I'm not sure where the 4.5 stars is coming from. I was excited to explore a new coffee shop that said it had lots of fresh baked goods. That fell short. It was only 9am. The atmosphere inside was more of the problem. The gentlemen that was helping us at first was nice but then this lady started helping us and she wasn't very pleasant. I'm all for supporting small businesses and know that sometimes that comes with your kids having to come into the shop. But yelling and threatening about 5 times as we sat there and tried to enjoy our drinks and pastries of what they had left was uncomfortable. Unfortunately when you have to discipline in a place of business maybe soften your tone or ask another worker to assist instead. Overall we just didn't like the atmosphere or the set up. Was not very welcoming. The lady did try to be polite to the next few customers that walked in but her tone was just not to my liking and made rhetorical experience uncomfortable. It's a hard pass for me. And if customers asked everytime where the napkins were..., maybe don't place them below the trash can by the exit. Kind of weird. Bagel was good Coffee was okay. read more

Industrial Coffee is a great spot all around. The place is very clean and well kept, with plenty of seating both inside and outside, which makes it easy to relax or get some work done. The most important part--the coffee--was excellent. It had a really nice balance between the coffee flavor and sweetness, not overpowering in either direction. You can tell they care about how it's made. I also tried the banana bread and it was very tasty and delicious, a perfect pairing with the coffee. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was friendly, patient, and super helpful, especially when explaining how to order and recommending what was good. That kind of service makes a big difference. This is a little shop in an unsuspecting shopping center. Their powder for the Mexican mocha is so delicious! The breakfast sandwich was expensive and was kid size definitely not made for an adult. New to the area and I love this place! I've been multiple times and have never been disappointed. The banana bread is so yummy, and the breakfast croissant doesn't have wimpy servings of bacon. I like how there are rotating cupcakes in the summer and unique pastry choices. I wish you guys were open later, that's my only beef! Big fan of the Mexican mocha, matcha latte, and iced badass. Everyone here is so nice as well, service is great and fast. I especially like how there is a section to purchase locally-made items. Industrial Grind strikes a great balance between humble local cafe and hip cool coffee spot. Their menu is simple. Pick a coffee preparation, and then pick a flavor to go in it. Many of the options have sugar free versions which is awesome! Service is friendly and I love looking at the cool products they carry in store. I've got to swing by to try their cupcakes, which are only available Saturdays and feature a different creative flavor each time. I've gotten the mocha and sugar free jasmine iced lattes before, and I've gotten them with both regular and oat milk. These coffees are pricy but taste way better than some of the big chains. I am no coffee connoisseur but even I can appreciate the smooth, roasted flavor that really shines in the drinks I've had here! All in all this is definitely a great option for my morning caffeine fix, any time I'm in the area! read more

I love the Iced Badass. One of my favorite drinks to get anywhere but their other coffee is also good. The breakfast food is pretty good too, the Acai bowl in particular is really yummy. Cute hole in the wall coffee spot for locals. Looks like they have creative bakery options on the weekend . They also have a cute "gift shop" area. We came on a Monday so we missed any creative bakery items as they are served on Saturdays. They do have a small regular menu of food and bakery items available. The item I had was small but ok. One member of the staff seemed passionate about coffee and regular customers. Coffee was average. My cousin had the frittata and was disappointed as it was simply a badly microwaved item (she returned it for a refund). I can't believe that I haven't tried this place after several years of living near here. I was so used to going to Starbucks...welp, not anymore! After a very underwhelming experience at our local Starbucks which I wrote a review about, my husband and I decided to check this place out. A young barista downtown recommended we try this place, assuring us that the coffee here is really good. He was right! The coffee is so good; in fact after our first time here, we came back at least 3-4 times within the last month. I know people get coffee a lot more than this, but we almost never get coffee to go (we prefer to make it ourselves), so for us to go multiple times within the same month says something. This place can get busy, but the barista tries to get the drinks as fast as possible and they're usually super efficient and nice throughout the process. And because they're a local business, it feels a lot more familial than Starbucks, which has a ton of baristas working all at once and are trying to pump out as many drinks as possible. One of our neighbors told us he stopped going to Starbucks after they did their remodel because it "stopped feeling personal", unlike here. Outdoor seating and breakfast sandwiches are also offered here. I haven't tried either, but I did try one of their oat bars they had at the counter. It was delicious!!! If you are in Tierrasanta, I recommend trying this place out. My personal favorites are the Hillcrest (a must try if you like coconut) and the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which is leagues better than Starbucks and is offered all year round. read more

