I must say I like this location of Kohls , never super busy, clean , sorted and great amount of merchandise. Amazon return is always easy and fast , Sephora as well. Sometimes it's hard to find someone who works there to get help and need to look around ( That's why one less star in this review ) but overall very decent one! I like the kids section of this Kohls, which is the section I most frequent. The Jumping Beans and Little Co pieces are always a favorite. I like that I can also make Amazon returns at this location. When you make an Amazon return, they give you a one time use coupon for the store which is nice. I don't really see staff on the floor so it's hard to find someone when you need help. Also, it seems not all fitting rooms are always open so you need to look extra for which ones are open. read more

I stopped here after Christmas to get some deals on their holiday decor that was all on sale. I was able to find some good deals on holiday decor for next year, which I was happy about. I genuinely had a good time looking through all the Christmas things that were on sale. I decided to look through the rest of the store to see if I could find anything else I wanted. On my way to the checkout (at the front of the store), there was a line of liquid in the middle of the main walkway of the store. I assumed that someone must have had a leaking water bottle or something of the sorts. I then saw a couple of employees using paper towels to soak up the liquid. I then saw more employees coming and they were calling for the cleaner/housekeeper to come help them clean up the floor. The employees were then telling customers in the store not to step in the area because someone peed all over the floor. They then told another customer that the liquid on the floor was both human and dog pee! So here, they had a literal biohazard in the store, all over the floor, and they were only using paper towels to soak it up?!?! The cleaner person then arrived to the area and was using a mop with dirty water to clean it up. No sanitizer or anything to actually "clean" and "sanitize" the area. So, next time you shop at this Kohls, just be aware that a human and dog peed all over the floor and they did not even use soap to clean it up! read more

I heart Kohl's. I've been shopping here for gosh, I want to say not too long after they came to California. (Which was in 2003). They always have great sales, percentage off coupons (I normally get 30% off!) and give Kohl's cash back!! I have had their credit card since 2009 {I always pay it off in full}. ;-) With having the CC they send out extra coupons throughout the year as well as a birthday gift AND anniversary gift!! (of when you opened the CC). Returns are easy and my most FAVORITE thing they have now is Amazon Returns!!! Now that they've added that I'm there even more often. They also give you a bonus $5 Kohl's cash just for returning your Amazon items with them. Can't beat that! read more

I've never felt more dismissed or uncomfortable as a customer than I did during my recent visit to the Sephora inside Kohl's in Lakewood. I approached the Sephora counter and politely asked the cashier, Fatima, if I could pay for the items I was holding there--something I've done many times before, and something I've watched other customers do. Instead of a simple response, she rolled her eyes at me--multiple times--and sharply said, "You're just going to have to wait because I have another customer right now." I never asked her to ring me up immediately. I simply asked a basic question about store policy. Her tone, attitude, and repeated eye-rolling were completely uncalled for and left me feeling confused, embarrassed, and frankly, like I had done something wrong just by asking. Fatima's behavior was so rude and unprofessional that it genuinely made me not want to return to Kohl's. No customer deserves to be made to feel like an inconvenience just for asking a question. It was a great shopping experience today, I always forget about Kohl's they have all types of items that I need and love. I found my #nikesweatband I've been everywhere looking for it #sohappy. The other plus is that there's a Sephora located inside of kohl's, I was able to get a favorite matte lipstick that is made by Sephora so I will not have to worry about it being discontinued. Both employees were super cool very helpful I also received a gift for my birthday my birthday was in #april that was super sweet to do. Great selection of clothing; however, I could not believe how expensive the clearance section was! 35.00 for jogging pants? No thanks! Absolutely the worst department store, in store and online, you will ever deal with. Ordered Fiesta dinnerware online. They literally shipped these ceramic dishes in plastic bags with nothing wrapped around them to protect them. Arrived in thousands of broken pieces obviously. Top this off with an offer of only a partial refund and rude couldn't care less employees at the store saying this is policy. Omg. I received an email that kohl's was having a sale, so I made my way here. First off, the store is in shambles and it doesn't look like anyone cared. Everything is picked over and sloppy looking. But my biggest complaint has to be how unprofessional the staff . Just walking around the store I heard one employee drop the F bomb numerous times about a football game and another staff member was talking crap about a customer to someone else. On March25, I bought 2 decorative pillows and a gift card for $50.00. For my relative's birthday. On 6/10 my relative informed me he had gone to Kohls that the card did more have value. I went twice to Kohl's and was asked the receipt and the Kohl's card I went back today and was informed by a Supervisor that I needed to call Capital for this situation??? I called Capital Bank 10 minutes later and spoke with a rep Jackie who was able to find the transaction on 3/19 confirming that the charge was for 2pillows and a gift card. I asked her if I was going to get a refund or new card, she said I needed to talk to the fraud Dept.I spoke with a man. He said that the transaction on 3/19 had been for 2 pillows and he did lot see any Gift card purchase . Then he card had been cashed!! I also explained to him all over again ( the card had the sticker that covers the code. After 20 minutes wasted time he transferred me to his manager. Bottom line the lady was JUST giving me the round around. PLEASE -If you ever buy a Gift Card at any Kohl's store make sure to keep you receipts for at least a year and tell the person you give the gift card to use within 2 weeks!!I am really disappointed with this store. Why do we have Kohls' ads on television in Hawaii when there are no Kohls stores in the 50th State? It just gets us curious so that we shop, earn Kohls cash, then return to shop and get great deals! I intentionally went to this Los Angeles store to use my Kohls cash which was $20 because I had purchased something from a different Kohls a couple of weeks ago. The cash was going to expire on Sunday, so I had a deadline. Plus - they offered me 15 percent off! I looked through the Clearance sections, children's, petites, and accessories. There was a Limited edition Vera Wang blouse on sale - and with the 15 percent discount and Kohls cash - it would be $3.70 with tax! Should I get it? Of course! This is a good Kohl's that's tucked away in Lakewood, which I found by ordering at Kohl's online to do an in-store pick-up where the merchandise I wanted and ordered was only available here and I had to drive her to pick it up. The parking lot is spacious. The store during the weekday daytime seems pretty empty and easy to navigate. It's not in a mall or near anything like a good shopping area, so there's not much to do walking distance from this place read more

