The rating is not fair to the entire crew at the location in sunset valley but the one person who was at the register today, Martha, needs to work on her people skills, especially if she is representing the store just before the customer exits the building. The store offers various ways to take advantage of discounts but she did not offer ways to save even though she had several opportunities to do so. She was not eager to help my family. My friend and I went into this store today because we had heard allegedly some Kohl's might have certain Pokémon cards for sale. After a quick search in the toy section and prompt asking towards Maria (a employee working at a desk nearby) of the whereabouts of the cards, we had come to a near conclusion that the store might not have them. As we were about to leave the section we check one last shelve because we saw some more toys and thought: "maybe they could be there?", but as we search my friend over hears Maria criminalizing us as potential thieves in Spanish nearly right in front of us assuming we didn't understand her. My friend who does speak Spanish and pretty much understood everything she said over the walkie talkie confronted her asking why she would say that and she was caught off guard and was refusing to explain herself. After that encounter we went to customer service asking for a Manager who didn't even introduce Himself, so he will remained un-named. The manager explained we were being profiled because the toy section was I guess a "hot spot" of some sort for loss product so we are to be under the impression that anyone who walks in the toy section is instantly to be kept a close eye on and reported to a manager? finally after that we left with no apology from Maria or the Manager on her behalf and left feeling very uncomfortable and annoyed.. read more

Not a huge fan of Kohl's. It seems like they jack up prices and then "discount' them to about what you would pay at any other place as a standard retail price. I don't appreciate having to open a revolving credit account for access to discounts either. The lack of size options for dress shirts means I have to dish out more money to have them tailored, which I feel is uncalled for since I am not an unusual build. The worst customer service to date at any Kohls I've shopped. I stopped in to pick up a pair of shoes I ordered on line after I checked in to say I was on my way via email which I received an email stating my shoes would be ready for pick up, once I arrived at the store I waited in line for 20 minutes just to be told their system was down, I was not happy once I left, I called the store and asked for a supervisor Alijah got on the phone and made one excuse after the other and offered nothing else but to come back the next day, ha! Do not shop at the sunset Valley location! I went there today with my daughter in a stroller and my mom who has a bad back and can hardly walk. She uses handicap parking place. We went to the handicap dressing room to find it was closed. They said u can go in this one...noT enough room for us all...then said the one over there is open...my mom couldn't walk that far. Said 3 times they couldn't open it. Called for a manger...as I am explaining this...he's walking away from me....I'm asking him to stop he did not. Not only is it ridiculous it's illegal! Sale with sales people who were clueless to where the product was and wandered in circles pretending to find it and then disappeared. Sales clerk at checkout asked if we found everything okay and when we said no, she said sorry and basically have a great day. As we're leaving, we see a box with the toaster oven we wanted when we were walking out. Seems I should just stick with my original sea and go to Walmart--yea, at least they can find their products. It's hard to write a review on a department store. There are so many things to write about.having said that, I am basing my review on the clothes and the clothes selection. I don't shop here very often. Maybe 2-4 times a year. I usually purchase a lot of clothes at once and don't have the need to go back often. I come to Kohl's for the clothes and the prices. I have not purchased anything in the home goods, shoe, or jewelry department. The place can get messy. But that is true about most department stores that attract teens. The junior section is always a mess. Nothing is in order. Clothes are placed in the wrong area, unfolded, thrown about, room in the area looks like a tornado came through. BUT....I like the selection of clothes, the prices and quality, for the most part. They are always having a sale. Plus you find coupons in the mail and your email. I am talking about the junior section here. Things are a little cheaper in this area. When you are shopping in this section, check the size on the clothes bc they never match what the size says on the hanger. You can blame the customers for this. Trying on clothes and placing them back on the wrong hangers. On to the adult section of clothes. I find nice tops and pants for work in this section. They have Simply Vera Wang ad Jennifer Lopez brands here. They are affordable and look decent for work clothes. This section is more kept up. But, you have adults who are more reasonable than teens and they put things back where they should be and don't throw things around. I always change in the dressing rooms in this section. They are cleaner, nicer and less crowded. The section for clothes is large for adult women than the juniors section and I can find more items for myself. As for the customer service, my cashier has always been friendly. I have noticed the same two ladies working here for the past two years. Both are nice and talkative and don't make you feel rushed and just try to push you out of the store. I will continue to shop here for my clothing needs in the future. One tip, go early, especially on the weekends. The store gets crowded, long lines form at the cash register and clothes get scattered all over the place. read more

