if i could give these guys no stars, i totally would. having minor issues w my 2011 Mazda, nothing major as car is great. I do need an oil change and battery to be looked at. I called them several times to make an appointment, as it turns out they dont schedule them as its first come first serve. Unacceptable imo, several times i told them that i would be more than happy to drop my car off, let the dealership look at it and fix it but i need a loaner... no way im going to sit around all day waiting for them to diagnose and fix the problem. this is no way to treat a customer. Manager was no help whatsoever, he told me that no dealer would do that...Ugh they certainly do!!!! Bought a Mazda 3 here in August. I love it. And I particularly liked working with my salesman, Raul Jiminian. I've had occasion to be in touch with him some since then as well, and I can tell you that he's a straight-up guy. Everybody I've encountered here (I've also been in once for routine service) is friendly and professional. It's a low-pressure environment. In March 2016, we took our 2014 Mazda CX-5 in for the nationwide recall to repair the fuel line positioning. The service dept. noticed that all 4 brake rotors were extremely rusted. We had 13,000 miles on the car. They did not find that strange. They said, "it happens in NY" $900 to repair. The replacement OEM rotors started rusting within two weeks. I would think twice about purchasing a car that needs rusted parts to be replaced after 13,000 miles. It looks like Mazda does not build cars for NYC conditions. We just read a TSB about loss of steering in cx 5 is being investigated. We rated the service dept. low because Mazda, Inc told us they would have spoken to Koeppel about this issue and would have made a special deal. We are angry because it turns out this is not an isolated incident.. read more

I've been searching for an amazing dealership and this is it! Koeppel Mazda is an amazing place, and I haven't even purchased my car yet! Even before stepping into the store everyone was so nice and greeted me with such pleasure! I'm still in the midst on getting my drivers license..(yes I havent gotten my license YET) and I wanted to go shopping for some cars, because Im so excited to finally have my own car. I've been in love with the red mazdas the color is just so beautiful.... Anyway I came into Koeppel and I met with Jim Mendez who is such a nice guy.. really chill and he took me seriously from the get go, I told him that I really wanted to purchase a car right after I get my license!! Then after meeting with Jim, I met with Saiful Islam the manager and he was the coolest most sweetest guy ever!! I spoke with Saiful telling him how serious I was in getting a car, and he took me seriously... he explained that I'm young and I need a dope car to celebrate getting my license and the Mazda 6 was it! I was so enlightened with the fact that they were all so helpful. I know which car I want and I know who to go to! FINALLY, I went to other dealerships and of course those other dealerships didn't even give me light of day because I didn't have my license yet, which is total bs. But anyways Im extremely happy!!! Avoid this place at all costs. There is a man named Saiful that makes the final decisions about sales. He is dishonest, goes back on his word, and generally unpleasant. Two words for Koepell Mazda Service - STAY AWAY!!! They're an incompetent group starting from the service director Anthony, the service manager Michael and right down to their dancing mechanics. That's right, I've seen them dancing while working on cars, perhaps even yours. They cannot diagnose properly and will jack up the fees for additional parts and labor. In my case they were unable to fix and then told me I should trade it in after spending $2,500. Save your money and aggravation! I've been to other dealers with Nissans and Hondas I've owned and will expect to pay more from the dealerships but I've never been ripped of like this and still not have a working car. I love shopping but car shopping is definitely my least favorite shopping experience. Koeppel Mazda, especially Ronnie Das, made our first car lease process painless. We knew that we possibly wanted a SUV. We walked into Koeppel and Ronnie showed us the CX-5. Ronnie not only explained everything about the SUV, but also made sure to take our interests into account. I stopped by two weeks ago to check out some features in the Mazda 3. I was immediately approached by a gentleman by the name of Jim Mendez. He took his time to answer all my questions, which I must inform you that I jot down a page load before I even got there. Mr. Mendez was attentive and very professional. We went out on two test drives and it went great. I was drawn to the dealership by it's variety, not really ready to buy. However, I felt comfortable and assure that my purchase was the right one. I bought a 2010 Mazda 3 and was so elated with the treatment I received from Carlos E Velez , that I leased two additional Mazda 3's in 2012. My father-in-law leased a 2012 Mazda 6 based on my recommendation. We found Mr. Velez to be kind,personanable, low-key and very knowledgeable about the product. He was one of the best car sales people I ever dealt with. I am from Brooklyn and chose not to go to Guiffre Mazda bacause they were pushy and called my house daily. Carlos explained the costs,terms of lease agreement etc. and was not PUSHY at all. I'm reviewing the service center which I've been going for the last 4 years when I bought my Mazda 3 in 2010. The first two years was fine. But the last 2 was complete disaster - poor customer service, worst managers, dishonest recommendations. I have to say I've been had twice. I will never go back because i don't ever to be a sucker for the third time. The first unfortunate experience was bringing my car in for a scheduled 9 AM appointment for a routine maintenance, was told that it would be ready in 2 hours. When I returned at 1:30 PM to see why my car was not ready, I found my paperwork still sitting where I left at 8:50 AM. When asked why my car wasn't ready, the customer service person said they were busy and the mechanics are now on lunch. I bitched and my car was ready after 20 minutes. I bitched again to the cashier and the manager came over. He basically told me I had no reason to complain because even doctor's office keeps you waiting all the time. This was no different. I was furious and gave them a horrible review to Mazda USA. The latest was them recommending a transmission flush when I brought my car in for another routine checkup. Nothing was wrong with my car - it's been running beautifully. My appointment was 10 AM, but I dropped it off the night before. At 8:10 AM the day of service, I got a VM saying I needed to have transmission flush because the mechanics eyeballed the transmission fluid and it was dark. The procedure would cost $225. Not very auto mechanically inclined, I asked them to explain to me. They said according to the owner's manual, it needs to be done every 3 years or 30K miles. I have my car for 4 years but I didn't have 30K miles. So I asked them if it was necessary - they started saying about voiding of the warranty if I don't and something happens, blah blah blah. I consented to the service after but I didn't trust them and I had a bad feeling. I called Mazda USA and they told transmission fluid should last the life of the car and it should not be flushed unless something is wrong.... I searched the internet and almost all of the manufacturers do not recommend this procedure. At one place, this procedure is also known as wallet flush - you get the picture. I know I've been had again. Never again. Don't give them your business. They are not ethical. read more

