This place use to be really good and a go to spot for us...over the past year or so EVERYTHING has gone down the drain. Today was my last time doing business with them ordered the 2 hot dog meal thats listed on the drive thru menu for $11.99 got charged $13.49...okay not that big of a deal but then I get home and see the hot dogs (see pictures) looks disgusting but I still tried them...burnt on the outside barely done on the inside also got a double dog randomly? I am completely turned off from this place and their lack of caring anymore

I have seen this place every time we drive by and we say that we need to eat here! Well today is that day! The restaurant is large and they have tall and short tables (no booths) the restaurant is clean and they have TV's and window shades too. We ordered and split the Chubby burger because it says it is the biggest burger you will ever eat. All I can say is wow! It was cooked to perfection and is one of those burgers that when you pick it up your not putting it down... cause it taste so good and is pretty messy to try to pickup again. The chili cheese fries were amazing! I wish the potion size was larger because they tasted so delicious! The portion size and price is perfect for one person to eat yummy I cannot wait to come back again and order something else! Overall I definitely recommend dining here, there are lots of variety including 8 salads, seafood, Mexican and Greek options too!

Tequila old fashioned was well balanced and a good take on a classic Red neck sushi--weekend special! Pork belly melted in your mouth and candied jalapeño made the bite truly pop! Garlic bread cheese curds--weekend special! While the garlic flavor was super prominent, I wish these were crisper to give each bite more texture Ceviche--good fresh bite from the mango and citrus. Shrimp and scallops were fine Crab cake--standout dish of the evening! Wow! These were bursting with meat and minimal filler. Sauce was the perfect accompaniment

I had the Burrito Jarocho Suizo (pictured below), which was filled with steak, pastor, beans, rice, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and fresh cheese, topped with home-made ranchero sauce. It was huge and it was a flavor explosion in every bite. I got the dinner along with it and enjoyed the rice and refried beans. My wife got a Veggie Burrito and a side of the Chile Rellenos Veracruz. She loved the contents of the veggie burrito (grilled peppers, onions, mushrooms with beans, rice, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and guacamole). The mushrooms were a nice little surprise. So the food was great but overall the experience could be better. We came in about 30 min to closing time, so that was probably part of the issue. We were seated but weren't told that menus or waters or silverware was on the way. We just sat and waited for 5 minutes and when I got up to look for menus myself, I was told in an annoyed manner, "I'll get your menus, just give me a minute." That was awkward. Our server didn't seem interested in the fact that it was our first time there and when asked what she recommended, she gave a generic answer like, "Customers like our tacos." Not a big deal, but there wasn't a sense of pride in the menu. Lastly, we weren't told that additional chips and salsa cost extra, so we had a surprise addition to the bill, not that it was outrageous. We would've liked to at least been given the heads up. The house salsa was amazing. So overall, the experience was okay. There were some people drinking at the bar and using the game machines in the front and being a little loud, but other than that, the place was quiet enough for a good conversation at the end of the night. Will we be back? Hard to say. There's so many other Mexican options in the area with equally good food and a better overall experience. Maybe it was an off night, so we might try it again soon.

I wanted to bring some home with me.

The food is made with love and executed with skill. Creative and inventive but not over the top where form trumps taste. Second time to this place and will return over and over. Fried pickle and avocado appetizer knocked my socks off. Served with two sauces (red/loosely based on 1000 island and green/not mint). Both pared perfectly with the course but brought out totally different notes. One highlighted and intensified the sourness of pickle and the other played on the creaminess of Avacado. Deserts are a must. Drinks are good but a little on the sweeter side. It's a hidden gem!

The roasted poblano soup was really delicious with deep flavors. My entrée was the roasted mini pumpkin with foie grass and apples. It was very tasty although a tad sweet and for a few extra dollars it would have been nice to have two slices of foie gras. Another of us ordered the trout and it did not state it had a creamy sauce that was going to smother the dish...two others ordered beef or the mixed grill and it was way too rare and chewy - not high enough quality meat. Not sure I would return.

Also, they have Modelo on tap. That is great. I had the shrimp fajita, and my wife had the taco platter. Both were slightly missing. The shrimp seemed to be subpar tasting (I think they use a lower quality shrimp) and the whole platter was drowning in oil, and was highly underseasoned. My wife's tacos: the Cocinita was really salty! I like salt, don't get me wrong, but that is all you taste, then the cocinita taste finally comes in after a few minutes... that's really bad...The Carne was the opposite (totally bland) , and she had a chorizo which was a bad brand of a chorizo. (I'd say Supremo Chorizo is much better taste than this, and Supremo has nothing but filler in it). Very disappointing. Whatever vendor you're using, cancel them, they're doing you a huge disservice. All that for $73. Our server was very nice and she was very attentive. That's the reason why we did tip her 20%. When she asked about the food, he said it was great. We didn't want her to feel bad. She didn't cook it. & Why cause a scene? It was edible, but we're not coming back. Sorry, we arrived at 3 PM, before the rush scene at 5 PM. So there really was no excuse. You need to taste your food cooks... I am sure there are many who don't know the difference, but I've been to Many Mexican restaurants; including in Mexico. No not your vacation hotspots. I'm talking the real parts of Mexico. (Like Coyocan, (the outskirts in f Mexico City), Merida, Jalisco....etc... There's a huge difference.... ) So, we will still be driving far to find a great Mexican restaurant. The two that I still recommend are La Mera Mera in Libertyville and El Rodero in Streamwood. Both are small little places, but so well worth the trips.. So: They are the closest we can find to being authentic and care for the food they serve.... On to our next suburban hidden find if possible...Good luck!
