I enjoyed a casual weeknight dinner here with family. It is easy to find and street parking is free. The menu has good variety and even a kid's menu. I enjoyed the wings and veggie sticks that came with it. The beer selection is good and food and drinks were serviced promptly by the waiter. Overall it was a good dinner visit. First visit, nice little brew pub downtown quaint Edmonds. Server that greeted me was not very friendly and unfortunately that lack of personality continued throughout my visit. Now let's talk about why I came here in the first place, the beer. I tried a flight plus one, so seven of their styles and all were very solid offerings save one for one (Blizzak). My favorites were the Salish Ultra Pale (a WC) and Chocolate Love (Porter). For food I ordered the Seafood Chowder, which was exceptional with massive amounts of seafood. Although this a non-traditional seafood chowder it exploded with phenomenal and unique flavors. I also ordered a hummus plate and it fell flat in my opinion. They make their own hummus in house and although it was good, big miss serving it in a little plastic container. They need to spotlight this homemade dish and put it in a ramekin or something not a pathetic, throwaway plastic container. The carrots were two days from needed to be thrown out and the pepperoncini (first time I've ever been served this on a hummus plate) was a bit pathetic. This visit barely made four stars, but I'm going to give it four stars just simply because the beer was very good and the seafood chowder was outstanding. read more

We ended up here unexpectedly when a ferry delay changed our plans. We enjoyed this (unexpected) lunch locale, and would probably come again. I stopped in to have a late bite to eat at Salish Brewing Co on 5th and Dayton in Edmonds, WA. This place has great atmosphere. It has large tables for groups. People come to hang out, watch some sports on the 3 TVs that they have and just enjoy time with friends. People are laughing and having a good time. And the food is great!! Food is not hot upon arriving to our table. Fries were lukewarm warm and not crunchy. I'm not impressed. We asked for hot cocoa and I can tell you it's made from a packet of Swiss mix (store bought kind) I know, it sounds horrible but it's my experience . On a good note, the portions are big. We arrived later than we typically like (close to closing) and our server Ivy gave us a heads-up the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes -- no pressure, just professionalism. She was warm, funny, and spoke with genuine respect for the owner's vision and artistic pursuits. I ordered the fish and chips (Ballard kid + fisherman's daughter = tough critic). Perfectly fried cod in light beer batter, tartar sauce with fresh dill. Paired with a pint of Motherfogger -- smooth, rich, spot on. As for those 1-2 star reviews? Beer was great. Service is horrible. I honestly feel like I'm at Dick's Last Resort. My husband and I just moved to the area and checking out the local breweries. We will never come again. We are still here, just laughing off the complete rudeness. Our "server" just came up to us and said "what do you want." Brought us back our beers. My husband just got a side of fries and he acted like it was the largest inconvenience in the world. He came back and literally threw the napkins on the table. This was an ok experience. The atmosphere is nice. It's spacious, is decorated nicely with cool paintings on the wall, and has a big tv (or more?) to watch sports. However, the beer didn't stand out. We had Fog on the Bay (hazy IPA) and the Honey Golden Ale. They were just standard, and I couldn't really taste the honey in the Honey Golden Ale. The description says they use buckets of honey... I was hoping it would taste more like it! We ordered a pretzel. The size was huge, which was impressive. It came with a nice mustard and beer cheese. However... the pretzel itself didn't look or taste like a pretzel. It was missing the beautiful reddish brown crispy outside with that warm soft inside a normal soft pretzel would have. Instead, it was a strangely pale brown pretzel. Also, while the outside was crispy, parts of the inside were actually a bit cold. I wonder if it was reheated straight from the fridge. It was more like the texture/taste of the edge of a pizza crust. We finished it anyway because we paid for it, but wouldn't get it again. Salish had food but since we had already eaten we just sat up at the bar to look at their beer selection. The bar was empty except for me and my friend and it must have been near closing time because he was gone for a couple stretches at a time. After visiting the Poulsbo Viking Fest, we decided to stop in at Salish after getting off the ferry. Their outdoor patio is dog friendly, which is good because we had our pups with us. We ordered a Drop Anchor IPA and a Mother fogger Hazy, and both were excellent beers. For food, we started with the Salish fries. They were perfectly crisp and lightly seasoned, and they came with an amazing pesto aioli, and ketchup. I ordered the smoked salmon flatbread. Came with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, dill, onions, and artichoke hearts, and thick shaved parmesan cheese. It was delicious. My bf ordered the street tacos. He got one pulled pork and two fish tacos. They came with coleslaw, mango salsa, and a taco sauce. He really liked them but said the better of the two were the fish. We also ordered the kids meal 2 piece chicken strips and (unseasoned) fries for the dogs...they are spoiled rotten, and of course they loved it! Also, the honey mustard dip that came with the chicken strips was really really good! Lastly we got a Honey Golden Ale and the Mainline IPA. Two more awesome beers. I had the fish and chips, 2 giant pieces of fish and the homemade tarter sauce was so good. The hubby had the prawn po boy it had large prawns, cole slaw and the right amount of Cajun spice Oh Soo good! and the beer WOW! We will definitely be back to try something different next time. (He just turned 21 and in fact we went to this place on his birthday a few weeks ago).They said they would not honor his perfectly legal id, said that " they weren't taking that kind of id anymore". It was a big burger with the half pound patty and the bun was perfect and was able to stay in tact with everything. I highly recommend it and the pint of beer along with it was great. Perfect dark beer for warm weather. Definitely hits the spot. Can taste the coffee and chocolate. 10/10 Overall grade 9.5/10 for the food and customer service. Bartender knows what's going around in town and mentioned about an event going in town during the weekend. Bite of Edmonds. Tacos was a bit pricey for 3 - $17. Otherwise, place is exceptionally good. Definitely a good place to check out during quarantine. I got a caprizee sandwich and it was perfect. The bread had a bit of a crunch on the outside but was soft on the inside. The cheese was nicely melted with good pesto and tomorrow to round it out. The beer was also pretty good with a smooth chocolatly finish to their porter. The food was all sourced in a to go box which is to be expected around this time and they require masks before you sit down. I personally am glad they are doing a good job of following the safety guidelines. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but just like most places, it takes a bit longer to get a spot due to the seat distancing. My bestie and I stopped into Salish for a beer before continuing our adventures in Edmond's. Salish is family friendly. Large parties can easily be accommodated. Dogs are welcomed at the outside seating area. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Happy Hour is offered all day on Monday's, from 3pm-6pm Tuesday-Friday and from 9pm-Close on Friday-Saturday. Although we didn't eat, the food menu looked great. Wine is available for non-beer drinkers. My bestie had a schooner of Oatmeal Stout for $5 and I had a schooner of Juicy IPA for $5. We both enjoyed our beer choices. Our only interaction with the staff was while placing our beer orders at the counter. Unmemorable. Overall, I look forward to returning to Salish and experiencing more of what they are offering. read more
