Stopped by during lunch and the doors were locked 5 minutes after their opening hour so we had to call them. No answer, so we knocked. When we were finally inside , we decided to get the koi roll, dragon roll and a few nigiris. The price is on the higher side for what you get. There was nothing special about the sushis. It wasn't the freshest but it wasn't bad. For the price, I would go somewhere else.
Once again - this place hit the spot for our quick Sushi go-to. This place makes some killer hiBalls, I highly recommend if you plan to dabble in some draaanks! I really liked their tsukemono, it complimented every dish, highly recommend! was good, it isn't top tier quality but at its affordable cost it made sense and I still recommend this place. Tip: parking blows, especially at night. You might have to park at the church lot next door which I had no issues with it since they were closed.

We ordered a variety of dishes to try, some highlights include katsu curry, cream udon, skewer & the sashimi platter. The sashimi cuts were very fresh and generous. The chicken skewer was honestly some of the freshest we've ever tried. The udon was super creamy (duh), especially loved dipping the bread within. We've now been here at least three times. Every meal was great. Definitely a must try!

Their highballs are delicious with flavors like yuzu, earl grey and blood orange and only $4.50-$5.00 during happy hour. Their food - WOW. Their shrimp tempura tastes homemade and not like the ones you get at every other restaurant. Their sashimi is so fresh, I love scallops and their hotate was sweet and not fishy at all, one of the best I've had in Dallas. All their katsu was delicious and their skewers were AMAZING. chicken was juicy and had great flavor. Service is also amazing - iris was our server the past few times we've been and is so sweet and friendly! Can't wait to come back as our new go to spot.

Went here on a Saturday night with a group of 7, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like how they have private room area for larger groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is pretty good, I got the Koi special roll and salmon roll. I will say the day we went service was a bit slow and our food came out at very different times which was a bit awkward. We came around 9pm and I didn't get my food until around 10:20 while some of the others already got their food and finished eating it. Might've been just that night but a little strange. Overall would be back to maybe try their lunch combos but probably not on a Saturday night.

The staff is friendly, welcoming and accommodating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is modern and open. Plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What I've ordered: -sushi lunch special: so good, I could eat this everyday! It comes with a variety of small sides, a miso soup and salad. -gyoza: delish. -shumai: steamed, a little softer than I prefer because it tends to fall apart as I pick it up to eat. -edamame: healthy and fresh. -chicken karage: good portion. -chicken yakitori: so good, love the light spice rub on top. -chirashi don: so fresh and love the variety of fish. -yellowtail handroll: not on the menu, I asked them to make it and they did! It was so good! I highly recommend this new sushi spot!

I had a bento box and some nigiri at Koi and found it to be very good. During my meal I found out that the restaurant recently went through ownership and kitchen changes so what I was tasting were new. This was my first time here so I don't know what it was like before but I liked what I ate. The nigiri was good. I wasn't expecting high end omakase level sushi or anything so I wasn't disappointed. The bento box was tasty and nicely presented. I was told that they will have more bento box choices in the future once the menu gets revamped. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped by randomly to try it to cover our sushi cravings and it was packed house that night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got a lot of different foods here: kaki fry (fried oyster), kanitsume (fried crab claws), chirashi don, grilled hamachi kama, sake steamed clam soup, koi sashimi (consisting of 25 pieces), and the sashimi hotate. For drinks, we tried the yuzu highballs and got Sapporo for beer. The food overall was fresh and delicious; I'd probably get everything else again besides the clam soup (just wasn't for our taste). Near H-Mart, this fairly new restaurant is serving up traditional Izakaya food alongside sushi! The inside was cozy and modernly designed with lots of Japanese inspiration. I was really excited to try the food bc they had items I really do not see often in Texas! The service was quick and the food came out even quicker! Let's get into it: Koi special roll - Very tasty roll if you're into rolls, it included: Panko shrimp, crab meat, spring mix, spicy mix sashimi, tempura flakes, eel sauce, sp. mayo, soy paper Assorted oden soup - we make this at home and rarely see it in restaurants here! Loved seeing it on the menu and it was very tasty! Yakitori - Momo (chicken) and tsukune (meatball) - the chicken was really good, but the meatball yakitori was a bit salty Marinated salmon don - very buttery and fresh salmon in this, loved the presentation and accompanied by an egg yolk which I loved! Okonomiyaki - another item I'm not used to seeing on menus here, & it was good!! Ika geso - fried squid! It came with a dipping sauce that was Steamed gyoza - What you would expect, but it did taste good! read more

