I wasn't really familiar with Kohl's stores until I've seen them while searching through SlickDeals. I was in the market for a new vacuum, Dyson DC25 Animal to be exact. Kohl's price matched another store's sale price, then also took off 15% + $10 off in coupons which they allow you to stack (will probably need a kohl's charge card). I also received $60 in Kohl's cash for later use. If you use ebay you can also save additional money by buying Kohl's gift cards/merch credit for discounted prices (make sure seller is reputable first though). read more

Shopping at Kohl's used to be nice but sometimes it is cold in the store. When I complained to customer service they said the air conditioning was controlled by corporate. This was so stupid because it was so cold outside and colder inside the store. My experience now is that the music is so loud. I was trying to talk to an employee and we couldn't even hear each other. It's even louder if you are under a speaker. Makes me nervous and it's not a pleasurable experience to shop at Kohl's anymore. I understand that the young kids like their loud music but isn't there some kind of music where customers would want to stay longer and shop? Instead I try to hurry and get out of there. Oh, and not to mention the dirty women's dressing rooms. I would have to say at least the last 12 years EVERY time I go in a dressing room it is full of lint and dust on the floor. When I'm trying something on I don't want to touch the floor so I take in a piece of Kohl's clothing to put on the floor like a mat while I try clothes on. Sorry Kohl's but I have no choice. One other problem is that the manager who works in the area with the towels doesn't know how to display them correctly. They are displayed backwards with the pattern in the back and the fold in the front. I asked the guy that was putting them out and he said that the manager said it's easier for the customer to pick up with the fold in the front facing you. I want to see the pattern and what the towel looks like not where it is folded in half. When I'm in there I turn them around :-) I used to shop every few weeks but now I go elsewhere because of the music etc. When I go shopping I browse a lot and I used to know even when changes were made or things moved. Now I don't enjoy it......and please don't answer back and say your sorry for the experience. That doesn't help and I will spend my money elsewhere like Penny's or Macy's. This is the best Kohls in San Diego County. It's not any where near where I live but I will drive the extra so I can shop here. It has more selection than any of the other stores and very clean. All Kohls employees are definitely very accommodating to the customers about coupons, they never seem to be annoyed when you have $20 kohls cash, $10 rewards, a 20% off coupon and pay with your kohs card and always remember to give you your kohls cash or promo for your next visit. Kohls definitely has a great marketing team and has won me for a customer for life for home decor, my kids clothes, and boyfriends gym apparel. read more

I was so loyal to Mervyn's, and upset over its demise, that I really didn't want to like Kohl's...but slowly I've really come to enjoy shopping there. They carry men's business clothes that are actually long enough for my slim 6'4" son. They have fun brands for women, like Mudd, that have a creative designs and are still businesslike. Really good selection of sheets, towels, shoes and underwear. Great return policy; it feels like they always give the customer the benefit of the doubt when there's a question. Love the long hours too! Only reason I rated Kohl's a 4 was because sometimes they have really long lines. And the reward coupons make you come back and spend more to use them-- not good when you're on a budget and trying to be frugal. read more

I had to return a bathing suit top. I walked right in to customer service and was greeted by Olivia. She made things so much easier. I shopped for a new top and simply exchanged it for another. I love Kohl's, but ever since they had their remodel, it seems like they cut back on staff or something. The clothes are never stocked and always hung on the incorrect size hanger. Why did they spend all that money if they present disheveled product? Very disappointed in the presentation lately. I've been to this Kohls many times and everything has been fine. However the other day I went in there to get a pair of shoes for work. I found the shoes I wanted and proceeded to go to the register to pay for them. When I got there the cashier took BOTH shoes out and looked at them. I payed for them and went home. The next day I went to put them on and the the alarm thing was still attached to them. So not only could I not were them. I also had to all the way back to Kohls to go it removed. A few days later my wife took the shoes back to Kohls to get the alarm removed and the lady that did it was really rude about it and never did offer up an apology. All of this could have been avoided if the original cashier had seen the alarm when she looked at BOTH shoes in the first place. I would have giving Kohls 2 stars for all this but like I have said I have been in there many time with no problem so I an giving them an extra star for that. read more

