This was my first time visiting a rotary sushi restaurant. It has been a bucket-list item for me for a while and I finally made it out to STR Sushi Taku Rotary! I have been to the Sushi Taku restaurant on Division countless times. I went with friends and did all-you-can-eat. My favorite item we had was the salmon and yellowtail carpaccio which we ordered separately off of the menu. It was flavorful and tasted fresh. It can be a little hard to remember all of what I ate since our group was grabbing plates based on how it looked instead of just the name. The Philadelphia roll tasted great. There were 1-2 tempura rolls which were okay. The sauce used on the octopus balls was amazing! I wish I could put that sauce on everything! It was so savory with some umami flavor as well. The creme brulee was okay, I wouldn't try it again. I think it could have had more flavor and-/or sweetness. The mochi as always was great. The coconut ice cream was a surprise in how great it tasted!

My first all you can eat rotary sushi experience was fun and delicious. Very happy with the service, being my first time I had many questions, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the setting is hip, modern, and organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I loved this! Thank you!!

This was probably the nicest rotary sushi that I have been to. Also, not only is it rotary sushi, it's all you can eat! We came around 215 and were told the kitchen closed at 245 due to lunch service ending. The rotary was consistently stocked with lots of options. Part of their all you can eat is being able to order off the menu as well. I ordered one roll off this menu. Service was friendly. I enjoyed. If I lived closer , they do have a rewards program.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Such a cool concept with the rotary sushi. We came at 4:30 when they opened & tried the $37 all you can eat. What a great value. You can place an order on the iPad or grab whatever you want as it goes by on the winding rotary conveyor. We tried so many items. My favorite was the dragon roll. The tofu skin was delicious too. We ordered the raspberry gelato, strawberry mochi, green tea cheesecake to share. I loved the desserts so much. That green tea cheesecake is a must get. The service is great, servers brought out food that you ordered or an adorable robot did. Cute, clean place with modern decor. The restrooms were individual & tiny. The hand dryer didn't work & there weren't any paper towels. But, everything else was awesome here.

We love this place! All you can eat and conveyor belt sushi makes a fun combo. The sushi comes around on the belt and you can easily grab off. In addition, they have an ipad at your table which you can order apps and sushi from. For apps, we like the shumai, crab rangoon and potstickers. They have so much on their menu, even ramen! They have many booths, good for groups of 2 to 4. There is a row of booths that fit 6 people. It is always pretty busy when we are there, arrived at 12 on a weekend right when it opened and it was almost full by the time that we left.

    Ann S.

Incredible! We had a great time and great eats! There were 5 of us and we fit perfectly at one of the large booths. The aesthetic is modern hubbub. It's popular, and there was a line out the door when we left, but we got there early enough we were seated promptly. The all-you-can-eat deal worked great for us. The sushi rotary had all the classics, ensuring everyone was able to choose their favorites, plus we ordered a few things off the tablets. Our server explained the set up, delivered our drinks and generally stopped in to make sure we were happy. Our empty plates were cleared promptly, making room for delicious additions. Nest DePaul campus; We used public transit but otherwise street parking.

I was in the neighborhood for a weeknight yoga class and dropped in for a quick meal. I love the Sushi Taku in Logan Square, and I'm a big fan of conveyor-style sushi in general, so I came in with high hopes. Unfortunately, it just didn't hit for me. Dinner was $39, which felt higher than expected, especially since the menu seemed more or less the same as the regular Sushi Taku -- or if there were differences, they weren't noticeable enough to stand out. The quality was the same too, just coming around on a conveyor belt... but at a higher price point. For me, the value just wasn't there to go out of my way for this location. I'll stick to the classic Sushi Taku experience.

Never had a dining experience like this before and I walk away with mixed feelings. I like the concept of having all decisions at your fingertips (we dined A La Carte) through selecting and ordering food at will through the tablet on our table. I missed the human aspect a bit with wanting a waiter to check in on us and see if we needed other drinks / ask how the food was. It's great if you want to be locked into a conversation with someone, as just a robot will interrupt when food is delivered. Went here with a girlfriend for a casual dinner. Expect a wait! Wasn't bad at all, but I came on a Wednesday night and we waited for about 10 minutes for a table. I liked the options of either all you can eat OR a la carte. They have something for everyone to order outside of sushi. The rolls were very tasty but frustrating at times as a few of them fell apart.

