I love this salon. I go to Tina and she is really great! she takes her time and is really good at what she does. I always get a mimosa (or 2) while I'm there which is great. it is by appointment only. it can be tough to get a Saturday appointment as word of great business travels fast. I'd suggest booking two weeks out. They use clean tools (I hate places that uses dirty tools) and they are not more expensive than the salons that cut corners and do rush jobs on your nails. read more

I've been going to Koi Nails since I moved to Howard County 2 years ago and I'm so glad I did. Everyone in here is super friendly & nice. I usually go to the owner, Tiffany, but I've also seen Nida. After 2PM, they offer you a mimosa or wine with a pedicure. Tiffany has become more like a friend since I've been going there and it's great to have a full conversation at the nail salon as opposed to always wondering what they are saying about you. The salon is super clean and everyone is friendly & accommodating. I typically book my appointments online which is really convenient...I definitely suggest making an appointment as they do tend to get busy. I went to Koi for a year or so and was happy with the appearance of my nails but eventually had to stop going there because I was NOT happy with my tech. Some days she was friendly and yet on most days she was hateful and very bossy. Her manicures were so painful, I stopped having them done at Koi. It just wasn't worth it to continue. read more

Came here to kill time before meeting up for happy hour and also because I was going to a wedding 2 days later. They are appointment only, but I was able to make an appointment for the same day on their website. They were super busy and all of the technicians seemed to be really interested in getting to know their customers. I got just the standard mani-pedi but I have to tell you, my manicure lasted over 2 weeks! I've had gel that didn't even last 2 weeks before. It's out of the way for me but I definitely suggest anyone who lives or works in the area to give them a shot. I knocked off 1 star because some of my nails were shaped a little oddly, but I don't care that much. read more

Best place ever! I am super superrrr picky and I am never disappointed with my gel mani or pedi. You really should make an appt because they are very busy and stay true to their allotted appt times with each customer, but occasionally I have seen walk ins come in and be taken right away or they work with them to come back at a later time that day. There have been times I had to cancel my appt because of my crazy schedule and attempted to go to one of those walk in places when I had time but each time I regret it! I have moved 45 min away but still work in Columbia and make every effort to work it my schedule so I can continue to go to koi nails. I have been to many many places all over even high end spas and have never been as satisfied as I am with their work. I usually go to Tiffany the owner, but she sometimes she is all booked by the time I can make my appt so I have been to a few of the others and they do a great job as well. read more

I went in for an acrylic fill in with gel polish. After I was finished getting my nails done, no less than two hours later did one of the nails break off. I called and told them in fell off, and went back in to get it fixed. They charged me to get it fixed which I thought was strange because it fell off in such little time. Within the next two days 2 more nails fell off. This has never happened to me before and I have been getting acrylic nails for 6 years. Extremely disappointed. read more

The shop is clean, it appears that the instruments are really sterilized and I love that you are given your files to take with you (never used on anyone else). Wow! The worst service ever. First, what kind of nail tech tells you the combination choice you made in nail polish looks like dirty water and that, you should have listened to them. I begged to differ and even the customer next to me said, she thought is looked nice. And then there was the ignorant comment made while doing my pedicure. She said, my nail was flaky and it looked like I had been sucking on my big toe. Another nail tech had to tell her that was not nice and for me to just ignore her. She made several comments despite what I said. The expression on the two customer's faces beside me said it all. Very immature, unprofessional, disrespectful and just pure IGNORANT! I've been going to these ladies for about 8 years and 3 previous locations before they got there own salon and I love them. Jenny and Tiffany are the best at it and the customer comes first all the time! Now that they have their own spot my experience has gotten that much better. I made pink gel nails .For a reason the gel color looked black under the sunlight...When I called them and said that my manicure looked weird in sunlight and that I m not very happy if I can come back to fix it and that I m doing my nails for 13 years with gel and that most probably their product was defected ,they told me to come in they fixed 3 of my 10 nails only again with the same gel color bottle and they looked at me like I was an alien....After that I scheduled 3 future Saturday appointments (me+family members)with them for my anniversary and they called me last minute to cancel everything and they told me that They cannot accept me as a customer because my expectations are way to high than they can provide!!! So as I take it it's too sad that 1)they cannot accept their mistakes (defected products)in their business 2)they don't want the customers to return if they re not happy or if something is wrong with their nails cause they re loosing money by fixing their mistakes!!!!!and3)too sad we are neighbors and I have to tell all my friends about my experience with them.. read more

One of the older lady nail technician cut the side of my toe nails too deep. I felt pain and said ouch! and and saw both side of my toe bleeding. so I looked at her and she smiled and said "I cut it too deep." like its nothing. Its been a week and I have a painful infection on those toes. I'm never going back here again. read more

