I've been coming to Kokoro for years and it never disappoints! If you're looking for quick service food that's healthy and happy on your body, this is the spot! Kokoro is not fancy by any means, but it feels like a family restaurant. Very welcoming with a simple menu. I tried the ginger tofu & it tasted too sweet? This was not for me... I like the tang, almost spice, of ginger. However, their tempura shrimp is always a must & I love their teriyaki bowls. I felt energized leaving & I am always happy to come here when in Arvada.

The spider rolls with my own soy sauce for dipping. Don't be afraid to order and eat the crab's legs: very flavorful, crunchy, and so good!

What I really like about this place is the simplicity without taking away the quality of the food, and the ambiance where you can meet up with friends for conversations while eating a simple meal. Walking in, we were not greeted by anyone but our friends who were there already, motioning us to the table. Seated, we looked over the menu, which were filled with plenty of food choices front and back. The friends we were meeting here always get pretty much the same food: Kokoro bowl (beef and chicken), chicken bowl, and California rolls. Since we have never dined here, I chose the spider rolls and a beef bowl (super), and my husband chose the Kokoro bowl, and for $1 more, he substituted the white meat option instead of the offered dark meat. The spider rolls I ordered came with 4 pieces of soft shell crab, fried in a batter, and were wrapped in seaweed and rice. Cooked to perfection, these rolls were so good! They tasted so fresh too. This is one food item I would like to eat again and again whenever I visit this restaurant in the future. My beef bowl was very simple: rice underneath marinated beef with onions. It could use more juice from the beef, so I added some soy sauce, pickled ginger, and chili pepper powder. The added flavor to this dish enhanced my eating experience, because it was just enough heat for me to enjoyed the dish. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the staff made the eating experience here an enjoyable evening. If you want casual Japanese food without a big price tag, give Kokoro a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by their food, prices, and service. Their two locations, conveniently located in Denver (on Colorado Blvd) and Arvada (on Wadsworth), are easy to find. Happy eating!

Love the value at this restaurant! Very reasonable prices and they always have great deals via their rewards program! A good variety of seating with booths and counters, promt service and food comes out quickly. They also have a drive through.

I love Kokoro- fast, friendly and delicious! The kiddo went to a movie and I was killing time. I crave the tremors splash for crispy shrimp and veggie nests to break up into the delicious broth and tender udon. Comfort food at its best!!

The food is always fresh and tastes delicious! The drive thru and fast! This is my go to spot for sushi! The green tea cheesecake is my favorite dessert on the menu! Definitely recommend checking this little family owned restaurant out!

Great service. Fast and perfect for kids. It might not win an award but it was perfect for a quick bite.

Couldn't understand anything the person was saying at the drive thru. Then I waited at the window for 10 minutes for my order. Never got it and drove off. Horrid customer service for over priced food

Kokoro in Arvada isn't going to win any awards for being "the most extravagant restaurant in town," but if you're looking for a place where the service is stellar and the food is legitimately great, it's a winner. The ambience? Well, it's fine. Nothing to write home about, but it's not like you're eating in a cave either. The outdoor seating is nice enough--definitely not the kind of place where you'll be fighting for a seat under a heat lamp, but it's... fine. However, the real stars here are the service and food. The staff is on top of it, friendly, and efficient, making sure you're happy without hovering. And the food? Delicious. It's like someone in the kitchen actually cares. So, while it might not be a "wow" for the decor, Kokoro definitely makes up for it with a solid meal and top-tier service. Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I tell my friends? Only if they promise not to ask for my seat on the patio! . Just a little sidenote for this location they do have a drive-through, which is very convenient as well.!

Always a joy to eat here. Su is a joyful woman who performs outstanding service to all that walk thru the door. All the employees seem to be spot on.The spicy tuna rolls are killer! Their have been off days but this place is one of my go to when I need a smile and easy eating. Keep up the good work Kokoro!

Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Ambiance: 5/5 Tonight was my second time trying Kokoro and I think it will be a new casual spot for me to enjoy some Japanese comfort food. It's very charming inside to me, reminiscent of an old diner. It's clean and the atmosphere is very welcoming. The service was 11/10. The FOH manager tonight was so funny and everyone was kind. My server, Su, was the sweetest woman. She complimented me many times, was very patient and informative when explaining their rewards program and menu items, and she gave me Hi Chew candy at the end of my meal. (Their rewards program is just your phone number, and beer and sushi get discounted when you use it. You also get freebies over time which is awesome) So far in these past two visits I've had: Chicken curry with white rice: 3.5/5 stars - curry and rice were great, *IF* it was chicken katsu it would probably be 5/5 Tossed green salad: 4.5/5 stars - vegetables were so fresh. Vegetarian roll (avocado & cucumber): 5/5 stars - simple, satisfying, & perfectly made Green tea cheesecake: 3.5/5 stars - very tart and has a gelatinous texture to it. Maybe it's a Japanese way to prepare cheesecake, considering it was crustless. Didn't taste like green tea much at all. Was interesting though! Forest child soup: 5/5 stars!!! - The forest child soup will be something I order EVERY TIME I go. It is so comforting and delicious. Tuna Poke bowl: 3/5 stars - I wasn't a fan of the tuna so much, it tasted a little fishy and lemony Hot Green tea: 5/5 stars - very tasty, they give you a whole tea pot! They even pack it to go One of the biggest shocks to me was that the alcohol was all around $5 (Sapporo and Asahi!), when I usually see the same drinks at other restaurants for $7-$9. I'll definitely be back for the forest child soup and vegetarian rolls regularly.

