The service is amazing. My kiddo has a scoville aversion. They offered to make dry rub wings for her. They don't have to and what got served was perfection. The wings were juicy and perfectly seasoned. The second accommodation was the baked potato. They were able to provide a side of shredded cheese accompaniment upon request. Third accommodation was the virgin pina colada. I thoroughly enjoyed my half salad, which was plenty especially when paired with the wings app. The best part of salad were the freshness and quality of all the ingredients. Even with the way it was dressed and presented, the care and attention to detail was obvious. There's also the lobster bisque and Pavlova dessert. Loved it and it was picky-kiddo approved, especially that Pavlova which was just divine! We were very lucky to have dined with a performer player her guitar. She had a beautiful voice. Another return trip and they have definitely found their lane! Whenever I go to Kokomo's I find a way to incorporate that amazing Chopped Beach Salad. By itself of as a side, this is probably the best thing on the menu (imo) but plenty of other great items. This trip I had the Island Burger, double patty, lettuce, red onion, tomato and of course cheddar cheese. This comes with a side sooooo Chopped Beach Salad! It's a generous side serving of the salad. First time here and really enjoyed almost everything about it. The surrounding area is very cute. Lots of shopping and restaurant options. The Kokomo is on the smaller side you don't feel squished, there is still space to move and breathe. It feels very bright and open. I sat at the bar and first ordered the frozen flight. I don't remember the names of the 4 drinks I chose but all 4 were delicious. I decided I should probably order food too so after much debating I went with the burger. Everything looked really good. I wanted to try the Caribbean patties, the nachos, a salad or a bowl but idk I'm a burger girl so usually go with a burger. For my side I chose the macaroni salad. It was fairly busy while I was there but the food came out in a fair amount of time. The amount of macaroni salad on my plate was ridiculous to the point that I wondered if they were trying to get rid of it. It said it was also supposed to come with chips, which it did not, so I thought maybe they gave me extra because they were out of chips. The burger was ok. Nothing special or memorable. The sauce they put on it was a little too spicy for me, but I'm a baby when it comes to spice. The macaroni salad tasted bitter and sour. I took two bites and stopped eating it because it was pretty bad and didn't taste right. About an hour later I started feeling sick and did end up throwing up. I had a lot of food still left over so boxed it up and took it home. I wondered if maybe I got sick because I got over heated (it was a bit hot inside the restaurant) or who knows what else. So the next day I took a bite of the macaroni salad to try it again. Again it was gross and bitter and sour and about 30-40 min later my stomach was upset. Other than that my experience here was great. The service was perfect. The bartender was attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely come back here to try out other menu items. Honestly, I was excited to try this place but unfortunately I was super disappointed. When we walked in, we asked if there was other seating outside besides the front. They said no, but when we left and walked towards the back, they had a whole outside dining area in the back and there were a few tables that had separate groups sitting and eating. The food wasn't anything to rave about. Just very basic dishes with very basic flavors. The service was slow and we repeatedly had to ask for things to the point where we had to go back inside and ask because they never even came back out. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

Cute. Went with a friend who knows the owners, manager & bartender. So we were well attended to by very friendly transplanted CA folks. The food is "clean" -- organic when possible, nothing artificial, no seed oils. Even though I was happy to be eating clean, I found it not as tasty as I'd hoped. It wasn't too pricey, but I expected more. The truth for me was that before I left the place I had a not so pleasant stomach + restroom visit. I have no way of knowing if it was this food, but I'd not really eaten much all day. So I'm not 100% sure how to rate this place. One thing I'd recommend to the owners: please have the live music start at 9pm because I really, really didn't enjoy feeling like I was in a bar when all I was trying to do was have a 5:30 pm meal with a friend I'd not seen in a year. I understand the owners love live music. I get it you have a bar and that people come because of live music. I'm simply suggesting you find later, better, not prime dinner hours to do this! Decided to try something new for date night and I'm glad we did. It felt like we were on vacation at the beach. Very nice atmosphere and didn't feel like you were in Franklin. Food also tasted like you were down at the beach. the guacamole appetizer was a good start to the night. Fresh with a slight kick of spice. Then the burgers were great. Cooked perfectly with a nice house made sauce. The side chopped salad with mango pieces was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive, made you feel very welcomed. Will be back! read more

