One of favorite places. Great food with a wide selection for both vegetarians and carnivores. Affordable lunch meals that allow one to choose from a variety of options. I've tried many things and always been satisfied. Mr. Sunny is always attentive to details. We have several dietary restrictions so it's nice to know he cares about serving those needs. And he's fun to talk to. The service can be very slow in weekend nights so best to go if you're hanging out with no plans after. We went for the lunch special. The service was terrible. Maybe a language barrier? The food was so so but for a $15 lunch special I expected a little more. The main dish portions were very very tiny with only a couple bites of meat. We are gluten free so the naan was not eaten. We left hungry. Save a couple bucks here instead of Bombay House. Menu is the same, but the food is better! I've tried almost all of their vegetarian curries & by far the Novratan Kurma with tofu is my favorite. I definitely prefer their rice & samosas over most other curry places. The naan is really yummy. Have only ever eaten to-go, so can't speak for the dine-in experience. I've had some trouble with pick up orders before, but not troubling enough for me to not want to go back. I recommend just calling in to order rather than using a food delivery because they usually don't notice your order for a while if they're busy. read more

This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. I try to order something different every time I go and I've never been disappointed. You know when you eat something so good that you involuntarily moan while chewing or exclaim in delight between bites of food? That's what the food is like here. One of the best parts is that the entire back page of their (extensive) menu is all vegetarian options, many of which can be made vegan upon request. That makes my little veggie heart so happy. If you don't finish all your food and take leftovers home, don't worry: the food still tastes good the next day. Just in case the quality of food wasn't reason enough to love this place, the service and speed is great. The servers are prompt and polite, but not overbearing. The wait for food is never very long and the atmosphere is fairly quiet and comfortable. Once we came during the winter on a slow night and were sat by the door. It was freezing at that spot and when we requested to move to a different table they happily obliged. The restaurant is clean and the decoration minimal but authentic. If you are looking for the best Indian food in the area, (or really just some of the best food in general in the area), I'd HIGHLY recommend going to Kohinoor. read more

I tried this place once in 2017. It wasn't that memorable of an experience aside from really dry lamb and slow service. Our family thought we'd give it another shot today through DoorDash. Again, not impressed. Both the lamb vindaloo and curry were SWEET, no spice to them at all. The spiciest thing about our entire meal was the mint chutney that came with the vegetable samosas (which is pretty sad). The lamb was overcooked and tasted odd (like it was old before it was cooked). The naan was cooked well and tasted great. Two of the three vegetable samosas I ate had huge chunks of ginger every bite. Overall just pretty disappointed. I wanted this to be my go-to place, but will probably be frequenting Bombay House instead. Giving 3 stars because my order was accurate and made quickly. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. A lot of people rave about it while others have had a terrible experience. It was Saturday night and we had a party of 8, after attempting to go to Bombay which had a 2 hr wait, someone recommended this place. We got in after 15 minutes before 8 pm. After seating the group, we sat there and waited forever even to the point that we had to ask if anyone was going to take our drink order. The server finally came to the table and took everyone's order. Immediately after everyone got their drinks the appetizers, Chicken Pakora. The chicken was a little dry, but the two dipping sauces masked the chicken. One was sweet while the second was hot and spicy. You know when they serve it that fast they made it in bulk and have it sitting under a heater to keep it warm which dries food out. On to the main course; most of the group ordered the popular Chicken Tikka Masala. Two ordered it hot, two medium with a side of hot spices to add, and I ordered it mild. Two ordered Lamb Curry and a few orders of naan and garlic naan. I personally like the plan naan because it complements the flavor palette the Indian foods already have. The hot was too hot for the people who ordered it and they can typically handle hot foods. Lets just say they were sweating, bad! Be cautious when ordering anything higher than medium because even the medium packs a punch. It's not enjoyable if it's painful to eat. I don't know if it was the food or something else, but I was really sick the next day. Mind you I only had one Taj Mahal drink that night. We had high hopes for this place. Moving down to Orem from SLC, we've been trying a lot of places to figure out what we like. My fiancée is a major Indian fan and after not really loving Indian Palace, we hoped Kohinoor would be better, but everything tasted like a salt shaker fell into it while cooking. They are way too salt happy here. The lamb briyani was pretty good; the pieces of lamb were really big, but the rice was super salty. Even the yogurt that came with it was super salty. The chicken and lamb on the mixed kabob plate were really dry. The cheese naan was super soft, but it tasted like the cheese was spoiled-just a pretty sour taste than the cheese naans that we are used to. read more

The best Indian food in Utah. Actually, the best I've had anywhere. There have been some close seconds, but nowhere beats Kohinoor. The Aloo Gobi is the most amazing thing. I literally survived on it when I was pregnant. We try to visit any time we're in the area and it was the only thing that made me sad about moving out of Utah County. Honestly, it was pretty similar to India Palace in Provo - down to the glasses and little survey that comes with the check. It's delicious. The prices are also comparable; most dishes run $12-14, but they're usually big enough to share between two. I recommend the butter chicken with a side of the sweet Peshwari naan. We went here last night and it was crazy busy. It took about 40 minutes for us to get our food, which is why I didn't give it five stars. Waiting time aside, the food was really good. I enjoyed their garlic naan and cheese naan, and our friends let me try their peshwari naan, which was really good too. I loved the flavor of my coconut vegetable Korma. The only thing I would change is to take out the chickpeas and add more vegetables. I did like that they used fresh vegetables and not frozen bagged ones that some other restaurants cheat with. I also liked their rice that they served with our meal. Overall, I loved the food, and I thought their prices were pretty good for an Indian restaurant. read more

"You know we close at 2:30? You will need to hurry." And that is how it all started... anyone who follows me would know I am not a huge fan of weird hours. I get why they happen but I wish they wouldn't. Just be open 5pm-10pm. Why play tricks on us? The good news is the food was good. Not sure if I can say great. I had the lunch special that had the chicken tikka. Which was good I enjoyed eating it, I wish I would have order two of these instead of whatever else it was I got. Rich and hardy. The naan was well stocked for the amount of food that there was I think 4 pieces... they were the best part. I think that might sum up everything. THE VERDICT: Not the best. It was good and I enjoyed it, the lunch special was enough for one, I thought I might be able to split it with someone but no. If there was any less naan I would have left hungry but the four pieces... really saved the day for this place. Disgusting food & service. Asked for a dish with no nuts due to an allergy. Get home and the order has nuts in it and everything tasted stale. Fortunately my allergies aren't severe, but as I told the guy that answered the phone and took my order, you could literally kill someone by being so negligent, but I don't think this was negligence. He was trying to say that he doesn't work in the kitchen and the order was mixed up by mistake, as if someone else came in and ordered the exact same items. Funny, I didn't see anyone else come in while I was waiting. BS lame excuse, they didn't want to make a fresh order so they sold old, stale food and to hell with the consequences. $20 and 40 minutes of driving down the toilet, which is also where the food ended up, I'm trying to mitigate the mild allergic reaction I'm having. They are just lucky I'm not going to the hospital and calling a lawyer (yet). read more
