The rotary belt and some art decorating the back wall. That purple wall changes color avery few minutes.
    Rich S.

We went to Sushi Plus Rotary Sushi Bar, across from Chicago's Chinatown Square Plaza, for their great sushi, and for their fun "rotary" conveyor-belt food-delivery to the tables! The room is bright, with some modern and playful décor and some lovely scenes of Japan. There is also a small shop of trinkets and gifts. We were a group of seven, and we arrived shortly after 11:30am on a Monday to get their one large table that can set up to nine or so. Their many smaller filled up quickly. A wide variety of dishes are sent around the room on the "rotary" conveyor belt, with color-coded plates and signs indication the price, between $3.60 and $7.50 per plate (Feb 2026). You can also "special order" a dish using an electronic tablet, and a single-car train delivers it to your table! We were greeted with wet hand-towels in sealed individual packages, chopsticks, thermoses of self-service hot tea and ceramic handle-less cups, individual packets of horseradish paste, and bottle of richly-flavored tamari soy sauce with ceramic serving bowls. We first took plates of ginger slices to share. I like to dab a little horseradish on sashimi slices, nigiri slabs, sushi rolls. Or separately, i dip the fish side of those in tamari. We selected many main dishes! Tender sashimi slices of bright orange-pink raw salmon, Cold individual cooked shrimp ebi nigiri laid on rice slabs, slabs of scrambled-egg bound by a nori-seaweed belt as nigiri over rice slabs, silver-skinned saba marinated mackerel fish nigiri, at least three varieties of plain or spicy sake scottish salmon sushi rolls of seaweed around veggies and rice, tender sliced boiled-octopus tako nigiri, salty burst-y pink roe in nori cylinders, tender thin-wrapped lightly-spicy seasoned pork dumplings, pink smoked-salmon nigiri, a lemon-mandarin yuzu-sauced baby-octopus cucumber salad-bowl with white sesame, lovely super-white buttery escolar tuna nigiri, chewy pink semi-sweet difuku red-bean pounded-rice bites. Everything was fresh and delicious. The prices were reasonable, and you can easily fit your budget. We were well-taken-care-of by their attentive welcoming staff. And the rotary food-service belt is added fun :-). We highly recommend this dining experience.

It's not all you can eat But they have creative and inventive rolls and food. Nigiri was good quality and tasted good w the flavoring. Price was average with mid range sushi prices. The rotary is fun and you pick the color plate and you pay according to the color. Ginger in 1 oz containers are free. Clean, modern, hip decor. Lots of K-pop music and fun beats with hip hop too. Good dessert! Tayaki, Daifuku (mochi w red bean inside), crème brûlée, cheesecake, and the best thing ever that ever came from Hawaii! Dole Whip which is like soft Italian ice (not dairy ice cream) in pineapple and strawberry flavors. It is soooo good and comes in a cone for $2.59 each. Don't miss it bc unless you buy it for $6 at a hard to find grocery store or go to Hawaii, you can eat it here. Salad is only $3 w great ginger sauce on the side

This was a pretty good experience, I just don't desire to do it again. Hey over time I've began to like sushi less. I'm over sticky fish smelling rice, and to be honest I hate avocados. But hey came for a birthday celebration and it was so cute inside. While everyone smashed the rotary bar, trying all sorts of sushi, I kept it cute and went for what I know. They had an additional option that you could order at the table from. I ordered a seafood ramen, shrimp tempura and gyoza. Topped it off was a (here we go again) premixed margarita. The way the waiter came back in seconds gave it away. This margarita isn't made fresh. I stomached it down with a frown on my face. & did not order another one.

Sushi bars are not new but they appear to be making a huge impact on the patrons of sushi. The revolving bar sends endless amounts of sushi. And not just one type. But numerous flavors. The sushi is fresh. And I have noticed that sometimes the plates disappear and they don't come back. Which means the staff gets rid of old sushi that was chose. That's a great thing. And much appreciated.

Delicious spot where sushi pieces are cut thick and rice is almost more than half of the portion. Food comes quick on a Friday lunch time and there was practically no one. I will say, the prices are very expensive and you can choose different plates for cheaper options. But up to you!