Today Kohl's advertised an offer, also today is a holiday so people were off work. You would think the Manager would have staffed accordingly - NOT!!!! Lines 30 ppl. deep and two people manning registers on the men's side of store - ridiculous!!!! Save yourself the headache - shop on line. Wow, Christmas is right around the corner the lady behind me said last year she shopped Black Friday and waited 3 1/2 hrs. in line - NO WAY am I going to shop Kohls....BOO! I also was accused of shoplifting...I had brought some earrings into the dressing room so I could see what they looked like with a shirt that i really liked. I usually never where earrings but thought maybe I would start again since they have really cool designs now. When i left the dressing room I grabbed my $200 of merchandise (clothes) and threw it into the black netted cart. Well in my rush I forgot that the earrings were in my mess so I spotted some on the floor and threw them into the cart, where they ended up in my purse by mistake. I had placed my purse in the bottom of the cart, which I always do when shopping there, and my purse was open (it was the first time using my new purse which i love) I had opened it so I could get my cell phone out to call my friend who was with me because I could not find her. I assumed that the earrings would end up at the bottom of the cart and i would give them to the cashier...I didnt like them or want them. We shopped for 2 hours. I was approached outside by a woman and a young boy with the woman yelling at me and waving the little tag that holds the earrings. I was in shock! At first i had no idea what she was talking about. So into the little room....I voluntarily dumped out my purse and to my horror, the earrings were there. I tried to explain that it was an accident and that i would never steal but she didnt want to hear it. In her mind I was guilty. i couldnt believe it!!!!!!! My friend that was with me was also upset and tried to talk to the woman but she wouldnt listen. I was also told that I could never come back or shop at any other KOHLS. Like I really want to after that experience. I am 48 years old, had a $1000 dollar limit on my Kohls charge card, That was the first time using it...and the last. I was beyond upset to be treated like scum. I really do hope that Karma comes around to bite KOHLS in the ass! I cried that whole night and am still beyond belief on how this honest mistake turned into something so ugly. And when i heard that KOHLS is having a contest on how many shoplifters the employees can catch and that they get free lunch with the mangers and other "prizes" I am appalled. Kohl's in Santee is having a contest to see who can bust the most shop lifters. Last week my neighbor...who is NOT a thief...accidentally walked out of the store with a jewelry tree she had placed in the basket beneath her babies stroller. She purchased about $100 worth of clothes which had been piled on the top of the stroller. She was apprehended in the parking lot and has been banned from the store. She did NOT steal. Had they given her a chance to discover her mistake as she folded the stroller she would have walked back in and paid for it. Since then I have learned of another incident from my son. He and my DIL know a woman who had the same experience at the Santee Kohl's. Her small child who was in a stroller, apparently grabbed something off a shelf and had it in his hand when she left the store. She did not know her child had the item. She was apprehended as she left the store, was given a citation for shop lifting and has been banned from the store. My guess is that she was given the citation because she refused to sign the store paperwork that my friend signed. When you refuse the sheriff gets a phone call. She now has a misdemeanor on her record. My son said, "Mom, she is NOT a thief." I cannot post the pic here but my friend who was "caught" took a picture of a poster in the "interrogation room." The poster gives the details of the contest. The people who bust the most shoppers gets a trophy and lunch with managers. read more

On Friday, Sept. 23, I went into the Kohl's in Santee. This was only my second time in a Kohl's because the first time, which was on Scripps Poway Pkwy when it first opened, was a turn-off. I went into Kohl's on 9/23 to buy a swimming Rash Guard top as I'd seen them advertised online at your store. I walked into the store and three salesclerks ignored me. I approached a young woman who appeared to be a manager and explained what I wanted. Without saying a word she led me to bathing suit tops. I told her I wanted the long sleeve swim tops that provide sun protection and warmth in cold water, and I saw online that Kohl's carries a large selection. She said "I guess we don't have them" and she walked away. So twice in a Kohl's and twice I've received rude treatment and lack of service. I won't be back. I'd give less than one star if possible - no stars would be more appropriate. read more

