The chain is really delicate, so they did charge me $45 so that they could put another layer of gold over it to make it a bit more sturdy. I liked that they were proactive about that and let me know! They put great deal of care into measuring my wrist and making things just right. The bracelet was ready to pickup within a week and looks even better than how I left it! It fits perfectly and I am so grateful. They also have a VERY sweet dog who roams around the shop. I had a great time with the pup while they pulled up my order and info in the back.

Here's how it works - you block out a whole day (it takes at least 5-6 hours, usually). Maru (the jeweler, she's great!) works with you to decide on the appearance of your ring - what kind of metal, what shape, how wide/big, etc. (You don't need prior knowledge, but I recommend going to a jeweler to just look around at rings first. You can try on different styles and see which ones you like best. The Wedding Ring Workshop has a bunch of examples, but not as many as a large jeweler does. And trust me, there's a huge difference between 4mm rounded and 6mm flat.) Once you decide on what you want your rings to look like, you get started. You actually melt the metal, pour it into a mold, shape it, anneal it, polish it, and many other metal-working terms that I now forget. Maru's there to help if you need it, but you'll end up doing most of the work yourself (unless you want something complicated). The best part - you make your partner's ring, and your partner makes yours. Lunch is included, and so is a bottle of bubbly for the end of the day! Another piece of advice - they have open houses periodically, and I think you should go to one if you're thinking of doing the workshop. You get to see the process and start thinking of the type of metal you want. This was a really great experience - yes, it's a bit more expensive than just buying your rings at a jeweler (the price actually depends on the cost of the metal when you book the workshop), but how cool is it to say that you made each other's wedding ring?

I purchased a diamond from Tom and we planned to have it set into a wedding band that me and my fiancée designed with Toms help. That was not at all what happened. After paying you can expect to wait months for any help with having your diamond set in the setting that you want or have agreed upon. We were told that our setting for the diamond we purchased would be ready within two weeks. After hearing nothing for 3 week, it took many emails to even get Tom to show us some options for the ring, all of which were nothing like we had told him that we wanted. After over three months of giving us the run around with excuse after excuse he attempted to pass us off to another person who he said "could help us in a more timely manner". Tom never checked in with us or gave us any updates, it was only when I would email to find out what was going on that he would inform me of the news that he had no work had been done on the ring yet. Tom never did get us a ring. After 3 months we no longer felt comfortable using him and bough a setting elsewhere. When we ask him to reimburse us the cost of having our diamond set at another jeweler he told us that he was not responsible for our decision to go to elsewhere. This, despite the fact that he told us 2 weeks for the finished product and we didn't even have a design after 3 months. He went on to blame us for going elsewhere to purchase a different ring and not consulting him first. Once again told us how much he would have been willing to help us and what he would do for us if we had of gone through him. This was the exact same thing he told me for over 3 months when waiting for him start working on our ring. He once again came up with a list of excuses and shifted blame for his failure to build our ring. Tom will tell you how much he is willing to help get you what you want, how good the quality of his work is and how much he can save you, but I found none of these things to be true. Tom fell short on every aspect of what he said he would do for us and because his customer service was nonexistent we were left in the dark for months on end.
