I love coming to Kohl's but it seems that my latest visits have been met with a lack good customer service and appears as if it not a priority any more. This last visit is the reason of my post. I made my first Amazon return, which was very convenient and quick, so kudos to Kohl's and Amazon! However, the returns employee was not as impressive. She completely ignored the attempts of courtesy of customer in front of me. Once it was my turn, I could simply tell she did not want to be there. Her greeting to me was, "what is this?", which caught me by surprise because I was literally standing in a line with floor and ceiling signs advertised as the Amazon return line. What was really off putting was the under the breath murmur as if I was causing some grief by returning this item. Seriously, Kohl's, either train people in customer service or take the time to find people that want to be there. If it's a matter of employees not being appreciated, make the effort to be encouraging because ultimately the shopping experience is what suffers. My wife also mentioned that this was the worst Kohl's shopping experience to date. The hanger sizes and clothing did not match for almost every item she picked up, which is not the norm. On a good note, the check out line seemed like it was going to take long but it was remedied quickly by adding more customer service representatives to assist and they were nice. Although, I will continue shopping at Kohl's, I think I will simply try to shop at a different location. read more

This kohls location is a junkyard very unorganized and dirty!!! Not a good selection of anything!! Their shoe dept and purse dept make you feel as if you just stepped into pic n save!!! The dollar tree is cleaner than kohls!!! The customer service sucks!! And every single time I'm in this location which is not often because this location sucks!! The manager or am is following me around the store asking me if I ant to open there credit card!!! Once someone says NO the first time leave it alone!!! I'm never gonna say yes!!! And when your trying to shop the IC 1234 is rather annoying!!!! I can never find anything do yourself a favor go to San Marcos or poway locations those stores so much nicer!!! read more

The deals you can find are great here, but they also have some really pricy brands that just don't make sense to me... LC from the OC? Please, I wouldn't spend $70 on a dress with her name on it! I came in for a last minute shirt I needed to buy and couldn't find anything until this two nice ladies approached me and helped me find what I was looking for. Dirtiest kohls I have ever been too. Every single fitting room was jampacked with clothes that needed to be put back on the floor by the clerks. The shoes section was a huge mess, shoes everywhere. Tiny selection of shoes i may add. I had a lady knocking on my dressing room door telling me she left toys in the room i was in. HELLO BRING YOUR STUFF WITH YOU. I won't be back to this kohls. Went in with a $20 yes 2 you reward and needed socks. Picked out what I wanted and went to check out. Tracy rang us up and she was less than happy to be there. We are always nice and friendly to people and wish them well when leaving, etc but she was having none of it. It seemed like we were bothering her by wanting to give the store money. Customer service is excellent! My daughter left her favorite stuffed animal in the store. We called customer service to report it. The store associate took our number down and a few hours later, the same associate called us back and told us she found the stuffy. They also got a problem resolved with our gift card. The merchandise was stocked with some cute stuff and reasonably priced. read more

I was in Kohl's today around 3:30.. I was waiting in line along with about 3 others. There was only one cashier open to the entrance closest to Pet Smart. The cashier did not look up once to say she would be with us.. it looked like she was doing a credit app. Another cashier came along, opened register on the other side and stood there. Didn't say "i can help you..." nothing. When i got to her, because i was next... she rang up my 3 items. 2 toys and a candle. I had a $10 cash reward but apparently i was not able to use it on ANY of the things i had. I asked if she knew what items i could use it on that were close by us so i could just spend the $10, i didn't wanna waste it. She said "idk" "idk".... "don't know..." It wasn't the fact that i was unable to use my reward but the lack of customer service these employees had. I honestly don't think i will shop at the Oceanside location anymore, this was NOT the first time i have had rude customer service on their part. Wish i would of gotten her name. Kohls has some good sales and decent quality clothes. This store always looks as if items have been picked thru, such as what happens to most stores at Xmas time. It is not quite as difficult to find clothes here as at Ross where I refuse to shop due to their disorganization and lack of sizes available. This store provides a good bargain, and is somewhere in between Target and JcPenney with respect to shopping experience and value, but again, not much conformity or organization of items at this Kohls. read more

went to this Kohls today and went to the checkout and the lady ringing me up scanned my items, never even took the time to remove the security tags off the clothes and shoved everything in a bag with the hangers sticking out of the bag. i left not knowing that i still had security tags on and had to drive all the way back to get them removed and as i was standing there, she comes behind and in an attitude says, oh sorry that was me, i looked for those but i guessed i missed one sorry. i dont think ill be coming back to this location plus she never asked if i was going to use my kohls charge. read more

