Was impressed with the bartender/server hustling the drinks and food with a great attitude. Nice job. Also the cooks getting our food out in a timely manner. My chicken tacos tasted and looked good, my date's burger and sweet potato fries were good, even if the fries were a bit cool. The place was so busy. All the pool tables were in use by the time we left. I guess there was a delay getting the prime rib orders out of the kitchen as a couple of people we were with were still waiting on their prime rib orders when we left. Just a note, if this place looks busy, order something easy for them to make if you are hungry and can't wait to eat. Ask the bartender for advice as they will let you know. I'm glad I asked before we ordered, as they were packed with customers on a busy Friday evening after the snow and ice had melted from the big storm where everyone was stuck at home for a week. read more

The service was slow on this non-busy evening. Even though our server was friendly, the food was less than expected. Our steaks were supposed to be medium rare. My husband ordered a T-Bone, and I ordered a New York strip steak. Both were definitely well-done. The potatoes that were served with them were shriveled and overcooked, and the measly four asparagus spears were the only thing on our plates that was cooked properly. I'm saddened by some post Covid changes that are at Kolby's bar. This was the best pool hall I ever played at. The owners, Kevin and Corky opened an up scale hall with great steaks and friendship. Post Covid, it reopened under new management and all the old crew are gone. The atmosphere is cold and focused on the bottom dollar. It has lost it's soul. I hope I can rewrite this review soon with a return to 5 stars and the place that Corky was proud of. "I loved this bar." Came back to this bar after about a year hiatus. Sadly the vibe was off, very clean bar but the bartender was lacking. My friend asked for a old fashioned and it was served in a Moscow mule cup and poured cherry syrup off the cherry serving bowl. Not even close. Ordered drop shots and they were premixed in warm pint glass. Also the "local" pool league players are very entitled. Got yelled at for walking down a hall because they were playing. I was disappointed. I drive by Kolby's pretty much daily...though the sign is a bit distracting, and I wasn't quite sure what it said for a while. Maybe I'm just stupid, but it is a really kind of abstract, calligraphy type thing. Anywhoo, I stopped in here on a Sunday night. The place has an awesome decor, I really give it points for that. Very stylish, good lighting, TV's in appropriate places. Lots of pool tables and high chairs/tables, though a considerable dearth of standard-level seating. If that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere, says Kolby's. So I get up to the bar. Have a seat. Glance at a menu, but I'm really just looking for a beer and a place to read. So I wait. And wait. About ten minutes goes by. I see the bartender at the far end of the bar, kibitzing with some people who all look like they're having a great time. Another employee comes to the cash register directly in front of me, rings something up, leaves. Does it again. The bartender comes to my cash register, rings something up, leaves. Not a word to me. I have my book down, am looking at them, looking around, looking back at the kitchen. Nothing. I set a time on my watch...if no one even acknowledges my presence, I would leave. With one minute to spare, the bartender asks if I've been helped. I say no, and I get a beer soon after that. The next one was not quite so long in coming, but I had had enough by then. No engaging in any kind of even minor conversation, no question of whether I wanted to order food or not. Just....nothing. The place was not busy. Not by a long shot. I may not have wanted to have speeches, but I certainly wanted to feel like an appreciated customer. I'll stick to other locations. Plus, the menu prices looked a little high. But maybe not...I was in a foul mood when I looked over the menu a second time. read more

This is the best bar for billiards in town. The food is outstanding, particularly "The Cuban". Salads, soups, great sandwiches and great hamburgers. The pool tables are Diamond tables, and they are maintained very well. The balls are always clean and beautiful. The bartenders and servers are professional, friendly, and always very attentive. I continue to be impressed by this establishment. Not only is the food fabulous, the people are friendly (they took the time to know me by name), and the billiard tables are competition quality and very nicely maintained. Just as Chuck B., I too was there on opening day and discovered some of the same issues he describes. Now they have worked out the kinks, settled in, found their niche, and provide excellent service. It is a great place to eat whether or not you like billiards. While you can get the standard "pub fare" if you choose, you also have the option of fine dining entrees as well. read more

Kolby's has hosted a couple of important parties for our large group, both featuring the EPIC '55 BAND. Both events were a home run! The music was outstanding, and the food was really bueno and affordable. This place is huge, and very clean with an attentive staff. Giant bar and lotsa pool tables ~ classy without pretense. Went in one time because our friend was saying it was such a cool place. We get there and we show the bartender all of our ID's and the friend who recommended the place was not allowed to stay because the bartender thought something was up with his ID. Hes a trucker he has to have a valid ID so wth? We left will never be back. read more

