This was a decent Kohls to shop at for Christmas. Actually found everything for the men on my list here. They had some decent deals and the store was relatively easy to shop at, clean, neat, etc. Customer Service was a bit lackluster but at the least was friendly. The parking lot it shares with the other businesses here can get to be a nightmare (what do you expect with Walmart around the corner). But overall I would shop at this Kohl's again. I think being so close to the Ross kind of is a blessing in disguise....especially at holiday times because every time we've shopped here during the holidays there's never a line, but go next door and be prepared to wait an hour in this long line that is the length of half the store most of the times...So yay for Kohls! read more

After hearing story of a person that was accused of stealing couple of weeks ago that was accidentally placed on her daughter stroller and making her sign something that was "JUST FOR REPORT". She now received a letter stating that she needs to pay $$$ for loss/damage. I happen to know this person. I know how hard it is to go shopping with a kid and you'll be suprise what you will see in your stroller out of no where. As long as you have a clean conscience. KOHLS please look into something like this carefully as an inoccent person gets accused wrongfully. No sorries needed. Just understanding the whole story and hidden camera's. read more

As per the majority of comments here are about customer service, mine is too. Saw something online to get for girlfriend's Xmas present that happened to be on sale a few weeks ago. So worked close by so dropped by to get it in store. However, online discounts were not applied to in store prices. They were still full price. Employee didn't believe it was on sale so went the extra mile to manually put in the full price. I'm not paying twice the amount for an item that was supposedly more than 50% off on the Kohls website. Again, employee didn't believe it was on sale as per the website and charged full price. Frustrating experience nonetheless. Not going back. Please update your prices and train your employees better. read more

I LOVE shopping at Kohl's BUT yesterday (01.10.15) was terrible!!! The young Hispanic girls working there need to be fired ASAP!!! There was a girl wearing a dark gray CALIFORNIA shirt with red hair and she was completely rude!!! There was ANOTHER girl wearing a light blue shirt working at the jewelry section that completely ignored me after I tried getting her attention a total of 3 times!!! BUT today a white lady who attended me at the register in customer service at about 8:35 was very rude i did not like the way she spoke to me. This is hands-down the worst Kohls EVER. It gets two stars because it was super clean, but that was all it had going for it. Their Lauren Conrad selection was so small, I almost missed it. The majority of the clothing was on a high-wall so if you wanted to see something, you had to flag down an associate. I've been to a lot of stores where they leave the hanger-grabber close by so you can manage for yourself. No such luck. When I did finally find an associated, they were standing there gossiping pretty nastily about someone else and hard even noticed I was there. I eventually just got so frustrated and drove a few miles to the one in Santee. Very bright and clean store... But that's basically it. Avoid this KOHLS. read more

I absolutely LOVE Kohl's but this location is AWFUL! I work near here and thus have been to this kohls quite a few times. Every time I go it is beyond messy, with products misplaced and jumbled everywhere, and there is ALWAYS a huge line to check out. They seem to always have only one cashier working. Since my original review, I've started shopping at Kohl's and it's totally changed. I've gotten some great deals with the coupons that the send me. At XMAS time, I got a $49.99 Black and Decker toaster for $9.99. It was on sale, plus there was a rebate for it. I've also gotten some nice clothes there, and since I patronize College Grove Center frequently, when i have coupons, I now always stop into Kohl's to see what they have that's new. read more

I'm a fan of Kohl's, but not this location. I haven't witnessed the cleanliness issues that others have, I've always found the store in a neat-organized state, however their customer service here, is the absolute worst, and I can only blame the management. Several times, I have come here, and they only have one register open. Now, I can understand that, if the store isn't busy why have a ton of registers open. However, when your one register is about 10 customer's deep, and your cashier is dealing with the person that wants to return something but can't find their receipt, and yelling at the cashier, it's time to: A. Open at least, another register, and B. For the manager to step in. Another time, I was in line at a register, had somebody tell the cashier they HAD to take their break, so the cashier left, and I was left standing there, waiting for another person to come relieve the cashier. Another time, I had a manager of some sort, YELLING at an employee because they hadn't gone on break yet. Of course this was done IN FRONT of customers, when there were only TWO registers open, each with lines of more than five people, which caused THAT line to get held up even more, because of the cashier getting chewed out. I really feel bad for the employees of the store. You can tell they're very tense and nervous, almost. If you need to go to Kohl's I strongly suggest finding another location. If other locations haven't impressed you, this one certainly won't either. read more

First off, I must openly state that I loathe shopping. So with this in mind, I must publicly review my recent shopping experience at the Kohls off of MLKJr Fwy. I was charged with the mission of finding the perfect gift for my Mother-in-law. Not an easy chore, I might add. Still, I knew Kohl's was one of her favorite places to shop so that become my first and only stop, thanks to a manager going above and beyond the call of duty. I will forever associate this manager's name with customer service. Vicki Sherman embodies the definition of the customer always comes first. Instantly recognizing my displeasure in the retail and gift giving experience, she, by no stretch of the imagination, literally guided me through the store to all the middle-aged woman hot-spots. Even when progress was halted by an appliance being the incorrect color, she remained vigilant and started to call other Kohl's locations. Through no fault to Vicki, we were not successful. So, instead she offered the idea of a gift card. Perfect! I know my Mother-in-law will love it. I cant say enough about Vicki. She was kind, patient, professional, helpful and most importantly.. a god send! I wish every retail manager could take a page out of Vicki's book! Hey Kohl's big wigs, you have a winner in Ms. Sherman! If every retail place had a manager like that I might even like shopping...might. read more