Absolutely horrible I had to place an order twice one shipped to the store that had to be returned only after delivered and the other order for the same thing was not shipped to my primary address they shipped it to another address and refused to resend me the items i purchased because i have no way to return the other ones ordered. Remodeling which is already an improvement (customer service now in the front of the store, great improvement ). I like the selection for what I wear, it is not too crowded which is a plus. Prices are a little high, but they are always having a sale. Now what I DO NOT like is the carts are always nasty with trash and other random items (on my visit today there was a plastic dental flossing thing). I really feel unnerved by the creepy guy that invades personal space asking if you want to sign up for a card. There has been several occasions that he appears from behind the racks with catlike stealth attributes, that made my hair stand up! Please you do not have to have a creepy dude being overly pushy, and asking a few times per visit. Harassing my daughter about getting a card, after she told him no. I do not approve of this at all. Employees here are great - BUT, don't open a charge with Kohl's! They sent me a bill for a charge already paid. Capitol One is the bad guy & they were awful. Their financial services departments can't talk to one another, all contact back is snail mail & STILL not resolved AND the Capitol One person warned me it's about to be reported as a 30 day late to my credit. read more

I had the worst shopping experience with Kohls.com today , I purchased a mattress , Long story short it's took almost 3 hours to process this order after talking to three different people . Finally the order went through . I received an email says thank you for shopping with kohl's including the amount being charged and the delivery date. Three hours later I received an email saying they didn't proses my order , I called to check what's going on , the lady start asking me over 10 questions to verify my account I did answer all her questions but I couldn't remember the last time I shopped their ( I rarely shop their ) . I can't believe she asked me to go to my nearest store with my kohl's card and my id and any house bill under my name..? Really really I am so upset . I have this card for over 4 years . Called store to check on a sleeper I saw on their website. Was looking to pick it up by Friday. The sales rep checked their inventory, did not find it in stock so she pulled up the website to help me find where I could pick up. It is an online order item only, bummer. But I was very happy and impressed that the sales rep took the extra time to help me find the item I was looking for. Wish I had gotten her name to let the store know how helpful she was. read more

I have 3 issues. 1) the person (Marcela) who rang up my order did not ask if I had any coupons. I gave her one and she closed out my order before I could hand her the second one. Then I had to wait for the manager to adjust my total for the second coupon. Also, I was not asked what card I wanted to use. She put it automatically on my kohls card. What is that about? I don't have the option anymore of how I want to pay? 2) a pair of pants was not given the 30% discount I had. This was not discovered until the manager came over then I got a brief explanation how nike doesn't do the discounts anymore. I was not told of this. Last month I got the same pair of pants and they were on sale. This is unfair and taking advantage of customers. 3) I had a birthday $10 off anything I got. However, I only got $9.77 taken off my total. This makes me mad. Don't get me in your store with the promise of $10 off anything to then adjust it to $9.77 only. If you are looking for shoes and your size is greater the a 9 or ten, plenty of selection. Smaller sizes seem to be non-existent. I complained to the company about their limited shoe sizes but just got an email thanking me for my concern. I do like the mens clothes there. read more

