Would the rather flimsy fork and no knife be enough? Oh yeah! The brisket just about fell apart. It was moist, which is hard to achieve; usually it's dried out. It was lightly sauced, enough to complement the meat, not drown it. The corn ears were juicy, also not dried out. I'll be looking for this truck next time I'm on the Hilo side! Gotta try those ribs.

What I mean by that is that it was under-seasoned and didn't have any smoky flavor you're probably used to or crave when wanting BBQ. Some parts were a tad dry, but what saved it was their spicy BBQ sauce. It's very flavorful with a good kick. The coleslaw was bland and watery, but I don't necessarily gravitate towards the side dishes, so this doesn't sway my opinions on the rating very much. My focus is the meats. Look, if you're looking to satisfy that BBQ craving here in Hilo this will get the job done. Give them a try out!

She's the kind of person who remembers what you ordered last time and tells you honestly what's good. As for the food... Bacon Blue Burger: My husband had this last time and it was yum. Juicy, flavorful, hits all the right rich notes without being greasy. That one's a solid order. Ribs: The barbecue sauce was really good... but the ribs themselves were dry and overdone. Later we see it's the first car parked which meant it wasn't forced to leave. So much for ohana kiddo. We return after 5pm the official entry time, and there are at least ten cars parked.