Got this place because it was on but 1 get one free for gyoza and chicken katsu on Uber eats and it was so bad. The rice was fine but that's kind of hard to mess up. The miso soup tasted so fishy and it was really gross. The katsu was sooooo thin I couldn't even taste the actual chicken. The gyoza was good but really oily it's like they didn't let them sit before packing. The bowl with noodles was just so off mark. My husband said it sat super heavy and the flavors were not there. So bummed as I thought this would be my new spot.

Terrible sushi. They used a thick roll of regular rice, not sushi rice- making the rolls almost inedible. So so disappointed

They do charge a bit more than your typical AYCE sushi spot, but the quality absolutely justifies it. The rolls are beautifully balanced -- fish, avocado, rice, everything in harmony -- and I was impressed that hardly any of them relied on imitation crab as filler, which is something I see far too often elsewhere. The sashimi and nigiri selection is excellent as well, and personally, I gravitated toward the sashimi to avoid the carb overload that comes with nigiri. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was no wait. The restaurant is spacious, and our server was incredibly attentive. She walked us through the process and the rules, making the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The rolls themselves were fantastic -- thoughtfully crafted and delicious. I especially enjoyed the Naruto roll, wrapped in cucumber instead of rice, which was a refreshing change. We ordered about five rolls, including the Naruto roll, plus crab wontons, sashimi, and dessert, and I can confidently say we got our money's worth. I highly recommend this place.

Delivery sushi might have a weird reputation. I mean, you think of beautifully presented fresh fish on fancy plates. Well sometimes that's just unrealistic. Mika Sushi has great Yelp reviews and they're not far from our house. We ordered them on DoorDash and we were stuffed after dinner! When I say stuffed...these were some of the LARGEST sushi rolls I've ever had. Normally I can house two specialty rolls, and these were LOADED to the brim. My mouth was barely wide enough to down these GIANT rolls in one bite (keep it PG). Mexican Roll ($16.95) // spicy yellowtail, cucumber, salmon and jalapeño. A little heavy handed on the sauce. Spicy, savory, tasty. Godzilla Roll ($17.95) // spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, avocado, tuna, seared salmon, special sauce. Loaded with flavor, well balanced, filling. Rock Shrimp ($10.95) // fried shrimp with creamy sauce. Their take on bang bang shrimp. These were good, but would've been even better fresh out the fryer at the restaurant. Simple, easy, can't go wrong. I have to reiterate that these were maybe the BIGGEST sushi rolls ever. I don't know if it translates in the photos. Normally a sushi roll is sliced into 8 pieces; these could've been 10 or 12 pieces! I am full just thinking about this meal! Will have to check out the actual restaurant one of these days. Thanks for filling our bellies on a cold winter night.

Located in a very non descript strip center, Mika is serving up some of the best sushi bites I have ever had. (FYI.... my last meal on earth will be sushi.... so I have a take out menu with me!). Mika is a friendly little sushi place with a modest menu with very very reasonable prices. My bff and I headed there (at my request) for our last meal of 2024....... let's celebrate I told her. So we sat back in our seats, ordered up some sake and wine and got to it. First up, their 8 piece sushi plate with a California Roll, soup and salad for $20.99. That's right 8 pieces, a roll, soup and salad.... a killer deal.. The pieces were very nice size and extraordinarily fresh. I don't really love a CA roll (but my bff does).... and Mika's was really nice. But the biggest surprise was the miso soup..... I think there was fairy dust in it. It was sooo perfect.... I don't usually order soup (fills me up and I can't more fish). Okay, next (that 8 piece is gonna be hard to beat). We ordered the Arvada roll. We are in Arvada, just seemed appropriate (and extremely kitschy!). The waitress delivered a 10 piece roll on a platter (not a plate). Inside spider, mango, spicy tuna and avocado wrapped with soy paper. I love soy paper! This roll was lovely, plentiful amount of fish with the perfect sweet spicy combination.... wow! Gonna be near impossible to beat this one... but nooo..... Next up, the Godzilla roll with spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, avocado inside, topped with tuna, salmon seared with special sauce. The flavor was amazing, a light smokey seared salmon kinda stole the show.... but this roll came together in perfect harmony of flavors. Oh dear I am stuffed, but I WANT MORE. Next time I guess.....