Ok.... approximately 2 miles away from Kohls in the city of Lakewood California . I am currently wondering why in the world I even went to that low end, awful service in the shoe department....let me tell you about my wonderful (said sarcastically) experience. My friend invited me to go shopping this afternoon.... reluctant to do the whole half done department store thing. Everything was going well until we hit the shoe department...bad service. The girls in the shoe department must have been trained in World War by Hitler himself. There was a last pair of imitation Ugh boots with no tag and no box. So we went looking for an associate to get a price. In between that thought a sales girl approached me letting me know that I needed to give the shoes back I was stealing. I'm like what??? I was still in the damn shoe department. So I let her know that she could have whatever she wanted, are those not for sale or was I supposed to guess. She was unable to find another pair to get a price off of, I was confident that was the case since I was looking for a price myself. Had to tell her that her illiterate self needed to wait for someone to at least try to run out of the department where she thought she was running so well....but was actually running into the ground. I placed an online order for pickup at this location specifically because it's supposed to have curbside pickup according to their website. I have a 1 year old and sometimes going into a store just is not worth the hassle so I thought this would be perfect. I open the link on my email to let the employees know I am here and to enter the curbside space I'm in as it requests. I get to the store and don't see a location to park for curbside pickup (and therefore I'm not able to enter the number the website is requiring) so I use the option on the email sent to me to request assistance from an employee. The link says someone will be right out but after several minutes no one comes. The website says if no one has come out I can request assistance again so I do but still no one comes out. I call the store directly and I'm eventually routed to Yosef who is telling me they haven't offered curbside in a year which is why they no longer have marked spaces. That's fine except I would have no way of knowing the kohls website is incorrect until I land in this very situation. Yosef hears my child crying in the background and asks if I can come in. I obviously say I can't as the only reason I did pick up was for the curbside and no parent wants to unload and being a crying baby into a store - hence the selection of curbside. He then tells me he can bring it out but I need to "wait for him." I say sure and he proceeds to tell me multiple times with an attitude that they don't offer curbside - I guess he didn't expect me to agree to wait. After the fourth time I let him know I really don't appreciate the attitude when I'm simply trying to pick up my order based on the options they gave me. He again says that they don't do curbside but he'd bring out my order. When he comes out he AGAIN finds the need to let me know multiple times that they don't do curbside. Sir, I got it. I have no qualms with a company not offering curbside but I do take issue with companies being misleading at the time of purchase and THEN horrible customer service afterward. And let's be honest. However, having said that I'm posting a very disappointed review of this Kohl's location due to it's racial profiling from there Asset Protection/ Security Department. ....Yesterday, March 3rd 2023 approximately 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the staff kept following me and my girlfriend. Than the AP harassed another Latin (young) family and accused them of stealing shoes while following them around the store. The Kohl's Sales Floor Team attempted to do some damage control only after the Latin young family's wife questioned the Sales Floor Team about the AP to verify if he was employed by Kohl's. When the Sales Floor Team said yes she demanded to speak to a manager on duty fthe AP accusing her husband of attempted theft. Than shortly after that, my girlfriend and I were wrapping up our shopping for our upcoming Vegas trip this weekend. When we were in line the AP called our cashier to check our luggage bags that we were purchasing in their store for possible items of theft. My girlfriend has worked at this Kohl's before in her early twenties so she knows the phone calls don't go directly to the cashier of this specific check out lane that we were in right when we were about to pay for our items. Not to mention that the Manager on Duty (Cassandra) was also watching us the whole time while we we're getting in the check out line. During the incident I asked the cashier clerk for the General Manager's name, the Manager on Duty (Cassandra) came to up to me and my girlfriend and asked us if their was a something wrong. I stated to Cassandra that her entire Sales Floor Team had been racialing profiling me & my girlfriend during the whole duration we were shopping and all the employees needed better sensitivity training regarding targeting people of color. ....Before Cassandra could deny that was the culture at this Kohl's location my girlfriend reminded her of the AP staff accusing another minority family of attempting to steal shoes. Regardless of the staff being also people of color it does not prevent them from profiling other minorities. My girlfriend and I have Kohl's credit cards and spend hundreds of dollars here including yesterday for our Vegas Trip but from now on we will shop at the Kohl's location in Cerritos. I still will definitely let the General Manager Jason P at this Lakewood location know as well as the Kohl's Corporate about Lakewood's AP Department's toxic atmosphere. If you read this review let it be a caution to anyone of people of color know how they will possibly be profiled. The management have no room to be diplomatic in this serious matter especially when AP did not treat the Caucasian customers the same way they did with us and the other Latin young family. read more

