    Mango coconut milk tea
    Angela B.

I thought the café itself was cute and it was enjoyable to sit and eat my meal and drink my drink. Sadly, I found my meal a bit bland. I got the udon noodles that come cooked with milk. It didn't have much taste I know spices or anything really to give it some flavor. it kind of reminded me a bit of eating in a nursing home where they always have to keep the food, bland, and easy to eat. But other than that, I liked everything else. The service was absolutely exceptional. The waitress who helped me was kind and gave me good information and answered all my questions. I liked my drink too, although it did not taste that much like mango as I was expecting it too. I had half my drink there and drank the other half when I got home the next day and it still tasted great the next day. It's definitely a cute place to come with friends or just enjoy some quiet time on your own. Parking is free and in the parking lot

I enjoyed my whipped cream Oreo croffle. The croissant was nicely grilled, soft on the inside with crispy exterior. I do like a croffle served with ice cream, but in this case it was whipped cream topped with a Oreo cookie and bits. Service was friendly and prompt.

Came here twice and the boba is the best I've ever had. They have not disappointed me yet and I have to say this might be my favorite joint. Highly recommend the rose garden tea and Kocochi milk tea.

Came in for dessert drinks after filling up on malatang. Many options including skewers and savory dishes. Will have to go back to try the food. We tried the kocochi coffee (which tasted like a standard iced Vietnamese coffee), ube milk tea with ube crystal jelly, and lychee yogurt with lychee jelly and lychee bursting boba. Ube milk tea was good, not too sweet, and son liked the yogurt. Eclectic interior, enjoyed looking at their Funko Pop collection.

Very spacious cafe that newly opened in Edmonds! Lots of seating and tables available to chat with your friends or to do work. I got the Kocochi Milk Tea which came with brown sugar agar jelly, boba, and creme brûlée. The lowest sweetness setting appears to be 25%, though I prefer my drinks to contain 0% sugar. My drink had a good balance of tea to ice and the toppings were fun to chew on. Additionally, the popcorn chicken was crispy and well-seasoned. I did find it to be saltier than it was spicy.

I drove past Kocochi Cafe on my way for groceries and decided to stop in afterwards to try a drink. Black Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Half Ice w/ Boba ($6.25) - They don't fill the cup all the way to the top and instead leave about a half inch gap. The drink actually comes premixed in a pitcher and the boba scooped from a pan. At half ice, there's way too much ice, probably comparable to 100% at other shops. The milk tea is not bad actually. It tastes a little like mulling spices, perhaps 1/4 of the way to becoming Chai. I found it very similar in taste to ViVi Bubble Tea. The boba here isn't rotated very well, I assume due to low traffic. The texture makes it feel like the boba has been sitting for a bit. It feels both hard but also too soft at the same time; chewy, but leathery. It's not quite to the point of being like day-old boba, but it's on the way there. Milk Tea Rating: 3.5/5 Boba Rating 2.5/5 The plaza Kocochi inhabits was completely desolate when I visited, most likely since the only business open in the building. I assume things will pick up once the YGF opens next door. I'll have to visit again once that happens, as I assume things will be a bit more fresh once they have more customers. Signage on 99, new strip mall north of 99 Ranch (12/16/24)

Kocochi Cafe caught my attention driving past on 99 twice. Third time's the charm, I had the opportunity to check out this new spot, located just north of 99 Ranch in Edmonds (12/16/24). Totally new spot in a brand new strip mall that emerged after the fire that took out the previous businesses a few years back. Bright, clean cafe. Ample available parking, ample interior seating. There's also a social gaming corner with games and plushies on the adjacent shelf. The front counter sure has a lot of Funko items lined up that adds to the interior decor. Bumping stereo system. Decent menu selection for bevs and eats. Welcoming service from the counter staff. The Homie ordered a Brown Sugar Thai Milk Tea w/boba and the five piece combo with 3 lobster and 2 shrimp skewers. I decided on a Hokkaido Milk Tea and two pork and shrimp siu mai fried skewers. Pretty decent for onsite dining, social meetup, or takeout. Nice north end find!

