I visited this Korean BBQ in Thornhill, and when you step inside, it has a contemporary vibe. It almost reminded me of a family-style dining experience, away from the modern influence of technology and trends. We tried the Korean Pot Rice with Abalone, which came with side dishes, salad, and soup. Apparently, we need to mix the sauce into the bowl to bring out the flavor. We ate them separately and enjoyed them. The raw beef and pork were grilled in front of us and turned out so good! It has exceeded my expectations. My coworker treated us to the pancake, and I love the crispy texture of the crust.

First time trying sotbap in the GTA and this was surprisingly really good. Sotbap is a korean rice pot dish where the rice is mixed with root veggies & served with a protein. I love that the rice becomes crispy because of the cooking technique. The location is quite big with 2 units & good seating. The customer service was great with lots of servers even on a weekday. The potato's pancakes with truffle aioli was tasty too. There aren't a lot of places in Toronto that serve sotbap & I was glad this is now offered here as Kobi is known for their KBBQ.

Kobi is a Korean BBQ restaurant, we came in Saturday night at 6 without reservation, the staff was able to seat us immediately. Ordered : marinated beef ribs- 260g at $30.99, 4/5 Marinated pork ribs-260g at $22.99, 3.5 Seafood pancake with chives- at $11.99 4/5 Free sides -3.5/5 Service is fast and friendly, they also provide free soup and egg, but it's not refillable. Overall good experience and atmosphere here, potion is small though

Came here for the first time. Kbbq was pretty good. I liked their marinated meat and the steamed egg. There side dishes was also tasty. Service was pretty good, as they would come over to help you grill the meat. We were a party of 4 and sat comfortably in the booths.

Side dishes. The steamed egg comes with the cheesy chicken.

We came for the cheesy chicken, and the cold noodles because I was having a craving. You have to order two orders of the cheesy chicken, so definitely come with at least one other person. The portion is large, as it includes chicken, rice cakes, veggies, and a large ring of cheese with corn in the perimeter. They bring the large hot plate in front of you to cook, using the central grill in the table as a heat source. When it is cooked, you can choose different pieces, dip it in the cheese to have your cheese pull moment, and enjoy! I can see this as a fun meal to have with a bunch of friends in the winter months. We also ordered a bowl of cold noodles. It came in a large metal bowl with a bunch of fresh veggies, with the noodles in a slushy cold broth. There is a bottle of mustard and vinegar on the side for you too adjust the flavour of the soup to your liking. I loved the texture of the noodles and the delicate flavours in the soup. It paired well with the spicy hot chicken and greasy cheese

I've been to Kobi for regular kbbq but never for their spicy chicken with cheese. Honestly there was sooo much cheese we couldn't even finish it lol. We ordered: Spicy Chicken and Cheese: good mix of chicken, veggies and rice cake. The sauce was good but I think it was missing a bit of depth Seafood Stew: Generous with the seafood and flavourful broth I love that for one of the "service" items they brought steamed egg cause the fluffy egg is elite. Their banchan aren't bad either, not that best I've had but decent. Overall the meal was quite reasonable for the amount of food we got and the service was friendly and quick. Will probably be back if we're craving a hearty Korean meal

A lot of hype and came highly recommended by friends. The service was quite good-friendly and prompt. No real complaints on the food-it was fresh and tastes good (they did the cooking for you which I like). Was the meat "out of this world" like my friend said? Not quite-it was good but nothing "special". The recommended seafood pancake came a bit burned and I've tasted better. Lastly the $45 dish with the cheese and chicken was good but was it really worth that? Overall, it under whelmed but was not a bad with-average food (that is a bit expensive) with bonus points for good service.

Food quality 2.5 stars, cleanliness and ambiance 2 stars, service 3 stars. We reserved our table quite a few days in advance, to have dinner on Saturday. Due to COVID-19, they have limited seating but I am not sure about the distance protocol in seating which they are having. We had Beef Sirloin and Beef Skirts from BBQ menu. Overall experience, not as expected.

January 2, 2022 - I've been to this location a few times for dinner with my friends. We ordered Spicy Chicken and Cheese and Cold Noodles. We also order rice and rice cakes on the side. Our waitress accidentally gave us ramen noodles too, she added it and when she saw our faces she then realized we didn't order it. So we worked out a deal ;D Spicy food is definitely my favourite! I really enjoyed the spicy chicken and cheese 4/5, but I feel like there isn't enough cheese. The cold noodles was good 4/5.

