Got harassed while trying to eat here. Didn't feel safe and left immediately. Thankfully my order wasn't put in yet cause their card machine was broken. Employees did nothing to help. Recommend just ordering online and picking up. Paper menu in the restaurant has no prices listed either.

Chicken Egwusi Soup & Fufu (contains a little bit of crayfish flavor)

Soo so good ! And everything was fresh, the owner was so nice and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

This is only the second time I've had African food and jollof rice. I wasn't too hungry so I just got the Jollof rice plate with oxtail and kale. I loved the flavor of it so much, I almost licked my plate clean! It tasted different from the other time I had this dish, which had more of a tomato flavor. Kojo kojo makes their jollof rice super peppery and more on the savory side and I honestly prefer this taste over the tomato taste. Next time I'm in the area and craving African food, I'll be sure to try other dishes on the menu!

Plantains. Not oily at all, perfectly made.

THIS PLACE. came for the the Fufu and Egusi, left with so much more. First , they make homemade soursop seamoss drink that is heavenly. The fufu is perfectly made, light and fluffy , wrapped in a beautiful leaf ( banana leaf ? I'm not sure) love that it wasn't wrapped in plastic. The egusi soup is perfect. Can have it vegan or with any meat / fish of your choice. Loved the okra stew as well. The plantains are perfect. He only uses olive oil, and everything is very mindful. They have Amapiano playing when you walk in , so we were dancing while he made our food. Thank you !! Will be coming back A LOT.

This is what we thought we got but...this is not what we got at all.

*update: While I appreciate the owner reaching out via review response I have to politely decline the invitation to come back and try them out again. We spent almost $80 and got hardly any meat, cold food, burnt ends of fish...all provided in the photos. No refund was issues. No kind of credit was offered. Do I want to go and waste another $80? No. Not in this economy. I understand the bank issue but that doesn't address the lack of quality in the food being served. I can't recommend this spot, at all.

The jollof rice among the other popular items here are very good, good seasoning and good overall taste. Every time I come here I ordered a big platter or multiple plates. Definitely recommend

First time trying Nigerian food and wow the food is good. It took me some time to get used to the texture of the fufu but I got it. From pulling a piece of fufu to dipping it into the soup and swallowing it whole, is such an interesting experience. Blessed to try foods from different cultures. We ordered both Egusi and Ox tail soup, and they were hot and flavorful. The meat is tender and cooked perfectly. Ahhh the meat just falls off the bone. Not much space to dine but great for take out and bring home to eat!

Drove here from Palo Alto with some friends, and it totally lived up to the hype! The owner greeted us when we entered and explained that they had changed their name from Jolly Jolly, which is what I had saved on my phone before. We all tried Jollof Rice for the first time, and each chose different meats on it. The chicken, goat, and fish were all great, and the Jollof Rice was incredibly flavorful! There were other fruits and veggies mixed in, the plantains were great. It was a generous portion that I was just able to finish. FYI the water was free! The restaurant is small but has indoor and outdoor seating. While we ate, they were playing African music, which was a total vibe. I even ended up adding some songs to my Spotify! The owner was super nice and was happy to answer our questions about the difference between Ghanaian and Nigerian Jollof. I will 100% be coming back here to try Fufu!

Ask the Community - Kojokojo Fusion

Is the Egusi soup witn no meat and no fish vegan?

The egwusi is non-vegan soup that also contains a little bit of crayfish flavor.

Regarding food allergies, do you use peanut or cashew in your dishes?

Not at all. We do not use cashew nuts or peanuts in almost all our dishes. However, there is an exception that is our aboki chicken suya. The suya contains peanut and other local spices.

The vibe is great, and the food definitely delivers on flavor. We tried quite a bit--the first Friday taco, chicken sandwiches, Mexican hot dog, and asada tacos--and everything was honestly amazing. It was so good that we came back the next day before leaving town just to have it again. Service was about an 8/10. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was due to one moment that didn't sit right with me. I watched a waitress bring out fries to a guest, the guest started eating them, and then she came back to say it was a mistake and took them away after he was already halfway through. That just didn't feel very service-oriented. In a situation like that, it would have been better to acknowledge the mistake and let the guest keep the fries on the house. Taking back half-eaten food felt like poor judgment. That said, the overall experience was still very positive. Great atmosphere, great flavors, and definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out if you're in the area.

I ordered the sando and fries combo and enjoyed them at the picnic tables nearby. 5/5 Chicken sandwich I'm no fried chicken connoisseur, but I really enjoyed this sandwich. My mild fried chicken sandwich was crispy and savory with a hint of sweetness. The coleslaw was a creamy tangy addition that paired well with the sandwich. It's nice they offer various spicy levels; the mild is flavorful without burning off your taste buds. 4/5 Fries were nicely spiced with cajun-esque flavors. Not spicy at all. They included a mysterious (aioli?) sauce that went well with the fries. Fries were crispy though without the pillowy insides I crave. The portion was huge, quite shareable. I also tried a few bites of the thick gravy seafood etouffee. Other folks in my party were impressed with the flavor and generally liked it, but I didn't care too much for it. You might enjoy it if you, too, enjoy curry-type food. I don't often eat fried or hot chicken, but I consider this to be one of the better spots locally.

Casual southern spot for fried chicken sandwiches. Don't be afraid to turn up the heat!…read more The menu offers flavorful versions of southern comfort foods. We ordered a chicken sando, the chicken and waffles, and a couple sides -- the greens and etouffee. The sandwich was the clear highlight: moist chicken thigh with a breaded crunch, covered by a thin layer of mayo coleslaw. The light, sweet crunch of the cabbage and carrots gave balance to the dark meat. The waffles were crispy but just soft enough you could wrap them around the chicken to make a sweet sandwich out of that dish too. The server was very friendly when we came. I expressed curiosity about the different heat levels, and he shared nuggets batter d in the medium and hot sauces. He shared our excitement at trying the hot stuff! For the record, the medium is hotter than your typical spicy chicken sandwich and probably a safe go-to. The hot level just cracks "painful" but not unmanageably so -- might be fun as a treat. TBH I was pleasantly surprised by how much flavor each sauce packed -- and how different they were. The medium is especially sweet. Go for the sando. Crank up the heat. It doesn't miss.

Quality/Quantity - You have been on my list to visit since you opened. I drink your beers in most (if not all) the local Korean Restaurants in the Bay. And at some non Korean restaurants. Today I enjoyed your Chuseok Porter, well a few of them... This by far was my favorite of all the beers I drank and tasted here. Also tasted the following: Dokkaebi IPA - Light and refreshing. Lemongrass Witbier - I can almost taste the lemongrass, another light and refreshing beer. K-Beer - Again, another light and refreshing beer. My daughter had the Calamansi & Tea Lager - This actually had more flavor then all the beers I drank except my porter. Lastly, my daughter noticed the Hazy IPA, Hazy Seoul. But I could not/did not want to drink any more. I guess I might have to rush over again before they close.
