We've just moved to the area and have been looking for a Chinese restaurant to order from. While Peking City does not deliver you can use Grub Hub to bring your order. There is a slight service fee and the tip is added. I ordered chicken with garlic sauce (white rice) and steamed dumplings. Food arrived on time and piping hot. Super spicy but not burn your mouth so and enough for two people. Reheated perfectly the next day for lunch. Dumplings were amply filled and not doughy. Surprisingly good Chinese food - takeout is their specialty and don't be fooled by the drab shabby exterior. The portions are generous and service is quick. I had the Moo Shu vegetables and House Special Egg Fu Yung. I would have given 5 stars but the place is drab, and there was a bit of a mess in the general seating area, with tables still with left over food and plates sitting there waiting to be cleared away- and the windows could do with a clean.... This was my first time here. My hot and sour soup was very good. The cashews and chicken was great in flavor but not enough marinade/sauce. General Tsao's also good in flavor but the sauce was thick, and the beef and broccoli was great. Could be 4 starts but being the last customers of the night it took a real long time to have dinner made. I ordered chicken loMein and Hunan lamb with pan fried wonton Wonton was meh Both dinners ordered with no onions and they had no onion. LoMein had plenty of sauce which we enjoyed because most places in Westchester make it very dry. Hunan means spicy and I confirmed with them it's spicy. Nope. Barely a tingle. I did like their use of broccoli stalks peeled and cubes for a filler in this dish although ahem try some water chestnuts? Plenty of meat( no hint of lamb taste) nice dish for 15.00 I forgot to ask them to cook with no sugar so of course everything was sweet( I hate Westchester) If I'm in that area around the same time again yes I would try again read more

Food is good, but the kids working there are absolutely awful. Rude, disrespectful, downright mean. One even went as far as making dirty faces and comments to my very young son. What a brat. They're too young to be working this way I'm pretty sure, and since they want to be as rude as they are, I'll make sure that the right people are aware of them working under age. Absolutely distasteful to have your bully children taking orders and being completely rude to the PAYING customers. Plus, they screw up the orders consistently. I have been getting takeout food here for several years. In the last year or so, I've noticed a gradual decline in quality. Last night was an all time low... Ordered sesame chicken, fried pork dumplings and shrimp toast. The shrimp toast was overcooked, greasy and generally tasted blah... the dumplings were tasteless and the pork inside seemed overcooked and lacked any flavor. The sesame chicken was overcooked and cardboard hard. Sauce was thin and lacked flavor. Broccoli looked as if it was old/not completely fresh. I have to be honest... I don't think I'll go back there. It was the most disappointing meal and I was embarrassed to share with my daughter as the quality was just so low. read more

This place is probably the best chinese food joint in Katonah/Bedford Hills area.. I have ordered from Peking City many times and have yet to be disappointed! I love their boneless spare ribs they are cooked well and have a great sauce to them.. All lunch and dinner combinations come with either an egg roll or wonton soup.. I tend to go with the egg roll. They put soup in styrafoam cups which tends to leave an aftertaste once you finish eating the soup.. Other then that the wait staff are polite and the place is always busy. I ordered $15 worth of food and put it on my credit card and then went back up to order steamed dumplings which came to $6 and change, I gave my credit card and was told it was a $10 minimum even though i had already spent $15. We have been loyal customers of Peking City since we came to the area. It is a nice family business with good food and large portions. There are two adorable 7(?)-year-old boys who man the front counter, taking all phone orders and charging credit cards -- it's very cute and they take the job most seriously. Try not to laugh! (You only really remember that they're little kids when they can barely reach your order over the counter.) Phone orders are ready very quickly, and of course they're open on Christmas. I especially like their healthy menu, including steamed vegetables + chicken, shrimp, or tofu (no oil, sauce on the side); they're generous with the protein, unlike other places. We've never had a bad meal here nor have gotten sick (as unfortunately has happened at other at Chinese places). Give it a try! read more

I ordered Tofu Szechuan Style(w/minced pork), I've had better. My husband's order, Shrimp with Black Bean & Vegetables was disappointing. To my surprise, there was so much onions in the dish that he was left with 7 shrimps and 3-4 snow peas and 3-4 sliced carrots. I guess all that onions count for Vegetables. I would call this entree Onions with Shrimp and Black Beans. read more

The food is ok other than shrimp dishes which are awful. When you get take out, oftentimes items are missing. Tonight they forgot to pack rice. When I called and asked that they deliver it, I was told it would be here in ten minutes. I called after a half hour and was told they were busy and couldn't come. I insisted and it was delivered. I recently moved here from Connecticut and was craving some sweet and sour chicken. Of course, as one does, I searched "Chinese food near me" and Peking City came up. The menu had exactly what I was craving and the fact that it was only a ten minute drive had me whipping out my credit card within seconds. When I arrived to pick up my order, the place was vacant: the first red flag. The food tasted fairly good, and it definitely satisfied my craving. However, about twelve hours later I was woken up by terrible cramps and intense abdominal pain. I knew then that I was in for quite a rude awakening. I nearly passed out as a volcano erupted from my anus. This repeated for the duration of the day, approximately in two hour intervals. It is two days later and I am still feeling the effects. There could have been a preparation issue, something was not stored correctly, an employee did not wash their hands, etc. Nevertheless, I will not return to Peking City. read more