I like this Kohl's. I find that this one has more style of clothes and a bigger selection. It's super clean and have no long lines. I like that it's one story also. Makes it easier to shop. I absolutely love Kohls! I have noticed that they tend to have great deals and I love how they give you Kohl's cash when you spend $50 or more. What department store does that? Another quality is that you can return items without a receipt. read more

It's hit or miss. The dressing rooms are usually packed with clothes from previous shoppers and the workers can be rude. They do not seem properly staffed because the check out line is always packed. As far as selection goes I only come here for certain brands and the actual shopping areas are pretty clean. So I usually come here with an idea of what I'm looking for by checking out the selection online first. read more

This store is near my grandmother's house who I visit often. Every time I have gone into this store I am either completely ignored or treated with the WORST level of customer service. It's only because I actually like kohls that I'm giving this specific location more than 1 star. Today Karen receives the sub par award for customer service. I usually go to Santee location and definitely should stick to that location (see previous yelp for Santee location) I was in the area and had to stop by before I went in to work so I made the mistake of coming here. Karen was so damn rude from the second we walked in line. This lady didn't even say hello how are you. I asked a question regarding what the customer in front of me had just said and she said one second very rudely and ignored me. When we were up she didn't say how are you not a single smile not even any eye contact. She then proceeded to give me a hard time for using my new account 30% off coupon because it was 1 day past. I said well I was just told by someone in the kids dept that you guys would honor it. She said ummm well I don't know why they would say that. A manager walked by so she asked him and luckily Brandon has some better sense of how to treat customers he honored the 30% off. I hate hate hate workers like this. Bitter miserable people should stay home and nor have any human interaction because they're not good people for the world!! I hate this kohls for today's experience! I like this Kohl's a lot. I'm not one of those customers that needs a lot of help so the fact that this store doesn't have a lot of customer service appeals to me a lot. The workers here smile and are friendly but it's rare when you get one who offers to help you which is fine by me. The store is usually empty so I appreciate being able to shop in peace. There's been a few times where I've had to return something and the customer service department is pretty accommodating. They've never given a hard time. Kohls has failed to teach their employees basic customer service. I asked a young male employee in the shoe department if he would help me and he said " I can't help you, I'm working on a display." Then another employee told the young man to help me, which followed by them arguing with each other till I walked away in dismay. It's hard to even find a employee to help here, so pretty disappointing when I do find one they're too busy to help a paying customer. read more