Was craving dak galbi so we came here to try! There was ample seating in the restaurant. I think it is split off into two sides: kbbq and non-bbq. For four people, we ordered three servings of the spicy chicken with cheese (different spicy levels so no worries there!) with side order of rice cake and 2 servings of fried rice. They simply added white rice near the end of the meal, along with kimchi, and stirred it around. We also ordered the cold noodle and seafood pancake. Spicy chicken with cheese: 5/5 THE CHEESE! The chicken was tender and juicy. Really good portion sizes. There was ample cheese to go around to wrap around the chicken pieces before consumption. I was surprised that there were pieces of pineapple along with the cheese! That definitely added a new flavour element. Near the end, we got the staff to add the fried rice. We were so full but the rice was amazing so we ended up finishing it all. Cold noodle: 4/5 Pretty basic and good. Nothing special to write home about. Seafood Pancake: 3.5/5 Not my favourite... it was a bit more doughy in the middle than I would have liked. It was quite crispy on the ends though. Service: 4/5 Each table has a buzzer bell that you can use to ring up servers. They were attentive and refilled our side dishes a few times as well. Overall, I highly recommend the spicy chicken and cheese dish. Remember to add rice cake and fried rice!!

The seafood pancake was alright. The first time I had seafood pancake was in Korea and it's so much better. The spicy rice cakes were definitely spicy and if you can't take spice I would not order this. Someone in our party had to stay away after trying one and finding out that it was too much for her. The cheese wasn't very pliable with the spicy chicken. I guess I expected that really nice cheese pull. The servers come soon after the bell is rung but they're in such a rush to leave every time that you're not able to get another word in and they're gone. When it came time to pay one server was fascinated with a baby in our party that he didn't hear a question that was asked haha. I guess that's good and bad.

Dakgalbi in cast iron pan with corn cheese. I recommend leaving some cheese until the end because it gets a bit crunchy.
    Mel A.

Phenomenal dakgalbi, I recommend asking for some lettuce to make saam. Their banchan is varied and tasty. They'll refill any of it whenever you want. It feels like stepping into a Korean bbq restaurant in Korea. Definitely visit this restaurant.

That was until I recently found out that they had renovated and added a dining area. We arrived around noon on a Saturday. As soon as you walk in, there's a counter where you place your order, and the rest of the space is the dining room. It's a fairly large space, with two picnic tables in the middle surrounded by regular tables. The dining area was about half full when we arrived. When placing our order, we were told about a new smoked brisket ramen noodle dish they were trying out. This sounded intriguing, but since it was our first time here, we wanted to get what they're known for: their sandwiches. Maybe next time. We ordered: 2 x Smoked Brisket Sandwiches 1 x Reuben 1 x Large Fries The Brisket Sandwiches were incredible. The brisket was smoky and tender, with just the right amount of sauce. The Montreal smoked meat in the Reuben was a little dry and there wasn't enough sauerkraut, but overall, it was decent. If we're in the area, I would definitely eat here again. I'm not sure about ordering the ramen, though, since there are so many more sandwiches to explore, like the Philly Cheesesteak and the Mr. Rib, not to mention the burgers.

Menu is easy to follow: you pick a vessel and a protein, as well as your choice of toppings and sauces. You can also choose sides and drinks as well. They also have daily deals. My go-to is the HOLY SHRIMP as a SALAD bowl. I top it with cheese, caramelized onions, crispy onions, cucumber, southeast salsa, and sweet pickled cabbage. Their avocado cream is a must-have sauce and this time, I requested a little bit of their roasted peanut sauce as well. The shrimp will definitely have you saying "HOLY!" because they're so crunchy and flavorful. Not to mention, a really good size! One serving is about 5-6 large pieces of shrimp. The K.F.C. was the first protein I tried and is my second go-to choice. Service is always friendly and in general, the entire process is just so easy and convenient. It's a traditional form of Argentinian barbecue on the open fire. I've tried Brazilian rodizio and Venezuelan arepas but that was near the extent of my Latin American foray so it was exciting to taste the cuisine at this hidden gem. The must-get menu item is their charcoal grilled chicken. It's sort of akin to Portuguese chicken but in comparison the meat here is more juicy and better seasoned. The half chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender with slightly smoky flavours, then even tossed in chimichurri sauce. Perhaps greasy yet each meaty bite is satisfying! Honourable mention also goes to their empanadas. A pretty sight: golden baked crust folds over the fresh beef filling, that might be even better by the dozen. And at their price point, I can see why guests generally agree La Parrilla is a 5-star visit. I ordered ahead and the food was ready for pickup upon arrival to avoid any wait. Owner Serge was friendly about offering an extra sauce on the side along with chimichurri tossed on the chicken. Definitely get that sauce, as it adds dimensions to the asado / grilled meat. It's not easy for family businesses to operate these days, so I applaud that La Parrilla charcoal churrasqueria continues to offer top notch food from this little plaza.