Do not, ever go here for service. Complete con artists that recommend things you do not need. Last year they said I needed new brakes. Went to Pepboys for new brakes, and they told me I didn't need them. My car is a 2003 and has less than 60k miles. Last year they couldn't figure out why my check engine light was on. Of course it was when I need an inspection done. They finally determined there was something wrong with my computer. That cost $800 bucks, not including labor to fix. Took over two weeks bc part had to ship from CA. They did give me a loaner car at no cost. Flash forward to a year later- I go to two places to get my car inspected. Neither can get their machine to read my car. I go back to Mazda today . They feed me some bs that the other places must not have up to date software. Um no. Then claim they found something wrong and want $300 to fix it. Nope. I called bullshit and when I asked why no one but them can seem to read my car for the inspection, they blamed it on the other service places and the software they use. Then they asked me to leave when I said I should be able to do an inspection anywhere. Oh, and now my check engine light is on. It wasn't on before today. Complete crooks. Called about a specific feature on the cars that they had available and was told they had four in different colors. Of course I would go here since they had such a large selection. Once I got there, no one even bothered to look at me when I walked in the showroom. Then when we found the sales manager who I was told to look for. He said they do not have the four cars and that there must be a mistake. Jim did not bother to try to help us look at other cars, instead he was placing the blame on the person I spoke to on the phone. He sent us off and went directly to another customer that was waiting for him. Inattentive salesperson probably took one look at me and thought I would not buy a car. Too bad for him, I went across the street and bought a car from someone that was willing to work with me. I do not recommend going here even if you confirm the specific car you are looking for. I saw a Mazda3 that I liked online and clicked on to speak with a representative to ask some questions. The price stated was reasonable but I wanted to know if they were open to negotiate. The woman dodged the question and said, "We have never lost a customer due to a disagreement on price." I didn't want to waste the time going, if the price stated wasn't going to budge or worse.. be higher. She insisted that I come in and so I went. When we were there, the sales representative was nice and told us to name a number, that it is really the customer's call... Yea.... He went to his manager and apparently the internet price is the bottom line. In fact, the price on the car was at least $1000 more. Needless to say, we left. So, don't waste your time if you see an ONLINE price and expect there to be room for negotiating. I wish Vanessa would have been straight forward to tell me from the get go. we had been bringing in our mazda 5 to giuffre mazda service for years and absolutely hating the experience. consistently inept customer service folks and unending frustration. when they finally closed we had to start going to koeppel and i am delighted and relieved to have ended up with Christine as our service advisor. she is kind and helpful and goes the extra mile. she actually listens instead of just repeating the same jargon like the people at giuffre did. having to bring your car in for repair is always a pain, but at least with Christine to help us we are treated like human beings and our concerns are addressed thoughtfully. she's the best! read more