Just a quick update from my first visit here a year ago, I have been here many more times and have always been pleased. One of my favorites is the chopped beach salad, so good! Sometimes I have salmon on it, the dressing is amazing. I recently tried the pavlova, oh my, what a treat. I eat gluten free and it is so wonderful to be able to enjoy a dessert and this one is stellar! The food here is really fresh and "clean", they source many things locally and cook from scratch. Walked in-one table seated. Hostess didn't know if they had bloody Mary's and told us we had to wait for bartender to place order. Hostess was nice and went over to bartender to ask if she made bloody Mary's. She said yes. Hostess put in our drink order. We shared and order of the Caribbean patties - essentially "Jamaican-style" empanadas served with mango chutney and cilantro lime dipping sauce. Could make a dinner out to these - particularly loved the curry chicken. I had the tiger shrimp burger - very good. Served with chorizo dirty rice, a specialty worth getting. We came here on a whim on a Friday night. Got reservations on OpenTable and stopped by around 6:45pm. We sat at the bar and the waitress was very attentive. The atmosphere was fun. There was a stage setup but no music was being played. I started with a flight of frozen drinks. The Caribbean Colada and Arctic White were my favorites! We also got the island style wings and Caribbean Patties for an appetizer. We devoured those before I could remember to snap a picture! They were delicious! I also may have been a little intoxicated because the frozen drink flight is a great way to make you feel good on a Friday night! For our main meal I got the Cuban sandwich. It was okay. It had a lot of sauce on it, like Mayo and something else. I got it with the macaroni salad and it came with chips. The sides were good but I was super full from sharing two appetizers and the flight of drinks. My boyfriend got the short ribs. They were super tasty! Ok, not to be Betty Buzz Kill, but we had 2 horrible entrees here tonight. The short ribs are not the typical short ribs, theses were like thin, tough flavorless steaks. No sauce, no seasoning. The Pasta dish was just barely better. Flavorless and came out just almost warm, even though we were practically sitting in the kitchen. The service was good and anxious to please, however she didn't seem to know much about the food. If you go, reserve a booth. The tables in the back are cramped and by the kitchen. This is my second time trying this restaurant and it still disappointed. I decided to try the salmon with lemon butter this time. There was no lemon butter on the salmon, even though I asked for extra. The potatoes were dry with no flavor or seasoning (it also did not look like the picture of a review from November). When I told the waitress there was no flavor, I received a small room temp side of the thick lemon butter to pour over. It was kind of gross. I think the manager needs to be checking the food coming out of the kitchen for consistency. Also, as the manager is walking by, it be would nice to see the details taken care of. For example, we had no salt/pepper on the table and needed to visit the next table over for some. We also had no silverware/napkins until the food was served. read more

Looking at previous reviews, I figured I'd give this little spot a shot and wow am I glad I did! I made a reservation through OpenTable, and when we showed up we were greeted almost instantly by one of the owners who took us to our table outside on their back patio. The overall hospitality was amazing, and we were checked on numerous times by both the server and owner. We started off with the queso dip and it was so flavorful to the point I was ready to get one to go! For the main course I got the island burger and I have nothing but great things to say. It looks like a regular burger you can get anywhere but the juiciness and their signature sauce makes all the difference. Additionally, the potatoes I chose as a side were to die for! - It's a fairly small establishment so we opted to sit outside. The ambiance of the back patio is adorable with string lights and a little sofa/chair area next to a fire pit. They regularly have live music, so if you're into that type of vibe, this place is for you! This place was super awesome! We reserved a booth as it's a small place. Our table was ready on time. The hostess was super friendly and went overboard to make sure we were happy. The atmosphere was dark and cozy. Our table felt private. The music wasn't overbearing (no live music at the time). Our waiter was friendly and professional not creepy friendly. He was accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. We got the shrimp cups (amazing!) the lobster bisque (amazing) the frozen flight (too amazing! ) My husband got the Cuban with dirty rice.
