PROs - Kerala cuisine in south NJ, good food , fantastic service CONs - only open on weekends. ?? Well , there are very few Kerala restaurants in central / south NJ and hence finding this place was the best thing for us . Just 15 mins drive and fantastic location in East Windsor. Good parking facilities and there are so many other restaurants near by. We used to drive 45 mins for Kerala food and now it's near . Great service . Always smiling and very courteous service . Ambience inside was ok , but I wish they make it better to make an essence of Kerala with some good Malayalam music and decors . We ordered a long list of food . Of course we came here for The fish polichatu.. a special dish famous in this restaurant. It was about 28$ though... my friend loved it . Nicely done but we thought it could have more spice and masala . Kerala chicken fry was really good. . Decent quantity . Kerala parota was authentic . I hope it was hand made and not frozen. Tasted good . KOZHI / chicken curry was too good . Perfect taste and spice . Veg Kurma was good . appam / coconut milk was good too.. Mutton biryani was one of its kind .. oh my god . Really good didn't taste like biryani but the aroma was really good . Idiyappam was average . Because it was dense it was a rough tough to eat . Wish it was more soft .. sakkarai pongal sweet pongal was average too. Ada pradhaman was really good . Overall it was a good experience.. wanted to give 4 stars but gave it a 5

Tried here for the first time last night. Really great restaurant. Decent ambiance and lovely wait staff. They really went above and beyond Food: great flavors in the chicken tikka masala, the chicken 65 was also fantastic. Will be coming back.

Our family normally goes to Indian buffets. My dad likes the variety and the ability to choose something new if a dish is too spicy. We were happily surprised at how delicious the food was at Kochi and how kind the staff is. Our tall waitress was patient and listened to us - we got level 2 hot which was not hot for me, but good for my dad! Everything was fresh and flavorful. And since I have a dairy allergy, the owner/chef came out to our table to ensure I felt comfortable with what we decided to order. Would go back. Would recommend.

This is probably the BEST South Indian restaurant in all of New Jersey. Every single item on this menu is absolutely phenomenal but the Crab Masala with the Malabar Paratha was out of this world. Best to dine in here so everything can be eaten super fresh. The flavors here are unbeatable. Chef Jebu is a very kind man and deserves all the praise. Ordered Chemmen (Shrimp) Ularthiyathu, Crab Masala, Kochi Special Chicken Curry, Malabar Paratha, Thattu Dosa, Papadam, Mango Pudding, Jaggery Payasam and Masala Chai. Can't go wrong with anything here.

We felt like such honored guests here. Does it show?

This was just taken the other day...us with the owner & chef extraordinaire. I'm posting another review partly because someone inaccurately reported this business closed recently. It is decidedly open! I also wanted to post it because the quality and taste is truly as warm as the reception. The menu keeps expanding, so you will want to keep ordering... This is my absolute favorite Indian restaurant. Don't leave without trying my favorite--the okra curry. If you are a fish eater, you should probably know that I've been seated next to people who travel over an hour for the fish! Incidentally, there is plenty of meat for our carnivores. As you can see, I'm pretty excited! You will be too, and your taste buds will thank you!

Great kerala food! The service was excellent. We called to reserve a day prior to our visit. Monica called us back on the day of our visit to confirm. We were greeted and taken to our table by the host. Very professional service. Ordered meen pollichathu, which is a market price item. This item is a fish( meen) served in a banana leaf. The masalas were spot on. The fish was cooked well. Spicy & brown on the surface and flaky & white on the inside. Ordered malabar parotta, small ( thick but soft) dosas called thattu ( street food) dosas, appam, fish moilee and chicken tikka masala. They were out of fresh lime soda, so got mango lassi and buttermilk. They were also out of kappa+meencurry as they were prepping that item for a big catering order. They have sadyas ( kerala traditional feast) on special occasions like Onam and Vishu, so planning to try that out. Best to reserve early as seating is limited. It is managed by a kerala family. And the chef ( Mathew) takes the time to visit each table.

This place was an absolutely phenomenal spot for some authentic Indian food that doesnt break the bank! Fancy decor inside with dim lighting really made the difference to our dining experience. They offered veg and non veg options. We started with appetizers which included cauliflower manchurian which was perfectly sauteed with the right amount of sauce and spice. I wish that they had entree portion sizes it was that yummy. We then ordered for our entree chicken tikka masala, dosa, garlic naan, and a side of tamarind sauce. The dosa dips were to die for. Chicken tikka masala was the perfect amount of creaminess with the chicken so soft I could cut the pieces with my fork. You could tell the garlic naan was so fresh just by the taste of the dough..perfectly gooey, buttery, and garlicky. Everything here was just phenomenal and I would love to come back again!

