A group of 7 of us went to Osha for lunch on Tuesday and I enjoyed our visit. You have the option to order at the counter or scan the QR codes at the tables to order, which makes it convenient for separate orders. I ordered at the counter and asked the employee what his favorite item is. He suggested the Osha Tom Yum Noodle, which I decided to go with since it was a cooler day. The rest of our group ordered an assortment of things, including the crab rangoons, chicken lettuce wraps, pad thai, country chicken, and Thai tea. There was a bit of a delay with one order of the country chicken, which was a little awkward for one of our group having to wait while the rest of us started eating. My Osha Noodle was yummy, but I thought on the pricier side for the portion size (and compared to others' orders). However, my dish did include 4 different proteins, so that could explain the higher price. All in all, the food was tasty and I'm glad we had a convenient lunch spot to stop by during our work trip. read more

I arrived around 1:30 to dine in and was told that they would be closing at 2 so I had to order take out. I ordered papaya salad, chicken pad Thai and a Thai tea. Papaya salad (medium spicy) I've had other versions like at chai Thai noodles and I can say this one did not impress me. It was too sweet and didn't expect that. 1-5 I would rate it a 2 Chicken Pad Thai salad was okay, again I think it didn't impress me compared to trying chai Thai noodles. 1-5 I would rate it a 3. Thai tea, was great it had hints of coconut milk which is different to others that I tried and I think it's about preference. 1-5 I would rate it at 4.5, due to how sugary it was for my preference. I decided to order delivery from Osha Thai and was impressed by the quickness in how fast my food arrived. I can't speak for the service, but I've been told it's a local gem that everyone loves. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side with a few seats inside if you do choose to eat in. I decided to get the tom yum soup with medium sized noodles and chicken. The soup base is a combination of spicy, sweet from the coconut milk base and salty. The noodles in medium thickness were both the right quantity and paired perfectly in the soup. The chicken pieces were tender and so good. I also tried the crab rangoons, which were big and completely filled with the crab meat. They were also nicely fried and did not feel oily at all. When eaten with the sweet dipping sauce, each bite was packed with a punch of deliciousness. Lastly, the cucumber salad added a refreshing bite to even out the heaviness of the meal. The dressing is more on the sweet side, but it tastes wonderful with the veggies. Overall, I plan to come back and enjoy more of the menu! read more

Way overpriced $24 total for beef noodle soup and if you order this make sure you ask for MEDIUM size rice noodles. They changed the noodles they use in this soup and their version of "small rice noodles" are angel hair which are paper thin, which won't hold any ingredients at all. I have been here many times and the food is always basic at best. Why do I keep coming back? Because it's literally in the building I live in and convenience is huge. My sister gifted me $25 when I was sick to get some soup. I forgot to get the soup so I decided to use that doordash tonight. I got the barbecue beef with rice and papaya salad. I ordered it online and like I said I live in the building, so literally 2 minutes away. When I picked it up it was cold. Why? Then when I opened the box I realized it's because the meat is paper thin. Is it meat?? Definitely doesn't look like the picture. If I had to pay $25 for this, I would be pissed, for sure. I'm grateful that my sister was the one who paid for this and I will never let her know I ordered this..we'll call it a meal. Came here for lunch and got the spicy basil with fried egg and beef. It was flavorful, tasty and comforting. I don't have any issues with the food, it just doesn't stand out for. It is also a bit more on the pricier side and ended up being about 22 dollars after tip. The staff were really nice and accommodating and overall I appreciated the vibes. I love Thai food and OSHA has been a goto for me and family. But we used to cross the bridge to San Francisco. I'm glad they opened a restaurant here in Oakland. A block an away from Grand Ave near Christ the Light Cathedral and Lake Merritt, this was a surprise and I usually ordered my beef pad thai. I haven't had pad thai in a while to this pretty satisfied my craving. The restaurant is clean. The service is great. The menu was easy to follow. Overall would come by here again. OSHA just opened an express branch in Uptown Oakland on 23rd Street. We ordered the pad Thai, crab fried rice, bbq pork salad and the mango sticky rice and sat outside in the lovely heated parklet area out front. All the dishes were delicious. The fried rice was light and not at all greasy. The pad Thai was excellent and it's a dish that I am familiar with - the noodles were just right and the sauce was not overly sweet. The portion of sticky rice was so generous and delicious. I mean, for me to have leftovers on yummy sticky rice means there had to be plenty of it. Our server was very attentive and accommodating of our requests for additional items. The food came out very fast and dessert came right as we finished the mains. We live near OSHA Thai Express and always see our neighbors getting takeout from there. We were finally in the mood for Thai food the other day and decided to try it out! There is indoor seating but most people get takeout. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but not unusual for Oakland. Our four dishes were $70 total with tip, but we had a lot of leftovers. The food was delicious and we had a great experience overall! We ordered crab Rangoon, Angela wings, pad Thai, and crab fried rice. The food was hot when we picked it up and not watery. The crab Rangoon was fried to perfection and the filling was DELICIOUS. Lots of cream cheese! But I'm a bit biased as I just like all the cheese. I don't know if I really care about the crab tbh. The pad Thai was also flavorful, and I always like adding the lime to mine. The crab fried rice did have crab and was also delicious. It wasn't dry like some other places. The angel wings were juicy and well tossed, although my partner definitely likes the barbecue-y taste of angel wings more than me. She ate all 12 and then more fried rice, so I'd say that's a hit in my book. We will definitely be back! read more

