I typically enjoy this place. Yesterday I had a terrible experience with them. I ordered an Italian beef with an extra side of aus jus. I enjoy thier aus jus. I get the delivery and it came with a tiny little 2 ounce cup of aus jus. Not the nice big 12 ounce cup. Happened once before and the manager brought me what I ordered. The person I talked to told me I didn't order right that I needed to write a note I wanted the 12 ounce. Besides that the sandwich was horrible, very little meat this time. Since I did not get what I ordered, they argued with me and essentially gave me a cheesy pepper sandwich. Screw them in the future. I suggest they hire people that speak english. read more

It's been years since I've been to Kojak's, but we came back home for a visit over the holidays and were looking for a dinner on Christmas Eve. We lucked out with Kojak's being one of the few places open. We called to order gyros and fries for pickup. While I can't comment on dining in, I imagine it's similar to years ago where it's more fast casual where you take a seat after ordering and wait to go grab your order. I heard they're under new ownership, so I was curious how the food has held up. The gyros were HUGE! I could barely finish half, it had so much meat. There were a bit too many onions, but that's not too problematic since you can just pull some off. The tzatziki was a bit thick and missing some flavor, it seemed like mostly just the cucumber and yogurt but was missing some of the lemon, herbs, and olive oil flavor. The fries were crispy and solid, pretty fresh. My mom liked her chicken kebabs, and we all had some of the rice pilaf which was super flavorful (and there was a TON). It's not quite as great as I remember, but I'm definitely open to coming back when I'm in town. read more

I was visiting family and they suggested we order from Kojak's. I have never had their food. I ordered online, very easy. My pickup was ready on time. The chicken Gryos is really good! The meat is tender and flavorful. There was plenty of meat and toppings. The honey mustard is tasty. Everyone in my family enjoyed all of the food we ordered. It had been quite a while since my family had ordered Kojak's. We just weren't getting the same experience, but wow am I happy we went back. By far the best Kojak's experience we've ever had and we used to be regulars. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken as I had often done and it wasn't just a bunch of lettuce as it had been times before. Lots of olives, onions, feta, chicken and peppers instead of a limited amount. My husband ordered a southwestern salad and had a similar experience with his. Our son enjoyed his chicken tenders and onion rings again and they were cooked perfectly. I don't know if it changed hands but hope it forever stays this way. read more

Not a good experience tonight. I had placed an order at 7:10pm online for a burger and mozzarella sticks, pretty simple I thought. Arrived a bit before 7:20pm to find out it was super busy with a line around the tables. Kids screaming and running everywhere. I order my food online for a quick pick-up to avoid that. So I got in line to pick up my order I placed online. Ten mins later, I tell the guy at the counter I'm here for my order. He tells the people in the kitchen. I continue to wait, standing and waiting where I could without trying to stand in people's way. I start to realize everyone is getting their food except for me. I ask the guy again, at this point it's 7:40pm. He goes in the kitchen and the bag was just there sitting on the ledge. I told him I placed the order 30 minutes ago. Food had no flavor and was cold before we even began eating very disappointing for not that many customers.

We started ordering from Kojack's during the pandemic, to support local and all that... Food was okay then, but every other delivery order was missing something - all but one drink, or all of the fries, or we would order 8 meals and 1 person's meal would be missing... The usual response was we will give you store credit, cool cool. Well, after a few times of that happening, we stopped ordering for delivery. I went in today to use those credits - and they wouldn't honor any of the credits! Granted, some of them were 2 years old (apparently the owner changed since then and it's beyond them to honor a $7 credit from the former owners or even look up my more recent credits). Also, if you like beef and cheddar croissants, don't get it here, it's basically like a beef and nacho squeeze faux cheese product, no actual cheddar to be found. With service like this, we will once again stop ordering from Kojack's for the foreseeable future. read more

I ordered a salad... the lettuce was brown and orange... I went to complain, the lady that helped me looked at me like I owed her an apology for their mistake. She took the salad looked at it gave it to the guy in the back... he brought out another one... the lettuce was still discolored! They didn't apologize, handed me the container and that's all. We came in today for hotdogs, upon ordering the two hotdogs special I was asked "do you want large or medium fries?" I responded " what size comes with the special?" The person behind the counter got confused, with help from another person I was able to place the order. Then we proceeded to wait 15 minutes during which time other people placed orders and received them. I then saw the person behind the counter hand my order to the cook. I went back to the counter and asked what was the delay and was told " some food takes longer ". I believe I was owed an apology but did not get one. Very poor customer service! Since it's so important to keep the local businesses open and running right now I wanted to try Kojak's. Kojak's is accommodating during this pandemic as they offer no contact carry out which I tried a couple times now. I ordered their grilled chicken pita with everything on it which was very good and same with their cheese fries. Their burger unfortunately was not as good. The staff that came to my car both times were both very friendly. The second time the wait took a while but worth it. I'm looking forward to trying their grilled chicken Malibu sandwich on a croissant with bacon and American cheese tonight! They have many selections on their menu. I overall give them 3.75 stars. Kate was a horrible person lacks empathy, has a very ugly tone we ordered 110 dollars of food when the food was finished they didn't call our name out, and when we order for a side of cheese or ranch and it's missing from our order politely mention it to them and she goes on to role her eyes, not even "I do apologize let me get it for you" my whole family and I have been following this business since 2009 when they started small they had wonderful workers back then very polite, greeting everyone with a wonderful smile. When in Greece, I mean Cary, eat at Kojak's! I first met Kojack's in 1999 and it was love at first sight. I moved away in 2001, but have fond memories of the 1/2 Greek Chicken. So good, I think about it often. Fresh Grilled, marinated in Greek Gold and served over a bed of fries. The juices from the chicken run down over the fries for a completely insane experience. Served with a Greek salad, my life is complete! Thanks for still being here Kojacks! You can only imagine my horror as I drove past the old digs and seeing it empty! I remember frequenting the original elbow-to-elbow hole-in-the-wall location for years. Watching my very order being seared on a well-seasoned grill was always mesmerizing. They have since expanded. Kojak's is a classic Chicago Greek style joint, showcasing Italian beef, gyros, red hots, burgers, and a whole lot more including lots of Hershey's ice cream! Kojak's because is never hit or miss, it is always consistent. Man is their menu big! I mean, you can't go wrong with anything deep fried such as cod sandwich, shrimp, pizza puffs, even deep fried oreos and cheesecake bites. Then theres the grill. I could be wrong, but I think they use flat top griddles rather than flame now. That or they invested in new grills that get better over time. Either way, no need to head deep into the Chi to get dipped beef with giardiniera, polish, brats, gyro sandwiches & platters, lamb skewers and more because its all in good ol Cary. They do have some original creations. Get their seashore-style steak fries, they are worth it. Burgers are always charred to your preferred doneness, but if you can't decide between that or a gyro, get Greek Freak. Its a 1/3 pound patty on a bun of choice, but then they add gyro meat, feta, tomato, tzatziki sauce, and bacon. Delicious but heads up, it can max you out. When it comes to the classic gyro, I noticed that Kojak's 1 ups other places. One has the option of beef/lamb, chicken, or classic pork gyro sandwiches and platters. They now have ourdoor and indoor seating, carryout, and delivery. All in all, a great place for comfort food. read more