Kochi was better once. I wonder if there was any notion was that perhaps I couldn't handle a strong spice as the Chicken Lollipops and Gobi 65 were really rather uncharacteristically bland. They were both fried well but were not seasoned well. The Gobi 65 was particularly disappointing as they were smaller nibbles of cauliflower. I'm not sure if anyone prefers fried food this way but I definitely like larger pieces. A final dusting of salt before serving would have helped the flavor. The accompanying dipping sauce was forgettable. The Meen Pollichathu was small and really dry. Having remembered having a well prepared dish here previously, I was certainly looking forward to it again but I couldn't get over thinking my fish was prepared once before and prepared a second time for me thereby making it dry. This particular pomfret was also smaller, which meant there wasn't much meat to extract off the bones. The gravy for the Shrimp Roast was very nice. Good spice, nice heat, nice thin strips of onions that were sweated well. The medium shrimp was ok. The flavors in the gravy didn't penetrate the shrimp, which implied they were prepared separately and tossed in the gravy at the end. Saucing the basmati rice with this gravy certainly enhanced the rice. Giving Kochi the benefit of prior meals, I bumped up the rating just a tad to account for how I once remembered Kochi. Hopefully they can return to their prior roots on my next visit.

We had our lunch here , were so amazed by the food we had here . The parottas were brought to us piping hot . The mutton toganjosh was perfectly cooked and delicious. The chicken curry was so juicy and flavorful. The buttermilk was perfectly spiced .

The chaos, however, was entirely self-inflicted: eight opinionated adults staring at a menu where everything looked good is a recipe for collective disaster. Our server, bless him, stepped in like a professional mediator and steered us toward some solid choices. The food arrived hot and largely delivered on its promise. Largely. The Poori Aloo, while perfectly edible, lacked a certain - as our Punjabi taste buds put it, rather bluntly: the oomph. The Amritsari Kulcha, meanwhile, seems to have had a bit of an identity crisis - it showed up tasting like an Aloo Parantha. For anyone who's had the real deal in Amritsar, this one may prompt a moment of reflection. Everything else, however, was genuinely enjoyable and the menu is a vegetarian's dream come true. Minor culinary debates aside, it's absolutely worth a visit.

The server suggested the specials for the day and we ordered two of them - Tandoori Soya Chaap (appetizer) & Paneer Angara (curry). Tandoori Soya Chaap was 10/10. Main course: Paneer Angara - no where close to the actual dish. It was more like Paneer Kadhai. Methi Malai Paneer, I would rate a 6.5/10. Naans were good. Dal Tadka (not in picture) was good as well but missed tadka. Overall, we were kinda satisfied. Would definitely be coming back for Tandoori Soya Chaap. Huge parking lot, quick service!

That is the vibe of my delivery of Eggmania's Surti Khemo (their egg curry). I asked for it with chapati instead of the default white bread because I like to think ahead about my carbohydrates. By the time it arrived at my house the curry had already undergone a curious separation event. A slick, shining pool of oil settled on top like it was waiting for the Coast Guard to respond, which was odd since I paid extra to have it made with butter rather than oil. Once stirred, its tomato-spiced and boiled egg flavors did shine through. It was not bad at all. But the portion was modest for the price and that oil slick made it feel smaller than it was. The chapati behaved like a polite bit of bread and nothing more. I can't say this first experience wowed me. The menu itself feels full of promise and variety, so if I find myself in the area again I might very well stop by and try something else from it, but this first exposure left me somewhat underwhelmed and thinking of other plans for dinner.

As other reviewers have shared, the decor over the years has improved slightly, but I can't say this would be the play to go for ambiance. And in the setting of the many Indian restaurants in NJ, if you are looking for vibes, dining here would not provide that. As for the food, Khasiyat is known for their parathas and they are always good but definitely challenging to have for takeout. I am actually a bigger fan of their khasta kachori which comes in a generous portion and can be taken to-go with the components separated. Unfortunately, the challenge here is related to service. There have been many times that I have called in ahead of time to place an order for pickup and despite arriving at their recommended time, the food is not ready and I have waited up to an additional 15-20 minutes.
