Kohala coffee is one of my go-to spots Their banana bread cold brew latte is soooo good and the white gummy energy drink is a fave too. I will say it can be a little inconsistent sometimes depending on who's working, but when it's good it's REALLY good. Prices aren't bad at all, they have a solid rewards system, and their happy hour specials are worth it. Plus my kids are obsessed with the cookies & cream milkshakes

Kiani and Justine were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. They ALWAYS are. They treat my client and I so very well and never get irritated with how much times I'm at their counter with yet another request. They accommodate our every need and always make us feel, not just welcomed, but also like a part of the Kohala Coffee family. Thank you ladies, you have no idea how much your positive vibes impact our day and we appreciate that oh so very much!! Oh and...as always...the coffee was perfect!! These beautiful women deserve a raise

Is this your large? Cup is large, liquid more like a regular or even less.

Ordered a large latte. This is what I got. Glad I took the lid off. Plus top inch is whipped cream. Sad. Won't come back. Stars for taste only. Spoke to the girl at the counter. She tried to say the liquid was higher and then cream on top. Lost one star. Customer service sucks.

I've been coming here when they first opened during the pandemic. Customer service has always been awesome - even at the height of the pandemic, the staff was always courteous, authentic and just good people. The coffee is tasty, furniture is comfortable, prices are reasonable, WiFi is good and overall great cafe. I've hit up all the coffeeshop on Hilo side and Kohala Coffee is top notch.

So cool! They have so many options! I wanted to try their coffee, teas, lemonades, white hot chocolate, but I was only able to go once during my stay in Pahoa. I ended up with the chai tea latte which was very good. The drive thru is open so it's safer!

    Waiting to order.

We got the honey lavender and s'mores cold brew. Honey lavender taste exactly what it sounds haha. It's good. The staff here are super personable and nice. Although, the coffee isn't that strong. Kinda taste watered down.

First time visiting this cute coffee shop. It's new in Pahoa and the ladies working while I visited were friendly. Seems like a great place to grab something to drink and meet up with friends.

My go-to drink I got 3 days in a row while I was back home was the Iced Breve - espresso with cream, with no sweetener & no added flavor. It was perfect for me. I wish I got the large every day I was there. Because I was busy with things throughout the day. It kept me alert & awake with no crash (which most coffee does to me :( ) - but the breve from here didn't. For those watching their sugar intake, or wanting a keto-friendly drink with a good balance of espresso coffee & cream fat, I highly recommend this. All the other coffee shops I went to while on Oahu, I couldn't find breve on the menu. I first tried this place a while back in 2017, my cousin brought us here. And got the Iced Toddy, cold brewed coffee, which was way too strong for me at that time. We went inside this time, it's a small shop. It's a drive-thru as well, so it's perfect when it's raining out. Service is 5 stars as well. All of the drinks we got were onoliscious, no complaints. I miss this place. I will do my best to make my own at home till I come back. Mahalo & Alohaaa!

That alone meant so much. From the moment I arrived, Paul made me feel special. He greeted me with a warm smile, seated me at a beautifully decorated birthday table, and surprised me with a birthday sash and crown. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly touched my heart and made me feel celebrated on my special day. I enjoyed fresh-squeezed orange juice and the Belgian waffle with bacon. The waffle was absolutely delicious--beautifully presented with fresh fruit and whipped cream, and honestly the best waffle I've ever had. A huge mahalo to Paul and his team for making my birthday so memorable. The food was outstanding, but it was the kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality that made this experience unforgettable. 12/10 Highly recommend!

And you need a reservation. The tiny restaurant only has three two person tables (the other party of four had two pushed together). And it is only open Wednesday thru Saturday, 7:30am- 2pm. I made the reservation for my friend's Birthday lunch by text. It is conveniently located by the farmers market, and there is plenty of free parking in the area. The space is airy, and on our visit, decorated for Easter. We were immediately greeted by Paul. The restaurant is staffed by him, and one other employee. The menu is short, and all the better for it. Paul explained the menu and gave us recommendations. I was already interested in the Pasta de Marco, which appears to be a part of a regular menu. Angel hair pasta, lightly fried, tossed with fresh veggies and pesto, and lightly toasted baguette on the side. We also had the tuna, two ways, and papaya salad. Both were perfect, incredibly fresh, all ingredients balanced, beautifully presented. Paul had us end with the Belgium waffle. I've had waffles in Belgium, and these were the best I've had. Crispy, soft, with berries, whip cream, and powdered sugar, it didn't even need the (warm!) syrup. This experience felt like being a guest in the chef's home. Paul treated all customers as a friend, he was funny, relaxed, and personable. I also personally appreciated it is the safest restaurant for me to eat at as he hates bell peppers as much as I do! The only disappointment when the meal ended. Mahalo!

Mostly in mint color, the interior is simple and yet it does emit a lot of cuteness. What was eye catching to us was the swing inside at one of the side windows. Whether it's okay for a person to actually sit on it to enjoy a little swing time is something I didn't find out from the young lady who manned the upfront bar by herself, if it's solely as a decorative piece to create the kind of ambiance this place suits to manifest, it does do a lot to attract visitors' attention. The lady was quiet and yet kind enough to give us everything we needed for the late morning walk into the town. My daughter and I wanted to split quads of espresso shots so that was our only order and yet we needed two separate cups with lots of ice in each cup with a little side cream (half and half) so we could make our own iced latte or cappuccino later (we didn't want ice immediately after the espresso was made as it would have diluted the coffee had it been made that way. Sounded like it was a little too much to ask which we felt a bit awkward. The kind lady simply did everything for us. Thanks to her for being so accommodating to our demanding needs!!) The shop is located from other businesses oceanfront so it's walkable to other things as long as you are talking "the center of Hilo". So for the location, convenience, cute ambiance and patience in service, we enjoyed our quick pick up experience while we were in town.
