This particular Burlington it's well stocked very clean and organized and the associates are just beyond awesome One thing that discourages me when I go to spend My money is being watched and hovered over. I understand theft happens in retail stores, but everyone is not a thief. But this particular store I feel very comfortable when I shop and if I need an associate, I don't have to walk through the whole store to ask one question they're easy to find.The floor is well stocked and very well organized as far as value, their prices are beyond amazing. And being on a limited income i'm able to take advantage of all sales without going broke Because they have layaway all I had to do was pay a small part of my total pay and then the rest in 30 days So I'm able to take advantage of the things that I like without going broke or missing out. The only takeaway that I would say is there's not a large selection of women's size 10 shoes i can also go down a 1/2 size 9 1/2 and not a large selection of those as well other than that, this store and its employees are above awesome. i always avoid this store because although it's the closest to me, every time i go it is always packed yet understaffed. if there's enough people to have a line wrap around twice, then they definitely make enough money to pay people to be working the checkout for an easier exit for everyone. they do usually have decent stuff though or else this would be one star. read more

Next to North Gate supermarket with lots of parking. Lots of products to browse, sometimes it's unkept but they try their best to keep it tidy. Great prices for name brand products. They sell shoes, scarfs, toys, clothes, household items etc. The holiday is around the corner, so this is a great place to start looking for gifts. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. I don't, right off the bat we just felt that this location is veryyyy ghetto. People parked and sitting right at the entrance just "loitering". Employees didn't appear very professional, but the employee ringing us up at the register was nice. The store has a lot of merchandise, it did feel a little cramped and disorganized. Bought a charger 2 days ago and threw away the coz and recipe . Tried it for the first time and almost burned my apartment down. Brought it back in and showed them they still had lots of them in the shelf's and explained that it's unsafe to sell them. The associate just said I can't give you a refund without a box and recipe . Burlington used to go by the name Burlington Coat Factory. They sell more than just coats, so it made sense for them to just go by the name Burlington. It was my first time visiting this location. I stopped by with my wife after we finished shopping at Northgate Market which is next door. We like that they close late. On the night of our visit, they closed at 11:00pm. It is a large store and they sell clothing, shoes, and other home goods. So you'll find t-shirts, active wear, socks, jeans, coats, suit jackets with pants, slacks, ties and much more. Shoe selection was okay at best. I'm assuming a lot of the good stuff was purchased and not yet restocked on shelves. They sell some home cooking and kitchen supplies like pots, pans, and bake ware. I was quite surprised that they also sell an assortment of random food items. Lol... so if you're in a bind and need paprika, grapeseed oil, mango ginger habenero sauce, Himalayan sea salt, tumeric, or some other random spice, ingredient, or condiment, Burlington has you covered! They also have an aisle that has a bunch of pet stuff which is nice and also kind of random. You'll find pet food, beds, toys, leashes, bowls, and more. I guess they wouldn't stock it if it didn't sell, right? The store seemed alright, overall, as far as organization and cleanliness. We were able to look for the things we needed for Father's Day. My nephew and I just went to burlington around 6pm and looked for pants and clothes to buy, but when I picked them the dressing room was closed. How can you try them on and see if it fits you or if it's a good fit for you??? I asked one of the workers why they were closed, and she said, "they don't have anybody today, and it's closed. She also said that we can buy them, take it home, and try them and if it doesn't fit or don't like it, we can return it to any burlington store." So after we decided to buy them, the line was quite long too, and there's only one cashier working and saw at least 4 workers inside the store. I've probably been here at least 5 times and might have 1 shirt to show for it. Oh yeah, almost forgot, two ties also. (That I'll probably never wear) I'm sure there's something for many here, just not me. The other La Mesa location is much larger. Very limited stuff at this one. They call it a coat factory, but there sure aren't many coats here that I see. I tend to wear the most common sizes so that's why I can't find anything it seems. This store used to be super messy but in the past year it has been very nicely organized and well lit. I especially appreciate that they have a large section of wall art. The bathroom items are also very well stocked. At this store, as with most discounted fine things, if you see it, you MUST get it. If you hesitate and don't get it, someone else will buy it before you make it back in to shop. The bathrooms are always pretty clean and they only have hot air hand dryers; no paper towels. This store has on-site and in-store security (high crime area?) so be prepared to see that. The size if this store is pretty large and the store is generally clean and organized. The clothing selection is the best thing about this store. They offer a wide rage of sizes and types of clothing. The prices are generally good and you can really find a good steal with clearance items. I found a beautiful skirt for $6.99 and received compliments on it all day. You can't get much better than that. I have found clothes for my son starting at $1.99 and since he grows so fast I can easily spend the money on new clothes. The one thing I think this store is lacking is a good home goods section. There is not a good selection of kitchen item. I also love trying to find good tea at a steal (which I often do at Marshalls and TJ Maxx) unfortunately the selection at this store is very limited and I have yet to find anything to buy. My biggest compliant about this store is the customer service. I have stood in like for fifteen minutes because there are ten people in line and two registers open. Sometimes I feel like I get lucky and they open a third register only to be disappointed when another cashier walks away. They do not call for back up and don't seem to care that people are wasting time standing in these long lines. read more