Great to have Osha Thai available out of a small storefront in uptown Oakland where we've needed more lunch options. Same excellent quality as their parent restaurant but just fewer choices. The crispy vegetarian rolls were not greasy and came with their sweet and sour dipping sauce. The pad thai with tofu was flavorful with fresh bean sprouts and shredded carrots, and their beef and chicken versions of pad see ew noodles were both on point in terms of noodle texture and flavors. The green papaya salad had a good spicy kick that you can adjust but was a bit too soupy, while the cucumber salad included crisp vegetables with the vinegar-based dressing. The price point is on the higher side for lunch. Service was friendly and you can also eat inside or outside, but it seemed like it is mainly for takeout. Overall, I'm looking forward to coming here often at the lunch hour. read more

I've been to the SF location before, so was happy to try the new Oakland spot. The inside is bright and colorful with fun murals and artwork. I was able to park around the block on the side street at a meter spot. The staff was friendly and helpful when ordering. I ordered the bbq beef ($22) for dine-in. It was ready in about 12 minutes. There are a few tables inside and an outside seating parklet area. The meal comes with steamed rice and a papaya salad. The meat serving size was decent and had great flavor but the papaya salad was oddly enough my favorite part of the meal. Super fresh with a nice blend of spicy and sweet. It's certainly on the high end price-wise for Thai, but the food quality reflects that. read more

Not often you get to find a decent Thai boat here in Oakland but I was pretty satisfied ordered fried chicken and fried rice plate to go for my little one and she's prolly gonna enjoy I don't see any future disappointments. I was really excited that Osha opened a location in Oakland, as I used to love going to Osha Express and all the other Osha locations in SF, back when I was in the office! I loved being able to get a $10-15 lunch, that was extremely filling! Things we ordered: -BBQ Ribs - this came out as a giant dish, with a total of 4 ribs, which would be fine, except it was $22! -Red curry with prawns - pretty good curry, except at +$5 for prawns, I would have expected a little more than 4 of them. -Samosas - these were good. So the food was good, but the price was ridiculous to me, for a quick lunch option. Also, the place was not clean. We came in at 1pm, and there was only one other party that was seated inside, however, there were several tables with dirty dishes, and the ones that didn't have dirty dishes were still rather dirty and we had to ask someone to clean it. Overall, the food is fine, but completely overpriced. There are plenty of great Thai places in Oakland, and given the price to food ratio, this won't be a go to. read more

Expensive and not very good! I eat Thai food often and was really disappointed with Osha. We ordered them via Uber Eats. $65 for two entrees. The Ga Pro chicken said that it was minced chicken but that was not the cause. It was sliced chicken and not that tasty. We also had BBQ which was okay but not great. They also charged us $5 more as they said that we requested a larger portion which we did not. I won't go there again. Not terrible but I can find better Thai restaurants. read more

The place is like a fast food place where you order your food and prepare the table yourself. Anything you want, just go up and basically grab it yourself. Food was decent as it will stop your cravings for a thai food but not enough to "let's go here" when you don't know where to eat. read more

Decent prices for the Bay Area Thai food. $8 Tom yum soup! $17 curry with hefty rice included, can upgrade to sticky brown rice or fried rice for no extra charge. I have been away from Oakland business district for many years. So I an surprised with this tiny Thai restaurant. I have been here a couple of times and ordered different items from the menu. I must say they haven't disappointed my tastebuds. Perfect blend of spice and ingredients. Fresh and perfectly prepared dishes. Good size servings and surprisingly efficient staff and courteous service. Clean and respectable ambiance for lunch crowd. This one can rival the Original Osha in SF. Owners pls don't change a thing.
