Pretty good place to stop if you're in the mood for Indian food. I had the Chicken Tandoori with some vegetable samosas. The chicken was really good but the flavor seemed a bit lackluster. I was hoping something a little stronger. I had chicken tandoori in Canada once and loved that distinct flavor but it could be different places have slightly different takes on the spices. Loved the veggie samosas though! They were really hot and whatever sauce I used for dipping, it made them extra tasty! And their rice was good too! I forget the name of the dish my sister got but I actually liked that more than mine because it had a more intense flavor while also adding some slight heat. So if I would have gotten her dish instead of mine, I probably would rate this a 5. Either way the food was good and a strong choice if you're looking for something different for dinner. read more

Everything was delicious! I'd probably skip the cucumber raita next time though because although it was yummy, it didn't come with any naan bread or anything and I think it is more of a dip than a soup, and it was kind of expensive for what it was. I'd go for lunch on a weekday if we came again because they do daily lunch specials that looked delicious and like a good bang for your Buck. read more

Kohinoor is one of the best options for Indian in Utah. I've eaten there consistently for the past 12 years or so. Always good. Always good service. Always ready on time. Consistent consistent consistent. I recommend the paneer instead of chicken. It's a firm cheese that they put in the gravy. I'm not a vegetarian and I get paneer every time. Absolutely phenomenal. Some of the best Indian food I've ever had! Will certainly be back and I cannot recommend it enough. We got the butter chicken and the chicken tikki masala. Also got the samosa for appetizer and the garlic and butter naan. Wow!!! You can't get enough naan. Just remember that. I thought it was a toss up between the butter and garlic naan. Can't go wrong. I liked the butter chicken better than the tikki masala, but both were amazing. Also, the server, Patrick, was one of the harder workers I've seen. They win awards, but still seem to be unknown to most, so they are rarely busy so that means you get in and seated fast! Their food is delicious! The rice is amazing, all of their curries are delicious and their cheese bread is a favorite! If you haven't checked them out yet, go! Haven't been here in a while and was very excited to go. I was extremely disappointed to see how small they have made their portions!! It is $16 for a butter chicken that is half the size as the old one. The left photo is the new portion and the right photo is the old portion. The food still tastes really good but 2 curry dishes barely fed 3 people! And then don't nearly give enough rice and you have to keep ordering more! I just don't know if I can justify the price for the portion size! I am so sad because this was my favorite Indian place! read more

Kohinoor has been here for quite a few years now and it easy to forget. Don't. When it first opened it was an inferior clone of the other Punjabi places in the area. The cuisine hasn't changed, but it's improved over time. The place delivers excellent food, has nice lunch specials. No buffet, even in regular times. I prefer that. There is a bit of kheer in the lunch special to finish the meal, and it's perfect. On the last trip I broke from getting lamb dishes and went with the chicken. It was cooked properly, and there was a lot of flavor. Anytime we go back after a few months of not having been there, we wonder why we don't come more. We love this place, there are a ton of great indian places in Utah County but this is the one we always come to because the service is fast and good, and the food is reasonably priced, and portions are great. We love the mango lassi here too, it's nice and thick and not too sweet. The butter chicken and tikka masala are our normal order (like most people), but their lamb vindaloo is also very good. Their take out is very fast as well if you don't want to eat in. But you should definitely consider this place. read more

Kohinoor is a recent find for us, but a welcome addition to our favorite restaurants. They have great menu choices, all of our favorites. Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Biryani are our favorites for dinner. They also have great lunch options which we like for business meetings. My only observations that are anything less than positive is that the service is typically slow and it would be nice if the decor was a little more authentic (compared to Bombay House for example). read more

My in-laws had a coupon for this place through one of those major online coupon companies that I forget the name of, and they invited us to join them. We gave it to them before we ordered and they waited until after we had ordered and they brought out the food to tell us that they didn't know how to accept the coupon and that they wouldn't honor it. That was annoying. The food was decent, but they were understaffed, so we waited around awhile for our order to be taken and for the check to be brought out. Worth it if you're craving Indian food and the other local restaurants are booked out, but not my first choice going forward. read more

