This store has never fit my needs. I've been to many other Kohls and they pay attention to seasons, have very organized racks and typically carry each size... this location doesn't even have Christmas (holiday) party wear. 3 generic dresses in the juniors section and some itchy sparkle sweaters in the women's section is hardly holiday wear... Kohls, PAY ATTENTION!!! So many retail stores are failing and going out of business... this is part of why. If it's mid Nov - end of Jan, put holiday party attire in this store. Tonight I went to Kohls to buy my teenage son some underwear and myself a belt. I am a Kohl's charge card account holder, but I will be severely limiting my shopping there from now on. I went to the men's department first to get my sons underwear and noticed that they were selling Hanes boxer briefs in a four or five pack for $38. They were on sale for buy one get one 50% off. Even with the sale they seemed expensive so I got on my phone and looked up Walmart prices as I have bought Hanes boxer briefs there before. Horrible experience this morning at Kohls in Santee. There was only one person checking out. Our family asked if there was another rep checking out. We were directed to the return line where multiple customers were returning items after a 10 min wait we decided to go back to the other rep. She was having issues with her computer so I happen to see what I thought might be a manager. I asked her she was, she claimed she was and literally As I was talking to her the rep at the register interrupted and asked the manager a question and the manager turned her back on me mid sentence as walked away from me. Bridget has got to be the rudest manager I have ever met. Managers are supposed to have people skills, problem solvers. Not to mention tentative to customer issues. Not BRIDGET. Maybe she can take some soft skill training to help her with her customer interactions. read more

customer service is one of the worst i've dealt with. bought 2 shirts that were advertised on the rack as "2 for $20." obviously we bought 2 (1 for me and 1 for a gift). the gal receiving the gift already had the same shirt. no biggie. i'll go exchange it. 2 very rude employees later i was told that the price rung up lower cause that shirt was on clearance and on the incorrect rack. well then you should probably move the other 13 shirts from the exact same rack! it's been 3 days since i purchased the top, and it had tags on it with original receipt and all they offer is a store credit! why would i spend any more of my money on your overpriced items that i cannot get refunded for and told by 2 employees that it's my problem that the shirts were in the wrong place? even walmart has a better return policy. read more

The store is understaffed, disorganized and they need to instill friendly customer service. Their products are over-priced and horribly made. Most products I have purchased from there have fallen apart after a couple of uses. People need to understand they are not saving anything on the Kohl's product, because the company marks the items up at least 600% (no joke), then puts it on "sale" for 60% or so off and give you Kohl's cash. All business practice this deception; however, there are way better stores out there (i.e. Sears, JC Penney's; etc.) that offer better product with cheaper regular priced items, which makes a sale even better. read more

My mother-in-law gave me a gift certificate to Kohl's for my birthday. I hadn't been there in years, so I was happy to have an excuse to check it out. Everything was so cheap! I ended up getting two shirts and a cute pair of earrings for under $25. The shirts I bought have been washed several times now and are still in good condition with no sign of wear (sometimes when I buy things that are cheap, they fall apart when washed). They had a good selection of other departments, and it seemed to be a good place to buy things like sheet sets and towels. I couldn't believe the prices on the things I bought, and they've become some of my favorite items in my closet. read more

Went to checkout at guest services because no one was in line there. Seriously had two items to scan and ring up. Should have been a 1 minute transaction, but left the store without purchasing. This review isn't necessarily a bad review in the sense the store is bad. It's more about the men's close options. I am a large guy, I wear XXL usually. There isn't one XXL shirt at Kohl's that is a true XXL size. Not sure why they started making XXL slim size. even the regular XXL don't come close to fitting right. read more