Place is clean and tidy. Food is edible. Beers and bottles look very orderly. Pool tables were all perfect condition. TVs were all fresh LCDs. Seating was all uniform and sanitized clean. These are all positives. However, they all concluded for me that this place seems to lack "grit" or a life of it's own. It is the exact kind of place you want to go and quietly forget about the world for a bit and catch your thoughts in a sterile location. If your goal was to come here, meet people, mingle, and have a night to remember- that just wouldn't happen. No beef with the place at all. I don't mind coming here. Easy goin crowd with good bartenders and great pool. Wandered in on league night and walked out, what a mistake. Came here a second time with the wife and it was so great! What seems like the main tables were taken by some regulars so we hopped on a side table. Lots of fun, cheap beers and a good time guaranteed! My mother and I went to Kolby's today for an early dinner and to see what had become of what had once been the Dugout. The place is lined with pool tables now, so if you're into that then awesome. Our server was a nice guy and got us our menus and drinks pretty quickly, but that's about where my positive review ends. Right after we ordered our food, a older gentleman wearing a Kolby's shirt walked in from the back exit door with a small, ugly dog in his arms. He then walked right into the back where the kitchen is, still holding the dog. My mom and I were both shocked. He obviously wasn't a service dog because when the gentleman came out the dog was walking without a leash and scampered into the dining area. The gentleman was having a hard time getting the dog to listen and go through the back exit again. This happened twice while we were there. It took 45 minutes for the 2 cooks to make our 2 burgers and fries. We were the only people there ordering food. I saw one of the cooks lick his fingers. When our food came out the server THEN informed me that they were out of the beer battered fries I requested so he just told them to make me the waffle fries....WHAT?! Thanks for checking with me. I got the "Blue Burger". Which is supposed to be a burger with bacon and bleu cheese sauce. The onions came on the burger even though I requested that none be on there. I couldn't taste any bleu cheese in the sauce. I really don't think we will ever eat here again. Just way too many things went wrong and the dog really grossed us out. Hopefully they can make it on the pool side of the business. read more

absolute garbage... we arrived just past 5:30 we ordered by 5:50 we waited until 7:30 before we got our food and we didnt even get all of it so instead of waiting for them to bring it to us we had it boxed up to go. when we got home it was the wrong freaking order i have never been anywhere with a kitchen staff as bad as this if you value your time and money do not i repeat do not consider this place whatsoever i honestly wish there was a star rating lower than one read more

My recent visit, which was my first visit, to Kolby's was very disappointing. The service was very slow and not as welcoming as I would like. Also, the place is full of tall, barstool like tables. I think this is an ego thing for some people or something. Its ok to have a few of these, but the place is full of them. One of the other reasons I dislike this type of seating, as it does not allow me to invite a friend, that I have, that uses a wheelchair. I think this type of tall seating, also adds the unwelcome feeling I experienced. The food itself was decent, not earth shattering, but still decent. In all, I won't be back to Kolbys and I certainly can't recommend it either. Needs improved service and a much needed change in seating. read more

Worst service I have had in years. Hair and bugs in food also. I told the Manager on duty we showed them the hairs and bugs also fruit fly's in our drinks. Very gross they did not care we paid and left food and drinks on table. I have contacted the Health department I'm sure they will shut this place down very soon. read more

Kolby's is now one of my favorite bars. I've been twice now, and I've enjoyed the experience both times. The bartender was nice, called me by my name, was very accommodating. The first time I went there was too long ago to remember, but the second time was recently, so my review will be of that time. I didn't have to wait long to get the bartender's attention, unlike most other places I go that have male bartenders. Male bartenders usually serve the young attractive girls first, not the tall bearded guys, in my experience. But this guy was quick to get to me. I ordered a double Irish Car Bomb, and he asked me if I wanted it all mixed together, because he remembered me from the last time I was there and how I didn't like dropping my shot glass into the beer glass. So he mixed it all together, added more Hennessy and Bailey's, and it was very good. He said it was strong, but I'm a big guy and it didn't really kick me in the pants like I was thinking it would. But then I ordered a slippery nipple, because they're delicious, and he was quick with it. He said he noticed I was a fan of Bailey's, and asked if I wanted anything else that had Bailey's in it. I said sure. He made me a Spanish Coffee. Lit it on fire, it was pretty cool. And it was fantastic. He only charged me for the 151 in the Spanish Coffee, too, because he wasn't absolutely sure if I'd like it, but since I'd never had one he thought I'd like trying something new. I got a beer, and was about to cash out when I decided, spur of the moment, to get a Kamikaze. He asked me what flavor. I said I didn't know it came in other flavors. He recommended raspberry, and I got one and it was fantastic. The food, on the other hand... Not great. Not bad, but not great. We got chicken strips with fries. The chicken strips tasted like chicken strips, but the fries tasted fishy the first time, and really sweet the second time. The food is the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars. But I definitely will be back for the drinks and the pool. read more

Truly awful service. I will never go back!! How did this place get such high ratings? I wentm in today with my niece and her fiance, sat down at a table, and totally ignored by the bartender. No server in sight.. Waited and waited..finally the woman tending bar comes over and nastily informs us that we were sitting at one of the 7 saved tables (no signs) and would have to move. Then she leaves. She has no customers at the bar!! Still waited for service. Finally walked over to the bartender and told her we were interested in eating and could we get some menus. She snarkily tells me "I'll be right there." Never came back and deliberately ignored us until we walked out a few minutes later. This place is a disgrace. The owner should be ashamed for hiring such lousy staff. Stay away!! read more

My husband and I go into Kolby's just about every Friday night, they know us and when they come to our table they have what we drink in their hand, that is something that I love....but...I guess I was not aware that children were allowed in this establishment, it to me is not an environment that I think a child should be in, it is a BAR, there is minimal seating, tons of pool tables, the bar almost reaches the length of the place, most of all drinking. I go there because I want to relax and have a nice dinner, which we always get perfect service and delicious food, I don't however wish to have children all around me and this last Friday was the first time I seen this. I am the mother of two grown children and NEVER would have taken them into a place where drinking was one of the main things that people do there, I will most likely not be going back, If I wanted to eat with a bunch of kids around I would go to a family restaurant, not a BAR....I do like the place, but we usually go before eight in the evening and well, I find this disappointing...... read more
