So this was my second visit today and it was a totally different experience over my first visit. Long story short apps took forever to come out and when they did I ate my first dumpling and boom here comes lunch! Urgh. So we are that and realized they never brought our soup! It came with a salad (this was fresh), the chicken which looked like it had been sitting around for hours, a California roll (the avocado was turning colors and was extra mushy), the wasabi and ginger were not fresh, the rice was cold. I ordered two rolls (eel avocado and spicy tuna) as my main and 2 springs rolls and shared crab Rangoon with hubby and he had general tso's chicken. He was perfectly fine. However, one crab Rangoon was only a fried wonton (no filling), my garden salad didn't come with the ginger dressing and barely filled the container (picture taken after I added my own greens, dressing and tomatoes), the spring rolls were mostly dough and no filling, the spicy tuna wasn't spicy and the eel avocado roll was all avocado and a tiny sliver of eel. We often get veggie or chicken lo mein and general Tso chicken. really continent and delicious, quick and hot meals. Cheap, tasty, clean, pick one. But I forgot about Asian Fusion. As confusing as ever, but now for better reasons (upstairs or downstairs? Chinese or Japanese? Which of the roughly five hundred menu items to eat?), Asian Fusion is hands down the best Chinese in town! It hits two outta three (tasty and clean) as a Chinese restaurant. The sushi is good too, though just shy of phenomenal. While Asian Fusion is neither expensive or cheap, its good food, served competently in a fun setting. So this was quite outrageous to me. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner one night, I ordered a bento box with teriyaki salmon and she ordered vegetable lo mein. When the lo mein was set on the table I took the first bite using a fork, when I bit down I immediately bit down on what seemed to be a paper clip that was bent to be straight. I was very unhappy when I received this in mouth. I presented this to who was %100 the manager and she snatched it from my hand and insisted it was from a steel wool brush and that it "happens sometime". It was a solid piece of sharp metal. She took the plate and brought a new one, but did not give any sort of discount or apology even. I was disgusted with this place. I am currently a waiter myself and I know if that were to ever happen to any of my tables, your entire meal and your next one would be on me. I wished for better in this place. i came here a lot in the past with groups of friends, but today i came by myself for a good lunch. i had the lunch bento box. the boneless BBQ pork one. the pork itself was nice and moist and chewy. i like the BBQ sauce but it was bit tangy for my taste when comes to char Sui sauce. a little less sauce would be best. the shrimp shu-mai was very good and nothing up. the California rolls were yummy and the rice was good sticky and not dried out. the white rice severing was good and warm, not dried out at all. the miso soup given with the lunch could have been warmer, but it tasted great and not overly salty. it is cute there, they sever soda in mason jars, it was different for sure. the waitress was very polite and patient with me. overall i will hit them up again with my friends like old times. read more

I'm honestly amazed at the negative reviews of this place- I've never had a sub-par experience. To be fair, I've never eaten in here, and when we want sushi we usually go to Tokyo Sushi, so my review will be limited to their Chinese take-out. Before Asian Fusion opened, there was basically 2 options for Chinese food in New Paltz- China House (ew) and Great Wall Kitchen. Great Wall was UNBEATABLE 10 years ago, but has changed owners a few times and has never been the same, so my Chinese food consumption had trailed off significantly. Enter Asian Fusion. I was hesitant at first as the name "Fusion" seemed a little too trendy and I'm generally not an early-adopter of new places, but after trying once it I was hooked. The staff is friendly (a refreshing change after always being barked at by the Great Wall lady), the menu is extensive, and the food is fresh and delicious. I'm usually a pretty picky eater and rarely stray from my usual orders, but Asian Fusion has coaxed me to try new things on more than a few occasions and I'm usually very satisfied with my choices. I've never had a mixed up order, and the food has always been hot and fresh. I've even successfully converted my set-in-their-ways parents. (We all agree, however, that the one thing Great Wall still does better is Wonton Soup.) TL;DR- I guess some people have had bad experiences, but I've been getting AF takeout bi-weekly for the last 2 years and have enjoyed it every time. read more

Not exceptional but slightly above average (3.5 stars really). The service was friendly. I stopped by for lunch and did a sample of Sushi and Thai. For sushi was a standard spicy tuna roll. They did put temprua "crunchies" in the roll which made for an interesting texture. The tuna did not seem super fresh but it was still descent. For thai I did a "Chicken Coconut Thai", which is a red curry Thai in coconut plate. The portion was just huge. The spice was slightly above average, and it's served in a dish with a flame below to keep it hot. Interesting presentation and was descent. Overall good. read more

I finally checked this place out and I'm a big fan. All my favorite food is Asian and I can mix and match different types in one meal - sushi, a little chinese, some thai. The only problem is making a decision! Loved their spicy crab roll, it has a little more kick than most do, and their seaweed salad was good too. When you advertise "spicy" and I have to add ALL the spices myself, that's a bit of an issue. Their dishes even required me to use salt! Food is lackluster alongside employees. They look miserable working here. Cold noodles with peanut sauce was made with lo mein noodles and was just a bit odd. Dumplings weren't great. Sweet and sour chicken was decent but it's just chunks of chicken fried. However it came with the sauce on the side and very little of it. I heard the general tsos is good from the group I went with. I however just wasn't impressed with this place. We were the only group dining on a Sunday afternoon in the restaurant I think that says a lot. read more