We came here because we had to return something we bought online. I really liked all their sales, but their clothes can sometimes (many times) be really cheaply made. You have to search for the good ones. it's a very clean Kohls, the customer service was super quick and very nice. We ended up buying some stuff in the store and the cashiers kept their patients with other annoying customers. We did wait in line for a very very very long time, but it was the previous customers fault. Overall very happy with this Kohls. Went here the other day to look around, not intending on spending any money...ha, that never works for me. I ended up purchasing the Kuereg coffee maker, something I've been wanting for a while now. Awesome, since I love coffee, this maker is great. It went for a cool $150, the Elite, I had checked other places and the prices are pretty close the same everywhere I looked. I'm not a big fan of Kohl's in general. I find that they are crammed with too much merchandise (most of which ends up on the ground) - their lighting is bad - and walkways are too narrow. To me - their "model" for a store is awful and I avoid Kohl's like a bad accident. Oh how I long for Mervyn's!! However, I've had to enter this store a few times. Mostly to get gift cards - and RUN out!! There was one time (no - not band camp!) that I did have to get some new work jeans ... and after trying like 100 pairs on - I finally settled on about 3 new pairs. My experience was just okay. I think the changing room was a bit small and even though I went by myself - it would have been nice to have some employee or changing room attendant check on me. This is why I like to shop Nordstrom. After trying like 10 pairs of jeans on (they have limits!) - I had to get dressed and go back out and find the correct size and style - and then go back into the changing room and get undressed and try on and ... well do you see where I am going here? I tried a LOT of jeans on ... not one person came by to offer any help. I must have dressed and undressed 20+ times. I couldn't wait to get out of there with my 3 jeans! Their shoe department is always messy. I am not even sure those boxed jewelry items can be considered "jewelry". Truthfully - I don't even know why they are getting 3 stars. Kohls is not the frist store I think of when I want to go on a mini shopping spree. Unless I am going out for good deals on everything else but clothes I do not stop by. I do love some of the more vintage/upscale type dresses but I can never find any of them that fit me in the right places. BUT! The reason I am giving you 4 stars is because when you have deals...They are damn AWESOME deals! I love coming in during the Christmas season because everything is on sale. All you see is 50%, 60%, 70% off or buy one get one free! heck Yes I am coming to your store if I can get tons of jewelry for under $50 bucks. Before Christmas, I ended up shopping there for baby clothes and boy did I make a killing! I can say I bought over 30 outfits and other misc items that regularly would have cost me close to $500 bucks but I came out with only spending $175! Of course I will continue to come back shopping for items like that! You have a very easy return policy as well as a very clean store. You keep giving me awesome deals than you will have me coming back for things. read more

For quite a while, I would buy most of my clothes at Macy's, rounded out by an occasional item from the Gap or Banana Republic. I haven't found much at Macy's recently, though, so I went into Kohls for the first time. It's great. I was there much longer than I expected. It was a bit frustrating how rarely they had the colors I wanted in my size, but I am now a big fan of browsing in the store and then ordering several sizes and colors online. I returned most of the online orders at the store, and it was the quickest, cleanest returns system I have ever seen. read more