I just LOVE a fun dining experience. This is a culinary experience!! You get to either order from an iPad in which your food is delivered through a cute train, or grab food off the rotating conveyer belt. A nice way to try a variety of rolls without having to commit to the bit. The surf and turf roll acrually blew my mind with the tender fatty beef combined with the imitation crab inside, and the sashimi quality was pretty good! Salmon was great, and a generous portion of scallop sashimi. This place is busy, and turnover isn't that high, so do expect a line!! We went on a Saturday night and waited 45 min for a table of two. They gave us an estimate of an hour, but you do get to walk outside while they "call you back".

This spot used to be our go-to affordable quick fix sushi eats spot, but the menu has downsized, no longer having a lot of our favorites like ebi, oyster shooters, and this uni scallop ikura bowl. The quality is still decent for price. If you're looking strictly for sushi rolls and fast service, this is still a good options.

Super tasty makis. Can get busy but we went weekday lunch and got seated right away. Service is great. Our server kept checking on us to see if there's anything we need that is not in the rotary. If you're not into sushi, they have à la carte ramen and fried chicken apps/fries for kids!

I did a takeout order from sushi +. The sushi was really good and the price was good too! I walked in & placed my to go order right away. Everyone was super helpful and friendly! This place looks like so much fun! It's bright and happy & has a revolving sushi belt that you can get sushi from. My to go order was up fast! I waited less than 10 mins & the sushi was so fresh and tasty! I really appreciated the cute (insulated!) to go bag with the Chicago skyline on it! This is the neatest place & I really enjoyed my sushi from here!

My go to sushi place when in China town if I'm in the mood. Delicious, affordable, and love the touch of technology used to bring out the dishes. I never get the premade plates that roll around as I like to get mine fresh (or so I think it's fresh ahaha). This was my first time getting a drink and it didn't hit the way I like nor did it for my friend but that's okay cause food was the priority. They give you a punch card when you visit allowing you to get money off once you get enough. Very friendly & welcoming environment!

Our favorite sushi place out here in the burbs is a rotating sushi bar; we are always looking for a new favorite so we thought we would check out Sushi Plus Rotary in Chinatown whilst on a little weekend getaway. We were told the wait would be about 25 minutes on a Saturday night at 6:30-ish... try about an hour and 25 minutes. We waited so long, we saw families going in the restaurant next door and leaving happy with full bellies. The food was ... well, meh. Service was okay. I would probably give this place three stars but it gets an extra star for the adorable train thingy and the cutest darn teapot I have ever seen. I was just back in Chinatown a couple weeks ago and I am kicking myself for not going in there and buying one. I recently saw that the extended version of this restaurant has hot pot AND sushi. I am sure we will be back sometime this year to try it.

The decor in here was nice and the dessert and cocktail menus were SO CUTE! I tried the 10 Hour Tonkotsu ramen, the xoxo shrimp and pork dumplings, and the spicy kimchi. The kimchi and dumpling combination was to die for!!! It had the perfect balance of flavor and spice. The dumplings were so crispy and juicy, and the kimchi was packed with lots of flavor. 10000/10 The ramen on the other hand, was just okay in my opinion. I asked if they could make it a bit spicy and the waiter said that the only way to add spicy was to order the sesame chili. I ordered that and mixed it into my ramen but it was still missing something, not quite sure what. I'd rate the ramen a 8/10. Nothing crazy but not bad. Overall would stop by again (if im in the area) to try other items on their menu. 9/10

