Miru has a gorgeous view. It is located at the top of the The St. Regis Chicago, and the scenery alone makes it worth visiting. It is a great spot for tourists, especially if you are staying at the hotel. We walked in around 4pm on a Tuesday and had no wait at all. It was pretty empty at that time. The sunset views are stunning and it is such a beautiful place to take photos. That was definitely the highlight. As for the food, the sushi was just okay. The fish cuts were on the smaller side and the ingredients did not taste particularly high quality, so it felt a bit underwhelming. Service was fine. Nothing amazing, but not bad either. Overall, I would come back for the view and vibes, but not necessarily for the sushi itself.

Miru is located on the 11th floor inside of the St. Regis hotel in downtown Chicago. I went the Friday before Valentine's Day with my boyfriend to celebrate. We had reservations for 4:30pm, but they wanted to accommodate our request for a window seat so our table wouldn't be ready until 5pm, which was perfect. We each got a cocktail at the bar while we waited for our seat. We ordered the golden hour and the campari-san. The view is stunning and everything was so delicious. The dishes are small, so it's perfect for sharing a variety of different items. We ordered the edamame, broccolini, A5 wagyu nigiri, hamachi, chicken karaage, smoked pork belly skewer, wild mushroom sizzling rice, and duck yakisoba. The pork belly is so soft it literally melts in your mouth. I also loved the broccolini. For dessert, we got the black sesame mochi, and all the flavors and textures worked perfectly together. If you're looking for an elegant restaurant with beautiful views, friendly staff, and amazing modern Japanese food, I highly suggest Miru.

Ambiance, food, service, everything was fantastic! It indeed is a high end restaurant but worth the hype! As a vegetarian I had plenty of options and was a great experience! I have added the photos of all the dishes I liked and would recommend! I got the mushroom rice and they prepped it right by the table so another great experience!

Came here for restaurant week with a group of friends. Parking through spothero is the way to go, but the lot is a little difficult to find. For the restaurant week menu, we got to make our own hand rolls which was probably my favorite part. The welcome sip was a nice fruity touch. The miso cod was a very small portion, not sure if the regular meal had a larger portion but the restaurant week portion was a small square. The steak was more filling and the dipping sauce went really well with the meat. The mushroom rice was a little watery and underwhelming for me. The yakisoba smelled really good but flavor wise was lacking. The dessert reminded me of a mango sticky rice, but rice pudding version. Food was decent but not super mind blowing. It was $60 for a 4 course meal which was a great deal, but not super filling. The atmosphere is really great for a fancy get together or date night. The St Regis is beautiful and the restaurant itself had lovely blueish green tiles. Bathrooms were clean and spacious.

Sadly I'd have to give this restaurant a 3 stars for its pancake and view only. My friend was racing about this place so much I was very excited to try but it was quiet a disappointment. First, the rice on the maki is hard and not exactly sushi rice. The fish isn't fresh and I didn't taste any sweetness or fattyness from the chu toro. The crispy rice was tasty but nothing special. We loved the pancake with its fluffiness and delicious yuzu flavor topping. Service was professional but not the best. The only great thing about this is the location and view.

Another great experience at Miru. Great food a great drinks. I really loved the Jules Taylor Sauv Blanc they had and the service was great, especially for a larger group with a last minute reservation. The grilled avocado is still my favorite starter with a not too spicy chili soy sauce. The edamame is classic and salty and the shishito peppers, which I'm often not a fan of, were actually delicious. The spicy bluefin tuna crispy rice was pretty disappointing and the rice sort of got stuck in my teeth. I LOVED the smoked pork belly skewers - so soft and tender and flavorful. The duck yakisoba was really good too. The tako (octopus) skewers were fine. The chicken karaage was just slightly upscale chicken nuggets. Both Makis we got were SUPER tasty. The Miru Rainbow was an explosion of different tastes and the Triple Tuna was fatty and yummy. The Otoro nigiri was also really yummy, but very pricey. The chocolate silk tart was my favorite dessert - chocolate lat and creamy with just a little matcha flavor. I did like the Miru-ishi too but more for concept and texture than taste.

The breakfast at Miru was amazing. We are staying at St.Regis and we just walked up to the restaurant. The view was amazing overlooking Chicago River and Lake Michigan. We ordered Coffee, classic Egg Benedict with mushrooms and no ham and Build your own omelette. All 3 things were amazing. Especially the omelette. Even egg Benedict was v good. It's just the server took forever to get the bill.