This place had "soft opening" sign when we visited. Very cozy with comfortable chairs. We were at the cafe for such a long time. People came in and out but never too full at least currently. We ordered passionfruit lemon tea and cocochi tea. The drinks can be customized to 25% sugar. We only ordered drinks but the food choices are appealing. Will have to try next time. There's plenty parking spaces in front when other places were closed. There are some restaurants and businesses sharing the parking.

Rounding up from 3.5 as I'm hopeful. Replacing Tapioca Express is Kokochi Cafe, a new boba spot serving a variety of drinks and snacks. Will miss TapEx in the Pacific Plaza for nostalgic reasons but the drinks here are definitely better (given the advanced growth with bbt). Currently only sharing the parking lot with KidStrong so there is a ton of parking. Free wifi available with some outlets. They do offer ice and sugar adjustments in 25% increments. Noticed interesting toppings including chili pepper popping boba which sounds fun but unsure what that pairs well with. Soft opening first week of December. Service is pretty slow but I remain hopeful for their success. Buy any 2 drinks and get 1 basic milk tea free (oolong, green, or ...) first two days. No toppings on the free drink. Rest of the week is 10% off. Took just under 30 minutes for our first two drinks. Took 50 minutes for our fourth drink. Popcorn chicken came first (before drinks) and wasn't too hot. Wasn't too busy either, but staff could still be training, so keeping that in mind. Popcorn Chicken - not as good as TapEx. Chicken is cut smaller which means they're more dry. Spice is dusted at the end so certain pieces are more flavorful on top but could the bottom bites are bland. Could be better spread and incorporated earlier into the process. Jasmine Green Milk Tea w/ Boba - boba is slightly undercooked. It's firm but still chewy, could use a few more minutes (or perhaps it's not fresh since it's a soft opening). Green tea was present with a light floral taste. Oolong Milk Tea - tasted like a normal oolong milk tea. Not much to comment on here. Kokochi Milk Tea - their signature drink with a variety of toppings. Couldn't quite tell because of the toppings and their sugar coatings, but tea base felt closer to black tea. It's a good dessert drink with the creme brûlée.

Since this whole plaza burnt down a year or two ago, this used to be tapioca express and they had some yummy street snacks and drinks but saw that Kocochi Cafe was opening after they rebuilt the plaza and was super excited to see what they offered! Looked at their menu and there were a lot of similar things that they had like Tapioca Express! I decided to try their Jasmine Green Tea with boba and my girlfriend tried the Oreo Thai Tea Smoothie with boba. Both drinks were delicious! The Oreo Thai Tea Smoothie reminded us of a place call Zero Degree in Oregon! Perfect sweetness and the consistency was perfect. We also ordered some of their food to try too! What we got were the popcorn chicken & fries combo, four combo skewer(fried hacao, taro fish balls, and the shrimp ball with quail egg) everything was delicious! Everything came out fresh, crispy and hot! I recommend trying the snacks when you come here! You won't regret it! Lastly, the inside of this cafe was super clean and modern! The decoration of funko pops was pretty cool since I'm into collectibles and something unique to see at a cafe! Also workers there were very welcomed and super nice too! Overall, I'm glad that this cafe is in the plaza and very close to us! I will be back to try their other drinks and snacks!

Cute new place that opened up that took over tapioca express in the same plaza. They have a large menu with foods and drinks. Nothing in particular stood out to my eye, but they had things like Oreo, Matcha latte and Tara smoothies and signature drinks. The Boba was good texture.Friendly service and good tea taste.

ohmygod when i tell you this is my new favorite spot for popcorn chicken and yummy drinks!! we tried the matcha oreo smoothie and peach strawberry yogurt drinks... amazing, light on sweetness, refreshing taste, one size and big cups!! the popcorn chicken was perfectly crispy and seasoned. we will be back to try more snacks on their menu!!

    Matcha Coffee with Taro foam
    Alexia D.