I was a little reluctant to begin my search for a new Mazda at Koeppel due to the many negative ratings. Well I have a very different result. My salesman and assistant Manager Jim Mendez was a real gentleman, honest and reasonable. I did not have to spend a lot of time at the dealership negotiating an excellent price and reached an agreeable resolution in a limited amount of time. All personnel including head Manager Saiful and finance manager Jim Bozza were very understanding of my situation. professional and very respectful. I am honored to say that for the first time I not only purchased a new Mazda I also traded in another vehicle and received an excellent offer. Overall I met many employees in the sales, service(Andrew) and parts(John) department at Koeppel and was extremely satisfied with their outstanding and efficient treatment. As a final word give Koeppel a shot when your buying or leasing a vehicle, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. read more

Man, where do I start. I did my research, brought in a quote I received online but salesman Gianfranco twisted our arm to getting another. He seemed well informed and was quite helpful actually. Because we did not have sufficient documents we were told we would get vehicle following day. Following day arrived and Gianfranco was off (you would think he would have said something), so we were placed in the hands of Francisco. No effort on his part. Did not return calls, was never available to answer calls, it was just frustrating to say the least. Spoke to manager and he just covered up the bullshit. Mind you it is now 6 days and I still have not received the vehicle. I can understand not all processes are the same but these representatives show no initiative, no interest in the buyer(you would think they would as they work on commission). And another thing why would Gianfranco forfeit his commission to Francisco. Haven't been able to hear from him as he is never at his desk or returns calls. Placed a deposit on the vehicle so it would be held from public...God knows if that's the truth being almost a week. Asked several times to cancel the deal but Francisco keeps bringing up more excuses so as to prolong the service. It is Friday, and Francisco's last response was that the representative of the financing bank is not in until the following Monday and the person who would deal with the refund is not in on weekends so I would have to wait til Monday anyway. I am just seek and tired of this and would advice anyone to really think twice about Koeppel Mazda. I think I have been quite patient..more than patient but I have had enough. I bought my new car here and have serviced it here for 4 years; trusting them to do the right thing (even though they have always made me perform services most people told me were unnecessary). I have bought 4 new tires at this dealership in the last year alone. I received a flat on one of them two months later and paid the $180 to replace it with another new one. A week later, the same tire blows out while going 20 mph on a local road. When I went to the dealership to ask if they would cover the replacement I received unprofessional treatment from the manager, Mike. He right away treated me with an attitude, didn't even look at me in the eyes, and told me to wait while they looked at the tire. After waiting for 1 hr and 15 minutes he told me that he would not cover the tire. He proceeded to tell me that I knew nothing about cars/tires. When I told him that I wanted a receipt to record my visit so I could receive a customer survey, he refused to issue me one. He was very unprofessional and I will never go back to that dealership again. I cannot believe a manager would choose to lose a loyal customer over a tire. He should go back to being a mechanic. read more

I have a very mixed opinion on this dealer. The sales department was excellent (deserves a 5). Out sales rep Raul was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. The issues that I have experienced come more from the service side of the dealer (deserves a 0). Although the advisers are helpful and sympathetic when there are problems with the vehicles, I have yet to be able to come in with a problem under warranty and have it fixed in one visit. Instead, the first visit always ends with we cannot duplicate the issue, the second time they "try something" and warn us this may not work before finally fixing it on the third or fourth visit. This whole time, they will not provide a loaner vehicle unless you argue with them or create a scene. While I now feel that Mazda build quality is sub par, if anyone chooses to purchase a Mazda, I would advise going somewhere else when the car needs service. For these reasons I average it out to a 2 read more

worst place ever do not take your car here they will take your money and not do the job right,extremely over charged, brought my rx8 for a check engine light they assured me it was the ignition coils and it would cost 680 parts and labor, so i told them fine go ahead the next day the tell me the car is ready and i pay and pick it up i drive to the gas station turn off my car and it still has the same problem turning on!! i go back and tell them that its still not fixed and they come up with some bullshit that the mechanic isnt in today to come back tomorrow so i do the mechanic said he tested it once and it was fine didnt even test it 4 or 5 times to make sure just fucking once then tells me he needa to do a compression test and nows comes to the conclusion that its the engine so basically i paid for something my car did not need when he could of done the compression test from the beginning. 4000 to change the engine. do not bring ur car here its not worth it they will take ur money. read more