I recently visited Miru Chicago for breakfast, and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt calm, elegant, and welcoming. We were lucky to get a window seat, and the view of Lake Michigan made the whole experience even more special. Watching the morning light reflect on the water while enjoying breakfast was simply beautiful. For food, we ordered coffee, avocado toast, and a vegetable omelet, and everything tasted amazing. The coffee was fresh and smooth, perfect to start the day. The avocado toast was well-balanced, fresh, and full of flavor, while the vegetable omelet was cooked perfectly--soft, fluffy, and packed with fresh ingredients. The quality and presentation both amazing The staff was friendly, attentive, and polite, making us feel comfortable throughout our visit. Service was quick without feeling rushed, which made the breakfast even more enjoyable. Overall, Miru is a wonderful spot for a peaceful breakfast with great food, warm service, and stunning lake views. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago and looking for a relaxing start to their day.

A little pricy, did not notice this before I come. But very good service. You should expect at least $200 if you want to eat well and cover their menu.

3 of us back for a marvelous dinner with great views, beautiful decor, great service, and of course great food. The quality of the food is very noticeable. We wanted to have some sake and asked for help. Their sommelier was very helpful and recommended the Snow Tiger Yuki Tora which is unfiltered and looks like milk, but it went beautifully with our food. We started with Edamame which had a perfect char. The grilled Avocado was a pleasant surprise with the char flavor and great spicy sauce. You get a spoon to scoop out the avocado and it's sliced so it works with chop sticks. By the way everything is great for sharing which gives everyone a chance to try the wonderful menu. Then we attacked the main menu. The Wagyu Nigiri, the must have Bluefin Tuna Crispy Rice, Crispy Spring Rolls and I drank the juice with the Hamachi and Lemon. Now it's time to figure what's next! spicy Tuna roll, triple tuna roll, the incredible Wild Mushroom sizzling rice bowl and it is sizzling! We're nearing the end! The Unagi and the Black Cod couldn't have been any better. It melted in our mouths. Think we're finished, we saved room for dessert! The Miru-Ishi and Black Sesame Mochi. We're finished! Maria was a great server and was very attentive!

I'll be the first to admit I reserved a breakfast spot at this Japanese restaurant in the newish St. Regis Hotel primarily for the view. I was not a hotel guest, so I was also interested in seeing this newish hotel, under construction when I last visited Chicago, designed by renowned architect Jeanne Gang, who also designed the stunning Aqua building nearby. Miru is on the hotel's 11th floor. It's a large restaurant with an equally large terrace, where surely tables are in the most demand in good weather. The hotel's St. Regis Terrace is also on this level, also with killer river views. For breakfast, the menu is pretty much American, aside from a Tokyo Breakfast set. I ordered The American breakfast---eggs, a protein (I chose ham), hash browns and toast. It also came with a simple seemingly undressed salad. The breakfast was prepared well and nicely presented. There was only a single slice of toast. Had I known I would have ordered a bagel. The cold-pressed juice blend I ordered called Eternal Life was also very good. Service was decent, perhaps a bit scarce since there were very few guests at 7 am. Given that the St. Regis is a luxury brand, the meal also was not inexpensive. But they did allow me access not only to the Miru Terrace, but the St. Regis Terrace as well, and the views from both are stunning ( and pretty similar).

Nice dinner at Miru. Gorgeous views of the city, beautiful ambiance. Avocado crispy rice: 2.5/5 (avocado tasted funny, kinda fake) Shrimp tempura: 4/5 Spicy salmon: 4/5 Sushi was good but nothing special. Duck Yakisoba on the other hand was incredible, 5/5. This is the only food dish I would come back for. Great service, waitress was kind, attentive, and provided recommendations.

Miru was stunning. Everything about my experience here was beautiful. We tried a bunch of things but my absolute favorites were the salmon avocado roll and the tuna crispy rice. It was the most high quality, fresh tasting sushi ever & I could have eaten every roll they all sounded amazing. Other honorable mentions were the wild mushroom sizzling rice and and eggplant skewer. Loved both of these too! I didn't love the rock shrimp, I wish it was tossed and cooked a bit in the aioli instead of coming on the side. Overall I had the best experience here and cannot wait to go back to try the rest of their menu!

The ambiance is really fun and casual although it's incredibly loud. Service was great except for how poorly they handled that amount of covers. Receiving half empty cups of water for 45 minutes is unacceptable for how much you can expect to pay per person. Similarly, getting individual plates only after the last call AND after we're done eating was a bit shocking to me. The food was below average too which makes this a very hard pass for me next time. From everything we ordered the bang bang shrimp and nuggets did stand out but just weren't enough for how frankly disappointing everything else was.
