Lively vibes combined with freshness Different twist to their nachos with fresh and creamy cheeses in top that compliment with protein of choice. We had the beef and it was sweet, savory, and tender. The street tacos were equally good. Great portion size. Will definitely return.

This is an order before you sit down kinda place. I ordered the Xingones Nachos with ground beef and it was fresh and delicious. The chips were fried fresh, and the ground beef was quality. I was hesitant to order ground beef nachos but it was great tasting & well made. I got full but couldn't stop eating them. I ordered a drink and nachos. The drink came out promptly and was simple but well constructed. Service was good and with care. It's mostly high top seating with seating at the bar as well, & maybe 1-2 half circles with comfy pillows. Parking is tough, plan to either circle or park a few blocks away. And remember is this bip city so I recommend Ubering.

Delicious delicious delicious! A TON of fried chicken with waffles. Shrimp Caesar salad and a first Friday taco

I thought the restaurant was waaay too pretty and new to have good food - dang it's really delicious. Fried chicken is actually salted properly and perfectly crunchy. Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was bomb with blackening seasoning. But my favorite was the first Friday taco!!!! it's so filling with the fried chicken and the slaw was bomb with orange salsa. Dont walk. Run. Horchata was also delicious

Where else can you satisfy your craving for a fried chicken sandwich and a burrito at the same time? My fiancé and I have now gone here twice and split this combo (asada burrito and fried chicken sando) and it has hit each time, they're both fire. I was shocked that they do both of these well! Also a good spot for watching games. Not usually too crowded.

I love when I can rely heavily on a Yelp post to guide me to a place of authenticity. I was hungry and wanted place with something that offered a drink. I immediately logged into Yelp to discover this Cantina. It had a variety of options for me to choose from and a beautiful drink. It was an instant yes for me. The moment I entered I was greeted by a very kind server. He even commented on my green sweatsuit. The experience itself was amazing. The location is perfect on a beautiful day and the setting was just what I needed for a nice early afternoon bite. I would rate this place and food a 10/10. Definitely will be back again!

Great place to watch sports. Friendly and fast service. Had a great carnitas burrito bowl.

This is such a cute little quick service spot in Oakland. It was a little confusing at first as the lady at the front told us we could sit wherever but didn't mention we needed to go up and order at the register so we sat for a bit before realizing that. I got the Xingones nachos and 2 tacos. The food was delicious! The mango passion fruit agua fresca was also really tasty! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious. They've got good prices and the service is always really nice too! The restaurant is small but has a lot of space and clean restrooms.

We don't live in Oakland, but we go to a lot of shows at the Fox, and every time we're in the city we go to Xingones! We've been going here since their old location that they shared with a bar, and we are so happy for them that they have expanded to a new location! The tacos and wings are our go to, I love the pollo tacos, nachos and burritos. There is a spicy sauce for the wings that is delicious. The service is friendly and the place is lively. They love sports here and have all the games on the TVs. They also make a great cocktail and michelada. We like to sit at the bar and chat with the bartender, we have always felt very welcomed here, great spot!

I was visiting the area to spend time with family and didn't know many spots, but I'm really glad I came across Xingones Cantina. The vibe is great, and the food definitely delivers on flavor. We tried quite a bit--the first Friday taco, chicken sandwiches, Mexican hot dog, and asada tacos--and everything was honestly amazing. It was so good that we came back the next day before leaving town just to have it again. Service was about an 8/10. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was due to one moment that didn't sit right with me. I watched a waitress bring out fries to a guest, the guest started eating them, and then she came back to say it was a mistake and took them away after he was already halfway through. That just didn't feel very service-oriented. In a situation like that, it would have been better to acknowledge the mistake and let the guest keep the fries on the house. Taking back half-eaten food felt like poor judgment. That said, the overall experience was still very positive. Great atmosphere, great flavors, and definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out if you're in the area.

Xingones has a good selection of comfort food and a nice space to hangout for a lunch or dinner while unwinding from the day. I've had the tacos, a burrito, and most recently the nachos, which have all been pretty good. Between a few people, everyone should be able to find something they want to eat on the menu. The service is usually pretty good too, there have been a few mishaps but they usually do their best to make it right. My favorite part: The green tomatillo salsa is fire.

