This my boyfriend and my go-to spot for AYCE sushi and it always gets the job done. They are always flexible with tables for 3 to 12 whenever we come in. They are overall efficient with their service and come out with different kinds of presentations for their sushi whether it's on a beautiful plate or boat! The fruit drinks are a must try and the birds nest is always our favorite! Pricing is reasonable for dinner at $32.99.

I've been coming here for the past few years and have found that the quality has fluctuated but the most recent time I came, it was good! The fish was fresh and the rice wasn't soggy. My go to's are always salmon and eel nigiri. The pepper tuna or salmon wasn't my favorite but that's ok. They also recently added noodles to their AYCE menu that I didn't try but they look promising. Everything came out pretty quick and service is always great. Their drinks are also really good too so don't skip on those. $32.99 for AYCE dinner is a really good deal, so I would recommend this for anyone looking for AYCE in Chicago.

They've upgraded to ordering on a tablet at each table! Waiting time has decreased due to this. They removed the ice cream off the menu. Now there's a self serve ice cream machine closer to the bathroom/bigger dining room for both all you can eat and a la carte customers. Still my favorite AYCE sushi place in the city.

This is my favorite spot for AYCE sushi in the city! The price is great and fish quality has always been good. Make sure you come hungry, as there is an extensive menu and lots to pick from on the AYCE menu. It seems like a silly detail, but we've always gotten a kick out of the dry ice addition with the plating. It adds a special touch and makes the vibe fun! It can be busy, so expect a wait time on weekends. The employees have always been kind and attentive.

Good enough. For some reason I stopped craving sushi much faster at this place than any other AYCE sushi I have been to. Probably because I usually pregame sushi with standard tempura and the tempuras on this particular day was hehe oopsies raw. Maybe the smoke was there for me to cook the tempuras on more. The quality of the sushi is standard.

I was pretty disappointed with this place. I had seen videos of their sister restaurant and the fish looked super fresh. The fish was not very fresh here, at least for the nigiri. Definitely order your sushi in hand roll form, the fish they use for their hand rolls is a much better cut and way more fresh. The fish on their nigiri and in their cut rolls are dry and not good. You can tell by the color of them in these pictures. I was a huge fan of the clear soup, so much flavor. The sesame balls were also really good and the perfect size

Great AYCE sushi spot! The nigiri, rolls, and sashimi are all very good. As for the cooked food, stay with the seafood items and not the chicken. The fried fish, seaweed salad, and sashimi salad were all good. I enjoyed the mochi dessert and ice cream selection. It's easy to make a reservation thru Google and service was ace.

Everything at Koi Sushi was amazing! The best AYCE with affordable prices! The drinks were also delicious and the staff super helpful and attentive. The ambiance was incredible as well. Definitely highly recommend!

Sushi is always amazing here! Great for AYCE! I love coming back to Koi every once in awhile. Sushi is fresh. The tuna has a nice deep red color to eat so I know they don't purchase the pinky colored tuna that is older. Lots of great drinks to choose from. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the miso soup. It was bland and kind of fishy??? It was strange. Otherwise there are great appetizers here to enjoy. Service is always great here. Workers are very kind and hard working to make sure you have a good experience.

Food: 10/10 My group of 5 did ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT SUSHI at this place during lunch time, because it's only $22.99 per person until 3pm from Monday-Friday. We got this little pink slip where we marked the appetizers and sushi we wanted to order. The shrimp tempura was very crispy and the sauce went well with it. The takoyaki was okay, it needed more sauce and bonito flakes. The shrimp siumai was warm and soft. The sesame balls were crunchy, soft, and these had a lot of red bean filling compared to other restaurants! The sushi was absolutely delicious. I love how each plate came with its own decoration of a container with dry ice. The salmon nigiri was huge, and tasted so fresh. The eel nigiri had the nice unagi flavor and they did not hold back with their fish portions. Overall would come back here with the whole family! We had 3 rounds of sushi! Service: 10/10 There were at least 5 or 6 different varieties of sushi on our plate for each order, so I was surprised that it only took 5-10 minutes for each order to arrive to our table! Ambiance: 10/10 The restaurant was very floral-Japanese themed. There was even a moving Donald Duck animatronic! I found it cool how they put the menus inside the glass compartment of the table so that they didn't have to hand out the menus anymore.

