Even though i came at an unexpectedly busy time, the staff was so attentive and got the food out the second it was ready. everyone was moving so fast and were all so friendly. As i listed to idle conversation with people, everyone seemed to be remarking how good the food was so im sure it wasnt just me. Their all you can east isnt advertised on the menu so i had to ask for it personally but the minute i did they had a sheet ready! You mark down all the things you want. Ill live write out my review as i receive and eat things: 1. Ahi tower is one of the best things ive ever eaten. it brings SO MUCH fish and crab. I really thought it would be mostly rice but nope. GREAT portion and SUPER delicious. will be thinking about it for a while 2. Ninja roll.. AGAIN how is it so good? perfect amount of spicy!! also they somehow made the salmon on top creamy? 3. Yokohoma roll had less flavor than the ninja but it felt fresher! its perfect for when u want fish but not too much flavor 4. Washing roll was surprisingly so good!! everything ive had so far has been FANTASTIC but i normally hate krab. they mixed it in a way that made is actually really yummy?! almost bbqy but idk how to describe it 5. eel avocado roll might be my favorite? it had a LOT of flavor. ill be honest it didnt taste much like EEL but more like whatever sauce they put on it. it wasnt sweet at all which is nice considering eel usually is be warned anything you dont finish will be chard a la carte so make SURE u dont order as much as me because i couldnt finish what i ordered The place itself is cold (which is a big plus for me when im eating) and looks like a family spot. idk how to describe it but you can just tell its a couple familys go to sushi place. theres tons of parking outside too! They also have a spot for you to sit on the sushi bar to watch the chefs cook! it was really cool and i even saw a couple people request to be sat there Everyone was so sweet and attentive i loved it :)

Disclaimer: My review is strictly on the AYCE experience here. I am a huge AYCE sushi eater, and I decided to give this place a shot because of the overwhelming amount of positive reviews it received. Honestly speaking, I wasn't very impressed by the nigiri/sashimi I ordered for its $45 price point. This was more of a $35 experience or less. My first taste of the yellowtail was delicate, exquisite, and top/tier but the rest of my selection lacked the same quality. Eel, escolar, and seared salmon are typically my go-tos but they were off-putting here. Unfortunately it didn't surpass my expectations but I wouldn't say it was bad, it was just not worth it for me. In comparison to other AYCEs I've had in Dallas, this would be ranked in the middle/lower bottom of my list. I would come back just to try the a la carte menu, and for the wonderful service.

I had an issue with my car, so I was in the area. I looked up sushi and i found Sushi Yokohama. This is my first time here and it was great. From the moment I walked in I had great service and an overall great experience. The ambiance is a cozy sushi place. I came in by myself, and sat at the sushi bar. It was very cool watching the chef prepare the food.

After doing some research I had to try Sushi Yokohama. They don't really advertise the AYCE but I would say it's definitely worth it. At 45$ the quality and amount you can get is there. The place was busy on Friday night and the wait staff did a great job. They just needed more people to help out with the patrons .the AYCE menu offers a max of certain things but it was very good. I highly recommend the seared salmon nigiri. It's a little bit of a hula for me to get up to this location but looking to get back.

Stepping into this spot, i immediately felt comfortable and relaxed. There was ambient piano music playing, the game was on low and our server's voice was soft, comforting, yet clear. They both seemed like they genuinely wanted to make sure our meal was good. I got the 2 entree bento box with a Salomon roll and gyoza (the gyoza is pork) and it came with salad (which was delicious !! Tasted kinda orangey) , white rice (As you could expect) , vegetable eggroll (solid and deliciously crunchy), and , what i originally came for, miso soup. The miso soup was so good i was tempted to order another one by itself but i was so full already. I wasn't able to eat most of it because there was so much for a lunch special, i didn't expect all of that the salmon sushi tasted delicious and fresh and i had a lil green tea and water with it. Honestly, the whole time was great. The server even asked if the food was okay since i damn near fell asleep at the table i mean you would too if you had great, warm food, great ambient music and a relaxing environment. 10/10 !!

Salmon Roll (left) and Giant Roll (right)

FOOD Salmon Roll - The roll is just nori around rice and salmon. A simple and tasty roll. Giant Roll - This roll has crabmeat and avocado in the center nad is wrapped by salmon on the outside. There is also spicy tuna and scallop on the top. For both of the rolls, you can tell that the quality is definitely there. The ingredients are flavorful and no fishiness at all. The sauces drizzled are in the perfect amount to where the sauce isn't too overpowering. VIBES This place is a pretty casual place to eat sushi. Lighting is on the dimmer side with some lighting from the window and some lighting from lanterns inside. The aesthetic is mostly wooden with wooden chairs and beams on the ceiling. There is also a bar area. SERVICE Service was good overall. Everything came out quickly and they checked on us frequently.

Found this place while waiting on my son's car to be serviced. Nice atmosphere. Clean. The food is fresh, nicely flavored chicken fried rice, perfect presentation and I enjoyed the entire experience. The staff helped answer questions on the various rolls and the pricing was fair. Def plan on coming again!