Great food, beautiful restaurant. Always good service, I've been here twice so far. Found them on yelp and the reviews were true this place is super good. I recommend the burritos, but I've also tried the chicken and waffles 10/10 Will be back to try the drinks Such a beautiful atmosphere

I've heard great things about the wings here at Xingones so I finally made some time to try it out for myself! Xingones offers fast casual dining and also has a bar. We opted for dine-in so we ordered at the front, took our number, and seated ourselves. Their decor is very vibrant yet feels cozy with how it's set up. There are some high top tables, couch seats, and normal tables. On the back wall, you'll see their logo, a great photo-op if you come with friends! This restaurant would be great for large gatherings as well. I'm not sure if they were understaffed when I was there, but it took a few minutes for someone to come take our order at the front. Once we ordered, we grabbed some water at the self-serve station and waited for about ten minutes. The food came out pretty quick! Our Xingones Nachos came out first, I was very excited to try the Picadillo on the nachos. It's one of my childhood favorites! The nachos were $14 and it came with a pretty decent serving, definitely enough for two people. It was topped with picadillo (stir fried ground beef and veggies), cotija cheese, sour cream, cilantro, onion, and had red salsa on the side. I'm not sure what kind of salsa it was, but it was pretty bland and rather oily. It did offer a nice contrast and character to the richness of the nachos which was nice. The nachos were plentiful, but rather than the toppings being layers between the chips, it was just smacked on top. So, once we got through the top layer of chips/topping we were left with a bunch of plain chips. The chips itself were very crispy and not too oily. For the wings, we got a Large (12 pieces) with two flavors (citrus hot and spicy Korean) which came with two ranch cups, carrots, and celery for $23. You could pay a few extra bucks for all flats or all drums but we like a nice variety. For me, the star of the wing platter was the ranch-- I really enjoyed how much dill they used in it! The wings were obviously fried, but were not crunchy at all and the meat was pretty dry and didn't have much flavor soaked into the meat itself even though the sauce was evenly coated. It also didn't feel like the wings were fried to order, but I could be wrong. Thankfully, the citrus hot sauce made the wings somewhat enjoyable. It was bright, flavorful, and seasoned well. The hot korean sauce was too one-note for me. The spice levels were both very mild, but that's okay! I am truly hoping it was just an off day for Xingones, as many of my friends have told me they come here just for the wings. Since it's down the road from me, I'll definitely come back to see what the rest of their menu has to offer.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. Reason why I'd give 3 stars instead of 5 is because 1) almost $5 for one tiny taco is already absurd, and 2) half of the time they charge me for super taco prices just so i can go home and find out they gave me regular tacos - NO cheese, NO guac, NO sour cream. I even asked the dude on the phone how many bags of chips they give for my order so i know if I need to order more, he literally said two bags of chips, and end up giving me just one bag for a total of 4 "super" tacos and one "super" burrito. We are in search of a Baja fish taco that is satisfying since both of the places we loved either closed or stopped serving the baja style. We went to Mersea earlier for the views and to check out TI and it was uninspiring so we rambled back to the east bay and decided to try Mercado. Reviews looked good (thanks y'all, I appreciate you) and despite a few misses on the baja taco (according to some reviews) we decided to take a run at it. The man was feeling jaded after the am stop and wasn't going for the fish, I stayed neutral...no one wants their little taco loving heart broken twice in one day...ultimately, he decided to try the fish taco plate with 1 baja and one grilled. I had the poblano mole tacos w/chicken. We shared the guacamole with chips. I had cafe de olla (it is called something else here) and he had the mocktail with the ginger beer. The ordering at the counter wasn't my favorite but the spot was pretty quiet for a Friday midday and the service was still exceptional. They were attentive and responsive. I would definitely go back at the same time cuz I don't like crowds. On to the food. Dayum! Everything was good. Well seasoned, beautifully plated, and sufficient serving size. I pigged out. For real...I waddled out of that joint. Brought every drop of the leftovers home so I could have the chocolate custard (DAYUM) for dessert with the remnants of my coffee. Him: he preferred the baja style to the grilled fish. As some others have said, it can fall apart (really stuffed with goodness) but he didn't want his fixins on the side. VERDICT: he'll be back for that taco. Me: I enjoyed the mole but the chicken in chunks didn't work for me. I would have preferred it shredded. I'll try something else next time and there will be a next time. Oh, and the black beans and green rice were flavorful as well. Standing order: guacamole and chips Cafe Chocolate custard... What? They also have Thai iced teas/coffee/lemonade, and serve young coconuts with water. We got a bunch of appetizers to share and some entrees. We got the crispy rice pork salad, this is served with lettuce leaves and herbs and a wedge of lime. I loved this dish - the crispy rice and ground pork combination was balanced and the squeeze of lime juice made for a perfect bite wrapped in a lettuce leaf with mint and cilantro. Next was the Bird & Buffalo Chicken wings, perfectly crispy and tossed in salt and pepper. Good for folks who don't enjoy the spice. We also got the grilled pork spare ribs to share, which folks enjoyed. For entrees we had the drunken noodles with pork, green curry with rice and massaman curry with rice. I could have done with a spicier version of the green curry, but it was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, a solid spot for Thai food - we will be back to sample some of their other dishes too!
