We tried two, check my photos. Absolutely delicious! Kale ceasar salad is perfect, the kale is in the dressing! Romaine, mixed greens, tomatoes & croutons are perfect combo for their pizza! Cashier named Coral is amazing! She handled orders and the register flow like an expert. She was kind and super efficient! Tables inside & outside they will bring your pizza to your table if you dine in. 1st time customers, do a Yelp review and get a cookie. Clean bathrooms always appreciated! Pizza modifications can only be ordered before 3pm. After that its whole pies only. They are pricey but well worth it!
A long wait for our pies but worth it. We came in on a Friday night and although the dine-in area was not crowded there tons of pick up orders. We ordered the pepperoni and the Ellen Supreme. The pepperoni was a winner in my 14 year old's book and us parents loved the different flavors of the Ellen. Would definitely come back if we were in the area.

Great little spot close to the downtown Mariott and Oakland convention center. Split a house salad and pepperoni pizza with my friend and it was all very tasty and worth coming back for or at least going to another location. Joseph was also very pleasant to speak with and gave good customer service. Def recommend !

Staff: really nice and they greeted us right away. Super friendly and attentive Dining Area: clean and you could tell they cleaned up after patrons. We sat to drink a beer and I appreciated that the tables were clean. Food: although it could be a bit pricey the food is solid, hot and really good flavor. We always get the Brussels and wings. The beer was also really good so you could tell they keep the tap lines clean. Such a good treat, whenever we get a chance to pop into this store.

They are pretty good for sure. I used to LOVE pizza in my younger days (Still do, but can't eat it as much these days). My Goto pizza was also Round Table, or Unos, when Unos was grand...This pizza does the job with its Old School cafeteria square pizza style. It's square with buttery goodness all around the edges...it's got the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, but the bread is pretty thick not to be considered deep dish. I've been several times and always get the Pepperoni pizza...I wish I could add pineapple when ordering ahead, and less bread but they don't allow additions beyond the online menu. I'd recommend anyone give them a try if you haven't already.
My sister was raving about the SPG Detroit style pizzas and that I should give it a try. I found out that there was location at 9th and Washington in Old Oakland. I used to work a couple blocks away and since retiring, I haven't been to this area in a while and remember dining at this location that SPG is located now. I ordered The Big Von, which has white sauce, sausage, pepperoni and hot honey. First time trying this pizza style, which is rectangular in shape and it's thick crusted like focaccia and it is light and airy. It was tasty and first time I had hot honey on a pizza. Two weeks later, I ordered the Ellen Supreme, which has vodka sauce, pepperoni, sausage, grilled red onions, marinated red peppers and mushrooms and Mush-O-Roni, which has red sauce, mushrooms, pepperoni, hot honey, and grana cheese. Both were delicious but like the mush-o-roni as little more. Must be that hot honey. Both orders were via the app, which was easy. Notification that pizzas were ready right before designated pickup time. Workers were friendly. Those who wish to dine-in, there were inside and outside tables. Parking is street parking and it could be challenging based on time of day.

The customer service was great upon arrival. I was greeted the second I walked in. The place was clean and the vibes were good here. Ordered 2 pizzas, bread sticks and a cookie (all shareable items). Was out in The Town for Free First Sunday at OMCA & The Teen and I both were (low key) as she said craving pizza. Since I was driving, I asked her to look up some local places and she scrolled upon Square Pie Guys, read the ratings, so it was ago. We found a parking spot right in front and walk through the double doors. I don't remember if we were greeted or not, but that's OK, because the pizza was better than the person who took our order. We: A pepperoni She: Organic lemonade Me: Root-beer We were both able to get through one slice and a couple bites of the second slice, so the rest came home with us. Pizza was really good. I loved the crunchiness around the edges, and the ingredients were fresh, just like Dougie! Ambience was super chill, as we were the only customers in there, a couple drivers came to pick up delivery items and then two other patrons came in when we were heading out. I might hit them up next time I'm in the area if I'm craving pizza, despite of being a little pricey.! Overall, I'm giving this place 4 thumbs up for the pizza cause I'm in L7 too! read more

WHEN: Sun @Noon After wandering around Old Oakland, we knew the perfect spot for lunch: Pizza at Square Pie Guys. I love this place and discovered them early Pandemic but my problem is that it's a 2-person process for pick up because the location has no parking. But today was different because we walked on over to the area via Water Shuttle! I've never dined in before, and thanks to a deal via DoorDash, I got $10 off my pizza! We went for the: MUSH-O-RONI - $24 Red sauce, mushrooms, pepperoni, mikes hot honey, grana, parsley. You get 4 thick and hearty slices and it was so good as I remember! Crust was perfectly chewy and crispy and gooey with all the right toppings. Just one and a half fills us each! There's a water station you can self serve for some, and be sure to Wait your own tables AND tip when you order before sitting down! Oh and if you don't want to interact with a stag member, there's a code on the table you can scan and order online. read more

We stopped by Square Pizza and wow. My goodness, it did not disappoint! We ordered the Mush-O-Roni pizza and buffalo wings, and both were amazing. The wings were honestly the best I've ever had perfectly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The pizza was delicious too, though I do wish the sauce was a little thicker and a bit more seasoned. Still, the flavors came together really well, and we absolutely loved it overall. The service was impeccable: friendly, attentive, and fast. I've been back to Square Pie Guys so many times, and this time we ordered takeout on a lazy night. As always, the pizza didn't disappoint, but the sides really stood out. We got the hot honey chicken (my favorite), and it was just as good as I remembered. The garlic fries were especially good this time, still flavorful but a bit less heavy on the garlic, which I actually preferred. The Brussels sprouts are a must-order for us every time, super crispy and packed with flavor. We also tried a salad for the first time, and it was better than expected. The house sauce really made it come together. Definitely one of our go-to spots when we don't feel like cooking! read more

It's a detroit style pizza in the heart of Oakland. We had the Ellen Supreme and the JLin. The JLin was really good as the green goddess sauce made the pizza really special. The Ellen Supreme is your typical meat lovers pie. I did really enjoy the crust though since it's crunchy yet the pizza stays soft and fluffy. The only downside is it's quite pricey. read more

Office ordered pizza delivery for lunch. Arrived hot. Detroit style pizzas are definitely not the school cafeteria square pizzas you ate growing up! They come 4 slices a pie, and are more doughy and hefty (website says 566 calories per slice!) Tried the hawaiian and vegetarian. Surprisingly the Hawaiian had jalapeno pepper (not sure if intentionally or fell in). Gluten free dough is available. Solid local chain, worth checking out the Old Oakland or OG location in SF. read more

I was totally lured back to Square Pie Guys by the P. Lo Pie. These folks just get better and better. The staff are very respectful, the space is nice and open and the pizza is terrific. No- you can't alter anything. Take it as it is or don't order it 😂 you can't even add a mushroom, an onion, or an olive. If you want to add anything you have to build your own and spend 50$ for a pizza with four slices.

Yes I asked as my wife is GF. They use separate pans, cutters and even a separate mixer for the GF dough.