I've heard of very good things and was recommended by my close friend to go. My sisters and I (3) booked at the same time and my sisters had an enjoyable time. I on the other hand did not. I don't usually like to write reviews, but I have to for this one. I saw Mary. I came in, and I was greeted by the receptionist (very nice). This was my first mani+pedi experience, so I was clueless. I guess it was my fault that I did not know what I wanted? Mary was very impatient that I was indecisive. Once I sat down for my pedi, no greet no talk, just complaint that I wore long pants, so she put the hot towel on my foot. However, it was super hot and she did not even tell me beforehand that it was going to be hot. I told her it was too hot, and she did not even say sorry. She never asked if the water was too hot or cold. I noticed that my sisters were asked and told all of this. After then, I said I wanted to change my color and she seemed mad because she kept bringing weird colors (hot neon pink when I wanted pastel pink) and saying it looks pretty and that I should go along with it. She did not bother to listen to me, so I got up at the end of my pedi to go get a new color. She was really mad by this point. This is the worst part, before starting my mani, she told me to pay now. I was confused because I haven't finished my services yet. Then she repeated "pay me now" and I said, "now?" I was confused because none of my sisters had paid and I was the only one there at the point who was paying before my service was even done. So I paid her in the middle of my unfinished service. Then she continued with my mani and told me to go wash my hands. Obviously being my first time there, I did not know where to go and then she pointed to the back. After I came back, my sister told me that Mary shook her head at me while I was gone. I was shocked. I did not even want to finish the service because I felt like I wanted to cry. I DID NOT COME TO A NAIL SALON TO GET THIS KIND OF TREATMENT. This was a date with my sisters before her wedding day, and I felt sick of this place. My sister and I told the owner, Tiffany, and then left. My sisters enjoyed their service, but they were angry as well because of the treatment I received from Mary. I would recommend this place, BUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH MARY WAS THE WORST. She did not try to listen to me, she complained to me, and she was rude. read more

I normally don't contribute to review sites. However, after my wonderful experience at Koi Nails I felt I had to share. I arrived at their shop very shortly after their 9:30am opening time on 06/28/13. I was given a very friendly greeting and when I inquired about getting a pedicure although I didn't have a scheduled appointment I was told someone could take me if I could wait about 10-15 minutes. This wait did not seem unreasonable as there were already three clients in chairs happily having services performed. It was obvious from the conversations going on between clients and employees that the three people in chairs were regulars to this establishment. After about 8 minutes I was led back to a chair, offered a beverage, and Tiffany began working on my feet. She did an absolute wonderful job of transforming what had been hobbit feet into something that would look pretty in a pair of sandals! (5 days later my pedicure looks like I just had it done. No chipping, no marks etc.!) This shop was incredibly clean and it is apparent that maintaining healthy standards are very important. It also seemed to me that the people working at this location truly want their customers to be happy with their work. I don't live super close to this nail salon but I am more than happy to spend the time and gas to patronize it. The cleanliness of the salon, the work performed by the employees, their pleasant and professional attitudes, and the overall environment of Koi Nails makes this nail salon hands and feet above the rest! read more

The staff was very friendly and treated us so well. I'm recovering from a cold and Tina brought me water and cough drops. They did a beautiful job on our nails and made us feel pampered and special. Cute little nail salon. The receptionist could of been a little more receptive to new comers. I could see how interactive and pleasant she was to the regulars. The pedicure I received was pretty good nothing really to rave about. They use the "cheese grater" like utensil which I am not really a fan of. But they do use cuticle cutters that are in sanitation packs. Vicki P. did my pedicure and did cut my toe nails down way to far for my liking which I didnt notice until after I left. If I go back and get booked with her I will definitely watch how short she going. I did really like the fact that they provide you with cold water on arrival (Vicki wound up asking me if I wanted wine; something I saw the receptionist asking the regulars). I also like the fact that the whole staff speaks in English. You never realize how much you don't like being able to understand the conversations around you, even if you are not involved. They do adhere to their appointments which they time perfectly so make sure you SCHEDULE your appointment ahead of time. Overall this salon is a nice salon. I always come here, but one staff member ruined it for me. Everyone is friendly, and they do an amazing job at nails. But do not, DO not book with Tina. She is so rude, I'm not sure if it was just with me but she never once smiled, she even cut my by accident( it's ok it happens, but at least acknowledge it). After I tipped her and after she was done the polish she told me "don't mess it up I don't have time). I come here every two weeks, I never once messed up my nails for her to say it so rudely to me. I took my daughter here after her 5th grade graduation. The pedicure was a nice experience with the mimosa and massage chair, and our toenails look great. I wasn't able to finish the manicure b/c I ran out of time w/ picking nail colors. Because I was disappointed about not getting the manicure, they asked me to go back to let them fix my nails. LOVE coming here- I've only ever seen Tina, but she is excellent and always does a great job & exactly what I wanted. In my experience (also maybe because I only see Tina) but you have to make an appointment ahead of time. Depending on what time of day you are after, I felt her evenings booked fast but often had spaces during day. I try to book about 2-3 days ahead and haven't had any issues. Their website has a great tool that allows you To schedule appointments online. Very modern, professional and clean salon. Love acrylic fills with Tina and the occasional pedicure. OMG! Horrible! Terrible! Disaster! I don't know how all these people gave this place five star reviews. This place is horrible. This place only deserve one star. It was my first time to this place. My friend preferred me to this place. So,we went here together for a pedicure and a gel manicure. I had a very bad experience for my service. I feel like the technician was rushing on my pedicure. I feel like I've been cheated. After I got home, I still see tiny cuticles on my two big toes, which was, unprofessional cut and clean. My heel still feel rough with calluses on my heel, which was, didn't do a good job removing my calluses. My gel color started to chip within five days after I got it done. I had gel manicure before and they suppose to last for at least two weeks. Bad experienced. Worst pedicure ever! and cheap gel color. I will never go back to this place ever again. One of the worst nails salon in Elliott City. I'm starting to search for a new place myself. read more
