Meh, ok but has some short comings. Especially for the price. I had the Oxtail, cabbage, Plantains, peas and rice. Peas and rice were just rice. Not a hint of coconut milk in them. Usually get some flavor but the dish was mostly bland rice. Barely a speckle of "peas" was a couple brown spots in the entire serving Cabbage: again not much flavor, a few lima beans and red pepper dices. Looked like frozen mixed veggies Plantains: cold. Not heated enough. Seemed to be microwaved which gave them a rubbery texture. No excuse for that. Oxtail: a bit chewy which I'm not against. But had none of the customary gravy with butter beans and Jamaican aromatic spices that make it truly a Jamaican stew. Also asked for hot sauce. Was told have to pay for it. It was more like a tamarind sauce. Had some spiciness but I wouldn't call it a hot sauce. Also asked for water and was also told I had to pay for it. They have regular and large. Mine was supposed to be a large but was not very "large". The price? After the add on "hot sauce and water over $30. Felt like it was just not commensurate for the size and quality. So upon reading all the reviews and seeing photos I decided to give this place a try! And boy, am I glad I did!! Workers were also amazing. She let us sample their Jamaican punch and their Jamaican lemonade and it was so delicious! Their Jamaican punch is my JAM!!! I got the extra large and I still wanted more! I got their large oxtail with double cabbage and their spice beef patties. And when I tell you it made me jump for joy after my first bite. Ooooooweeeee! I get it's a Jamaican place but most don't jerk their oxtails from my experience. Today I wanted to try Jamaica's most revered types of soul food, Oxtail . The British used to enjoy oxtail soup with vegetables in the 17th century and brought it to Jamaica when they arrived. It has since been synonymous with Jamaican cuisine ever since. I read somewhere that Jamaican Oxtails are rich, SUPER flavorful, with fall-off-the-bone-tender meat and creamy butter beans. I don't know if that is true, but I do like trying new things. The oxtail was spicy, soft, and succulent. The cabbage was spicy and tingling with some heat. Love that! I am glad I ordered a large. First of all, the owner and staff are so nice and helpful. And I think they really care about the restaurant, the food, and the diners. This is authentic Jamaican food made by a Jamaican (who's also an Army veteran, if you care about that). When we pulled up to order, we saw him cooking on the smoker behind the restaurant. The brown stew chicken is moist and easy to pull apart. Tasty. The curry chicken is also full of spice and flavor, and not dried out or over-done. The plantains, which come with each meal, are not mushy like some other places. They are the perfect combo of sweet and firm, but not too firm. They also serve cabbage with each meal, and it's crunchy and savory, and refreshing. They also have beef and chicken pies. We had the beef pies, which are HOT, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. Please keep in mind, true Jamaican food is cooked and served on the bone. I actually find it easier to eat the meat dishes with my hands rather than utensils. Please give them a try! read more

I'm used to the authentic Jamaican restaurants where when you asked how's the food I wouldn't get a response it's okay. I brought my father with me who has never had Jamaican food and he had questions about the flavors and what things were. The lady acted very nonchalant to where I explained to her that he's never tried it. I was planning on ordering the oxtail plate and I asked for a peach cobbler for my dad because he decided he didn't want anything. I paid for the peach cobbler the lady went to the back for awhile, then another girl with locs comes out grabs food out of the frier looks at me and puts the food in her mouth and walks away to the back. I decided I didn't want anything from the establishment so I left before receiving my peach cobbler. Hopefully others will have a better experience. The Roti was not good the goat roti was old and had a burnt or some type of fowl smell to it and was not edible, wasted money for the price and owners need to be careful someone might turn them over to the health department. Have been there numerous times and had issues with them not being open on time, cashier not at work to take payments, or other issues that slow down getting food on the short lunch break you get. Another time I got there when the door opened and asked for a meat pie and was told they needed to be tossed out and they were old, which means they were likely there from the day before sitting in their heat lamp box by the register. We absolutely love the flavor and it has just the right amount of spice for us. The wait is typically around 20 minutes..which doesn't bother me because I'm getting some authentic dishes.
