Great value. 15 pieces of sushi at the sushi bar for $98 is a great deal. Plus you get to watch a passionate chef prepare your pieces. Once the meal is over, you can add extra pieces which are also very affordable. Had the iced green tea for a bev and that was nice. Overall, great spot to get a budget omakase. Temper your expectations but this is definitely a good bargain either solo or with another person.

We ate at the sushi bar last night and enjoyed the experience and the food. Our chef Aleax did a good job and the pacing felt comfortable. Each of the 14 courses was good, no duds but I would have loved to have had some really fatty tuna. My wife enjoyed the sake and my cocktails were very nice. The Basque cheesecake was a lovely way to end the meal. After two visits I recommend Omakase Box for its price to quality ratio, comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff, it's not my favorite Omakase in town but it's definitely the best value. 4.5 stars

We had a great experience here! Our chef took the time to explain every course she prepared for us. It was my first omakase where each dish was explained so thoroughly. She even answered all our questions! Our favorite pieces were the nigiris with a smoky flavor. The last hand roll dish was also very memorable. I'd definitely come back again!

We did the tableside 12 course omakase and absolutely enjoyed every bite! The restaurant is clean and simple, located in a great location in Logan square. It was pretty crowded on this Saturday night, but we were able to take our time and enjoy our meal. Their menu is very simple with the freshest of nigiri and hand rolls and not much outside of that. They really specialize in tasty quality bites, and every piece was delicious and divine. I tried a couple of sakes which went nicely with the meal, as well as the fresh seaweed salad. The price is amazing compared to other omakase spots, and service is really great too! Lots of quality and care in this restaurant and what they do - definitely worth a try!

Serving seaweed on the side for the handrolls and the dropper of soy sauce was a gamechanger!! I feel like a lot of handrolls I've had got soggy fast but these were so delicious plus the fish was so fresh. I tried the toro, hamachi and spicy tuna and enjoyed them all. Nigiri were solid too- I didn't know it was customary to eat from lightest fish to more red ones, so that was fun to learn. Staff were exceptional and super kind, plus the prices were reasonable. We got their pre-fixed dinner for two this time but I'd go back to try their omakase.

This was an incredible omakase experience! Every single piece was incredible, but the tuna pieces were my favorite. The fish they use was so high quality - I would like to know where they source it so I can get some for myself. And the service we received was probably the best I've ever gotten. Everyone there seemed so happy to welcome us into their restaurant and give us some delicious food.

Ambiance - casual, modern decor, offers omakase counter and regular dine in tables Service - exceptional, our chef for omakase was detailed and timed everything really well Food - fish quality was amazing (love how innovative they are with flavors/toppings), some pieces were heavier on the wasabi

This was a truly awesome dinner experience! The server was so knowledgeable and explained what we were eating and in what order we should eat them. They offered explanation to new menu items and gave us recommendation to come back for future lunch specials. The restaurant is cozy, so you may end up close to another group, but it did not feel cramped. The ambiance walking in and seeing behind the chefs counter to where they keep the fish was very interesting. I'd recommend a meal here- and finish with the basque cheesecake.

I was so excited when I saw Omakase Box on the restaurant week list! Our experience exceeded all expectations (which were already very high). Every bite was absolutely incredible. While I enjoyed everything, the hand rolls were phenomenal. The hamachi hand roll was my personal favorite. On top of the fish quality, the prices just can't be beat! What really blew me away was the service. Each item was described beautifully and they thoughtfully explained each dish. The environment was cozy and welcoming. Absolutely love this place and will be returning!

Absolutely loved this place. Great vibes, great staff. Booked the table side omakase and everything was coursed out perfectly. The only cut I wasn't a fan of was the mackerel, which had a slight fishy and metallic taste. My favorite cuts were the chutoro and variations of sake. We ended up ordering more pieces outside of the omakase experience including wagyu, otoro and uni; all of which were so worth it. The yuzu hibiscus highball was also dangerously good. Definitely would come back!

Social media advertising always gets me, and I saw an omakase deal from Omakase Box that I had to try out ($84/ for 2 people). Now I will say it wasn't actually omakase.....we got seated at a normal table (not the bar seats in front of the sushi chefs) and didn't actually see anyone making our food. However, the service was great (our server recommend their seasonal tea which was FAB), and the food was good as well. Sushi was fresh, although quite small. The hand rolls aren't the bigger cone shaped rolls I'm used to, so be warned if that's what you're looking for; it was basically just a piece of nigiri that you wrap yourself in seaweed paper.

Great service and excellent sushi! The fish melts in your moth with great flavor combinations. If you are looking for a high end experience this is a fun spot to take family and friends

We came in for the $98 Omakase Special for 2. We'd have to say it exceeded our expectations! For the price it was an amazing set of 15 course meal. The Chef Timmy was interactive and kind, while making sure you had a great time. I'd recommend sitting by the counter for the view and experience!

I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Both were great. Our bartenders were lovely and very friendly. Found out this is a Malort tasting room and we were able to sample some different Malorts (the cocoa one was good!). Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.

The restaurant houses both an omakase counter and an izakaya, but in completely separate spaces. The omakase side is an intimate, beautifully designed counter with around 10 seats. We were the only guests that evening, so the whole experience felt wonderfully private -- just us, Chef Shoji, and the fish. Chef Shoji opens the meal by presenting the actual fish you'll be eating, all flown in twice a week from Japan or Spain. It immediately signals what kind of meal you're in for. The 20 courses were well-paced and the quality was consistent throughout. Nigiri and sashimi were pristine, but the hot dishes were equally impressive, which surprised me. Both sides of the menu showed real craft and attention to detail. Service was fantastic -- warm, attentive, and never stuffy. At $210 per person, it's a special occasion meal, but one that genuinely delivers on the price. As someone who eats a lot of omakase back home in LA, I wasn't sure what to expect.
