    So much macaroni salad.
    Theresa H.

First time here and really enjoyed almost everything about it. The surrounding area is very cute. Lots of shopping and restaurant options. The Kokomo is on the smaller side you don't feel squished, there is still space to move and breathe. It feels very bright and open. I sat at the bar and first ordered the frozen flight. I don't remember the names of the 4 drinks I chose but all 4 were delicious. I decided I should probably order food too so after much debating I went with the burger. Everything looked really good. I wanted to try the Caribbean patties, the nachos, a salad or a bowl but idk I'm a burger girl so usually go with a burger. For my side I chose the macaroni salad. It was fairly busy while I was there but the food came out in a fair amount of time. The amount of macaroni salad on my plate was ridiculous to the point that I wondered if they were trying to get rid of it. It said it was also supposed to come with chips, which it did not, so I thought maybe they gave me extra because they were out of chips. The burger was ok. Nothing special or memorable. The sauce they put on it was a little too spicy for me, but I'm a baby when it comes to spice. The macaroni salad tasted bitter and sour. I took two bites and stopped eating it because it was pretty bad and didn't taste right. About an hour later I started feeling sick and did end up throwing up. I had a lot of food still left over so boxed it up and took it home. I wondered if maybe I got sick because I got over heated (it was a bit hot inside the restaurant) or who knows what else. So the next day I took a bite of the macaroni salad to try it again. Again it was gross and bitter and sour and about 30-40 min later my stomach was upset. Other than that my experience here was great. The service was perfect. The bartender was attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely come back here to try out other menu items. I'd stay away from the macaroni salad tho.

We had reservations and were seated quickly. Parker did a great explaining the menu and did an awesome job that evening. You star with some fried plantains. For the entree I got the salmon and succotash and roasted potatoes. The meal was delicious and the succotash had a little zing to it. The had some live music and we had a great experience.

Just a quick update from my first visit here a year ago, I have been here many more times and have always been pleased. One of my favorites is the chopped beach salad, so good! Sometimes I have salmon on it, the dressing is amazing. I recently tried the pavlova, oh my, what a treat. I eat gluten free and it is so wonderful to be able to enjoy a dessert and this one is stellar! The food here is really fresh and "clean", they source many things locally and cook from scratch. Give it a try, I bet you will be back again and again

Want to feel like you are at dinner on a tropical vacation?! Then you will love Kokomo Trading! My friend and I went and had some of their frozen drinks, appetizers, and then dinner! So delicious! The turkey leg is massive and could pretty much feed two people. The fish sandwich has such great flavor... I'm getting that next time I go! The staff is super attentive and nice!

Super impressed! All of the food was super tasty with great presentation. They use great ingredients and no seed oils!! Also, there are great gluten free options. The frozen drinks were the best I've had. The staff is amazing. Live music. I will definitely be back!

The duck fat fries are really addictive and truffle aioli pairs well with them. Also had a chance to try their ranch and that was tasty and did leave that sour taste like store bought ranch. We started off with the Mini Donuts with dipping sauces, and they were a huge hit! Unfortunately, I was off my game and forgot to take pictures of some of the appetizers before they disappeared. We also ordered the Spinach Dip with chips, and a definite must have, the Deviled Eggs with Candy Bacon. Wow... those were sooo good! For the entrees, I went with the Eggs Benedict with home fries, and it was perfection. Others at the table ordered the Chicken Fingers and Fries, great comfort food with amazing flavor. The fries are the thin-cut style, which makes them extra good. The granddaughters split a hamburger and absolutely loved it. The service is always great here, but this visit had a special touch. The granddaughters wanted a carrot to feed to their stuffed bunny, and the waitress actually brought one out for them! Little things like that make a big impression. Overall, a great brunch, great service, and a great experience. We'll definitely be back!

Comes with jalapeno hot sauce - don't be shy, it's more slightly tangy than spicy and it perfects the delicious deviled eggs. Appreciate that they're generous with the glazed bacon. Wife loves the little gem salad. It's a bit light for dinner; she cleans her plate. Special of fish and chips - sounded wonderful, but they were out of the fish shortly after 5:30pm - what? It must have been a carry over from the previous evening is all I can imagine. Anyway, if it's on the daily specials, order as soon as you see it! From the moment you arrive, the experience feels intentional. The dining room is light-filled and beautifully composed, with sweeping views that immerse you in the Tennessee landscape. It strikes that balance of feeling elevated while still deeply connected to its surroundings. The service is exceptional, always. Warm, lively, and highly knowledgeable without ever feeling overdone. You feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening, with a natural rhythm that allows the experience to unfold without interruption. The food is equally impressive: thoughtful, seasonal, and beautifully presented. Each dish feels considered and precise, delivering both in flavor and in composition. What makes January stand out, though, is the attention to detail. We were welcomed with a celebratory glass of champagne, and throughout the evening, small touches reinforced that this was more than just a meal, it was a moment being thoughtfully honored. There are many places that aim to create a special experience. January consistently achieves it. It's a place that feels worthy of marking something meaningful and one we'll continue to return to.

