The experience was lackluster compared to other car buying experiences. Although our sales person, Jim, was very professional and respectful, it did not seem like the business was wanted. The interaction was stale and stiff, waiting for us to begin every conversation points including the sale price. The interaction was not very personable. We used TrueCar to help gauge what price we should be able to negotiate to and received offers from other dealerships. Because we've purchased from Koeppel years ago we wanted to give the return business to them. When we told them the one price given by the other dealer, they said, in a nonchalant manner, that we should go to that dealer then for the deal, as it doesn't seem right in price. Jim and Koeppel Mazda did not want to go below MSRP Sticker price at all. We did go to the another Mazda dealer and we had a much more friendlier interaction ... worked with our price and even went lower...we bought from the other dealer. Has anybody seen the Mazdas they are making today? They are friggin gorgeous! We came to look and some SUV's, CX-5 and CX-9. Both cars looks incredible inside. We we're looking at base models with the cloth seats and even those looked good. Not one bit tacky or cheap feeling. The design of the interior, the dashboard, infotainment system, buttons and dials, they are all well manufacturers and neatly designed. It's a non luxurious car brand that presents itself as a luxurious brand. I am highly impressed with the direction Mazda is going. You don't find competitors doing the same thing for the same price range. We also checked out a 2017 MX-5 RF. That car was also a beauty. Very unique exterior, comfortable, and it was also discounted. Our only experience with Mazda is our old Mazda2. We love that car to death. We're considering a new and larger Mazda and I think we have our eyes set on the CX-9 in the future. The downside of this dealership, it's small. No showroom, no amenities. It's just a Mazda dealer parking lot with a trailer basically. What I did like, the salesman do not give the pressuring approach like Major World. You can simply walk into their lot, observe and open the doors to some of the Mazdas. read more

I scheduled an inspection and servicing on July 1st. Apparently my CX-5's module couldn't be read by the NYS inspection machine because "a rodent had bitten one of the electrical wires." They were unable to do the repair that day and scheduled & subsequently confirmed an appointment for the repair on July 20th and even promised a loaner vehicle for that day. On July 19th I received a text that my appointment was cancelled because of a two week delay at their shop for diagnostics. And of course, no loaner car was available. I'm not sure why I needed to wait another 14 days for a diagnostic when I just waited 19 days for my appointment. In any event, I brought my car to a local repair shop where it was determined that my car never needed a diagnostic. A cursory inspection by the mechanic revealed that an electrical wire had popped out with everything functioning properly when plugged back in. My car was inspected and I was charged only $37 for the NYS inspection. I'm not sure why Mazda's mechanics who are presumably experts in Mazda's electrical systems, couldn't find the simple problem on July 1st but I will never bring my Mazda to Koeppel for servicing ever again. And every week Koeppel sends me a letter offering to buy my Mazda for $20,000 so I'll presumably buy a new one for $42,000. Not interested. read more

Updated review. Took in my Mazda under the maintenance plan for a simple oil change. Worker took the oil out, but forgot to add the oil back. Engine seized. Luckily, they took responsibility and replaced the engine. While the work was being performed they did provide a loaner...the CX-9. I really loved the extra room and the captain seating in the CX-9, plus I had a bad tasted after my engine seized in my CX-5, so I decided to do a trade in to purchase the 2021 Cx-9. I love the car, but then the headaches followed with the financing department. Koeppel had a problem with their check so Mazda Financial never received it. This meant that I was still responsible for the CX-5 payments on the car I no longer owned and for the new payments on the CX-9. Mazda Financial would not communicate with Koeppel Mazda to solve the issue. They made me do all the legwork. Good luck getting in touch with Steve, the financial guy, at Koeppel Mazda. He only magically appears when he is making money off of you from a sale and trying to push extended warranties and tire warranties on you. I also wanted to change my finance from 60 months 2.99% to the 36 month 0.9% 24 hours after signing the paperwork and he told me he couldn't do it. "Just pay it early like a 36 month finance, there is no penalty" he told me. God forbid he had to do a little more paperwork and help me, the customer, by saving me 2 percent apr on the loan. The car was sold on November 13th 2021. Today is January 5th, 2022, and I'm still getting the runaround by Koeppel Mazda that they sent the new check. I called Mazda Financial and they still haven't received any payment from Koeppel Mazda and they are still telling me that I am responsible for the CX-5 and the CX-9. Now they are adding late fees on the CX-5 because I refuse to pay since I deeded the car over the Koeppel November 13th. Mazda Financial refuses to call Koeppel Mazda, and they keep telling me I have to make all the calls. These aren't 2 minute calls either. You have to dedicate 30 minutes to 1 hour to try to reach a live person. This has been frustrating, stressful, and disappointing. I hate to leave a negative review, but I am running out of patience. My issue is not getting resolved. I am also trying to get a mortgage for a house and this is effecting my credit and mortgage process. I am no longer recommending Koeppel Mazda or Mazda Financial. read more

