I'm not a big fan of Thai food so saying that upfront. I came with a large family group and the wait was long and some family members had to wait a while longer for their food. The food was fine. Nothing that blew my socks off. Only one man seemed to be working as he took our orders, was our cashier and I suspect did most of if not all of the cooking. Cute Thai restaurant we stopped at after hiking in the Timps. We ordered dumplings to share (they were ok) and I got the drunken noodles with tofu. I liked that the tofu was fried and that it had a good portion/variety of veggies not just bell peppers and onions, but didn't have much noodles. Spice on the table was actually spicy. This place is adorable and has a plethora of flowers all over to look at. It's a renovated house that makes you feel like you're at a friends and they are cooking for you. The only down side is the wait time. We waited about 20 minutes to order, which wouldn't be long, but we were the only party in the restaurant at the time. We also waited a long time to get the check and boxes, so just keep that in mind if you're in a time crunch. The food was solid, and we enjoyed the sampler platter and the massaman curry. The yellow curry was ok, but not our favorite version we have had. All in all, the portions were smaller than we are used to with Thai places, so maybe order more than you usually do if you want leftovers. This is a mid-range Thai restaurant set in a quaint former residential building. The service was great but the food was average. My favorite part of the meal was the tom ka gai. The worst part of the meal was the Pad Thai. The noodles looked and tasted to linguini. All the rest of the food was fairly good tasting but I wouldn't call it authentic Thai. Back at Thai House for my 3rd or 4th time now. They have a location in Pleasant Grove and American Fork, although I've only tried the Pleasant Grove location. Both restaurants are located in these cute, old style houses, which is fun. To be fully honest the ambience is a little odd. My boyfriend and I have been sat in a pretty secluded room with no music and other parties so it can be a little quiet or awkward sometimes. Some nights are busy and you don't notice there's no music, but it can be weird haha. The food is great. I got the yellow curry with veggies and my boyfriend got the yellow curry with chicken. Very delicious and a huge serving, along with lots of rice. We did wait quite awhile for our food and drinks this time and there seemed to be a small mess up which made my boyfriend's order take pretty long. The service wasn't great this time, but when I've been in the past I haven't had an issue. read more

I've been here twice in the past few times and had two very different experiences. The first time (in October) I got there early to get a table for my group (7 people). I was shown to a table and brought some waters and didn't see the waiter again until the rest of my party showed. It was on a weekday afternoon so I imagine they just didn't have many people working. Once my group arrived, about 10 minutes later the we had our drink order taken then later the food. Everything came out hot and tasted fresh, just the service was a little lacking throughout. After we finished eating it took a while to get our check and for someone to come up and let us pay when we were trying to leave. Everyone overall was happy with the food, there was a lot of curry, fried rice, and pho ordered (I don't remember the specific dishes) and the only issue was one person's food was spicier than they expected, but I would say that happens frequently with curry. The second time was a much better experience! There looked to be only one person working the front and when we (2 people) arrived there was only one other group there. The waiter (different person than the first time) was super attentive. We both ordered the thai tea and he offered to make it sweeter or more bitter to match our taste. Honestly, it was already perfect the way it came out. It was a little bitter but in the way tea is bitter. He came and checked on us multiple times and was very apologetic when I ordered something they were out of. I did appreciate that he knew they were out of it before going back to the kitchen though because I believe it's worse to find out after expecting them to have it. I ordered Pad Thai and it was the best I've tried so far! Full disclosure, it was only the third time I've ordered it, but dang it was good! I always try to only eat half of what I ordered so I can eat more the next day, but I ate the Pad Thai so fast I honestly considered ordering another plate for the next day. My husband had the soup (can't recall the name) and said it was amazing and also ate the whole thing. I honestly wished we had room to eat more because everything was so good. Towards the end of our visit, a couple more groups showed up, but our waiter stayed attentive making sure to clear plates and fill water as it was gone and check in with us if we needed anything. I wish I remembered his name because I'd love to give him a shout out. He was a younger guy and it was December 22 when he was working. This is my all time favorite restaurant. My family and I love eating here regularly. The food is phenomenal, the portion sizes are generous, and the service is exceptional. It's in a historic house in downtown pleasant grove, it's always a treat to either dine in or take out. I noticed a couple of reviews noting the speed of service could be improved. Honestly, it is very much worth the wait, especially knowing that we're supporting a family