It's about the bomb-dee-ga-dee! Selections is varied unique and totally worthwhile. You can order online, self-order on two stations or order from a clerk by ringing a bell. Check it out for yourself. My personal favs are the matcha yuzu tea ice, half sugar and the coconut matcha pudding which you can grab yourself from the fridge on the side.
I always stop by here when I'm tryna have cheat days on my diet! Everything tastes so good& not too overly sweet. The coconut flakes are the best part! They're a little more toasted than ones you see on other desserts so it has a little crunch to it which gives it a perfect balance of texture. The desserts is like a soft pudding type of texture. The only cons, is that sometimes they don't have all the flavors on the menu. They advise you eat them as soon as you buy them, but I've kept it my fridge for some days to enjoy later& were still good&fresh. Lol

You go into Matcha Cafe Maiko and it's inside the fridge on the left wall near the cash register. I bought the mango coconut pudding. The texture is weird at first because it's more liquidy than a creamy texture. Once you get over that texture, you'll love it. The mango fruits are bite sized and fresh. The coconut pudding is delicious and not overly sweet. I only took a star off because it was $9. The $9 price tag does not justify the cost of the mango coconut pudding.
Coo coo for coconut pudding. Kokonut Dessert Bar resides in the same storefront as Matcha Cafe Maiko and you place your order at the same place. However, you can't mix your orders with anything from Cafe Maiko so expect to pay separately. They also don't accept cash either so make sure to have your card prepared. Each order comes with a "space baggie" that includes a card, spoon, and coconut flakes. The coconut pudding flavor was consistent and strong throughout every order. You can definitely taste the coconut! Personally I enjoyed the coconut pudding on its own but if you wanted some crunch and extra sweetness, adding the flakes would help. Mango: the cubed mangoes were always super sweet and fresh. Mixed Fruit: included watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries and blueberries. Fruit was distributed through the pudding and everything tasted great. Great variety option. Taro: included actual taro. The flakes complemented the thick, mild taro by adding some sweetness. Overall I enjoy the concept and execution. The prices do vary a lot but I commend the consistently high quality of puddings. The only downside is ordering could be confusing and inconvenient for newcomers. While the menu is relatively simple, they usually run out of most flavors by the late afternoon and there's no way to gauge that since everything is hidden behind Cafe Maiko's front and the cups on display aren't reflective of what's left. Staff members have to check in the back and could lead to a back and forth several times before settling on an available option. Yes I'm coo coo for coconuts, but the set-up drives me coo coo too.

This stuff is really good for someone looking for a light refreshing dessert with not a lot of sweetness. They have several varieties of coconut jelly cups filled with different fruits. It comes with a small packet of toasted coconut flakes. It wont last long outside refrigeration so keep in mind it will go bad. I like to keep the containers and reuse them to make overnight oats or chia seed pudding.
Woot Woot!! I finally got to try Kokonut Dessert Bar!! I've been wanting to try it since they opened when I saw their pictures on Instagram. I ordered for pickup in early April. I ordered 2 Coconut Puddings. Coconut Flakes came on the side. I added some fresh organic strawberries that I purchased from the grocery store, and voila! Fruit & Dessert!! DELICIOUS!! NOM NOM NOM!!
My best friend got this for me to try knowing that I like desserts that is not too sweet, and this was just perfect! Soo good! I was out of town so I didn't get to dig in until a couple days later, but let me tell you.. it was delicious and the mixed fruits was still crunchy. I'm a fan, Kokonut!
I love the packaging of these coconut puddings! Not only is the jar cute, they pack up the jars in a white packaging with a spoon, toasted coconut flakes, and a business card. I followed google maps to the location but didn't see a Kokonut sign on a building so I thought something was wrong with the address on Yelp but then I saw a poster in front of Matcha Cafe Maiko and parked. This location is a decent side for take out or dine in desserts. There's an employee for Kokonut and another for Matcha. There was only one other person in the store who came after me. There's also plenty of parking. I wanted to try the peach gum flavor so I asked what it tasted like and they were able to give me a sample to try. After trying, I opted for their coconut pudding with red bean and taro. I like the texture. Also, it was sweet but not too sweet.

