3.5 stars. What a quirky and fun restaurant name. This is a place i have been meaning to check out for awhile. This is a Latin-fusion sushi place with a very interesting menu. Its located in a tiny little area with a few restaurants and a parking nightmare to navigate in and out of. There's a little area in the restaurant that you order at. We got some items to go (may consider ordering ahead next time via phone so we wouldn't have to wait). We tried the trasher marino (love that they have their own version of the garbage plate that sounds so much more delicious) as well as a three roll combo that was chef's choice of the day. 4 stars for the trasher marino. Fish was fresh and it was a fun fusion dish. I'm glad I had it and it was fine considering Rochester doesn't have too much to offer in the ways of sushi. The other 3 rolls were unfortunately a bit disappointing (rice was hard) and the rolls were just okay. May stop back sometime for a trasher plate and they're nice people, but nothing that stood out and wowed me.

Wow! This place is a jewel. Just a super delicious explosion of flavors ... if you like delighting your taste buds - this is a must try. We had The Trasher Marino -- fish & salad veggies in a yummy sauce - Ike a thousand island kind of concoction. And the Pica Spicy Tuna Roll and the Dominican Roll we perfectly seasoned and a thing of beauty. We will be back!

Wow.... if you haven't tried this place, you need to.... ASAP! Between the people that work there, the branding, and the food itself, it's a must try in the Rochester area. I'm always skeptical when restaurants remake their own version of the garbage plate, but this place knocked it out of the park! I got the Original Trasher Plate. This includes a base of sushi rice, topped with grilled steak, beer battered shrimp, bacon, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, fried garlic, onion crunches, and a bunch of sauces that are just out of this world. And all for $11!!! You can't go wrong if you decide to go with this dish. Due to COVID, you are unable to eat inside, which forced me and my buddies to eat out of the back of my Jeep. The workers are so nice, they brought us all ( 3 of us) free waters during our meal and let us know that they'd be opening up the seating in the next month (it's currently May 13th 2021). And I'll be back to take them up on it. If you want food that is a nice fusion between Japanese and Latin American cuisine, this is the place. And if you aren't looking for that, then you just haven't tried it yet. Go here and you won't regret it. You'll actually wonder why it took you this long to find it. Just look for the bright blue truck!

This sushi fusion place is amazing. They have rolls that are so unique and very delicious. Personally, I love the trasher plates because there is so much food and it's so good. They also have amazing poké bowls. The employees are very nice and accommodating and I order from here often. Very very delicious!!

I love the Stingray Sushifusion food truck so I was really happy when they opened a brick and mortar store! I ordered a pick up order from GrubHub of the pork dumplings and Pica Spicy Crab Roll. Both were delicious! The dumplings were fried well and had a lot of flavor. The roll was SPICY, and has sazón spice as well. So good. I'm used to "spicy" crab meaning "just barely warm" for most sushi, so the kick of flavor in this one was fantastic. I really love the fusion of Latin and Asian flavors in all of their rolls. One tip: the parking lot is small and shared with three other businesses, so parking might be tight depending on when you go.

The bowls are our favorites! Food gets 5 stars. Definitely recommend taking food to go - seating isn't very desirable. Parking can be challenging as it is a crowded small shared space.

I first tried their food truck at the Food truck Rodeos at the public market. Which as you know is only April-September and the last Wednesday of the month. I was so excited when they opened there own place because now I can get them anytime I want. Me and my kids Love the "Trasher Plate".. it's sushi rice topped with beer battered shrimp, grilled steak, bacon, cucumbers, tomatoes, scallions, sweet bell peppers, fried garlic, onion crunches, ponzu, ginger mayo, sriracha, and stingray sauce. It has so many flavors and textures. From sweet to savory, to soft and crunchy. Your palate will be amazed. They have 3 other versions of the trasher plate. One all meat (Del Campo), all seafood ( Trasher Marino) and no meat or vegetarian ( Quinoa Trasher) but the one I always get is the original which has it all .. lol! Their place is very clean. You can take it to go or eat inside. You gotta check them out.

