I came here this evening and the food was alright I've definitely had better sushi my friend did not enjoy hers at all but that's besides the point. As soon as we walked in, it smelled really bad so I made a comment to my friend about it and she agreed. We sat down and all of a sudden the lights completely go off and we see a rat running through the restaurant. I think the employees knew what they were doing when they were turning the lights off because they saw the rat and they didn't want anybody else to see it. I was so grossed out I had my feet up the entire time. If it was up to me, I wouldn't have eaten there at all I definitely regret it definitely avoid this place it's dirty!! read more

UPDATE- I DID NOT GET SICK THE NEXT MORNING OF COURSE, BUT THE REST OF MY POST IS TRUE. SOMETHING HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE AND QUALITY IS NOT THEIR BUSINESS.ANYMORE. I came here on august fifth, around four forty five, and it was eighty degrees and humid outside. I walked into a restaurant and the room was definitely warm and I checked the outside deck, which was terrible. The reason why it was so warm is that the main doors that go out to the deck were wide open, which didn't make sense. So I came back inside and sat down. The reason I sat down is because I have come to this place quite a few times and I didn't mind a little temperature. My mom and I picked our food out and the waitress f came over and took our order. She did a good job. The problem was when the food arrived. I ordered the sushi regular order and Ikura and a few plates of appetizers for my mom. The alarm bells start going off when I took my first bite of the sushi and it had a slight taste of ammonia. I automatically tasted the ikura to see if the fish was fresh. I am not an expert, but I have gone to many sushi restaurants and have had spent some time in Tokyo and can tell pretty fast if the fish was fresh. It was absolutely not. The rest of the warm sushi didn't have that taste, but I couldn't send it back because my mom and me had plans and I didn't have the time to wait for another meal and truthfully, if your sushi is warm, you don't want to order any more. My mom's plates of appetizers were devoid of character and taste but would not kill her so we stayed. My only hope is that in seven hours that I don't start getting sick. The only advice I have is keep checking the reviews for this place to see if they are going to go back to what they used to be. But right now, after finally reading the views, which I haven't read, i would tell you to stay away from this place like the plague . Had really high hopes, ambiance is lovely. However both the food and service were poor. We initially ordered edamame that we did not end up receiving and I had an udon soup that had "chicken, egg, vegetables and fried shrimp on the side" the shrimp was fine but the vegetables consisted of a few green bell peppers and low quality lettuce that seemed unwashed. Both the broth and chicken were very bland and the chicken felt slimy. My sister had the sushi and didn't care for it either. My wife and I really enjoy this spot. We have been coming for years and usally enjoy sushi on the beautiful lakeside patio. BUT, last night we had their Hibachi for the first time.( they stopped it during covid and recently re implemented it) it was FANTASTIC! all the awesome traditional things you expect ie: broccoli toss, onion volcano and yes, Sake offerings out of a super soaker machine gun. Outdoor dining fail!!! Place was filthy, spider webs all over, seems that it hadn't not been cleaned for months , college aged patrons vaping and drinking while dining outdoors. Alcohol spilling over while in transit. The place was like an episode out of shows from Gordon Ramsey and John Taffer. The server wasn't very attentive and disliked that we changed our drink orders. She also was unaware of which table orders were supposed to go to. The food cart is unsanitary and food wasn't covered while in transit. Haven't visited since before Covid and decided to treat a friend who was visiting from Jersey to a nice lunch. The service was not so good had several different servers coming over to us over and over at different points which would be great except that we really didn't need anything after putting in our drink orders except to be given some time to chose what we wanted to eat. We ordered drinks and apps and then placed our order for lunch a short time after. We chatted and waited and our apps came out before we could even clear our plates good another server came over to ask if we needed anything so we asked for more water and she said are you done? We assumed she wanted to clear our appetizer plates so we smiled and said yes please, 2 mins later she came with the check. We were so confused because we hadn't gotten our entrees lol so we apologized for her misunderstanding us and explained that we meant we were done with the appetizers and hadn't even eaten our entrees yet and she rolled her eyes and walked away annoyed with the check. Our main server the person who took our orders came over and apologized and then went to get our food. Everything after that was great. Apps, drinks and food all on point. Took away a star otherwise for the situation with the multi-servers. I ordered from this restaurant after visiting my aunt for a day. I ordered a salmon handroll, a California Roll, a Spicy Tuna Roll, a Salad, two pieces of Tamago Sushi, and Edamame. I really loved the food and it's one of my top two favorite places to order sushi. I would love to come here again and order food. We eat here a lot. Usually take out but occasionally will go in for sit down either at the hibachi or the patio. Last night was a nice night we decided to go to the patio. The service is always very good. The food though was not so good last night. My wife and I both ordered hibachi. She had steak and myself the chicken, it came out relatively quick and it was lukewarm. Needless to say it was not a very enjoyable dinner and when the bill came, I noticed that the price has gone up substantially for hibachi dinners. My recommendation to the owner is that if you're serving a hibachi to a table that it should be hot just like it would be off the grill. read more

Just as unpleasant was the feeling that they were in a rush to usher us out. Right after the food was servered, the waitress brought over to go containers and began harrassing us to order dessert - which we would have foregone, if not for the birthdays. We've been to hibachi hundreds of times over a lifetime, and in various countries and NEVER had that happen to us before! Then we get our bill which had an 18% service charge on the bill and then a suggested tip on top off that of a minimal 18% which the waitress did point out to us after my confusion.! The drinks were OK. The food was average. The views were amazing, though. I had high hopes for this place because it's in such a beautiful location. The restaurant itself is huge and a great spot for sitting by the water. I wish the food were better because I would be there often, especially when the weather is as beautiful as the day we went there for dinner. Unfortunately, the sushi we had was underwhelming, and I wouldn't go back for sushi, maybe for drinks and appetizers. It is unfortunate that my recent experience with this place has declined from the last. The best part of my August 7, 2023 visit was our chef. He was very personable, and did his food preparation with skill and precision. So what went wrong? Firstly, the miso soup had a peculiar taste, almost as though the water was sitting for a while before it was used. The salad dressing lacked luster and thickness, as though it was watered down to preserve cost. What was mostly disheartening was an 18% "service charge" was added to the entire bill. When I called the host/manager over to question this, she had mentioned there was a sign in front that indicated the charge would be added to hibachi orders. I did not see this sign when I walked in, so it was not obviously apparent, but I felt it was nervy to provide an additional line on the bill for a tip, after the "service charge" was applied. Did they actually expect to double dip me on the tip? The irony was, I would have given the chef a 20% gratuity on my own, but I resented having that decision made for me. The amount I paid for this lack of quality was way too high. It's a shame because this was once my favorite hibachi place. Using the pandemic as an excuse does not fly anymore. There were no lunch specials or any specials on Saturday so dinner prices it was, but portions were quite small. Don't expect to have leftovers to take home. Service was poor too. Surprisingly their lunch specials come with both miso soup and salad, which have not been provided for a long time in most of Westchester sushi bars, even before COVID-19. Last time I'll ever come here. We had a 6pm reservation for hibachi, was told when we talked in it will be a 15 minute wait, which was annoying but I let it go. We got our food and within 5 minutes they came out with boxes to wrap our food up... WE WERE STILL EATING!!! Then, they basically threw the bill at us and wanted it to pay right away. This place is so money hungry and pushes people out the door for the next table. She even put the new dishes in front us, that's so disrespectful and rude. These waitress' need a class on proper education because this was so beyond rude. Never again. We sat at 6:15 and were pushed out the door by 7pm... so awful read more