It was a terrible experience! It was extremely busy which I understand. I waited 30 minutes after my appointment time. When I did get someone to help me they told me inventory was low and then I'd have to wait for a vehicle . Which I understood. What I did not appreciate was the person whose name I do not remember try to talk over me to my significant. Now I could say because my significant other is a man maybe that's why He wanted to talk to him instead of me. But I won't say that because I can't say that. When I try to negotiate on an upcoming vehicle the representative that I was with told me there's no wiggle room and that I will not be able to get this vehicle for the price that I wanted because corporate sets the prices. I visited Koeppel Mazda in August 2023 to browse the used car inventory and pre-owned specialist Pokhrel had a friendly demeanor but never followed up on any of my inquiries. I recently revisited the dealership as I wanted to re-invest in my community and had the pleasure of speaking with pre-owned specialist Lebron. After several text exchanges with Lebron he suggested/promised that negotiations would be best if I went to speak to the manager in person. On 12/11/23 pre-owned sales manager Corsey refused to budge on pricing although they have quite a large number of CX-30s sitting on the lot which affects their dealership (new/used) floor plan. I was extremely disheartened & disrespected, and ultimately had to walk off the lot after Corsey stated that she wasn't willing to negotiate as she could get more money for the cars by selling them at an auction. Lebron tried his best but repeated the same "auction" message and further stated that Koeppel Mazda wouldn't prioritize servicing my car if it was purchased at another Mazda dealership. While I understand the business model it is awful to make people feel that they're just a number. Perhaps their new slogan should be "I can get a better car deal at the auction." You may want to reconsider visiting this dealership altogether. read more

The visit was right before we were scheduled for a long vacation, Unfortunately, there were technical challenges that required Koppel to hold our car for additional servicing. With our vacation scheduled the following day, this was a major concern for us. The service team under Carlos Perez, went far over and above expectations to make sure our vacation could continue. This was a textbook example of how to work with lemons to create lemonade. During the entire time, Carlos and his team provided clear, professional communications. We also visited during the COVID quarantine and noted the level of care the entire staff made to ensure our car was protected. I recently stopped in to buy a pre-owned 2016 CX5 GT. I haven't bought a used car in a long time and walked away with an overall positive feeling after dealing with Wilfred and Arthur on the Pre-owned side. I didn't feel too rushed and was able to test drive a few different models over the course of a few hours. I also had to have a little bit of service done at the service center and Jeanette was extremely helpful and made the process pretty painless. Carlos also helped out and was patient too. They didn't rush me out the door and sat with me to address all of my concerns. Overall, the employees here were friendly, helpful, and patient on both sides. I had a problem with my car over the past weekend so I called the dealer to schedule an appointment and was able to be scheduled for the same week. Over the phone I was told I might have to leave the car so I requested a rental car. When I got to my appointment I was told there were no cars available due to covid and that I'd have to leave my car until Monday to be seen(it was Thursday). I need my car so I told them I'd come back another day when a rental was available which was supposedly in October. My service advisor, Donna and I guess he was a manager, Carlos were kind and extremely helpful and instead of letting me leave and come back another day, they had my car looked at immediately. They listened to all of the issues I was having and explained everything important to me. Even the mechanic who worked on my car, Hector was great. He went above and beyond and went on a ride with me to see the issues my car was having and explained what was wrong and what could/would be done. I've never spoken to a mechanic so thorough and patient in all of the cars I've owned/leased. Although I don't completely love my vehicle itself, the service I received from this Mazda location exceeded my expectations especially during a pandemic. read more