run business. BEST CURRY Their pumpkin curry was cooked to perfection! The Masaman Curry was to DIE FOR! The coconut soup was good, but the mushrooms and tomatoes were so big it was hard to eat. The House was cute! It was warm, but a little crowded. If you go during the day it's a bit less crowded but dinner on a Saturday night was packed. My only complaint was the service. The owners are so kind and make everyone feel welcome. The staff were nice, but one waitress imparticular was not so nice. She would tell us the dish name, but then after we couldn't hear her she wouldn't repeat it and just handed it to us. She gave us all the wrong dishes. No one asked us if we wanted drinks. We weren't asked for to go boxes. In fact we weren't checked on our whole meal except for when they took our order. It made it difficult because we wanted drinks but couldn't get anyone to help us. We also wanted dessert but after having the bill dropped off and not asked if we wanted anything else we just left. I'm giving this place a 4. The restaurant was decently clean and the service was good. The food was decent. Nothing wow about it. I will however say that they are VERY VERY kid friendly! I took my 11mo old son on a mommy and me date and the brought out his own little cup of water and a plastic plate and put the food down on the table away from his reach!!! Everywhere I have been has never done that! Either the waitress is a mom and gets it or the owner trains them that way or both! Either way as a mom I really really appreciated that fact! The other night I was in picking up for myself, and the chef came to the front and asked if there were any guava candies left under the hostess stand. The hostess just turned to him and went "there's none left, you ate them all!" I now know I should be tipping in guava candies from now on! My ONLY complaint is it's as quiet as a library in there! Ok, this place is located inside the cutest old house and I loved that!! Now I wish more places did that. Unfortunately the food wasn't as good as the location. The portions aren't as big as I'm used to getting at a Thai restaurant, and the chicken wasn't very good quality...at least that was my experience with the Pad Him a Parm. The Pad Thai was yummy although they forgot to put chicken on it. Maybe that was a good thing? Haha. I also found a hair in my rice, which is never something you want to find when eating dinner. The staff wasn't super friendly but they did give us a little discount for getting an order wrong. I was super stoked when we walked in, but my experience after that was good, not great. Some dishes were yummy, and others were forgettable. They forgot to put any chicken in my Chicken Pad Thai. I have been to this quaint restaurant a handful of times. The food is always exceptional but the speed of service is severely lacking. Last night around 6:45 p.m. I walked in to just order one takeout dessert. There were already two men in the lobby, apparently waiting for takeout orders, and I could hear a large party of diners in the back room. There was one hostess/server and she was the only employee I ever saw. When I ordered my dessert, she did not bother to inform me of the wait time. Bad customer service. I ended up waiting 45 minutes with no apologies until the moment she gave me the dessert. If she had informed me at the outset of the wait time, I would have declined and gone on with my day. We happened to be in the area today and yelped local Thai restaurants. We happened upon this place. It looks like an older Victorian home turned restaurant. It's a bit small inside with the tables they have set up.it has potential to be really cute but I didn't really feel the decor. We ordered the Thursday lunch specials - pineapple beef stir fry and green curry with pad see ew. Comes with your choice of Tom kha or Tom yu/egg roll. My sister had a coconut drink and I had the Thai iced tea. The waiter was okay but seemed to always rush off and not want to take the time to answer questions which annoyed my sister. When we got our food, we were just underwhelmed with all of it. The soups were so watery as well as the curry and flavor just wasn't great as we normally experience with Thai dining in general. The food seemed heated up and. It fresh. Even the rice seemed like it was a day old and reheated. Pretty good! The Thai food is straight forward and tastey. We've gotten take out a few times and it's solid Thai. The pad Thai was pretty greasy and that's why it's not 5 stars. But everything else we got was pretty good. I would've like to see more substance to their curry. It was mostly sauce and very little veggies or meat. Waited waited... no appetizers.. no green curry yet... no masimon curry yet... no pumpkin curry yet... waited... watch take out orders come and go... come and go... we are how 45 minutes after the rice was put on the table. Finally the waiter comes by to say the kitchen is way behind... then we hear the other waiter say another 30 minutes because the kitchen is way behind. We had a play to get to and couldn't wait longer. We left without dinner. To the owner- prioritize your customers that are seated! If you have limitations in the kitchen, stop taking to go orders! Also, you had 2 teen age wait staff that were playing host, waiter, busser, and customer service when your kitchen was under water! Decide if you want to be a restaurant or a take out service. I'm not too familiar with Utah Thai food, but compared to what I've had in Portland, OR, this food doesn't come close to the amazing flavor and freshness found there. So, nothing was bad.