This review is not on the local location but the billing/finance department at Kohl's. The local store is amazing and provides great customer service in our experience. However, If there were negative stars I would give them all to the billing department. My bill is due on the 4th of every month, I made payments via the phone number they provide no later than the 3rd of the month. Also, I go to my local store and make the payment before the 4th. The billing department does not process the payment even though my bank has the payment posted the day I make the payment. However, Kohl's billing does not post and they charge me late fee's every month. At times they show I didn't make the payment even though my bank shows the payment posted. Call and try to work with billing and the customer at billing is ALWAYS WRONG. How is it my fault that billing doesn't do their job and get the money before the 4th and I get stuck with late fee's? My family members are also experiencing the same issue and we have all decided to close our accounts and never go shop there again due to the billing department NOT the local store. They posted a payment on an old account I had years ago and because they didn't post it to the correct account it became my fault and they wanted late fees???? how is that the customers fault? Easy to purchase goods/items with just a phone number and SSN but when payment comes they need your actual card so they don't post your payment to wrong account? why offer that option only for purchase but not during payments? Tried getting contact individual at corporate but the website only has a phone number for who knows who. Not customer friend what so ever. Does Kohl's even care for customer service all around? Great customer service!!! I was never a Kohl's shopper, but because they have "amazon drop off" I found myself in one. Shocked to find out it's a great store!!! I believe one of the store managers name is Yoseph??? (Thin in stature, African American, man) he is probably one of the friendliest, polite people I have come across in retail in a long time. He answered the question I had, I forgot to use a coupon at the end of my transaction and he easily credited me the coupon difference. Associates greeted me in store and said good morning, I noticed a cashier walk a older women to a section of the store for a price check. Good selection of fashion forward clothes, toys accessories, home etc. Coming from the customer service /hospitality industry myself I so appreciate hard work, positive attitudes and helpful tones. My son worked here seasonally last year. He never missed a day and they invited him to come back this year. He called, scheduled an interview, and got a rejection letter. Huh? After getting a good performance review and being invited back. Which leads me to the conclusion that they either don't like hiring minors or people with disabilities. Which he has both.