First time trying this place out and I was blown away by the menu from boba drinks, coffee, munchies, skewers to croffles! The cafe was cute modern and a good vibe. The owner is super friendly and helped me choose which drinks to order. My favorite was the matcha coffee with taro foam! You taste the hint of matcha mixed with Vietnamese coffee and sweetness from the condense milk and taro foam. It's delicious you got to try it! And then I ate the croffle (croissant/waffle) that was topped with whipped cream and Oreos! It was light and fluffy with just enough sweetness. You got to order it when you visit! I've tried a lot of boba spots but this one has some delicious boba and amazing fusion food that I'll keep coming back for.

I'm a creature of habit and often stuck to the other side of the complex. I did not realize that One Bite Cafe took over the former Great Harvest Bread. I had checked out One Bite Cafe before in Seattle's Roosevelt neighborhood out of curiosity regarding croffles, but it didn't not leave a lasting impression at the time (open since 2019, with that visit in July 2022). However, when The College Friend set up a meet up at the Lake Forest Park site yesterday (open since May 2022, this visit on 4/9/26). There is an interior entry from the two level retail area and an exterior entry adjacent to the big shared parking lot. It took me a few tries until I found a spot. I was kindly greeted upon entry while the counter person was assisting the customer ahead of me. I ordered and paid directly on the convenient touch screen kiosk located to the left of the main register. I liked the interior transformation. Lots of onsite seating configurations and pleasant decor. Overhead music played the Beatles, which was a pleasant surprise. The wrap around pastry cases with well placed menu placards showed the variety of menu offerings. There's a wide variety of bevs, sweet and savory pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and even gluten free items from NuFlours. I ordered a 22oz iced classic milk tea with 75% sweetness and no toppings, plus some Korean sausage bread. The College Friend decided on a toasted Reuben with chips. We also shared a Portuguese egg tart. We were onsite for three hours. I noticed a constant stream of customers who also dined onsite, as well as, folks getting items to go. I appreciated observing the consistent pleasant and helpful counter staff, all with welcoming smiles! I learned that One Bite Cafe has grown to four sites: Seattle/Roosevelt, Lake Forest Park, Woodinville, and Federal Way. That's great to see ongoing success for this local, indie cafe chain. Hot Dogs in Cars, and Managers Named "Robert" : A Hate Story…read more I have been a regular patron of The Rusty Pelican since I moved to Washington, just shy of 5 years ago. I take visiting loved ones and friends here, and I constantly extol the service and food to anyone who needs a recommendation for a breakfast spot in Edmonds. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN. The manager, Robert, showed sickening behavior. My partner and I were having breakfast out in front, when we noticed that a fellow patron had left their dog in the car on the sidewalk in front of our table. It was 60 degrees out, and completely sunny. The windows were barely cracked, and the dog was panting and straining its neck towards the venting of the window. We called our waiter over, who was incredibly sympathetic and horrified. He went inside to find the customer. We waited a few minutes longer, and then asked a second server to follow up (they were equally horrified and sympathetic). The second server also did not return. My partner went inside to seek help. It was at this point that they encountered Robert. My partner came out a few minutes later and explained what was happening: he had been in the process of denigrating the employees feelings about the matter, telling them to stop bothering customers and (essentially) quit acting like babies. "This isn't Arizona!" he exclaimed. When my partner asked to speak with him and tell him the situation, he was horrendously rude and confrontational, escalating each polite rebuttal with an agitating escalation of rudeness and denigration. My partner calmly explained that in these conditions, a car's interior temperature can rise to above 80 degrees in well under 30 minutes, not including stifling humidity. These conditions can cause an animal to pass out and die within a similar timeframe. At this point, it had been well over 30 minutes since the patron had parked. During all of this, he refused to even address my partner or look them in the eyes. It was absolutely unacceptable, and ultimately embarrassing for a grown man in a PAID CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED POSITION to treat anyone like that. To be clear: the entire staff were incredible. They came out to check on the dog a few times, and tried their best to confront the owner of the dog, but a certain manager was preventing them. They also apologized profusely, and showed a grace that is exemplary and frequently unseen in today's world. We learned several good lessons today: 1. We should have just called animal control right off the bat. The owner isn't going to learn their lesson without legal intervention, or lethal endings. Thankfully they left after about 40 minutes, and the dog seemed to be conscious. 2. I am never going to eat here again, as long as Robert is employed. He should be left in a hot car out front to teach him some perspective. I wouldn't call animal control for him though. 3. I am going to spend the rest of my days around Edmonds telling anyone who will listen this story. To Robert, if you read this: I hope nothing but bad things happen to you forever, and your behavior is inexcusable. You do not deserve to be employed. To anyone above Robert in a position of management or ownership: fire him. Quickly, and unceremoniously. Do it in front of the kind employees, as a treat. They had a familiar air of exasperation with Robert's behavior, telling me this is normal. And under no circumstances should it ever be. Shame on you Robert.