My aunt bought me and my cousins some gifts when she was visiting San Diego from new jersey , she bought them somewhere near la but she is not sure exactly where and she paid cash when we got our gifts some of them did not fit so I returned them at Kohl's in Santee, and I have only made 1 return ever at Kohl's in my life. So when I went in there I was issued a corporate refund. Witch was not a big deal but when I called 10 days later I was told that I had to know exactly when where and how my aunt paid or I was told that they would not give me anything , my aunt was unsure of the where so they told me that without that I would get nothing . I felt like they were treating me like a thief who stole these items and was trying to do a bad return. But like I said I have only ever did 1 return a Kohl's in my life . And now they are not only not going to refund my items but they said I can't have them back. So now I feel like they are stealing from me. Finally! I found a kohls that I genuinely like! Great products and great service. Went in during a busy Father's Day sale and walked out with some nice Nike shorts, a couple new shirts and my favorite, Nike running shoes that were only $54. The shoes that I originally wanted were not in my size but Allison in the shoes department helped me find ones that I like even more, plus they were cheaper! I anticipated that I would have to wait in a long line but it went fast and the cashier was nice. Definitely a good selection. Would come here again. read more

I went to make an exchange, I had tried unsuccessfully to find jeans and shirts that could fit my husband to his liking (tags still attached, never worn) and exchange them for clothes for my children. Instead of allowing me to exchange, they did a return and deducted the kohls cash I had earned from that purchase and used in another purchase. This is disgraceful and I will not shop at a store that uses this rip off tactic. *The amount of clothes I intended to purchase for my children exceeded what I was returning and I would have had to pay the difference. Instead you ensured that I will never shop Kohls again nor will any of my family. read more

So I was in love with Khol's but now I'm disappointed. The first time I noticed I brushed it off thinking maybe it was a mistake but I went back again this week and I saw it again. They mark up the prices higher then the MSRP by putting a Kohl's sticker over the MSRP with the Kohl's price. Yes, there are always sells so your going to pay less then that if you get it on sale and with a coupon but it made me mad because it's not right... very disappointed. read more

I seldom go to Kohls because I think their merchandise is poor quality and over priced. Besides they never have my size in stock, However, today I saw an ad in their flier for various styles of hose. There was one in particular that peaked my interest. I spent at least 10 minutes trying to find any of them and finally had to ask a checkout clerk to get me help. There was not a floor clerk to be found. Long story short, they did not carry one of the advertised hose. Store clerk stated she did not recognize any of the styles. Poor advertising. The return policy is NOT EASY or CONVENIENT!! If you return something that you bought using your KOH'LS CASH to help with the purchase, you will LOSE IT!! You have to exchange it for an item at exactly the same price. it can't be more even though you will pay the difference with real money. Also you can't buy more than an item to equal the cost. The policy is 1 item at price you paid for 1 new item at same price. If not you loose the Kohl's cash you earned in the first sale. This sucks!! Anything to make you spend more!! read more

I've been to lots of the other Kohls near me, but I still prefer the Santee location. I've had really good luck to always have great service there and they stock the sizes for me and my husband a lot more often than other Kohls nearby. There's just something about the store that says that they care about their customers and their professional ambience and I like that! read more

If Kohl's would spend a bit less money tarting up their stores and a little more on teaching their employees some basic customer service skills, they could be a first rate second rate operation. Too many times I've seen a dozen people in line, and one sleepy, barely interested clerk in slo mo who could not care less. Last time, a lady came in off the street and highjacked the only check out clerk with a problem about an item she'd bought. Everything STOPPED, and the folks in line with money in hand could just hold their water until her problem was solved. I finally put my stuff down and just said to Hell with it. Time is money, and that certainly includes mine. Lots of stores sell clothes. There's nothing special or unique at Kohl's to justify the long breadlines, slow service, and endless waiting required to get out of the place. Shop here only if you have all the time in the world, because you will certainly be treated like you do. read more