A week ago I walked out of Koeppel Mazda leasing a 2018 cx9 touring with premium package with a big smile on my face. Out of all the cars I have test driven, (Dodge, Nissan, Volkswagen, Toyota) I felt Mazda cx9 was the best package, it didn't compromise on any one of the things I had on my list. It feels luxurious inside and outside, the drive, all the safety features, the seats, the space, all the reasons why I wanted this car versus the other ones. I have been to multiple dealerships before deciding on Mazda and the reason why cx9 was the final choice is because of the grand feeling that I got after sitting in the car and most importantly the service I have received from Chris Castro, the Sales Expert and Saiful Islam, the Sales Manager. In one week I have gone back to this dealership multiple times to decide what I want and every time I went I never felt like I needed to sit down and make a decision because the team at Koeppel Mazda wants you be happy with the car you select. Chris had explained me the differences between the trims multiple times upon asking with out any hesitations. In my life every time I walked into a car dealership I thought to myself, I was just a dollar sign to them but in Koeppel Mazda I felt otherwise with Chris and Saiful. Saiful understood our needs and our budget and worked with us with the numbers. He is very straight forward and honest about what he was able to work out or not, there were no beating around the bush, no false hope. All the things Saiful said he can do in our first conversation, he actually came through and served us exactly that. I appreciated his approach very much and felt comfortable doing business with him. I will never recommend Bill or Saiful to anyone. If you are a WOMAN, please be aware that you will be considered indecisive for taking the time to think and reconsider whether what color or trim level you like. I've drove for a couple of years with either a friend's car or a family car, I decided to finally go lease or finance a car that I became really interested. I test drives from CX 3,5,9 and settled with CX-5, never really realized all these packages and/or had a understanding of it. I went to Bill asking a price for a CX-5 Touring, he introduced the preferred package to me, but never recommended the Grand Touring, when it has everything included from the sport and touring. I had to find out from another dealer. Also, from the dealer that actually gave me all this information, she also gave me a very pleasant number for the lease. After going back and forth with Bill and my other dealer, Bill proceeds to call my relative to give him this final offer along with a $3000 down payment "finalizing this is how much you pay per month and with $3000 down payment. Overall, he wanted us to go in the next day for this offer and we did go. I gave him the confirmation that "I will see you tomorrow in the afternoon". Before I even left Brooklyn to Queens, I confirmed once more with the operator and she said Bill called in sick so he's not coming in today. I'm here wondering, why would you tell me to go in when you call in last minute to call out and don't bother letting us know. Anywho, I figured since he had to go through his manager to get some prices out, I'll look for the manager, Saiful. He comes out with a price range, nonetheless it was a rip off, having the down payment stick with $3000 and increasing the lease payment by another $79. What a joke. I'm glad to say I will take my business elsewhere. And also, if anyone is interested in knowing these prices of what Saiful gave me. They told me my clutch was burnt out and not driveable and that I needed other emergency repairs for a total of $3,000. I refused and picked up the car and drove it home to Connecticut 50 miles away strait to my local shop. Came in for a recall I had with my car. Was helped by Maria who was awesome and very helpful. Only thing is I think it's a typical car dealership where they try and up charge everything. Was told my oil was bad even tho I got it changed a week before. They showed me the dip stick and the oil was perfectly fine so I think they try and get people to pay for an oil change when it's not needed. Also tried to get me to replace filters in my car even tho it's only a year old. Just watch out for unnecessary charges read more

So once again, Koeppel has completely come through on all things service! Carlos Perez and Maria Alvarez made everything so easy when I brought my CX-9 in for its first service appointment. Everything that I was told would be checked was. Every question I had was answered. A screw that was lodged in my tire, unbeknownst to me, was fixed. Maria told me that I could wait for the car, but it would be a 1.5-2 hours before the car would be ready. They took the car into service at 11:36 and I was back in it ready to drive out at 1:35. All this is just the way they do business at Koeppel. By the way, they have an awesome sitting area with leather chairs, coffee, tea, donuts, and other snacks while you wait. We had a series of questions about the used car we were set on purchasing, things that a simple maintenance report should be able to provide, but each time we asked, we were told "don't worry about it" or "I don't know". We weren't worried about it, but you saying that sure made us! It was a series of terrible events with this dealer, one after another, that we had already agreed to give $25,000 in cash to for a used vehicle that we couldn't even get a simple maintenance report for.
