I travel consistently for my job and I dine at Indian restaurants from Coast to Coast and in Canada. Kohinoor is the best and most consistent Indian food I have found in all of UT and it's right in my backyard. If you are new to Indian cuisine start out with their Samosas. I always prefer the veg over the meat (they're more flavorful and work better with the cardamom and mint chutneys). Then move on to the butter chicken (Kohinoor's is one of the best I've ever tasted). Don't forget to order the spice to your heat level. Beware of asking for "Authentic" here... I usually ask for medium or hot. Authentic will melt your face off. read more

We tried this place out for dinner, and thought it was pretty good. Apparently the chef of Bombay house now works here. I did also find a few familiar servers. Anyhow, the menu is pretty much the same as Bombay house. We have frequented Bombay house and love the food there, so we were glad that we can now expect the same flavorful food. The service is definitely way below Bombay house, but I expect that to improve as time passes. We tried the madrasi chicken which was great! Will definitely be back soon! read more

The tikka masala is incredible here. The naan is also wonderful but is sometimes burned. We chose this over almost every place in town!

I got the chicken coconut dish and i have to say, it was amazing. Probably the best Indian dish i've ever had. The downside was I felt like i didn't get a whole lot for what I paid. most meals cost between 13 and 16 dollars which is pretty pricey for a college student. They were also a bit shady on trying to get me to spend extra on their garlic bread which was basically a tortilla. I probably wont come back because of the price but If you can afford it, i highly recommend it! read more

Food is good, but the booths are awful! The booths are tiny and very uncomfortable. The food was good! We really liked the onion ring appetizer and the garlic naan. I ordered coconut lamb kurma, and it was delicious! I think it's a little pricey for what you get; lunch entrees don't come with naan, just rice. read more

Try Bombay House or India Palace (both nearby in Provo) instead-they are much better. I had a lunch special to go. The Tikka masala was pretty good and everything else was terrible. The person taking the order was impatient and rude. The shrimp curry was so bad I didn't finish it. The naan was my least favorite I've had at any Indian restaurant. We eat a lot of Indian food and Kohinoor does right by us. I could eat their chicken tikka masala every single day of my life.

First thing's first, the food was so good! I had chicken coconut kurma, husband had lamb vindaloo & naan. We loved it! My reason for giving only 3 stars was for the service. The seating is awkward. I was pleasantly surprised how good this place was. I preferred the curry over the masala, but the naan was good and I loved the cardamom rice pudding. The customer service was great too, my toddler dropped my iphone down a small hole against the wall and although it took almost 30 min, they worked at it and pulled the bench apart until they got it out. Good, solid indian dining. I frequent this place for work lunches, and the meal is always good. Their lunch special has a nice mix of dishes for a fair price. I work with a woman from India, and she especially enjoys Kohinoor... but we work in Lindon, so Kohinoor is a lot closer than the alternatives down in Provo. The location helps too. As far as atmosphere goes, it's a little awkward... they've done reasonably well decorating, but the small dining room is dominated by a raised floor with tables in the center and booths recessed around the sides. However the wait staff is polite and they are always playing some fun, authentic music. In general, I'm always happy to eat here. read more

We used to get a grumpy male server but today we had a very polite female server (Anna) who made us feel welcome. Ask to get your bread served with the meal so it stays hot. The Saag Shorba soup was amazing! The Tandoori Roti bread was delicious but as thin as a tortilla so just know it doesn't go very far. The sauce on the Lamb Boti Kabob Masala is a little sweet and SO delicious (we tried medium)! The lamb tasted a little old or gamey but maybe that is how lamb is. The Dahl Makhani lentils were a little hot with medium and the flavor was a little dull. I only wish they had brown rice but maybe that isn't Indian. read more

Three of us went to Kohinoor for the first time. The restaurant was steady traffic but not overly busy for a Friday night. The food was very flavorful. We do not like the overly spicy, but we do like flavorful. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala with medium spice and the Butter Chicken with mild spice. We thought they both were great. The garlic Naan is also very good. Portions are averabe. Two entrees and two Naan were plenty for the three of us. Atmosphere is casual and we enjoyed the night. read more

Great Indian food that is closer and has better parking than the other place. We were seated right away. The whole family enjoyed the Chicken Briyani, the Paneer Tikka, and Naan of course. 2 stars for service, food was just okay. I ordered Lamb Briyani, it sounded really good on the menu but was mostly spiced rice with very few pieces of lamb. My honey ordered Shrimp Curry and got Shrimp Briyani instead. He failed to inform the waiter but it was the same, very little shrimp in this dish. It was way over priced for what you got. This place is great for lunch. You can order 2 entrees and get a host of other sides. The entrees are really good, and you get all the naan you want. It is a lot of food, for a great price.