I can appreciate a fine conversation over an excellent glass of sparkling as much as the next guy, and here you will definitely get it. If you try. Vibe check is spot on. The Venue. Charming. Can we say that again. VERY C H A R M I N G indeed. Open spaces. Room to spread out. Quiet and calm and inviting with indoor AND outdoor spaces. The neighborhood makes it easy to get to and even easier to park at.... which is a MAJOR win. Selection. Wonderful, and the fact that they do the very unique chameleon act of breakfast, lunch-ish, cocktail-ish, and evening change of concept with food and rotating food trucks.. makes we want to come back. I will definitely come back. Stop reading this now and go check them out!

This Drumlin update is essentially transitional, jumping from Nov 2022 to Feb 2025 to July 2025…read more(7/20/25). I enjoy stopping by Shoreline's Ridgecrest neighborhood, because of the Crest theater, Ridgecrest Books, Cafe Aroma, and Drumlin. Drumlin is the sister restaurant to the adjacent Ridgecrest Pub which often hosts a wide variety of food trucks. I like how Ridgecrest overall has created a pleasant sense of community. Drumlin first came onto my radar screen because I heard about an Escoffier trained pastry chef working there from another Yelp Elite. I tried a few times to stop by, but the popular baked goods were always sold out. But I did end up having a tasty lunch which I wrote up in my previous review from 11/13/22. This pastry chef has since then moved on. Drumlin then returned onto my radar screen because I heard of about a revamp of their beverage and culinary program. I was able to spontaneously stop by, snag a two top and really enjoyed my first 2025 visit back on February 19th. I savored my spinach salad, casio e pepe risotto, and Running Up That Hill cocktail. It was a bit spendy since I had just started a new job. However, I appreciated the quality and its location close to home. It was nice to see positive write ups in Seattle Magazine and The Stranger, giving positive props to this Shoreline destination. Then I heard that Drumlin went into full cafe mode with daily business hours 7am to 1pm. Menu focuses on beverages, baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches/wraps for the time being. Interesting pivot, but not fully using their awesome multi-purpose space. They have outdoor seating, a full bar, a stage, many two tops against a banquette, street parking, and a dedicated private parking lot. Oh well, I'm sure there is a story behind that and why dinner service has been suspended. Anyways, subsequent visits happened all within a week on July 12th, 13th, and 20th. The first two visits were around 11 am, today's visit was at 745 am. The visits were all onsite for one hour, 90 minutes, and five hours, respectively. Absolutely chill vibe being onsite. Often the challenge visiting indie cafes, there's never enough seating, too crowded, the sea of laptops, ad naseum. I enjoy seeing solos, pairs, groups, and families stopping in whether to stay awhile or as takeout. I've enjoyed collectively to date: 3 - 16oz iced mochas, 1 chocolate chip cookie, one peach gingerbread cake slice, and two Morning Glory muffins. Today's muffin was especially awesome, still warm from the oven, love the overall moist crumb, and especially the pepitas for texture. This going to be a hard situation because I enjoy Cafe Aroma located diagonal from Drumlin, but I definitely favor the fresh onsite scratch pastries here. There's also some featured baked goods from Kaffeeklatch, located in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood. I've contributed two posts and 40 photos over five visits. Hopefully this provided a comprehensive view of my experience at Drumlin. I've been a Shoreline resident for over 23 years, I'm always rooting for hometown businesses to succeed as they evolve, remain vibrant, and viable.