I stumbled across this lovely family run restaurant recently when I was in town around dinner time with a couple hours to kill. Not wanting to land in another chain restaurant, I pulled into the parking lot (the sign outside boasted best Indian food in town-how could I deny that?) and I ventured inside. I was quickly seated and given a menu to review. My wife joined me a few minutes later (we were meeting up from being at different places) and we placed our orders. The nice young man that was taking our orders appeared to be very young (early teens) and was extremely polite and attentive. I love to see family operated businesses that give the kids a chance to learn. The food was fantastic-flavors were on point, naan was just the right texture and flavor and there was plenty of food to save for later. I would recommend that they do something to heat the bathroom. In the dead of winter, the potty is so cold-I'm not sure that room in insulated at all. Brrr.... read more

Hate starting 2022 with a poor review! Unfortunately the service was downright horrible and it was FREEZING inside the restaurant tonight. I had to keep my ski coat to on keep from freezing. My hands were like icicles. There was a massive Siberian-like draft as-if they had a window open or something. It took over an hour from the time we placed our order until it was delivered to the table and there were only three other tables with people. I was just about to get up and leave to go somewhere else when they finally brought the food. I've been here many times before and had great experiences in the past but tonight was a complete miss! So disappointing. Most of the food was okay but the butter chicken had a mass of unstirred salt - like getting a literal spoonful of salt in your mouth. (No, a spoonful of salt doesn't make the poor service go down). Don't think up be back any time soon. read more

Kohinoor has great food. The Paneer Masala, naan, chutneys, samosas, etc. were excellent. Unfortunately the service is what I'd refer to as "bored." Like yo, wake up! Nap time's over! The restaurant was whisper quiet with no music, and then to top it off the employees seem like they have complete contempt for all patrons (not exactly a surprise because customers usually suck, just an observation) but boy do the people working here not hide it at all. This is a restaurant, not the DMV. You don't need to smile or anything, just maybe look me in the eye or give me my check? Or just ask if we need anything? Idk I felt like I was in trouble or sent to the principal's office or something. I get that it's a Saturday night and nobody wants to be working, but it was just very uncomfortable to eat here. Anyway this will be a takeout experience from now on. That's what I'd recommend to minimize contact with the Vulcan armada. read more

Naan bread is awesome. Other curries and meals are also great here. The mango lemonade is also to die for. We just moved to Arizona and are having a hard time finding a place that measures up. Really good Indian food but I felt like the portions were small for the price I paid compared to other Indian restaurants. One order of chicken tiki masala at other restaurants came with enough to feed 2 people where the serving size here was enough for 1. However, that could be because of inflation. The food is great but the service is atrocious. They get my order wrong all the time but I don't mind that too much. What I do kind is being blamed and being told I ordered something I didn't. I mean I shouldn't have to pull out my receipt to prove something like that. This last order was the final straw. I got home after picking up my food only to find it was wrong again. I call and they first blame me for ordering something else until I get them to pull up the order on their end. Then he tells me to come exchange it and hangs up on me mid sentence. I show up and they are not willing to do a single thing to make up for the wrong order or making me drive up and back home twice. Pretty good Indian, more like 3.5 stars which is still a fair rating! Ordered take-out one night and got chicken coconut korma and lamb vindaloo with a side of naan. Both dishes had good flavor, especially the korma. But there wasn't as much meat in either dish, and no potatoes in the vindaloo which I'm used to. Rice was a tad crunchy on some bites, although the naan was spot-on! With so many great Indian places closer to me, this one won't be a frequent flyer for us. But we had a coupon to try it out and there's also a drive-thru for convenience which is nice. If you want Indian food quick at a good price, then come here. If you're looking for a nice Indian sit-down though you're probably better off with another place. Not bad! I'll have to come back and see if 2nd time is the charm. read more

This place has the best tasting naan, it is perfectly chewy and soft in the middle. The dishes are just okay though. I was expecting more flavor and essence. What wasn't okay was the rice that wasn't even basmati. How can you call yourself an Indian restaurant when you don't serve Indian rice? :-) Not sure I will be back. I had been hoping to try this place for a while and was finally able to find a weekday lunch so that I could try the lunch special (to try more of a variety). Parking is a little bit tricky, but the south side is easier. The restaurant is clean and decorated nice. The food itself was decently good. Minus the burned naan. Tried the vegetable masala and Aloo Mattar. Flavor was good. Portions not huge. But they do give a little salad and a little rice pudding as well. The service was terrible. It took a really long time to flag down our waiter to ask for some new naan. And when we did he came back and asked to take the bread to show, as if they didn't believe me that it was burned. That was the only time he came by until he brought our check. Not a big fan of empty drinks.... One other disappointment was that online it says that chicken tikka masala is available as part of the lunch special every day. But that was not an option for us.
