The food was great! I had the Pho beef combination- onolicious! Beef in every bite. It was a rainy day and it hit the spot. You don't have to go all the way to Hilo for some great Vietnamese food anymore! Vans 2 has become a go to for me when I'm craving pho. The broth is nice, not overly sweet like some places make it. I have also tried some of the other dishes and they were tasty as well. The customer service is always good, no matter if I dined in or opted for take out. This 2nd Van's location is just as good as the one in Hilo. I actually liked the Banh Mi (sandwiches) from this one better. Hubby and I got Combo Pho, chicken pho, egg roll, summer spring rolls and Van Style banh mi. Pho broth was delicate but full of flavor. Portions were good- lots of meats and noodles. The summer rolls were full of noodles, shrimp, gai and a little bit of veggies (the way they're supposed to be). The egg rolls were made the traditional way with mushrooms, pork, carrots and noodles. They were crispy and not oily. The sandwich was packed with flavor- pickle veggies, light mayo, meats and the bread was soft but crispy. Definitely coming back. read more

Wow! This sandwich was amazing. I got the tofu sandwich cause I don't eat much meat and it was so delicious. My friend got the Chicken Sandwich and said it was good all the way to the last bite. I can not wait to go back and order more. The bread was perfect and the veggies were so crisp. We did a call in order and they had it ready so fast. They were helpful and friendly. Wonderful food and great service. We stopped in for lunch and had pho, pork spring rolls and got pork banh to go for later in the day. All were good. I've ordered from here twice. When you don't feel good, there is nothing better than a bowl of pho. Both the flank and eye-round bowls of pho were fantastic. Meat portions are a bit small, but not unexpected on the islands. The spring rolls need some basil in them, but plenty came with the soup, so I was fully satisfied. Stopped in for a takeout order 10mins before they closed on a whim since a different business in pahoa had listed hours that said they would be open but when we got there they weren't. We felt bad for coming in so close to closing but the employee working the counter was very gracious and happily took our order. They provided great customer service and the food was delicious! Got a variety of things from them and everything was perfect. Found them by mishap of another restaurant but it was the best kind of accident.
