None of this worked for me as I was trying to surprise my wife for her birthday and I needed this project done in 2 weeks. I'm so lucky to have found Tim as he made time to meet with me immediately, worked with me on customizing the design and in 2 weeks he made it happen!! The ring had been appraised at several places over the years, both in Illinois, and in California. I came back at the appointed time and saw three small little red jewels on a work table. He said my ring wasn't ready and to come back. I came back paid for the ring repair and put the ring away. Sometime after I brought the ring to be appraised by a reputable jeweler for a sale. The jeweler tested it and said there were not real rubies in the ring. He was the only person who touched the ring at the only place it was out of my sight. Every bone in my body said that he was a crook, but I was too shy in those days to confront him. I would swear to this under oath.

After seeing a positive post on a neighborhood site, I decided to try Ross Goldsmith out. What a positive experience - in the quality of their work and the price. I took my diamond and Ceylon sapphire tennis bracelet to Ross Goldsmith today because a link broke. I met Stephan Gunning who is an award-winning Master Goldsmith - something I learned as we were talking. I appreciated his knowledge, his easy and friendly personality, and that he was not trying to gouge me on the price. Even better, he had just finished another project, had some time, and he was able to fix the link in about 30 minutes! He asked if I had some time and he could fix it right then. He needed about 30 minutes or so, so I walked over to the Mexican Restaurant two doors down, enjoyed a couple of shrimp tacos and a margarita, and returned about 30 minutes later as he was wrapping up my job. I also asked him to inspect the bracelet to let me know if any of the other links were failing. He pointed out at least 4 (the bracelet is over 30 years old) fragile links, and we agreed that if and as they fail, I could bring it back. Fortunately, there is not a risk of losing the bracelet if another link fails. The job cost only cost $50 - reasonable and fair for what needed to be done. I was given an estimate of $150 from a jewelry repair in Mill Valley, which I knew was ridiculous for what needed to be done - and I am not even a jeweler. I would not have gotten one link fixed for that price, so I am relieved Stephan was there to save the day! I appreciated Stephan's honesty and workmanship. He told me that he and his wife bought it from the previous owner who was retiring (he had already worked there for seven years prior) and she was as delightful as Stephan.