I originally tried to buy a toaster oven at the Chula Vista store, but it was out of stock, luckily they were able to find one at the college grove store. I headed their the next day after I got off work. My first time in that store and boy it was very new and nice! After picking up my hold, I realized that the toaster was no longer on sale, but the manager vicki sherman said she could still honor the price! Maybe pushing my luck, I asked if there was anyway my late fee on my Kohl's card could be waived since I just missed the day to pay it. She said she could call Kohl's charge for me and check, and she got them to waive it. What a disappointment. I left the store empty handed and very angry due to a rude comment made by a customer service employee. Another employee working around the area saw us waiting at the checkout line area and asked the guy in customer service if he wanted him to ring us up. Ugh! Another frustrating experience. I puchased some flannel sheets online. When I got them the label said deep pocketed, even though they never said that in the info online. So we went into the store to exchange them or get store credit. We earned $15 kohls cash, so I didn't want to return the item. Customer service told us we couldn't get store credit because they only sell that brand online. They told us we could exchange the item if we found another item which had the same full price value. The store had one type of flannel sheets, but or course none in the size we needed. They checked stock at other locations and they didn't have them either. I asked if they would honor the exchange but ship us our size...well of course not. So after an hour in the store with my 10 month old trying to exhange the sheets I just returned them and forfeited the kohls cash. It would have been nice if they just gave us a gift card for the value we paid. But they wouldn't work with us, even though their website didn't contain all the info we needed to make an informed purchase. Worst decision I ever made was getting a Kohls card. They have the worst customer service and policies. I will promptly be canceling my card. Eric helping us in the home department was very friendly and compassionate and he did try. I normally don't have a problem with this location but omg I was there with one of my friend there today and the cashier was an older woman. She is a scam artist. She was she was getting my friend a rewards card but was actually applying for a credit card! She is so shady. When I went back and asked her, she acted so innocent! I wanted to punch her in her throat because she knew exactly was she was doing. Then she told me how it's okay because my friend didn't get approved anyways ! I earned $60 Kohls cash for shopping I did on black Friday. I went to College Grove Kohls today to buy items on sale Plus an ADDITIONAL 20% off coupon I had using my Kohl's cash of $60. They would NOT give me the additional 20% off because my purchase totaled the amount of my kohls cash! They TOOK BACK $12.00 of the Kohl's cash I earned! My transaction should have been $47.98 (with the additional 20% off coupon) but since it was Kohls cash I did NOT get the 20% off because my purchase BEFORE the additional discount was the total amount of my kohls cash! I didn't want cash back all they had to do was give me kohls cash for remaining unused balance! This is so SNEAKY of them to do! They think I didnt understand the transaction but I absolutely did!!! I earned that kohls cash and they took it back just like that! I was on my lunch break from work so I didnt have time to stand there and argue with them so i left! Very unhappy and disappointed at the sneakiiness of the transaction! I use to love shopping at Kohls but this was a slick move on Kohls part! Please save yourself all the drama and do not go to this specific Kohl's location! This was actually my first time stepping into a Kohls and my experience was far from great. I decided to come here because upon shopping online, I signed up for their newsletter and received a $5 coupon. I decided to sign my bf up as well as he frequently visits the Kohls location down south of SD. Anyway, upon checking out, the employee in the jewelry section had forgotten to ring up two other items. I mistakenly did not notice the other two items as well as the coupon, which was never applied. She apologized sincerely and directed me to the customer service return kiosk where I would have to return the sunglasses and do the transaction all over again. This is where the mess begins! Supposedly Kohls' hassle free policy no questions ask doesn't apply to this location! The lady rudely asked why I couldn't return it at the jewelry section. We explained that we were directed to return it at the return center. We also explained that we want to rebuy it with the two other items the cashier had missed and use the coupon. She sarcastically repeated our story then questioned how the cashier even missed two big items? Ummm how the hell would I know?! Why do I get scolded for her mistake. Because I had a bag in my hand she assumed we used the same coupon in a previous transaction! She even said I "assume" you used a kohls coupon previously so I need to see your reciept to verify. Umm didn't anyone ever tell you that assuming makes an ass out of ME and YOU?!? Plus, isn't that kind of crossing the line and ASSUMING your customers are being deceitful? Well just in case you're dying to know Ms, I never used a coupon on my previous purchase! Anyway, she continues to tell us that we can't use the coupon because we've used one already, because by this point she is so sure we already have. Also, she stated that with or without the $5 coupon, the total would come out the same anyway. This lady clearly can not do basic math in her head! Because $5 is not even worth my time with this ruthless woman I decided once and for all to void the transaction! I of course stormed out of the store but my little sister decided to be a sneaky little ninja spy and hear what the associate had to say to jer manager. Expectedly, to save face, she explained the story to the manager failing to mention the big attitude and all the drama in between. I work for customer service in the hospital setting and have done my share of mystery shopping during my younger years. I with the many years of experience know what customer service entails. In this economy, I expect businesses to strive for excellence in customer service. To see a Kohl's associate who represents this company and one who works in the CS department fail to deliver sympathy, compassion and good communication skills should not be placed here at all! I was embarrassed with how I was treated and no paying customer who are the reason why these people get to keep their job should never ever be treated like how we were! read more

This Kohl's store is a mess. I can go there three weeks in a row and see the exact same disorganized mess in the exact same place on the exact same shelf, and nothing ever changes. I have shopped at many branches, and this one certainly does not live up to the standards of other Kohl's stores. It is unfortunate, because it is in an extremely convenient location, but I will still avoid going to this one, if I need to go at all. Only other issue was the cashiers won't let you go to a register. If you do, they yell at you to get back, and wait for one to open up. (twice, this has happened to me). I was frantically looking for 100s of dollars of stuff I needed for this weekend and when I looked for someone to help me, no one was around. I hate this Kohl's with a passion. 1. I was yelled at for exceeding the limit of coupons that I could use that day. I prefer being told nicely.. not yelled at by the manager (I think her name was Heidi). 2. There is always only one cashier and that cashier happens to be new. There is also always only one person at customer service... 3. IT IS BEYOND MESSY! What happened to all of your sales associates?! Please, CLEAN THE PLACE. I hate bringing an item to the cash register thinking it is on clearance because it's on the rack and then having to go back and find something else, and wait in an even longer line! 4. A lot of the older women that are cashiers always complain about how some customers do not know how to raise their children. I forgot her name but she had short hair.. 5. Terrible service at this store. I was shopping for men's semi casual dress shoes. I came across a pair of shoes where the entire line was on sale. I found a pair that I really liked. I searched for a sales associate and asked her to check the price for me. When the price came up at regular price I double check it and found that this particular color was the only one that obviously got missed as a discount. I searched for a sales associate to ask about giving me the sale price. I found a male sales associate, asked him about the discrepancy. He said that the price has to go through the corporate office, that he would not give me the sale pice. I asked to speak to a manager, he said that he was the manager on duty. I was extremely disappointed that he would not give me the sale price on the shoes when it was obvious that one particular color was missed. He even agreed the color was missed! I did not buy the shoes or the other items I had in my basket. I will never shop at this store again. So disappointed. read more
