I understand that things can happen so I was ok with them remaking my food but when you put ppl in an inconvenience make it count. I passed by this spot on the way to CVS and called them after to find out if they had nuts and the lady on the phone said they didn't so I decided to get drive thru. This place is the WORST!!! It used to be pretty good but it is not all it is chopped up to be... It all started when I began my journey on the keto diet. I started ordering with no rice and extra broccoli with chicken of which the box would come out with no extra broccoli and it would come with a POOL of sauce at the bottom that would leak through the bag.. About a month ago I had gotten this same meal there and asked for it to be double bagged and extra drained but when I received the food I put it in my seat then drove to clean my car... when I picked up the bag I noticed that the bag was not doubled as asked for not drained as the soy sauce or teriyaki sauce leaked on my cloth seat then to my floor board.. They did NOTHING about this and I had to pay for it to be cleaned for there poor management... I stayed away from here but last week I decided I would give it another try and had my mother pick it up on her way home. As I was eating my food I then realized that the food smelled bad and there was a long black and blonde hair at the bottom of the box... I was almost HALF WAY through my food.. Check your order and be prepared for leaking bags on your lap and in your car. We have gone to Kojis for a while. Things seem to have gone somewhat downhill lately. We go at least 3 times a month spending an average of $40 a shot. The last few times the drive through screwed up our order and by the time we realized it (at home) we were not going back. Also, I cannot remember a single time there was no liquid in the bags. This likely happens because we order our meals without rice. (I live in Nashville) The lady also said I could email a picture of the hair in the food as well. And I just did not feel that was necessary, because the hair was a super light color that probably wouldn't even show up on the actual image. So I never emailed. All I wanted was a replacement order ( without all the hassle) as I stated on the phone. But I just rather leave an honest review and take the $15 loss on my food. Tragic, even for fast food. Japanese food it is not. I received a plethora of stewed carrots with my order. They were utterly disgusting and soft, and there were lots of them. I'm sure they would make a fitting meal for a baby. The meat is overcooked and stringy. The flavor is more generic than chicken flavored crackers. The broccoli tasted the way old dishwater smells. I don't dine at fast food joints for the atmosphere, but the the multiple large brown stains on the ceiling and the chipped paint certainly didn't sell "clean" or "fresh" place to dine. A new Koji Express opened nearby and based on my daughter's rave reviews of this chain decided to try them out. Had the Hibachi Steak w/Mushrooms and fried rice. Overall the meal was well prepared, the rice was tasty, the steak was slightly overcooked (for my tastes I am a medium kind of guy...will ask next time) but the flavor was good. If you are a Yum Yum Sauce lover they give you enough to drown your meal...LOL Not seeing anything major distinguishing them from other chain Chinese/Asian restaurants...but they are good for a quick well prepared meal. Koji Express is an excellent hibachi restaurant. We have had the chicken, shrimp, and steak all were cook and tasted very good, the rice is good as well. Now the carrots on the other hand are a delicacy on its own. Super sweet and alway cook perfectly. The carrots are sweet enough to be a dessert. I like Koji's. Glad they opened another one because taking Memorial/Broad intersection to their other location is horrible. Food is overall good, but their fried rice is really salty due to the amount of soy sauce used. I haven't actually ate inside and only done take away. So all the sauce pools at the bottom of the rice. I would recommend getting steamed rice if you are doing take away cause you're going to drown your food in Koji sauce anyway. Am I right? The interior is clean and has plenty of seating area. I did not use their wash room so I cannot comment. Food is a little pricey if you do a combination meal, but they seriously give you a lot of food that you can make two meals out of. None of their meals include a drink though. read more