I had a Five-star customer service experience at Kohl's in Oceanside. Christina G. helped process a return that was very complex. It was almost a year old and I had no receipt. I should have returned it sooner as I had problems all along, but I didn't get around to it. Christina was amazing and patient and very professional. I've been sucked in to all the psychology of shopping mind tricks that Kohls uses on their customers. I keep coming here and can't stop. It all started when they first had a sale and I came in to check out this new store and take advantage of the 30% off storewide sale. Their discounts don't exclude anything unlike Macy's is now doing and that's great. After I payed they handed me a coupon for $10 off anything but I must use it 5 days from now and it's only good for a few days. Of course I ended up coming back the next weekend. It's ten dollars I can use for free plus this weekend there's an extra 20% off coupon that you can use on top of the ten dollars! So I go back get some shoes and household stuff. They sign me up for a reward card where every dollar you spend is a point and after 100 points you get a $10 reward. Oh and guess what,those free ten dollars I was going to spend? Well, I spent $72 minus ten equals $62 but have no fear because if you spend more than $50 you get $10 in Kohls cash to use in two weeks time. So two weeks later I go in to buy a birthday present for someone in order to use up to the ten dollars of course. I use up my Kohls cash, I don't spend more than $50 so I don't get another ten dollars. Whew I've broken the cycle! I know what they are doing by reinforcing certain habits in me and encouraging me to get in the door because they know once a customer is in they will spend money. How could you not? They have clothing, accessories, household items, toys, even cleaning products and coffee for my Keurig! The store has so much you can buy, the items are good quality, it is laid out easy to find, easy hassle free returns, really i can't complain about anything. So I walked out of the store that day with my newest purchases vowing to not be so easily influenced and manipulated. I'm a behavior analyst, I know better than this! They didn't give me a coupon this time so I can't be sucked back in to stepping through the door. I have everything i need; I will quit Kohls cold turkey! A day later I check my email, and congrats I earned 100 reward points so I have a ten dollar voucher to use. Yelp needs a NO stars ratings!!!! In store has almost no customer service & if you get it it's not so great. But this review is for their 800 customer service line. I called because I got a notice regarding my account (which I closed over a year ago!!) it concerned me so I called in to make sure my account was still closed, I got CARLOS who insisted that my account wasn't closed because I didn't close it and then I have been calling on my account, in fact the last call was 4 days ago. I told him it wasn't me, he insisted it was because it's in the notes... hello, I am trying to tell you someone else is doing it if it's not me!! I'm freaking out thinking someone's accessing my accounts & this jerk was the ultimate jerk! He was rude & short w/ me, insisting things that was not so. Telling me there were recordings of these calls, which I replied that I was glad so let me hear it. Oh they are not for you, you can't listen to them, I could hear the smirk on his face. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor, he wanted to know what for, I told him his customer service was horrible & I'd like to speak to a supervisor, he told me it was a waste of their time for such a call, I continued demanding that he transfer me to a supervisor, he told me he would transfer me to the automated service and the the supervisors are all too busy to take my call.. I kept insisting that he transfer me to a live person not the automated system, well, he decided to just hang up on me. This is the quality of service Kohl's has which is why I had chosen to close my account over a year ago which wasn't done, so it took me 2 more calls & 2 more transfers before I was able to finally close my account. I WILL NEVER GIVE YOU ANOTHER RED CENT OF MINE! WORSE STORE EVER! read more

This has to be the worst kohls I have ever been to in customer service. So bad I would drive out of my way to go to a different store. I did a return and the lady was terrible. So rude with an attitude problem I did nothing wrong and was friendly I have no idea what her problem was. Then when I went to check out the lady questioned what the heck I was buying with an attitude, complained to me how her line never ended and then was a total b when I went to use the merchandise credit I had. I'm truly never going to shop at this kohls again. Such terrible customer service. It left such a bad feeling I'm not sure I will ever go to kohl s again. The shoe department is always a mess... it was frustrating to look for a size in one style and see that the style is spread across the whole department. There was a lot of employees trying to get things organized but I have no doubt that is not possible with such a large store. My husband and I come here every so often because he likes their dress shirts, but I don't know if we'll be back after the experience we just had. Our friends are out of town, and left us a coupon for helping taking care of their cat while they're gone. I didn't know the coupon was non-transferable because it was a coupon sent specifically to them. Instead of the cashier politely explaining that the coupon was non-transferable, she just kept asking for our Kohl's Card (I thought she was just trying to get us to sign up for a credit card), then when I told her it was a coupon given to us by a friend, she said it was fraud. We weren't trying to do anything wrong, just trying to use a coupon. This is after waiting in a long line. She ended up applying a couple of coupons at the register, but the money wasn't the issue. It was the fact that she started throwing the word "fraud" around. Surely, there was a better way to address the miscommunication. Probably won't be back for a while. read more