It's not a pleasant experience shopping here!!! First of all, people treat this place like it's their babysitter. Little kids are ALWAYS ruining lose like wild animals yelling and screaming and causing unnecessary commotion! One time a little kid took his diaper off and started pooping right in the aisle!!!! Dirty disgusting! The workers never say anything either. But I bet they did after having to cleanup a biohazards!! I managed to find these ballerina light pink flats. They were $14.99. They were Steve Madden brand. I ended up buying them. I also got my daughter some shorts that were on sale. If you look hard enough, there are great deals on stuff. I love to go shopping. This store was clean and had lots to choose from. I saw some cute brand name bags here but maybe next time. I just don't like the location of this Burlington Coat Factory. Anything in the University area is so sketchy and ghetto. The only negative was the line. There were only two registers but another one opened up. I just don't like waiting in line for 30 minutes. Line went fast which was a relief. read more

This Burlington's is fairly new to the area so I wanted to check it out and to possibly find a pair of tennis shoes. It was clean and very organized. There was lots of merchandise to look at in the various departments but the racks were not full. I saw many staff members on the floor stocking, and talking to one another so not much customer service was offered. I spent most of my visit in the shoe departments and was disappointed with the selection. Overall, I wasn't impressed but I would visit them again to checkout some of the clothing and accessories items because the prices were very good. read more

You want good quality and brand shoes/purses/clothes/baby items/kitchenware/snacks/undergarments-you name it! Very good selections. Every time i come here, i genuinely enjoy it. Everything i get here is super cute and love coming for gifts! They have 99cent huge reusable bags which i love using for presents they're very cute! I applied online for employment at the store on University Ave. I received two notifications for a phone interview. I had to reschedule the phone interview and again received two notifications of the updated date and time. On the day of my interview I waited 15 minutes for the phone call, as instructed, and then called the store. when I introduced myself and asked for Management because I had a phone interview I was told that they were no longer hiring at that location and that they won't be hiring again until March. Mind you, when I called the store the recording reminded me that the store was hiring and I should apply. I didn't believe my ears and thought that maybe it was some rogue employee playing games. I personally walked into the store and was greeted at the door by the Manager of the store who told me that SHE is not hiring now and that SHE will be looking at applications in March and notifying potential employees. I'm confused. I looked online for an email address to lodge my complaint but the link took me to a page that wasn't active. read more

I have to admit, I normally tend to be wary of Burlington Coat Factory ... just because I've been to some really, really dirty ones in the past (that require gingerly sifting through things and downright digging). However, I was pleasantly surprised when I paid a visit to the local Burlington that recently opened in my area. The store shares a lot with a few other businesses, but the parking lot is large with ample stalls. I remember seeing the large "NOW OPEN" signs late last fall, but when I was at the checkout counter, I asked the cashier how long the store has actually been open. She said their grand opening was a week before Thanksgiving 2014. No wonder the store still looks really new, bright and clean! Not only that, but the staff was really friendly. During my visit--I think I was there for about 45 minutes--I was asked if I needed any help by a staff member (did not happen during my previous trips to Burlington), and the cashier was super helpful as well. (She actually told me that the store was messy on the day I went ... after I told her that this location was one of the cleanest stores I had ever been to! But it's good to know that they take cleanliness seriously there). Besides the store's new appearance, bright look and cleanliness factor, I noticed that the shelves were pretty well stocked and the items were organized. Of course, there were some things that were out of place, but the store itself just had a neater, tidier appearance than most. When I went to the various sections--bags/jewelry, clothes, home, décor--I was able to browse the various items on display without feeling like I had to dig and really make an effort to sort through everything just to look at a specific item. Great job to the staff for attempting to keep things more organized here. I especially enjoyed perusing the bags/purses in particular. I wasn't looking for anything specific, but I ended up spending the majority of my first visit to this Burlington in this section ... and came away with future birthday presents for four different friends, thanks to the sweet deals and markdowns. The prices are pretty great on some of the smaller purses, wristlets and wallets, so if you're ever in this section, be sure to check out the accessories! I didn't spend much time in the shoe section--couldn't find anything I liked in smaller sizes--but rest assured that the shoe section as a whole is EXTENSIVE. There's rows and rows of shoes, so you can bank on a large assortment. I ending up spending the remaining of my time there wandering the home/kitchen aisles. I don't need any more dishes/cooking gear (I could always use more, but don't have space for more), but you can find legit stuff from Rachel Ray, pans from Cake Boss and other name-brand stuff. If I had more space in my kitchen ... I totally would have bought more dishes, pots and pans. Needless to say, if you're ever in this area of San Diego, this particular Burlington Coat Factory is worth visiting. You may not have any intention of buying things--like me--and finding yourself walking out with more than you bargained for! But, besides the good bargains, you can guarantee a good buying experience -- friendly service, a cleaner store and a large selection of items to choose from. Granted, the store's only been open for a few months, but its appearance, product assortment and customer service make this location promising. I will most definitely be back! read more

I've always been a fan of Burlington, and i frequently visited the other two locations in La Mesa and Clairemont. I was super excited that they were opening this location right next to my house, but unfortunately the selections here aren't as great as the other places. Yes they have something here for everyone. Women Men Children Pets Beauty Products Household Items Random gifts and junk But overall, the selection here is a lot more outdated and it's harder for me to find something I like. I couldn't find an employee to assist me, after looking I finally found someone. They were friendly and helpful after finding them.