I went to this store. I was in the store for at least 2 hours. I spent almost $1000.00 on my Kohl's charge card with a 1500.00 limit. I get outside the door and there is a young lady from loss prevention. She kindly identified herself and asked me to follow her back in the store. I comply because I am confident that there is a mistake that will be quickly cleared up. Well there was a mistake, I had picked up a tube of lipstick and some costume jewelry, when I first got into the store. It was in the pouch of the Kohl's basket. I forgot about it. After being pulled in I offer to pay because it was an oversight on my part. Well I was accused of stealing but the young lady believed I had forgotten so they did not call the police, or ban me from the store. I was not allowed to pay for the items. The real mistake was I went to the wrong store to shop. I am so hurt because this was a place I enjoyed shopping at, but not after tonight! The same way she met me outside, someone could have reminded me at the register. The items were not in my bags, my purse, or my person because I had honestly forgotten. The same way I was lead to an office, I would have payed for the forgotten items and been grateful for the reminder. Instead I am now hurt beyond words, threatened to pay A judgement on top of the money I spent. This was a horrible way to end a relationship that I had no intention of walking away from. I am not a person that would ever steal and now I am scared to shop. I am at a loss for words because I feel set up! Why didn't someone come to the register if you had filmed my shopping? I usually really like Kohl's but this Kohl's has horrible customer service. It's very sparsely staffed so it's difficult to find someone to help you. Once you do however, it's usually a kid with an attitude. Or the redhead girl who gave me a horrible attitude because she didn't know how to help me and instead of apologizing, treated me horribly. Horrible. We got a gift from our mother-in-law for Christmas. We would like to return that gift without her knowing that we want to return the gift because we already have it. The only way that we can actually get our money back for this gift is to contact her and have her put it on her credit card. Even though we have the receipt. Ridiculous. If you have a receipt for something you should be able to get your money back. End of story. So now we have to contact our mother-in-law and tell her that we are returning the gift that she got us. This scheme is just retail business trying to keep the money from returns back in their store. It's wrong. If somebody spends money on you for a gift you already have you should be able to take it back and spend that money where you want. Is there a way to give -ve stars? I am so pissed to even give 1 star to this place. I had one of the worst experience in this Kohl's recently. If you are shopping or planning to go shop here, you should read this. I bought a sport jacket for my wife and went to the counter. I had a $10 off coupon that I had got by mail recently and I presented that. When the lady (lady1) behind the counter saw that she immediately said to me you cannot use this coupon again. I was confused when I heard that. I have never used a coupon at this kohls or any other kohls before. This was the first time I am using it. So I told her I am using this for the first time. And then she goes "no you have used this before. our security cameras have caught you using this before". WHAT??? I was completely appalled and enraged hearing that. I was uttering words like atrocious and ridiculous and asked how she can make an outrageous claim like that? She was answering as though I was lying, what a repugnant behavior from her, i was still in shock. Now she was making sign language with another counter lady (lady2) and apparently it was lady2 who was feeding her this crap. I demanded an apology from lady1 for her actions and she started rolling her eyes. The lady2 was mostly avoiding looking at me and I think she made a mistake by confusing me with someone else. And by now she started realizing this and turned the other way starting to service other customers. Now, lady1 understood that she has no support from her coworker, but still was unapologetic. I asked her that I see the manager, and manager came and she immediately accepted the coupon and asked lady1 to process the sale. But I still wanted an apology and none of them had any sense of remorse/decency to say sorry. I asked the manager that "are you all calling me a lier?" and if not you have to apologize for this nasty treatment. The manager said we are not calling you a lier but we also cannot call lady1/2 lier either. WHAT? how can both be true? ... at this point lady1 had no nerve to look me in the eye and talk .. and I was standing there hoping that they would express some sort of regret .. but nothing, absolutely nothig from them !!!!!!!!! I asked lady1 "well, what do u have to say?" and now she started changing her tone and saying that she was not at fault and it was lady2 that made her say those things. Anyway, I paid and left still feeling utter disgust at the way they treated me .. Now looking back, I am wondering did I do the right thing? did I let them go off easily? should I have made a scene? can I complain this to police, since this is clear case customer humiliation ... what would you have done when faced with this? My wife says I shoud not have bought the jacket and should not have left until they had apologized. I think buying the jacket was the right thing because I never did anything wrong and I had every right to buy it, but I should have persisted in my demand for apology. I am mostly an easy going guy and I try to forgive/forget and move on, but this still bugs me .. Kohls should be ashamed for having employees like this. I hope this serves as a warning for others. Restrooms are usually very dirty, pick up of internet orders is extremely inefficient. Staff is in general pretty limited and do not show initiative. Employee yelled at our disabled child (seriously who yells at a 6 years old disabled or not) and the manager would not be apologizing at all, did not bother to listen to us and excused it by saying that the cleaning clerk does not speak English. I stopped in yesterday to buy a new jacket for an upcoming interview. The lady at the register was honestly the sweetest lady ever. She asked if I was buying the jacket for an interview, asked about the position, gave me a 20% off coupon since I was a Kohl's card member and she was just overall an excellent example of what amazing custom service should be! Kohl's return policy really is as good as they advertise. I bought two large pieces of wall art in Massachusetts 10 months ago, had no receipt and one piece didn't have a upc. I brought them in to return to this location, no questions asked and they helped me find the upc for the missing piece. They gave me a store credit worth 100% of what I originally paid. Besides their everyday great prices, coupons and deals; their liberal policies and friendly attitudes always keep me coming back. read more

My experience with this place was not only terrible, but downright unprofessional. After telling the clerk that the sweater I had found in a section marked with a 70% off was suppose to be 70% off, she proceeded to tell me that it was only for select items. When I asked to speak to her manager Andrea, she told me that it was for the other side. So I told the clerk to take it off and I was gonna pay for the rest of my items. I told the manager Andrea that the sign was very misleading and that they shouldn't be falsely advertising something in the store. She proceeded to tell me I was being rude, which made me question her professionalism. Then after reminding her that it wasn't professional to tell a customer that they are being rude and throwing in their face that you would've applied the discount after I asked to not add the item to the bag, she then went on to tell me that I can never shop at that store again. She actually banned from the store, and for what, because I said the store was very misleading in its advertisement.