We love coming here when we're in the mood for sushi. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food. Every time we visit, we have an amazing experience. The restaurant is very spacious, and the staff is quite friendly. I definitely recommend this place and plan to come back!

Obviously we go to all you can eat sushi to eat an unreasonable amount of sushi for a decent price. Koi is no exception. Where I think Koi stands out is their nigiri. Koi's nigiri is the freshest I've found at an all you can eat restaurant and why I've returned so many times. It also helps that the sushi rolls are fabulous too. Roll favorites include MVP, Amazing Tuna, and New Moon. As for nigiri, I haven't found one I don't like. Definitely get a lychee martini if you're in the mood to drink! Enjoy these photos throughout the years of my sushi orders (I promise I was not alone).

Currently on the hunt for the best AYCE sushi in Chicago and decided to check out this place - tldr: not the best but I've also had worse. Maybe come for lunch instead of dinner! My group of 3 and I came around 5pm on a Sunday - it wasn't too busy. There's plenty of street parking - I think the spots along Koi Sushi on Southport Ave might be free, but we did paid parking along Clybourn. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was bigger than I expected! They also have a bar with what seems like an extensive drink menu. Their AYCE menu was a lot smaller than I expected. The apps selection was ok! We got edamame, fried calamari, soft shell crab, crab rangoon and the baked mussels. They were all average - I think other spots I've been to seem to have more app selection and were more enjoyable. Sushi-wise, their sushi rolls seem good and the rice balance was good for the rolls. The nigiri selection was expansive but was a little rice-heavy - the fish was good! The sushi is presented so well and they like to use a lot of dry ice for it all! The one thing I will mention for this place is their sashimi. It is fairly large but you get 3 pieces per 1 roll that is ordered. I don't eat a lot of sushi rolls so not sure how big of a win this is.

Ask the Community - Koi Sushi

    Is there a corkage fee?

There is now as they have gotten their liquor license, $2 for beer bottle or $10 for a case. There is a different one for wine but not sure what it is.

Is there a parking garage or street parking?

Street parking, we did not have a problem

Do you still offer AYCE and BYOB?

Yes! We have AYCE and BYOB all the time.

I guess I am a little confused, a review says you can do all you can eat and byob, which sounds like you can dine in. Can you tell me if this is currently possible?

yes!Dine in is available. Only open a few table. Better call before you come.

I got the salmon bowl, the salmon avocado maki, and tuna crispy rice. The salmon bowl was definitely my favorite. The salmon was cooked very nicely so that it wasn't dry, and I loved the miso glaze that they put on top. It added a very nice sweetness to the salmon and created a very nice char. It was pretty small portion size though. The salmon avocado maki was solid too. It was the most filling! You get 5 pieces :) The tuna crispy rice was just alright. The rice part was good, but there was a bit too much mayo in the tuna. The miso soup that came complimentary with it was good too! I like how generous they were with the seaweed. Such a nice vibe inside! It's definitely a nicer spot, but still casual enough for lunch. I wanna come back for dinner! Service was quick and server was kind.

I ended up calling the Printer's Row location and had the team talk to the manager at the Chinatown location, and the manager at the Chinatown location kept their stance that it does not work, stating Printer's Row location does not know why the gift card does not work at the Chinatown location, and will not make any exceptions to accepting the gift card. Thankfully at the Printer's Row location, they are stating it's due to their system being new as they are a new location, and reason why the gift card is not working at all the locations yet which they are now working on to fix so it does not happen to any other customer moving forward. I just wish the Chinatown location showed some compassion to address the issue and still accommodate the inconvenience instead of us having to go back to the Printer's Row location to use the gift card Price: Approximately $20, not including tip for 2 people. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent.