Very welcoming environment with a lovely local vibe. We stopped in to grab coffee after a walk with our dog, and it was populated but not busy inside. The owner greeted us and we let her know it was our first time in. She did a quick tour of the menu, and we both ordered the iced badass, with oat milk. I stopped in after a hike nearby. It's a small coffee roaster that also offers food like avocado toast. It was a Saturday morning when I came, so it was a little busy. The service was fast. The place was simple. I really enjoyed my coffee and wouldn't mind coming back if I'm ever in the area again. Also, there is a restroom but it is not directly connected. I was meeting classmates to go study and they suggested Industrial Grind and then I saw on Facebook their post for carrot cake cupcakes. I new today was going to be a good day. On Saturdays they regularly post dessert items they are making for that day and I use to always be at a soul sucking job when they did this. At first I was not into their chai because of the sweetness but as I drank it more it grew on me. Yes the chai is very sweet but next time I will ask them to reduce the sugar. Cappuccino was too sweet. I thought I was over sugar loading after Halloween but this drink didn't help. I asked honey as a sweetener and I thought it would be on the side. I stopped in after a yoga class next door with a friend. Great coffee, tons of locally owned snacks and coffee to purchase at the grab and go sections. I got an iced americano with flavors (they have many options both regular and sugar free) and a bagel with cream cheese. My friend grabbed an iced tea and an egg & cheese croissant sandwich. Wow wow wow where do I start! My sister found this place after our hike and I'm so glad she did! I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwhich which was amazing! The veggies were fresh, the sand which was the perfect size I ate the whole damn thing! I got a double shot over ice with peppermint WOW. I am a very picky coffee person and when I tell you this was the best iced espresso I've ever had. My friend ordered this complicated iced coffee with lavender, peppermint and caramel and the owner said she would turn it into a cupcake! Love this place. But keep in mind it is mainly just for coffee and to get a nice little pastry. I did not see a lot of outlets and I didn't ask for any wifi codes either. They have a good selection of coffee available and a good knowledge of how the coffee should be prepared properly. I got their crucible the first time and I was WIRED. The second time I went I got their drip coffee and it was just enough for me. Every Saturday they also have a special cupcake that they sell. I went and got the PB and J cupcake and shared it with friends. It was delicious and my friend definitely asked if I could get more. Keep in mind this is only a Saturday thing. I have lived in T-town most of my life and today was my husband I's first time trying this place. I too have been trying to rid myself of giving my money to Starbucks and try to support local. So we came after a hike at Mission Trails. What we ordered: A iced sugar free coconut latte & iced peppermint mocha. 2 bagel & egg breakfast sandwiches. We paid a little under $30. Pros: The sugar free flavors were on point! We both loved our lattes. The breakfast sandwiches were tasty. The staff was so friendly and recognized mostly everyone minus us that came in the door. Cons: I see this place as a hangout on a slow morning place but sadly there was not much seating when we arrived at 11 am on a Saturday so if this is your goal try going earlier. This sounds so basic but the iced coffee comes in the same cups as the hot coffee. This could be an environmental/financial choice so no shade to the owners it's just my own issues lol. I'll be back most likely to try more sugar free flavors. read more

I was so shocked by the price of almost $8 for a medium latte made with 1/2 & 1/2 that I just couldn't bring myself to leave my usual tip.