    Amy D.

STAY STRONG and ignore the distractions like truffle fries and ramen! They're designed to lure you away from the main mission: inhaling as much sushi as humanly possible. I was stunned to see carpaccio on the menu too. It was amazing! All of the ambience, service technology and breadth of options made this experiences totally worth it. Will definitely be back! -AD

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was kind. Even better food. Prices are also good. I loved the salmon carpaccio, salmon avocado sushi along with dragon sushi. Ps- I also tried the green tea mochi which was yummier than mango

Average sushi- not the best but also not terrible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty packed for a Wednesday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a huge piece of fish tissue(?) in the tuna that made it hard to chew, I had to spit it out.

I'll say this right now... this is probably my favorite AYCE sushi spot! I already love the sushi taku chain, and I was so excited to try their rotary option. The food is fresh as always, and they have so many items to choose from. Our favorite is the fried fish and any of the seared sushi pieces! It makes me so happy that you could order nigiri by the piece; it makes it so much more worth it to try and gives you the opportunity to try everything. The service was pretty good for it being very packed. They brought out the food quick, and they always refilled our waters whenever they noticed. Additionally, they removed a lot of our empty plates whenever we were finished. The ambiance is beautiful there, and it feels like you're eating at fine dining with the decor and quality of food. The neon koi fish on the wall is to die for as well!

This was my first conveyor belt sushi experience, and it was fantastic! So many great options on the belt, plus more choices available through the table's digital pad. An all you can eat menu makes it easy to have your favorites while sampling a variety of other offerings. The interior offers roomy booths and creative overhead lighting, service is friendly and prompt, and the spacious interior makes it great for families.

It clearly is for all their locations. Unfortunately, here at Chinatown's location, when they attempted to scan the card, the staff said it does not work and only works at the Printer's Row location. I ended up calling the Printer's Row location and had the team talk to the manager at the Chinatown location, and the manager at the Chinatown location kept their stance that it does not work, stating Printer's Row location does not know why the gift card does not work at the Chinatown location, and will not make any exceptions to accepting the gift card. Thankfully at the Printer's Row location, they are stating it's due to their system being new as they are a new location, and reason why the gift card is not working at all the locations yet which they are now working on to fix so it does not happen to any other customer moving forward. I just wish the Chinatown location showed some compassion to address the issue and still accommodate the inconvenience instead of us having to go back to the Printer's Row location to use the gift card Price: Approximately $20, not including tip for 2 people. There are lunch specials! Ambience: Indoor Seating Overall: Worst experience, especially to follow up my birthday celebration

We've done it all, Ramen-San, Hi-Five Ramen, Kyuramen x TBaar, and Akahoshi Ramen. Now Mammoth Poke and Ramen was on our target list. I've heard good things about Mammoth from friends and we're here now. This spot is a bit different from all the other ramen joints as it serves poke as well but I like it. It's different. We get up and order and tell them we want to get the spicy garlic edamame and spicy garlic ramen. If you are a garlic lover like we are, then this is the spot for you! We place our order and sit outside as it was such a beautiful summer day. Service was quick and fast. +1 star for that. We first start out with the spicy garlic edamame and it's got a great chili kick and crunchy garlic flavor. Very good app. Highly recommended. I consider us ramen sluts. We love ramen and will travel near and far for it. Just get it into our bodies. I break my ramen review into four separate parts, first, I start with the broth. If you don't have good broth then you don't have good ramen. It's one of the most important parts to a bowl of yummy ramen. And Mommoth Ramen does not disappoint. The flavor profile is full of deep rich flavor with that spicy garlic. *Ooooffff* It's so good. Bravo! Next up are the noodles and they are good. Bouncy texture with a bit of chewiness. Yummmy. Then comes the protein, the chasu and my wife said it was too tender for her liking. It was basically falling apart picking it up with chopsticks. To her it was like eating fat which she doesn't like but for me, I could drink my chasu. Make it tender and delicious. I loved it and enjoyed it. Last were the toppings like the eggs, green onions, sea-weed and bamboo pieces. All were good. It was a damn good bowl of ramen and like I previously stated if you love garlic then this is the bowl and app for you. I'm glad we tried it and every ramen joint has their own unique spin. Congrats Mammoth Poke and Ramen, you guys deliver a damn good bowl of noodle soup and earned your 5 star Yelp review. Keep up the great job and we'll be back!