Came in for lunch, had the all you can eat, which was $45 today. I don't love that the price on this fluctuates, but to be honest, it's absolutely worth $45. I absolutely feel like I more than covered that value in the amount/quality of food that I ate today. Many items to choose from, rolls are not mostly rice or mayo/krab mix (which is what a lot of AYCE places try to pull). Appetizers, soup, salad, hot food, fresh rolls, fried rolls, hand rolls, and more. I did not have a single item which was sub par. The tempura was great, hot and fresh. Sushi was really good, everything was fresh, good sized cuts. One round of Food I ordered was made slightly incorrectly, but it was not a big deal (maki rolls were supposed to have been hand rolls), they apologized and tried to fix it but I insisted that it was fine. Restaurant is nice, it feels like a small authentic Japanese sushi den with lots of wood, and comfortable ambiance. It's clean, absolutely no concerns. Service was friendly and quick. If I'm back in the area, I'll absolutely be back!

Sushi Yokohama is definitely of one of the top sushi places I've ever visisted. I was just visiting Dallas too, and it's better than lots sushi I've had in the west coast (seattle/bay/la), wish I got to stay longer so I can revisit this place! We went on a weekday, they had lots lunch different lunch specials. Both the baked and regular salmon rolls were my favorite. The restaurant was not too busy when we went, it's a good casual spot for lunch or dinner.

AYCE FOR $45, worth it! Come with an empty stomach! One round for two people, we left with no space for more!

Went for lunch - it was great! The fish portions on the sushi were really good. Prices were very fair. Highly recommend. $17 for this bento box at lunch.

I want to extend a huge shout-out to our waiter, Vivian, for giving us insight on the food and bars/places to check around in Dallas! For the nigiri I had the fatty tuna, a5 wagyu, and king salmon. They were all absolutely delicious and warped me to Japan. I was reminded of the same quality and taste - which checks out since they import their fish from Japan! The special kome roll was so delicious I ate it very slowly to savor every bite and memory of sushi in Japan. For dessert I had the deep fried cheesecake - I think the last time I had this I was 12 at Mr. sushi in Boston and all my memories came back. Our table was seated directly beneath an air vent that was actively dripping water. During dinner, the water repeatedly dripped onto me. After notifying the staff the first time, they simply wiped down the vent while food was being served rather than offering to reseat our party. When I brought the issue to their attention a second time, the response was the same; they wiped it down, but the dripping continued throughout the remainder of the meal. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected a more proactive solution and better attention to guest comfort. Additionally, our group ordered the Demon Slayer 300 mL sake, priced at $55. After pouring the sake, our server, Adonis, took the bottle away with him, even though we understood that the bottle was intended to remain at the table for our party. This added to the confusion and frustration surrounding the overall experience. As a first-time guest, I was looking forward to an enjoyable dining experience, but the lack of attention to these issues left me disappointed. While the food may have been enjoyable, the service and handling of these concerns fell short of expectations, particularly given the cost of dining here.

Sushi Bar Dallas…read more Omakase at Sushi Bar Dallas is an incredible experience from the moment you step inside. The room is intentionally intimate and very dark, with an industrial ceiling where pipes climb 20+ feet above, signaling you're in for something far from a traditional sushi bar. My only gripe came at the front of the house: the initial greeting and the rule explanation were a little too demanding and elementary for someone who is tired and paying a significant amount of money for a sushi dinner. Put the rules in an email, text and on the website i'm not in 4th grade. The hostess was pleasant, but she seemed a bit robotic in doling out the rules of the evening. The line-up system, where you wait your turn and have your name called, feels odd and reminds me of the times I visited my friend in prison and the guards lined us up against the wall by our names before they took us to the room with inmates. Uncomfortable but I do follow most rules and there was a reason for the lineup that becomes clear as you settle in. Next she takes you down a dimly lit, narrow wooden staircase and you land in a basement sanctuary of omakase heaven. Our hostess knocked and the door opened to a room that felt specially curated for this meal. Each guest found their name written in gold on a sign on the sushi bar where you are suppose to sit. The chair was a very comfortable leather chair. Each gold written name plate, marking the guest order she placed us in upstairs. My seat was at the center of the sushi bar, perfectly positioned to capture video and photos of both chefs in action. From the start, we were told we'd be eating with our hands, a nod to traditional Japanese dining. The chefs staged 17 courses with the precision of neurosurgeons, walking us through every nuance from the provenance of the seafood to the section of the fish we were eating to the age of the barrel aged soy sauce. Not a detail was missed, and timing felt both deliberate and urgent in all the right moments. The father, Jose, was laid-back and effortlessly in control, while Leo, Jose's son, emerged as a true partner in the kitchen, their dynamic reminiscent of watching a masterful, living artwork take shape. The two moved back and forth with a rhythm that felt like a collaboration at the highest level, each dish placed neatly on a flat stone in front of each of us. They would then announce with pride what we were about to inhale and wait in anticipation of our response. It was clear they take tremendous pride in their craft, presenting edible masterpieces that felt almost ceremonial. Too keep everyone happy with the time in between dishes there was an endless supply of a pickled salad that I could not stop eating. As for a favorite course, it's hard to pick one. Each bite built on the last, and the whole sequence felt cohesive, an immersive set from tartare hand roll, to Shima Aji, Madai, Uni my favorite, Hotate, Masu, Hirami, Hamachi, Bincho, Kinmedai, and something I have never heard of Zuwaigani, followed by the best Waygu I have ever had in my life and ending with a passion fruit sorbet with activated charcoal crumbles and toasted crispy coconut, I don't like coconut and I ate every bite. The pairing of technique, seasonal seafood, and f#%king great seasonings left a lasting impression or as my wife says, "my husband has food memories." If you're considering a visit, go with an open mind, a willingness to lean into the pace, and a camera ready (flash off it's one of the rules) for the moments when the chefs' artistry shines. The father-and-son team of Jose Manuel Tapia and Leo deliver something rare: not just sushi, but a storytelling meal where every plate is a page in an ongoing, delicious epic food story. At the end they will make you additional food for an additional price but it's worth it. They then walked us over to a very nice bar with a great vibe and old school Dazz Band playing like I was in a time machine and it was 1982. Great place, great food, great vibe. Be ready to drop $300 plus per person tip is included but you will want to tip the sushi chefs something extra.

