Spicy Crunch Yellowtail Roll and Alaska Roll
    Angie W.

Second time coming here in a week. Their happy hour is very attractive (everyday, 3-6p) with basic rolls around $6/6.5. The restaurant is super clean and bright, very inviting. They have a decent bar if you're interested in drinks which is a nice option. I ordered the spicy crunchy yellowtail roll for $6.5 and the Alaska roll (salmon, avocado) for $6. The Alaska roll is hands down my favorite. Super fresh fish paired perfectly with avocado. The yellowtail however was slightly disappointing. I tasted only the crunchy. Towards the end I just scooped out the filling and put it on top of my salmon roll. Next time I would order a roll other than a spicy crunchy. The wasabi was nice and most of the ginger was good but a couple ends were questionable and brown. The service was quick, attentive and friendly especially for just a party of one which can sometimes be forgotten or disregarded. I'll probably be back next week for more!

Walked in with my service dog, the waiter, Justin was extremely polite! We sat in a comfy booth and immediately was served, water for my Service Dog, HUGE complete menu, with an additional explanation menu. I did not even look at the prices, the menu was extremely complete! I request "Green Tea," which is often a "Tell Tale," the Green Tea was perfect, and forgetting to ask for side of ice, Justin, once again being very polite and perfectly timely, had my ice. The Menu is huge and complete! The Hawaii Dragon Roll was perfect, my Aspen loves "Shrimp", along with Golden Mussels, everything cooked to perfection, as my waiter - Justin stated would be "an excellent choice." Asking him if he would always polite and honest, Justin stated, "I'm always honest!" Impressive and thank you Justin. There was no rushing our meal, Justin kept a perfect watch over how I was proceeding, along with other customers. The "Ambiance" is simple, entire front and side were glass and steele, counters and tables are black granite with specks; nice background to showcase the food being present. NOW PRICE!! I was blown away, extremely reasonable, the Green Tea, each beautiful presented dish and Fresh Fish taste could have commanded a much higher price in Edgewater, (please see photo) Parking was an ease, given this Shiso Sushi & Oyster Bar sits on the edge of the main drag where all restaurants are located across from Sloans Lake. Thoroughly ENJOYED, every moment of eating and feeding Aspen, plus perfection in service!! Highly recommended a short drive from Denver, located in Edgewater, as some have mentioned, A Polished Diamond in the Rough Top Score

THEY NO LONGER OFFER ALL YOU CAN EAT. Went at 4pm for their daily happy hour (thought they had Sunday AYCE). The happy hour rolls were very lacking in fish content. They were 70%+ cream cheese, cucumber, or misc crunch. Service was not bad. Pretty good. Decent ambience I like the music.

Fresh fish and very reasonable pricing. Service was friendly and they have a huge saki selection!

We popped in for a quick bite tonight. This is one of those places you aren't expecting to be a diamond in the rough but we we loved how fresh the fish was! We ordered a variety of rolls but our favorite was the crazy tuna roll and the playboy roll! The spot is really accommodating for big or small groups, the sushi chefs are great with navigating any requests, and the price is spot on! We had two servers which was a little confusing but we think the girl was in training. Since this spot is by the highway, we were also really excited that you couldn't hear any of the noise from people running the lake or the traffic outside. The Jonas Brothwrs playing in the background was also a nice touch haha This is a must try for someone looking for quality sushi in Lakewood.

Pretty solid food! I went to Shiso for the first time with my partner and his kids. They love the edamame, California rolls, and seaweed salad from here, which always says something. Read: it's hard to please picky eaters. Service is courteous and patient. It wasn't busy at all when we visited. I personally had the unagi don. Delicious. Would come here again for that. I love that it's located by Sloan's Lake!

I'm always around The corner at UPS and pass by Shiso. For whatever reason we had never stopped by Shiso. We got delivery and it was super easy. Surprisingly their rolls were delicious! I'd categorize them as "economical sushi". it's not as good as Sushi Den yet it's so much better than your run of the mill sushi place. I'm not a fan of fried rolls and theirs we're not only delicious. It also arrived at our house slightly crunchy. Yum!! The fish is super fresh and fatty. 3 rolls for $36. It was great for the quality. Shiso will be our go to local sushi place from now on.

    looks like butterfish

wildly mediocre. The good reviews must be people from Denver who dont know good fish. Ordered at 2 nobody in restaurant so why did i get browned avocado and teeny tiny little pieces of nigiri. 100$ gets you practically nothing and no the fish is sub par. gyoza was in same bag as fish and gyoza was cold and my 2 rainbow rolls were warm and discolored. (they only gave me one to be honest) really really bad but pretty standard for the garbage that denver serves

Mexico roll, rainbow roll, volcano roll, spicy crunch tuna and spicy crunch shrimp (left to right). Spicy crunch had 0 spice

Welp. Taste like grocery store sushi. Came for hh and was very underwhelmed. Quality of the fish is lacking and the HH hour prices are average at best. I wish they had a better offering on the happy hour - nothing was special and a lot of the rolls had a pre made imitation crab mix in them. The spicy rolls were not spicy and each roll was really lacking in flavor. They also charge for spicy mayo $1 each.

We tried Shiso as takeout the other night. While the fish tasted fresh we felt that it is pretty expensive for what you get. The rolls are pretty tiny. Perhaps that would seem different if one was dining in. I thought that the spider and unagi rolls were particularly tasty, as was the yellowtail with scallions.

Unpretentious place. Simple decor. Well lit. Friendly servers. We dropped by for HH. It's an excellent place for this purpose. The HH menu was loaded. Fresh fish. Well presented rolls and good size. My favorite of all time Saba (mackerel ) was fresh and the portion was respectable. The guys shared some hot sake while I stuck to water. HH price I think was $4 or $5 an order for sake. If you share a $35 order of a few different things you will be full. We were. Fast service and we were in and out of there in a flash. I will be back!

3 roll lunch special with salad, and miso (not pictured)
    Matt R.

Great spot for a delicious and affordable sushi lunch! I have only been here for lunch, and that's because you can get 3 rolls, a salad, and miso soup, all for $16 bucks. I love sushi that is affordable, which is hard to find in Colorado. The lunch special is always with it. One day I'll go back for more dishes, but the lunch special is enough to keep mecoming back.

What made it more frustrating was the lack of service. No one checked on us, and we had to flag down another staff member just to get the check. Our server never came by. It was also surprising because the restaurant wasn't busy. There were open bar seats and plenty of open tables, so I'd be nervous to see what the experience is like on a busy night.
