Came in with my family expecting a quick and easy shopping trip, but unfortunately the experience turned very uncomfortable due to how the situation inside the store was handled by management and staff. There appeared to be someone suspected of stealing, which I completely understand can be stressful for employees, but the way it was handled was extremely unprofessional and created an awkward environment for every paying customer in the store. Instead of trying to calmly de escalate the situation and maintain professionalism, the employees were loudly arguing and making the entire atmosphere tense. I politely asked if they could open the second register so I could simply pay for our shirt and leave with my family because we were feeling uncomfortable. Rather than helping or acknowledging the concern, one of the employees started yelling across the store saying they had "someone stealing inside." That response was unnecessary, immature, and honestly shocking customer service. Situations like this are exactly why management and staff training matter. Customers should never feel trapped in the middle of store drama or loss prevention issues. A mature and experienced team would know how to handle situations discreetly while still taking care of paying customers respectfully. read more

I do not know about Zumiez until my teenager son asked me to take him shopping one day. I guess this is the "cool" boutique for teenagers in this generation. Pants are expensive! It's $70 for one pro-clubs and tshirts $35 each. I got my son his new customized skateboard here too, and that was expensive as well. The skate board itself cost $229, plus the padding and helmet, it rang up to $330 for everything. The premade skateboard is less expensive starts at $199, prices varies depending on the design and materials used, but may son preferred to customize his own skateboard so that's why we paid a little more. It was a really nice skateboard tho, it's high quality and the guy who was helping us was very knowledgeable and helpful. We went to the zumiez in Fashion Valley Mall. This might be our 2nd trip of many. Prices are expensive but the joy on my son's face picking his own outfit and getting cool swag makes it worth it. read more

First I want to say my in store experience was very positive and the sales associate with the box braids was incredibly personable and friendly, and she helped me pick some things out. My issue is with the tag on the jeans I purchased being originally $59.95 and a tag added slightly over the top of that saying $64.94 which is what they rang up. In California this is not legal to do. I was told that it was due to tariffs (but worded differently) however this item's tags dated 1/27 so this piece of clothing is not affected by current tariffs. Sunday July 14th at Fashion Valley. My daughters and I took my youngest to shop there. Upon entering the store we were greeted by Dustin he was very welcoming, kind, and very social with us and as we observed with all customers who entered in the store. Dustin introduced himself when he approached us and asked us if we were looking for anything particular and he told us about the deal/sale they had going on, he walked us over to show us the section of the shirts pants and shorts and he asked for sizes we needed, super helpful a and very engaging with my daughters and younger one. Dustin continued to greet customers and before he walked away to assist other customers he called over an associate Fernando, he told him what and how he was helping us and Fernando was also amazing he was friendly and social and he also continued to tell us about other store items on sale and make recommendations based on what styles and colors my child was looking for that was amazing. Throughout the hour or hour and a half both Dustin and Fernando continued to check in on us and helps us make our final purchase we had a great experience in that store we got the best customer service from these 2 store employees, they made the shopping experience in the store extremely pleasant. No stress all our questions answered and they made lots of suggestions and recommendations to us from ordering in store for delivery to checking in stock items and availability it truly was a stress free shopping experience! When we left the store my younger child said I liked shopping in there they were very nice and helpful they treat us good in there that comment came from my 15 year old. So While I was purchasing a shirt at the counter I realized I got the wrong size, (it was on the top shelf) so I asked if I could have help/get the right size, a different employee than the one at the counter helping me, gets the new shirt and from up on the ladder throws... yes THROWS... the folded shirt to the counter, from 10 ft away obviously not being able to make it, then the shirt slides off the surface of the counter onto the Dirtiest/Dustiest floor. Started with a hoodie my daughter was gifted to her from her brother for Christmas. Was a bit nervous because she had removed the tag, however, she kept the gift receipt and never wore it. There were 2 employees working when me and my cousin came in there was a girl and a guy. The guy wore his mask the whole time however the female employee was not. When she noticed we entered she pulled it up to greet us as we entered the store but as we began to browse she pulled it back down while going through inventory. When I look back again she had a vape in her hand and took a hit in the middle of the store and proceeded to keep her mask tucked under her chin. She was also talking to her coworker and asking him things like "Why are you mad at me?" "Why aren't you talking to me" "What's wrong with you" when he was visibly distressed from a previous customer purchase with possible counterfeit money and finally was like "I feel like I'm carrying this whole team on my back" to which she replied "I hate when you say that". My 15 year old son LOVES this store and it's the one store he asks to go to. My chagrin is that it's way too overpriced. There are Diamond brand shirts (for example) that are nearly $45 l. It's a t-shirt :( They do have good sales at times however and that is usually when he and I will shop in there. The staff was fine but they're young and so product knowledge of quality isn't too in depth. But I would do some research on the item you're looking into before making a definite purchase here. Google the shoe or outfit as you're more than likely going to find a better deal elsewhere. I came in to look for a pair of suede blue vans and we got distracted as we were walking around and none of them would ask if I needed help until i approached one of the workers and he was pretty chill, something was going on with the computer and I'm guessing the girl he was talking to was the manager or whatever, I zoned out of their conversation after while and she rudely came up to me and asked my shoe size but i didn't hear her the first and then she yelled "Hello? What size are you?!" And I looked her and said 8 or 8 and a half, and while she was looking for them I was at the front with my friends looking at stickers and he asked us to move aside so he can ring up another guy and as we moved, a fanny pack looking bag fell and we kicked it over because the girl was being rude af anyways, and that's when some other guy with plugs and a 4hunnid shirt yelled at me and said "you can take what you dropped in your bag out i saw you" and I asked him what he was talking about and showed him what I had in my Spencer's bag. Y'all got some rude ass workers and I don't appreciate the accusations as if I don't have my own money to buy a fucking bag. I have a friend who works at Zumiez and I know they don't have much security, so either you get some nicer workers or get better security system to hop off the customers that are just LOOKING at the cool items in the store. Zumiez and Tillys are my all time favorite places to go but if they're going to be so mean and yell at me for everything then y'all should go out of business for all I care. First off- I am not one to typically complain on Yelp just because I've had one bad experience but EVERY time I come into this store it's always a mess. The employees just sit behind the counter eating snacks and texting on their phones and when you actually brace yourself enough to ask for help they gawk at you like a bunch of teenagers. I came in after seeing sign that said "buy one beanie get one 50% off" Once I came in, Nick, only one working there, asked if i was looking for anything in particular. I told him their beanie sign brought me in and i need one. Then he told me about their "buy one jacket get one free" deal. I was sold, he showed me the rack of winter jackets. We were just browsing the store like any other person does and there was a lady behind the cash wrap and she asked me what I was looking for and she apparently got mad because I couldn't answer her question with a specific item.