The pacing of the courses was just right, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience felt relaxed but refined. It's the kind of place where you just settle in and enjoy the craft. Easily one of my favorite sushi experiences in Dallas. I'll definitely be back.

Japan was extraordinary. The food was extraordinary. The trains were extraordinary. The trains specifically deserve their own paragraph because I have never in my life encountered a public transportation system that operates with the precision and quiet dignity of the Japanese rail network. Trains that arrive at the exact second they are supposed to arrive. Trains that leave at the exact second they are supposed to leave. A whole society of people moving through stations the size of small cities with calm purpose and zero visible distress, consulting their phones, reading books, buying things from vending machines that should not logically exist inside a train station but do because Japan has decided that convenience is a human right and I agree completely. I tell you all of this to explain what happened at the train station when we tried to find pizza. Now I know what you are thinking. You went to Japan and you tried to find pizza. And yes. Yes we did. We had been eating spectacular Japanese food for several days running, food that made us question every culinary decision we had made in our entire lives up to that point, and then something happened in the group dynamic that can only be explained as a collective temporary insanity and somebody said what about pizza and instead of saying no we are in Japan and there is yakitori available within forty feet of us at all times, everybody said yeah okay pizza sounds good actually. The station we were in had approximately forty seven exits. I counted. Not all of them. I counted forty seven before I gave up counting and simply accepted that exits were infinite and directional signage was a suggestion. We had been told the pizza place was near exit B14. There was no exit B14. There was a B4 and a B41 and something that might have been B14 but was labeled in a way that required a level of kanji literacy I had not developed in the forty eight hours since landing. We walked for twenty two minutes. We passed the same Family Mart three times which I know because the same employee was stocking the same shelf each time and by the third pass he looked at us with an expression of gentle recognition and what I can only describe as compassionate pity. We never found the pizza place. We found a ramen shop instead and ate the best bowl of ramen of our collective lives and agreed to never speak of the pizza incident again except that I am speaking of it right now because it is directly relevant to the fact that when I came back to Dallas and needed Japanese food that did not require navigating a forty seven exit train station, I went to Tei Tei Robata Bar on Henderson Avenue and everything was immediately right with the world. Tei Tei has been on Henderson Avenue since the late nineties. Founder Teiichi Sakurai, who is also the man behind Tei An which if you have not been to Tei An please go immediately after reading this review and before doing anything else in your life, has been a James Beard semifinalist six times which is the kind of number that should be printed somewhere more prominently than it currently is, like on a highway billboard or possibly the side of a building. You walk in through a Japanese garden to get to the entrance. A Japanese garden. In Dallas. On Henderson Avenue. Between a taco place and a bar with a patio. I walked through it after the forty seven exit train station and my blood pressure dropped twelve points immediately and I have no medical evidence for this but I am confident it is true. Robata is the traditional Northern Japanese grill style. Wood charcoal. Low heat. Slow intention. Things arrive on skewers that have been coaxed rather than forced into deliciousness. The miso sea bass is the kind of dish that people describe by going quiet for a moment first. The cornflake shrimp is a thing that should not work as a concept and works completely as a reality. The daily special comes out in three parts, raw, robata, and more, and each part is a small argument for why you should be paying better attention to what you eat every day of your life. The sashimi sits in a case on ice near the kitchen and you can watch the chefs working with a calm precision that is genuinely meditative to observe, like a train system that runs on the exact second it is supposed to run, quiet and intentional and doing exactly what it is supposed to do without any drama about it. I sat at the sushi bar and ate things I will not fully describe because some experiences should be discovered and not spoiled. I thought about the ramen we found instead of the pizza we were looking for and decided that getting lost is sometimes the whole point.

It fills up really fast, especially during the weekdays a lot of business people like to enjoy cocktails. Very sleek and clean and quaint place. The bar is very nice. Always have a good time when we're here