Wow. What a gem! Combining Rochester's historical food, the garbage plate, with Japanese and Dominican influences, Kocina has truly created a one of a kind culinary experience. So far I've tried the trasher marino and trasher del campo plate, and have not been disappointed. First, the portions of food they give you here is well worth the price point of 9-13 dollars! I was completely stuffed every meal. Even though sometimes the ingredients in each plate may seem overwhelming, they work great together! There wasn't a single ingredient that I thought was out of place. Especially the trasher marino , it has a very heart portion of salmon, tuna, and shrimp mixed with perfectly seasoned rice, veggies, their special white sauce and ponzu sauce. I was at first skeptical because of the small shop size, however the ingredients are very fresh including the fish! I'm very glad that your restaurant like this exists and will be definitely a repeat customer.

I don't know why I did not write a review before so I'm finally getting around to it! I've had stuff from this food truck a few times. We had them yesterday for a fundraiser at the Webster Public Library. The thing with this truck is they can adjust to fit your dietary needs a plus with our group. I enjoy the Trasher Plate, I'll put up a photo that shows what's in it, the CALIFORNIACATION Roll is tasty as well. The staff/owners are great and so pleasant. If you have a chance give them a whirl they are a fusion of Latin and Asian. I will be sure to try other items also read other reviewers tips for things to order. They are a food truck and you can follow them on social media. So parking or whatever they are; are catch as catch can. Enjoy

I originally found these guys through their food truck and now they have a kitchen on South Ave!! The serving size is amazing, as is the taste and texture!! Never misses.i will try other items in their menu soon. I'm distracted by thoughts of the Trasher Plate over a bed of sushi rice, beer batter shrimp, grilled steak, bacon, cucumber, tomatoes, scallion, sweet bell peppers, fried garlic, onion crunches, ponzu, ginger mayo, sriracha, stingray sauce. All my favorite things in one plate. I've tried to duplicate it just for fun, but it's never the same. Parking can be a challenge if you stop by their kitchen on South ave during lunch. One day I drove by and made another lunch choice and today I Grub Hub'd it to avoid it just in case. Maybe street parking instead of trying to pull in to the tiny lot. It's usually been a fast pickup and calling ahead helps.

Really nice little spot that I've been meaning to check out. Everything was fresh and good quality. We got a poke bowl, the Trasher plate, and El Chapo roll. The plate and roll were the stars for me but everything was great - the roll has a nice kick to it. Delicious and I think a good value for the price. It fed two of us with leftovers to spare.

I agree with some other writers that the price for what you get is off kilter. I asked the cashier how long a wait for a roll, the line was small and I had to scurry, he said 5-7-10 minutes, it ended up being around 15 and missed my number being called over the din of music. The roll was good, the plantains were a nice twist, thank you for having flavorful wasabi with a soul.

I'm truly obsessed with their stinger plate. I've eaten a LOT of food in 2021 but it still might be the best thing I've eaten this year. It's takeout only but worth the drive or the delivery fee!

This small mom and pop restaurant is hidden in the corner of Palm St. next to a barbershop across from the Kodak building. There's few parking spots in the front of the entrance so it's mostly street parking. When I walked in, the bar is in the front and the dining area and buffet counter are in the back. They also offer menu items and cater as well. I wanted take out so I opted for their large plate. It was packed full for a small cost of less than $8. Their buffet selection consists of about six meat options like stew chicken, baked chicken and beef and the plates come with the standard white or yellow rice and beans. The stew chicken was tasty and so tender it glided off the bone. The fluffy yellow rice was mildly seasoned but the flavor comes from the red beans poured on top (or on the side). Definitely a new spot I will go back to and looking forward to checking out their menu items!

Has a bar and dining room, but pretty much zero atmosphere, so get it to go is my advice. And for significantly less than $20, you get a ton of food to take home for your Netflix and Chill. It's not high end, but it's home cooked by genuine Latinos, and that's what you came for right? To get your pork and rice and beans on. Give it a try.

Our waitress came over after a minute or so, and dropped off menus. I ordered a Paloma drink and we ordered a large guacamole appetizer. The drink and the guacamole came out pretty quickly. And we enjoyed both. We finished the guacamole and my drink, so when the waitress came by, I ordered a classic margarita. The waitress wasn't kidding- it did take a while to get the food. But it was a busy night and they had let us know so we were OK. After a bit the Bartender/manager in charge came out to our table and offered us a free round of drinks, some chips and salsa on the house because of the wait. That was nice. And then within about five minutes, our food came and it was excellent. My wife's enchiladas had a toasted cheese on the end of them that was tasty - with the biggest amount of sour cream I've ever seen!