January delivers outstanding ingredients and some genuinely excellent cooking, but the service and…read moreoverall experience don't justify pricing that competes with the country's best fine dining restaurants. The dining room is attractive and fits the property's aesthetic, but like much of Southall's interior, it's dominated by hard surfaces with little sound absorption. It's noticeably louder than I'd expect from a restaurant positioned as a luxury dining destination. **The good** Ingredient quality is outstanding, and with one exception, the execution matches it. The Parker House rolls are world-class--worth ordering on their own. The roasted eggplant with chorizo and mint was the surprise of the evening, combining flavors I don't normally gravitate toward into a beautifully balanced dish. The scallops were excellent. A few dishes didn't suit my palate, but they were thoughtfully prepared and well executed--that's preference, not criticism. The wine program is another strength, with a well-curated bottle list and an excellent selection by the glass. **The experience** Service was friendly and professional but lacked the confidence and effortless polish that separates good restaurants from exceptional ones. There were no service failures; the pacing simply felt uneven, and the meal never developed the seamless rhythm you expect at this price point. **The disappointment** The Steak au Poivre. It's one of my favorite dishes, so my expectations were high. January offers three 30-day dry-aged cuts, and I chose the 22-ounce bone-in New York strip. The peppercorn sauce was nicely balanced between green and black peppercorns, and the dry aging delivered the earthy character you'd expect. The steak itself was chewy and lacked the depth of beef flavor I expect from a premium dry-aged steak. Beyond the dry-aged character, it simply wasn't memorable. The accompanying popover was slightly overdone but otherwise enjoyable. **The value** This is where January lost me. For two people--two first courses, two second courses, two entrées, four glasses of wine, sparkling water, and no dessert--the bill came to $585 before leaving an additional gratuity for our server. That total includes Southall's mandatory 23% service charge, which is applied at every food and beverage venue on the property. At each venue, the staff also explain that the service charge is shared among the team and that any additional gratuity goes directly to the server. Whether intentional or not, it creates the impression that the included service charge isn't really sufficient. It detracts from the experience. I'd rather see the restaurant fully commit to one model: either include a substantial service charge and stand behind it, or rely on traditional gratuities. I enjoy rewarding outstanding service generously, but being encouraged to tip on top of a mandatory 23% charge diminishes the hospitality you're paying premium prices to experience. **Overall** Judged on ingredients and technique alone, January earns high marks. But luxury dining is about more than food. Atmosphere, service, pacing, and the feeling that every detail has been considered are equally important. On those measures, January falls short of restaurants charging similar prices. We've enjoyed Michelin-starred meals at comparable prices that delivered a noticeably stronger overall experience. The previous evening we dined at another Franklin restaurant, ordered comparable courses and drinks plus dessert, spent roughly 40% as much, and enjoyed better food, presentation, service, and overall value. We'd happily return for a glass of wine, the Parker House rolls, and a few small plates. But I wouldn't choose January again as a destination fine dining restaurant.

The place is beautiful, but we were seated in the least interesting area. My friend said it used to be an open patio and was renovated for more indoor seating, which makes sense, but it lacked any real atmosphere. When I am spending this kind of money I want a slow, leisurly pace, and this felt rushed. Yes, we probably could have asked the waiter to slow things down, but we didn't. I ordered a specialty cocktail - the Midnight Sun that was delish - it was layered and around $16. The waiter then brought out what ended up being the highlight of the meal, a little treat from the chef. It was a creamy gnocchi dish to share, about three pieces each, super rich and honestly I could have eaten 20 more. We also spilt the bread flight. The bread was good but I wasn't a fan of the spreads, I'm a BUTTER person, these were more like bean spreads. The brussels sprouts with pork were also really good. Hubby and I split a mixed green salad that was pretty mediocre, and the croutons were almost too hard to chew. Then came the pork, which was a dissapointment. It was so tough it actually got caught in my throat a couple times despite chewing it well. We didn't even finish it. For the price, it should have been tender and full of flavor, and it was neither. My friend ordered the duck pasta and said it had "weird pieces of meat" in it. Her husband got the filet and loved it, so at least someone at the table was happy. We skipped dessert after most of us had disappointing entrees. I guess the good news is they rotate the menu every few months, so maybe it would be a totally different experience next time.

What really sets this place apart is the charming farmer's market-style vibe. Besides food, coffee and fresh-baked pastries, they offer their own delicious sourdough and focaccia loaves to go, and a very thoughtful selection of local items - like organic Amish eggs ($6/dozen - unreal price right now and I saw they reuse the cartons/place to return them - heartwarming), bone broths, small-batch sauces, and so much more.
