    Sushi deluxe

The food was fresh and delicious. The crab Rangoon was light and not greasy. The hot snd soup soup was great. I loved my sushi but would have liked a variety or some eel, shrimp, egg, crab, octopus, a variety. What I got was good but ordinary. The service was top notch, our waitress got all orders correct and in no time. I would return.

So this was my second visit today and it was a totally different experience over my first visit. Long story short apps took forever to come out and when they did I ate my first dumpling and boom here comes lunch! Urgh. So we are that and realized they never brought our soup! So they brought it out and we ate it as desert. All of the food even the apps was like warm at best! No apologies or discounts for any of our troubles. Oh well it's a college town so they probably don't care. Food pics look a lot better than it was.

Whoa. So I picked this up on my way home from work-to go order- let me preface this by saying I always want to work these things out before doing a yelp review. I got home and the the dinner was missing pieces (shu mai) and all of the sauce from the the shu mai had run into the sushi roll making all of the rice fall off. When we called to ask for a replacement we were told we should have ordered something different because that happens. Ugh. Come on! You can do better!! Now I'm having slop for dinner. Gross.

My fixed salad and 6 pc. Rolls rather than the standard 8 with mostly avocado in the supposed eel roll.

If I could've left no stars I would've. My husband and I, after a long day, decided to be lazy for dinner and order take out. We've had pleasant experiences here before, but not this time. I ordered two rolls (eel avocado and spicy tuna) as my main and 2 springs rolls and shared crab Rangoon with hubby and he had general tso's chicken. He was perfectly fine. However, one crab Rangoon was only a fried wonton (no filling), my garden salad didn't come with the ginger dressing and barely filled the container (picture taken after I added my own greens, dressing and tomatoes), the spring rolls were mostly dough and no filling, the spicy tuna wasn't spicy and the eel avocado roll was all avocado and a tiny sliver of eel. Save your money and go to Adam's Fairacre Farms instead for your sushi fix.

I don't know where to start but let's start with service - unfriendly, unapproachable.... food? Worst Chinese food I've ever had. Ordered chicken chow mein and got some grossed looking chicken. It was like a chicken onion soup- see pic. The food was salty and tasteless. Not to mention it was extremely expensive. We threw all the food right in the garbage. Great waste of money. Stay away

This food was so nasty and so expensive ew. Spare ribs tasted like horse meat. The rice was hard as if it were barely cooked. And the vegetables? BITTER ASF. The fries were hella soggy and tasted like a bag of salt. The audacity to serve this food is inhumane. And the nerve to be so expensive is crazy asf. DONT BUY FROM HERE SAVE YOUR COINS!!

Yuck. Expensive, greasy, and gross. The sushi was not fresh at all. Actually the worst sushi I have ever eaten.

The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The slaw and sauce on both were amazing, and the crab cake was crispy and tasted great. Then for dessert we got the tres leches. Here's a polished review that stays honest while keeping it fair and balanced:…read more Agave in New Paltz offers a modern, fusion-style take on Mexican-inspired cuisine rather than authentic Mexican food. If you're expecting traditional Mexican flavors, just know this restaurant leans more toward upscale fusion than classic Mexican dishes. The food is good, and everything we've tried has been flavorful, although the portions are on the smaller side. The prices are reasonable for the quality and presentation, and the atmosphere has more of a cozy, date-night vibe than a casual Mexican restaurant. One suggestion I'd make is to expand the salsa selection. For a restaurant centered around Mexican-inspired cuisine, offering a few house-made, original salsas would really elevate the experience and make it feel more authentic. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so it's not the best choice for large groups. Parking can also be a challenge since there's no dedicated lot--it's street parking only, so be prepared to drive around until you find a spot. Overall, Agave is a nice place if you're looking for creative fusion dishes in a relaxed setting. Just go in expecting modern Mexican-inspired cuisine rather than traditional Mexican food, and you'll likely enjoy the experience.

They also have a decent bar, featuring sake, cocktails, beer and wine. On my most recent visit they were sold out of a couple of the imported Asian beers, not to fear though. They also have a decent list of local draft beers. So of course I pivoted to a IPA. For dinner we started with the Korean Wings ($14) from their extensive specials list, as well as the Shanghai and Singapore Noodles ($16 ea.) The wings were fried perfectly and the sauce was a well-balanced blend of sweetness and spice. For our noodle dishes, we were surprised to find that with the special you get a combo of chicken, shrimp and pork, as opposed to the choice of only one when you order from the regular dinner menu. Price point also varies depending on your protein. The Shanghai noodles were saucy, with a good amount of veggies with noodles similar to that of chow mein. Alternatively the Singapore noodles are very thin, spiced with a bit of curry and extremely flavorful. We enjoyed both and loved the care that was given by our server. She checked in and updated us about our order, while carefully navigating our needs without interrupting our intimate dinner. Red House is most definitely on my list for my next Happy Hour with the ladies. Signed, The Happy Hour Huntress

I like the large Mexican/Asian fusion menu. There is something on it for everybody. I started with the Malay curry wontons. Dumplings in a red curry sauce. They were delicious! They were tender, the generous filling was delicious, and they had just a little bit of a gentle heat to them. I could feel my forehead sweat just a little bit. I liked them. For my main course, , I had the Asian rice bowl with teriyaki beef. I chose the seasoned rice, and it came topped with cabbage, carrot, cucumber, bean sprouts, broccoli, bokchoy, cilantro, and egg. I had mine with Teriyaki Sauce. The bowl was huge, and it was delicious. The meat was tender and had a good flavor, the veggies, and the rice were done just right, and I like the addition of the egg. Everything played very well together. It was rich, but not overly so. There was a lot of food, and I took some of the dumplings and the rice bowl home for later. I had a soda, but they also offer Boba tea, beer, even soju, among other things.. The price was very reasonable, especially for the fact that I got two meals out of it. I will be back. Thank you.