Despite the fact that the café wasn't particularly busy, I observed several other customers ordering and receiving multiple items while I continued to wait. It was quite disappointing to feel overlooked in this way, especially since I paid cash for my order and even left an additional cash tip, hoping for a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, I simply could not afford to wait any longer. I've attached a timestamp of when my order was placed to provide some context. If you're in no rush and have 50 minutes to spare for a single item, this might be your spot. However, my experience left much to be desired.

I was reading other people's reviews on how The location was hard to find and equivalent to a speakeasy or drug deal. Now it shares a storefront with Matcha Tea and the sign will not say Kokonut Dessert, but ONLY Marcha Tea. As of 9/4/20. I got two jars to try: the mixed fruit and coconut, plus the manga and coconut. The fruit is really high quality fresh fruit. The mangos must have been some of the sweetest best mangoes I have had in my life. The coconut creme is delicate and light with low sweetness. There are optional toasted coconut flakes to put on top. Each jar costs $8.50-$9.50. I can't wait to try all the flavors.
I love this place and the luscious coconut pudding flavors they have like red bean with taro, watermelon, and strawberry, I love the coconut flakes you put on top as Well, the staff is nice , and it's inside the matcha cafe in clairemont, I love this dessert cause you don't feel guilty eating it :)
My friends raved about this dessert bar, but I was a little hesitant to try something that was expensive, yet so simple to make. Kokonut Dessert Bar only offers coconut pudding, but with a variety of fresh fruit toppings. You have the option of mango, red dragonfruit, peach gum, taro, red beans, watermelon, golden kiwi, or strawberries. Since I love dragonfruit, and it is not offered in very many establishments, I decided to get that topping. It came with a packet of toasted coconut flakes, which really elevated this dessert to the next level! The coconut pudding was light, smooth, while the dragonfruit pieces were refreshing, and the coco flakes offered a nice crunch. I'm pretty sure I could eat this everyday!

Delicious hidden gem !!! Matcha was perfect, not too sweet not too bitter, just right I ordered the chocolate matcha w/oat milk and that itself earned the 10/10. The matcha bubble waffle was another 10/10! A bit of a wait (like 15 mins) but worth it !!! read more
I got the coconut pudding with black sesame which came out to $11.31 before tip. Are people seriously paying this much for 12oz of coconut pudding? The pudding was good, but I don't know if it was $11 good. I like how smooth, soft and silky it was, but it was too sweet for me and did not have enough sesame flavor. I also like the astronaut art on the jar - it is super cute. Honestly, I only tried this dessert because I did not pay for it. I definitely would not ever willingly pay $11 for this and only recommend it if you have money to spend. read more