I'm only giving them one star because I have to give them something. In go in and out of Khols now and then and have a credit card so I can make online purchases. Since I work two jobs my time is very limited so paying bills on line helps a great deal. I had made some gift purchases and went and payed my bill on line. I though it had gone through but Unfortunately, it didn't. I found that it was quite over due after having my credit checked whilst refinancing my loan on my home. They put a blight on my credit report and refused to remove it, even after I payed the bill in full. This is ridiculous as I have put charges on and off for years and have never had this problem in the past. We had to make a tricky exchange and there were a lot of moving parts to make sure we got the sales price and have our Kohl's cash honored. Throughout a 30 minute return and ordering process, Juliana was an absolute rock star of customer service. She was patient in answering all of questions and through her product knowledge, she was able to offer us an amazing shirt for a better price than we had been hoping for! I would not even give this store a single star or my review would be negative stars if that was an option. Today as I checked out ($107 worth of merchandise with a 30% coupon) a few items were accidently left in a top pocket on the cart and as I exited the store, I was aggressively confronted by security staff and told to return to the store. As I turned the cart around I saw the items remaining in the cart that had not been paid for at the register. I immediately asked if this was the reason I was being asked back into the store and explained I did not see the items and I was so sorry I missed them. The person escorting me would not tell me what was going on and the aggressive nature in which he approached me startled me. All total approximately $30 worth of greeting cards and costume jewelry were the items missed. The top pocket collapse where the items were and makes the items hard to see and easy to miss. I was taken to a back room with no explanation and asked to give them my driver's license. Another staff person came in plus another loss prevention person and eventually the Store Manager. I was made to feel like a criminal and told the corporate policy was zero tolerance and since I left the store with merchandise that had not been paid for I would be banned for life. I have never been more humiliated and embarrassed. The staff continued to defend their actions in spite of the fact that it was clearly an oversight and accident. They also continued to claim this was a corporate policy and they were only enforcing the policy. After returning home and calling their corporate headquarters, I spoke with a manager and I was told he had never heard of customers being treated like this and this was not Kohl's corporate policy. I made a few more phone calls and explained how upsetting and embarrassing this was to me. I spoke to one of the loss prevention staff that had held me in the backroom and asked him how often this situation had happened and he said at least 100! I asked if I had acted in a way to make him suspicious and he admitted he saw me at the register. So if he saw the items being missed as I was checking out why would he not have said something before I went out the door or say something to the cashier whose interaction and comments to me were questionable??? The loss prevention person kept claiming he did not profile me based on my looks or dress or the type of bag I was carrying. In addition to calling Kohl's Corporate, I called the Loss Prevention Manager in Oceanside and she was extremely sorry and apologetic and said she believed me. She promised they would communicate this to staff and would use what happened to me as a training opportunity. I will never step foot in another Kohl's store. I have been a faithful and loyal customer for years and did not deserve to be treated this way. Perhaps if those carts remain in use, the cashier should be in the habit of asking the customers if there is any more merchandise in the pockets that collapse. In addition the loss prevention staff should have solid facts before drawing conclusions or profiling customers as thieves. read more

The merchandise is generally pretty good, but displayed in a messy fashion. They give senior citizens a 10% discount on all days except Wednesday, when they give senior citizens (60+) a 15% discount. They will not TELL YOU ABOUT THE DISCOUNT, YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT. I waited over five minutes by the register for someone to help me. I had to go to the Jewelry Dept to ask them to send someone over to the register. The clerk behind the counter pointed to another register some ways over and indicated that register was open. I am handicapped and standing and waiting for help was difficult. Why can't they put a sign by the registers that indicate they are closed and an arrow pointing to the open registers??? I parked in the handicapped location specifically to be near a register and then they expect me to take a hike about 3/4 of a city block to a different register??? The person at the Jewelry counter did ring me up but she was very rude about it. I asked her about the discount but since she had already processed the transaction that was not possible. I could have taken the stuff I just purchased to the Cust Service Center and gotten a refund and then repurchased it, but that was too far to walk. Beware if you shop here. If you are 60+, you must ask for the discount. By the way, not all Kohl's offer the 10% discount but all offer the 15% discount on Wednesdays, BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR THE DISCOUNT. read more

When I got to section, item not clearly listed so I sought help was told a specific price by salesperson and even clarified twice before heading to cashier when I got to cashier item that was just scanned for me by salesperson to be 99 comes up 199.oo In was there 30 min while they went back and forth and mngr argued. My sister introduced me to this place for my business attire. I usually just go to nordstroms for all my dress pants and button up shirts, but kohl's has some great quality brands for up to 40% sometimes. I save a lot of money by coming here for my clothes, and as a card member you get kohl's cash to spend on your next purchase...so it's basically like being paid to shop, and as someone who tries to avoid shopping as often as possible, I wouldn't have it any other way. read more

I have to say for the most part I have had a hate relationship with Kohl's...the lines are always long and the clothes are on the cheap side. Also their woman's sizes seem to run big so they don't normally have my size. I have purchased shoes. men's clothes and home items on occasion. Well in a moment of desperation I went here looking for bathing suits this past weekend. My DH and I are going to Hawaii and I haven't been able to find any suits I like that aren't topping $100.
