I love this location. It isn't as crazy as other stores in the area. The store is organized and they have great items on clearance.

Locations: -remaining Bob's Stores seem to be scattered to the four winds. This one in Randolph (and one in Taunton) are closest to the South Shore-- definitely a drive. Merchandise: -clothing and shoes for men, women and children -tends to be athletic-related brands like Nike, Adidas, Marmot, Columbia, Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS). Small amount of non-athletic brands like Calvin Klein, Levis, Carhartt, etc. -some sporting good items like skateboards, pads/helmets, yoga/pilates gear, soccer balls, kickballs, and even a random kayak. Definitely not the selection/variety of larger box stores, when it comes to sporting goods, but a fair cross-section. Service/Checkout: -despite visiting the weekend after Thanksgiving (when stores are usually mobbed), Bob's was pleasantly busy. There was very little wait time for checkout, and they had 3 registers open. -both cashiers we interacted with were pleasant and helpful, inputting the 30% off coupon listed on their website (but strangely, missing a barcode to scan). Price: -with all the sales going on this past weekend, Bob's was definitely competitive with other big-box stores. Most everything had a 25% off sale on it, some even higher (my jacket was listed as 50% off). Problem is, with all the signs, it's difficult for the consumer to determine what the final price will ACTUALLY be. -coupons available online and in flyers. Be sure to check online, as they do allow you to double up on coupons and sales. Example: my $100 EMS jacket was on sale for 50% off, then there was a coupon for 30% off any one clothing item. Note, the 30% off comes off of the discounted price (i.e., 30% off of $50). So, I was able to get an awesome EMS jacket originally priced at $100 for $34. Winning. If I'm on the hunt for athletic wear that doesn't scream soccer mom, I'd definitely choose Bob's Stores. They have tons of clothing I'd wear from brands I know and trust, and are at the very least competitive with other big-box stores. Worth the trip, in my opinion.

Clothes aren't nice enough to give snooty boutique treatment…read more I brought my 14 year old daughter into this empty establishment full of cubicle clothes, in hopes of being fitted for her 8th grade semi-formal. She prefers to dress like a male, and clearly this bothered the staff there, as they chose to appear too busy folding clothes to make the store any money. The older woman with the accent asked if she could help us, and I said "we're looking for slacks, a shirt and vest for my daughter for her prom". She asked what size slacks, I responded 28", and she informed me that they start at size 30". I followed up with, "what about a shirt and vest?", she replied "for who?, I said "for me", she said, "what size are you?", and I repeated to her that we were there to shop my daughter, who was standing next to me feeling awkward enough as is. The sad thing is, we were at the Boston Pride parade the day before, and my daughter felt so good about herself, then the following day, this clothes folder takes it upon herself to make the conversation as difficult as possible to not assist my child. After we looked through the call-center-special clothes for another minute or so, we realize that we were definitely in the wrong place for what we were in search of. A man with a measuring tape comes out from the back, speaks to the woman that couldn't assist us, then asks what he can help us with. I told HIM, "I'm looking to have my daughter dressed for the prom" he responds with a laugh, "they still have those?".. good one, Don Wrinkles.. I went to the store because for some reason I thought "Jos A" was Joseph Abboud, who is a classy man that goes to the same gym as me. I asked the comedian with the frumpy clothes if Joseph Abboud owned the store and he said they didn't, so we left, as we were clearly in the wrong place. We went to Macy's across the street, found my daughter a nice black Calvin Klein suit and she is ready for her semi! I will never return to Jos A Bank again, and am tempted to go beyond this post in spreading the word of how they judged/treated my child.

A wanderer in a new world, holding myself against a tide of modernity. It seems there are few of me left. Few haggard stragglers, refusing to let the tide take ya! And yet here I am, on my iPhone twenty-something or other, tip-tapping away on a make believe screen talking about my times. My times...my father used to come home with hell on his breath, puttin' the fear of god in me. His knuckles smelled like the textile mill. "Be a man!" He would shout, my mother would try to hold him back but anyway... I'm still here, an old man but still here. So take that. Where was I again? I remember the age of Patti Page, the age of fast-talking, ciggy smoking, bitch slapping men. What ever happened to the dean martins of the world anyway? What happened to the world of ford sunliners and plymouths with tailfins and dads playing ball in the front lawn in fitted suits? My dad used to huck the ball at my head when I dropped a ball. Said he was trying to make me into a star ballplayer. Well, my friends, Milton's is the store for men. Not just any kind of men, real men. The men of the past. It even smells like the past in here too. Kind of like my pappy's root cellar, mildew included. That's really not the point though. Here, you can find all your fine suited needs. Wingtip shoes, fedoras, seersucker pleats and belts to boot. It is almost like the past, but it lacks something. Maybe the fear of god or of communism. Sometimes I come here to feel more at home in a world gone mad. Cheers.

In searching for someone who sold Tommy Hilfiger suits and could help, Milton's came up as one of the results. Taking a chance, I called the Chestnut Hill location and talked to Joe, who was filling in at the location. Let me tell you, for someone who is in full panic mode to talk to someone as knowledgeable, calm and willing to help was a God send. Joe took the time to listen to what I needed. He helped me with finding something that would work for the groomsmen and went above and beyond to make getting them shipped to me easy. I also spoke with Tim, who was friendly, knowledgeable and a tremendous help. Today, retailers of any size seem to be so focused on the amount of the sale to increase profit, they forget about what the customer actual needs. Milton's is not like that in my experience. They helped a guy from over 1100 miles away that is only going to spend $300 dollars like he was the most important customer. Thank you Joe and Tim, I appreciate more than you.