Yummy, healthy, and clean-tasting coconut pudding desserts packaged in reusable jars gives one cause for embarking on a search for their "shop". The address might give one pause, but after ordering from their website online and receiving a pickup time, do make your way into the random industrial park. Just before the cul-de-sac, turn into the last drive-way on the right and you will shortly see their banner within view. It's not the most glamorous situation as the door with the small "Shared Kitchen Rentals" sign is indeed where they prep everything. I have a desk up the road not too far away, so the area is familiar to me, but despite this it should still not be difficult for others to find. I had the *Coconut Pudding w/ Red Bean and Taro* for $8.50. Most of their jars with fruits do range from $9-11. Not a problem for me. The dessert was refreshing with a subtle, but clean coconut flavor in its soft, gelatinous form. Very little extra sugar is added. This was very evident because even the taro and red bean portion of my dessert was low in sugar. Quite the refreshing change from the overly sweet, nearly cloying desserts one is accustomed to. The pack of toasted coconut they do provide you with (for $ now) does enhance the dessert dramatically as it not only adds a toasty flavor, but some texture as well. I experienced great service and the super sweet woman who ran out my order to me as I stood near my car was very apologetic about the ever so slight wait. I'm glad such a unique dessert option is within reach of me! read more
Kokonut Dessert Bar is hidden in the depths of some industrial warehouses south of Mira Mesa Blvd in Sorrento Valley. They are co-located with Shared Kitchen Rentals, but you can't go inside during these times so I have no idea what the space looks like. Call ahead and they will meet you outside a facility door with a copy of their menu. Prices for the coconut puddings in a jar ranged from $7.50 to $9.50. A pudding in a young, hollowed-out coconut would set you back an even $10. Of the different flavored toppings, the one which piqued my interest was the peach gum. The pudding was very light and when I mixed it with the peach gum, it reminded me of eating grass jelly with syrup. A stronger coconut taste would have enhanced the product. I guess it's why they provided a tiny packet of coconut flakes as a supplement. I do wish the serving size was larger for the price. Instead of an unusual jar size of 14.5 oz (430 mL), a full 16 oz or 500 mL would have been appropriate. It'd also be beneficial if the business could somehow operate a stand-alone booth or service window to get themselves more visibility. Overall, I gave my take-out experience a 3.5 star rating. read more
This Capsule at Cafe Maiko has it's own Yelp page? Neat. I recently started noticing that they started selling Kokonut pudding and had to try some. At $9 a pop, it better be good. While I have read and heard it isn't made fresh anymore, it still was delicious from my end. Maybe a bit on the sweet side for me, so I am inspired to try making my own with less sugar. You are offered coconut topping when you're buying these - do not skip out! I'm a texture eater, so without that contrast in texture - the pudding might have been a little to soft for my palette. Nevertheless, the coconut flavor was there. My wife did express in the Mango one, that the fruit takes over and the coconut flavor is a little less noticeable. Overall, tastes great, maybe a little too sweet for my personal opinion and at $9 a jar it's hard to enjoy too often. read more

So TASTY and REFRESHING. Not sweet -- this is probably the best dessert I've ever had simply because of the fact that not many ingredients are added to it to make it taste like something it shouldn't. If you aren't into sweet, heavy, food coma inducing desserts then this place is for you!!Add the coconut flakes and wow... different texture, and a bit sweeter so you can adjust it as you please. The pudding itself is on the softer side, not crumbly to the touch but not the most firm. If I were to compare the texture to tofu, it would be right in between soft and medium tofu. The taste is wonderful, so light, so many coconut notes that blend the whole shebang of fruits (strawberries honeydew blueberries and pears I think??) together so well. Literally perfection in a cup! Did I mention the packaging as well? Everything is super aesthetic and premium! A bit pricey on my scale at $9.5 but it is absolutely a must try. I would pay around $7 for the same cup and feel like it's worth it 100%. That being said, I would come here again and again. read more
This dessert was much better than I expected! The coconut pudding is not too sweet and depending on your topping it adds an extra sweetness. If you want more sweetness then add the sweetened coconut flakes that it comes with! The taro was surprisingly good because they use real taro and the strawberries were fresh as well. The quantity is a lot as well! I definitely recommend this place if you want a dessert that is light and fresh. One thing that kind of throws me off is the price /: I would be hesitant to come here if not for the BOGO 50% deal they had for this weekend. However it is worth a try! read more
Located in the Matcha Maiko Cafe, the coconut jellies are housed in a fridge left of the cashier. Lots of different flavor options like Peach Gum, Black Sesame, and the one I chose, Mango ($9)! I really loved how light and refreshing the coconut jelly texture was and how it paired with the freshness of the mango. Not too sweet and perfect for sharing! I can say confidently that I think I've found my new dessert addiction. 5/5 I'll definitely be coming by more often to try some more flavors soon. read more