For the main attraction I ordered the spicy garlic ramen that was such a delightful mouth experience it really hit all the taste buds! The noodles were perfectly bouncy with the right amount of chew. The jellied egg was perfect and rounded the soup very well! The red chili threads enhanced the spicy miso broth just enough to slurp all the delicious goodness down! I was seated at a table and they brought out water right away. But that's where the service stopped. I was handed 3 menus... food, drinks, cocktail. It took forever to get one of the servers to come over and take my order. They were all huddled by the kitchen and hostess stand chatting with each other and on their cell phones. Finally one of them walked by my table and I had to get her attention and told her I would like to order. She brought out the iPad then looked around seeing if someone else should probably take the order. I felt I inconvenienced her. Got the tonkatsu shoyu ramen with black garlic and the takoyaki. Food came out fast. Takoyaki after the ramen but the takoyaki was delicious. Soft and creamy on the inside with the octopus was very tender. It was topped with plenty of katsuoboshi. Ramen was another story. Noodles had a really good chew as they advertised using sun noodle company. However the broth tasted very watered down and did not have the rich flavor and usually fat globules that make the soup. Cha siu was charred beautifully and portion size was good. Hopefully they can focus on the front of house service and the team can pay attention to customers. Maybe this is why there were only 6 customers at prime dinner time.

In no way had my body rested. Donned in dawn, my underwear-pajamas slightly slid down revealed a sad vision of man, sloppily tangled in ruffled sheets. Exposed. There is nothing pretty about me, I thought, as I pondered if the sunlight were judging what it saw. Before reaching my current perch on the living room couch, I sat in bed flicking through news in search of something good, but simultaneously only pausing on the bad. Glorifying in the doom, really. It was the pinch I needed to prove I was indeed awake. All day I seek the pinch of pain to prove I am not dreaming. Coffee, cats, clothes, splashof water, and 20 steps later I find myself in the planning pose, here in the living room. The planning pose is very much like the wake-startle, sans the sheets and exposed crack. It involves me laying here on the couch actually reading the articles I perused earlier. I like to rationalize that the information gleaned is to set me up for a day of human interaction. Perhaps it is a study session to get up to human-social-speed. Right now it is dawning on me -- my second uninvited dawn of the day -- that perhaps behavior isn't responsible humanity, it is prolonged self torment. The tighter pinch. The proverbial purple nurple of challenging my awakened state. Cats gather around me. One at my feet and the other curled beside my thigh. Am I king to them? They are fed. Surely they are not here in need of something. Have I done something to warrant this attention? My affection toward them is inconsistent. It ebbs in startling fits of overly attentive playing or petting followed by long droughts of disregard. My ambivalence as their king gives me this luxury, and supports my theory that they may think I am indeed king. This is the type of cyclical example loop I am using as evidence to propel me from the underwear'ed fat man the sun observed moments ago. Evidence that says: "See, Sun, I am more than the larva you spotlighted. I am a god! The cats are evidence! And they sleep in your sun-puddles in undisputed, recognizable perfection, not the ugly crack-exposed heap you found me in. You love them. They love me. So, pinch yourself, and stop judging me!" Obviously the coffee is working, or maybe the cats are doing their trick: making me feel accepted in the universe. Whatever the case may be, I pet my cat. Dander floats into the sun's beams and crystallizes in the air. If you've ever seen dust in a thinly sliced light beam at dawn you know: Hope is the accidental luck of shadows bouncing off of the chaos but always cutting through. Always meeting a surface. Penetrating the thickest of atmospheres and colliding on flowers and alleys, on well planned solar panels, on potholes, through any crack, on my crack, projecting obtuse triangles, acute bi-angles, and isosceles quad-tangles, even while penetrating deep into the sea, revealing all the magnificent details of art, and occasionally falling on me. Trees bend to it. I give the cat closest a good scratch behind the ear and look out the window at the trees greening in spring. A dog walker pauses to pick up excrement. A squirrel cowers behind a branch. The ramen restaurant on the corner is cut through by light warming empty tables; tables preparing to slurp up hungry, hopeful lunchers into the belly of contentment. Dark, seemingly an antagonist to light's hero demeanor, sheepishly slinks away, humbly realizing it is not the opposite of light, but the absence. "Beautiful," I think as I see the spicy broth of life warming in the sun glow beyond the glass. Yes. It is beautiful. It really is. I couldn't see how much in the dark but the rhythm out the window is now clear. I turn to my cat, who is winding down a purr. We share a slow-blink gaze at one another as the last sliver of dawn is replaced with shadow in my house. He moves to the window sill to soak in every second as it departs. "Welp, buddy. Nothing left now. Time to bend to the light"