ORDER Ramen (Tonkotsu) and Sushi Set - Chef's choice of sushi along with Tonkotsu Ramen - My friend ordered the ramen and said it was in his top 2 ramen places around the area. The broth is super rich with complex flavors. The chasu meat has a charred flavor that seeps into the broth and makes it divine. Noodles were bouncy and full of flavor. Very good ramen. Sashimi and Roll Set - Assorted Sashimi with Salmon Rolls. All the seafood was also super yummy. There was no fishiness at all with the raw fish. The cuts were pretty thick and generous too! The rolls were simple and yummy with just rice and salmon, wrapped in the nori. The food also came with salad with a ginger dressing. I'm not too big a fan on salad but it just tasted like regular salad with minimal dressing. Light and the vegetables were also pretty fresh. Overall, the quality of the food is top-notch and looks beautiful. I would definitely come back and bring friends. It's a great place to just sit and catch up over some amazing Japanese Food. Probably one of my top restaurants in the area. VIBES My friend and I came around lunch time and it wasn't too crowded. Pretty minimal decorations overall. The seating consists of wooden tables with benches or wooden booth-like seating. The lighting is pretty dim overall which creates a cozy environment. There are some decorations that are more Japanese-based but I will say that there is some Korean influence as demonstrated by the music and overall feel of the place (which makes sense because it is in K-Town). There is also seating that is more private in these rooms that are blocked off by short curtains. SERVICE Service was great! They were quick and attentive to our needs. Super friendly and food came out very fast. As we left, they thanked us for coming. They were also serving a special grand opening lunch menu with great prices for the quality and amount of food! I'm hoping they keep something similar with the combos because it gives you an opportunity to taste a little bit of everything. read more

Koi Special Roll, Katsu Don Super cute new place, nice interior with huge wood tables. Very attentive servers. Koi special roll was pretty solid and tasty. Katsu Don was good but nothing lifechanging. Food service was a little slow. The place was really busy for a random weekday night. Edamame comes complimentary for the table. A little pricey. To those who come here please understand that the IMAGES ON MENU ARE NOT AN ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF WHAT IS SERVED. I ordered the tonkatsu curry and was served a paper thin pork cutlet and with curry that tasted like it was from a packet with no vegetables. I get the economy is bad but this was inexcusable to serve at the same price of a decent tonkatsu curry. I have had may tonkatsu within my life and yes they are often served thin but never this thin and without veggies. It was not the serving staff's fault and I appreciate that I wasn't charged for the tonkatsu that wasn't worth wasting my calories count. This is a big deal for someone like me that has to count their calories and saves meals like this for my treat. Go to KUROBUTA or Abe nearby for decent tonkatsu and curry. read more

Came here with the family because my uncle had visited a couple days before and said it was fire. I'm not a huge sushi/seafood guy but the sashimi was buttery and fresh. I'm not even sure what each sashimi was but every one of them were uniquely dressed and seasoned with i really liked. The yakitori were all flavorful and had a nice charred flavor which reminded me of the time when i was in japan, completely hammered and enjoying the yaks there I only grabbed photos of the chicken wing and meatball yak with the koi sashimi but we also tried the takoyaki, okonomiyaki, buta ta kakuni, grilled hamachi collar, and the tuna belly. I honestly didn't expect much before dining here but I was pleasantly surprised! The fish was fresh and the value was spectacular when compared to other high end sushi restaurants. In addition, the izakaya portion of the menu was spot-on. I particularly enjoyed the fried squid legs (ika geso) and grilled Berkshire sausage. Koi is definitely a hidden gem and I highly recommend it for all sushi/izakaya lovers! read more

New place with nice interior design and friendly staffs . Our server was nice and attentive . We ordered bunch of sashimi and rolls and all were delicious . The Hamachi Kama grill was also good . The ramen wasn't up to par here . But the price for the place wasn't that outrageous. read more

Cute little spot it was good but nothing special I feel like if you want high quality fish you gotta get it at fine dining places. My husband tried the uni here & it was low quality/fishy & the toro & flounder was tough. Stick to the rolls here. the koi special was delicious although little amount of fresh salmon. Loved the fried crab claws, sweet shrimp nigiri & the seabass sashimi was delicious. To sum it all up, the service was excellent! Great new sushi restaurant in K-town in Carrollton. The interior decor is pleasant and a very nice atmosphere to chill and eat with friends or family. Their grand opening menu is decently priced. We had gotten the biggest sashimi tray and it's definitely the most delicious and quality cuts I've had in the area. I would say it was worth the price. The fried squid legs and veggie tempera was perfectly flakey on the outside. Service was superb as well. I'd come back for sure. read more

Food: DELISH. We ordered a roll, bowl, hamachi, and the sashimi platter. The fish is all prepared well, very soft and fresh, and strategically plated in a way that the unique types of fish are really highlighted. Def coming back! Service: All workers were very kind and prompt. They also are able to help in both English and Korean. Ambiance: Very cute and fitting. It's a smaller space, but they've placed the tables well so it doesn't feel cramped. There are also two rooms available that are slightly tucked away from the main eating area if you want some privacy. read more

I don't post often but for this new place I have to. EVERYTHING I ordered here was fresh and delicious. I ordered their Takoyaki, Shrimp Tempura, California roll, and Katsu Don. Their Katsu Don was perfect, they made it the way I like mine done. It wasn't heavy and had the perfect balance - you can taste the rich flavor. Service is great here. Small place but the decor is very nice. I like their use of the projection for Japanese MVs (great song selections). I will definitely be a regular here. Can't wait to try out their rest of their menu. read more

Went here for the first time last week during lunch and had an amazing time! We tried to have a little bit of everything on the menu. The sushi was definitely fresh and buttery, and the ramen was actually delicious! The decor is super cute and the service was amazing! read more