I made an online order and it was done way before the predicted time, so I was in a rush bc I didn't want it sitting out for too long. Also I was confused by the location but apparently they moved to inside matcha cafe maiko?? As for the taste, wow this was as tasty and refreshing like everyone was saying!! I'm not a gigantic fan of coconut normally, but this was pleasant and light, especially together with the fruit. Each pudding came with a small package of coconut flakes. **coconut pudding w/ peach gum** this was delicious!! i was intrigued by what peach gum was but it just tasted really jelly like!! It had an herbal fruity taste and really reminded of grass jelly!! it was good with the coconut flakes but it was flavorful n sweet enough without it **coconut pudding w/ dragonfruit** i wish the dragonfruit was colder in this when I got it but this was still super tasty. the coconut flakes complimented this extremely well and added a lot to the flavor. They gave plenty of dragonfruit here!! I'm very curious to try it with golden kiwi next time!!! I think it would be so bomb~ read more

This Kokonut Dessert bar is located inside Matcha Cafe Maiko, which gives you a tough decision of what dessert to get because the matcha stuff also looks so good! I ordered our coconut puddings online for pick-up, but you can probably order at the counter too. When my friend first recommended this place, I wasn't super excited to try it because I do not particularly like coconut, so how good could this really be. I heard they used to have golden kiwi and dragonfruit as options for toppings, but we only saw a mixed fruit, strawberry, mango, or watermelon option. It might have just been seasonal offerings. Anyway, I ended up getting the mango coconut pudding, which was a bit pricy at $9.50 for a small jar. You only pick one fruit option for the whole jar, unless you get the mixed fruit jar. I was surprised to find that the pudding tasted very fresh, light, flavorful, and satisfying! Coconut pudding is also supposedly a guilt-free healthier dessert option with no synthetic flavorings, dyes, additives, or preservatives. After trying the pudding with strawberry, mango, and watermelon, we collectively decided that mango pairs the best with the coconut pudding. Their mango was very sweet and juicy. I was scared that it was going to be dry and sour, but that was not the case at all. Their strawberries were also very sweet! Overall, I will definitely come back again, just not often because of the steep price. read more
I'm loving these kokonut desserts. They're a healthier alternative that satisfies a sweet craving. The base is coconut pudding, which has a light and smooth texture, then topped with fruit of your choice to give an overall light sweetness. Sprinkle dried coconut flakes (included) to give added texture to each bite. I tried their Mixed Berry, Strawberry, and Peach Gum. Delicious coconut puddings with less sugar making it healthy and guilt free (well it's a dessert so comparatively) I tried the taro, peach gum and mixed fruit. This is delicious and not too sweet at all! Just how I like it. 50%sugar. I was surprised with the peach gum with added coconut pudding jar thinking it be really sweet. It was Just perfect. The mango with coconut pudding Jar is yummy as well. I want to make sure they get the credit they deserve for this unique dessert. This place is hard to find. It's located inside the Matcha dessert place. When I approached the guy at the register he had to get me another person who can take the order because it's a separate kitchen from Matcha. I thought that was weird but I assume the kokonut place doesn't have a store front yet. I recommend everyone should try it. I was pretty surprised. Bonus the packaging is cute too! read more

These coconut puddings are really good. They are located inside Matcha Cafe Maiko. I saw an ad for this and decided to go try it out. The coconut pudding with strawberry is my favorite. The coconut flavor is very subtle and not overpowering. I love how smooth light the pudding was. Just the right amount of sweetness for me. These puddings are not very sweet. If you are looking for something that is very sweet, this might not be for you. I did take a star off for the price. It is kind of expensive for what you get (~$9.50). read more

Difficult to find until you realize this place shares a store front with Matcha Cafe. We decided on ordering the coconut pudding with mango and coconut pudding with mixed fruit. Right now, they are only serving to go and they provide the pudding in a vacuum sealed bag for you to take with you. We ended up eating in the car because we couldn't wait. The mango was ripe, very sweet and delicious. The coconut pudding was just as you would expect. The mixed fruit consisted of watermelon, berries and strawberries, which were ok. The mango was really the star. Prices range from $8-$10, which was on the higher side in our opinion. Overall, very tasty! read more

I ordered the taro & red bean and they definitely do not skimp on the taro & red bean, and my boyfriend ordered the strawberry.
